RESISTORS
WHAT IS RESISTOR?
 A resistor is a passive two-terminal electrical component that
implements electrical resistance as a circuit element. In electronic
circuits, resistors are used to reduce current flow, adjust signal
levels, to divide voltages, bias active elements, and terminate
transmission lines, among other uses.
 “Resistors is a passive electrical component with the primary
function to limit the flow of the electric current”
What are Resistors made up of?
 Resistor composition. Resistors can be constructed out of a variety of
materials. Most common, modern resistors are made out of either
a carbon, metal, or metal-oxide film. In these resistors, a thin film of
conductive (though still resistive) material is wrapped in a helix around and
covered by an insulating material.
Types of Resistors :
 Resistors, are the most fundamental and commonly used of all the electronic
components, to the point where they are almost taken for granted
Fixed RESISTOR :
A resistor is used to reduce the flow of electricity in an electric circuit. Resistors
come in fixed or variable types. A fixed resistor cannot be changed as it is set at
a specific value, whereas a variable resistor can manage flows at and below a
specific level.
Variable Resistor :
A variable resistor is a potentiometer with only two connecting wires instead of
three. However, although the actual component is the same, it does a very
different job. The pot allows us to control the potential passed through a circuit.
Series Resistors:
Imagine two or more resistors in series, i.e. connected one after
another so that the same current flows through them. The total
resistance of the collection is the sum of individual resistances.
Circuits are
Non polar
