2. During the first week of production, I started my initial plans, within
this week. I planned my product, discussing potential ideas within
my power point, I created a number of mind maps, a mood board
and researched existing ideas to get influences from. Within my
research part of the first week I looked at a number of existing films,
different angles within films. Also within this week II began my
experiments, this was a good chance for me to show any skills that I
already knew within the software I was going to use, at the
beginning of the week I got given a brief of what my experiment
needed to be about, I did two experiments in total, the first one was
exploring different sound effects on the internet and then putting
them on the back of an existing video. I found this week very useful
and found that I had learnt new skills towards the end of the week.
The second experiment we had to get in to groups, film and record a
video then edit it on Premiere Pro, if I had the chance to go about
and do this experiment again I’d spend more time on the editing
side and make sure my sound effects were at the highest standard,
the way that I would do this is book out a camera and the two audio
recorders to see how the sounds sound on each one. I have found a
number of different images to show the angles I would use within
my film.
3. During the second week, I began my research, for this I had to create a survey
with ten questions, detailing what my audience would like to see within a horror
film as that was the genre I had chosen. This was an important part of my
process, also in this week I conducted my proposal, this gave me the chance to
discus the gender, age range, the concept of my short film and social status of my
chosen audience in detail. If I had been given more time on this section I would
plan the layout of my film in more detail, by research existing storylines to inspire
me when I come to product my film.
4. During the third week, I conducted my pre-production, for this I had to plan out
several different elements for when I came to produce my product, these
included, a shot list, risk assessment, and a call sheet. During this week I also
needed to plan who would be featuring in my film. If I had the chance to go back
to this part of my process, I would spend more time on the I’d know exactly what
shot I want to put in my film. different planning elements, I’d spend more time on
my shot sheet to plan each shot in more detail then when I come to produce my
product.
5. During the fourth week of my process, I began filming for my product, before this was
possible I needed to make sure I had the right equipment, I also had to make sure the
people I needed for filming were available. Also I had taken on board the feedback I had
received from my survey and looked at how I could incorporate it within my film. I enjoyed
this process, after the filming, I started editing my footage, I think the people I had chosen
for my film worked really well with the general theme. If I had more time on this section I
would experiment with different types of equipment, this would then give me a chance to
shoot my footage from number of different views and angels, and see how it looks on
different equipment.
6. During the fifth week of my process, I began the evaluation of my research, planning
and other stages within my production. This is an important within my work, this gives
me a chance to look back on my film and go in to detail about what I would change,
understand where I may have gone wrong and discuss what I would have done
differently if I had been given more time. I enjoy this stage of my production because
this is when I can reflect on all parts of my work.
