This document is a project proposal from Oliver Hewson for a documentary-style video pilot called "Graffiti Styles". The video will explore different styles of graffiti in 5 minutes. It will serve as the pilot for a web series and help develop skills for Oliver's final major project. Oliver will research graffiti documentaries and execution styles to create a visually pleasing overview of the topic. He will evaluate his work section by section and get peer or outside feedback to improve any weak areas. The bibliography lists required sources including 2 primary sources from surveys or interviews and 8 other sources spanning books, websites, films and more. Weekly production tasks are outlined over 4 weeks, both in and out of college.

Student Name and Number:

Project proposal title and date:
Graffiti Styles 30/9/21
Main area of activity
I will be making a documentary style video as the pilot of my web seires called ‘Graffiti
Styles’
Target Audience
16-25
Rationale:
My previous projects have been similar on what I plan to make here same topic but this one I will
give it a better more professional style. Everything I do for this project will also help the FMP I do at
the end of the year as I am specialising in film and will make a video for this, so the more skills I
learn now the easier and better quality that will be. So this wont just be stuff I already know within
this project I will experiment and see what looks good so that I can incorporate it in later projects.
Project Concept:
My projects is going to be about the different types and styles of graffiti looking at a baud spectrum
with the concept of each web series episode being on a different one but what I will be making is
the first episode the pilot which just sets the scene n lets the viewer know what its about. The
episode I will be making is a overview of what I would cover all in one 5 minute long video. The
research I will do for this project is similar to what I did for my FMP last year in which the graffiti
video/documentary scene is very small and I will probably be forced to re look at some of what I’ve
already looked at so I could research more towards the making and editing side. This would help
as I already have the knowledge just need to find the most visually pleasing way to execute it.
How will the project be evaluated and reviewed:
I will evaluate my work by doing each section one by one then at a later date re look or re read
through them and see if they are up to standard and if there not I will tweak and change them so
that they are. I guess that’s all I can do maybe if there’s a bit I am really not happy with get a peer
to give me feedback or maybe even someone not on the course for a not bias view however they
may lac understanding.

Week Specific Tasks
1 Production [in/out?]
2 Production [in/out?]
3 Production [in/out?]
4 Production [in/out?]
Be aware which of those weeks are in or out of college,as you may need to plan different tasks around other
work when workingremotely. Budget for approximately 30 hours for production – which is roughly two weeks
of your in collegetime.
