1. POSTER CAMPAIGN PROPOSAL
PROJECT TITLE
Mission Survivor
FORMAT & SIZES
Theatrical poster portrait, teaser poster portrait, theatrical poster landscape
PURPOSE
Entertain/Inform/Educate
DESCRIPTION OF PRODUCT (GENRE & PLOT ELEMENTS FEATURED)
I am going to produce a film poster campaign for a (Action) film as part of the
promotional materials for the film ‘(Mission Survivor)’.
The film is about someone that goes missing and a hero and a villain have multiple fights
The plot elements that I will feature are a missing post then the hero is shown then he
finds villains base and villain is introduced and they fight
OUTLINE OF STYLE
This should be a detailed description of EACH poster
This is your opportunity to set the mood and visual style of your poster. You should refer
to makeup, hair, costume, setting or anything out of the ordinary that’s visually exciting
about your vision. Make reference to colour schemes and how they might influence the
overall look of the posters. How you plan to make certain elements sepia or black and
white, how contrast might be used to affect the feeling of each visual mood. Textures
and fonts that you will use to match genre.
You must also say which elements will be reoccurring in each poster so you know they
are part of the same campaign.
IMAGE LIST & BRIEF DESCRIPTION
I would be using a mid-shot and also a close up because then I can see what the
emotions are in both of the faces of the hero and the villain. This would be because with
the villain I want to make it so you can see the anger in his/her face because there are
the one trying to stop the hero from succeeding
FONT LIST & BRIEF DESCRIPTION
You should have researched this for your moodboard. If you don’t have specific font
names then describe the style of font and why it fits in with genre. There is always more
than one font on a movie poster (title, tagline, stars names, billing block), you must think
about all of them. Universal Accreditation on Dafont is really good for the billing block.
TARGET AUDIENCE (AGE, GENDER, LIFESTYLE, INTERESTS, SPENDING
POWER)
You should have done bits of this with Mr Drummond. You should read the brief and see
what it says about the basic target audience and then expand on this using the subtitles
above…use things like ABC1/C2DE and psychographics.
2. POSTER CAMPAIGN PROPOSAL
HOW THE POSTERS WILL APPEAL TO THE AUDIENCE
Referring back to your style and content, you need to explain how each of these
elements will attract your target audience. Think about: who is the main character - who
are they likely to appeal to? What age are your characters - who will that target? What
demographic is your genre usually aimed at? Do you want to stick to the conventions or
subvert them in some way to appeal to a wider audience?
DISTRIBUTION
Definition of distribution
Because young people always have posters of new films and there favourite films so
everyone would see it this would also be great for selling a film because it can be
multicolour and make it stand out to a larger audience.
Yes because it is seen by everyone and its seen everywhere
Why a campaign is used opposed to one poster?
Consider distribution patterns for films - where do posters fit into this?
MARKETING - HOW & WHERE THE POSTERS WILL BE ADVERTISED
Locations: Forest, Park, and School this is because the sense of the film can happen
anywhere and at any time.
POSITION IN THE MARKETPLACE
This needs to be a summary of your poster research (the three posters that match your
genre). You need to compare/contrast your poster with the ones you have previously
researched. Will it fit conventions and subvert others? Where and how will your product
fit into the current marketplace?
