2. Initial Responses…
As we are in the editing process, we thought it
would be helpful to get some audience feedback on
what we have done so far. In general, what we
heard was quite positive. Everyone liked how it
ended on a cliffhanger, with one person saying
"Oooh, scary...!"
This was the type of response we were looking for.
However, we also wanted to get some negative
feedback, so we can continue to improve. One
problem, due to the technology, was that it froze
which meant there was a section which our
audience couldn't see. This meant that it didn't
make quite as much sense as it would if they were
able to watch it playing fluently.
We were also told that, to create more suspense,
we should edit the clips so that they are shorter.
3. Positives…
We showed our whole music video to a group of people of different ages, ranging from 15-18.
The general feedback was really positive, which was a good thing for us at this stage.
Here are some of the positive points from our male audience members:
• Dramatic
• Binary Opposition
• Really Clear
• Grey clouds- contrast
• Variety of camera angles for the singing footage
The female audience members said these following positive comments:
• An attractive male with "a great jawline"
• Shots were "visually appealing"
• Strong imagery
• Binary Opposition- masculine and feminine
It is clear through this feedback that our audience really likes what we have put together so
far, as is shown not only through their comments, but also by the lack of negative comments.
We know that there are some things we need to edit in, such as the many transitions and the
fact we have to re-film.
4. Screenshots…
Firstly, this screenshot shows the two
characters putting their right hand on the
tree, which could imply that there is a link
between them. The lyrics here also say
"And what was right is wrong..." so
having the right hand on the tree
again emphasises the lyrics.
From the beginning of this process,
we wanted red to be an occurring
theme. As shown in the image below,
the rose and the girl's dress are
almost exactly the same colour,
which is more than we had hoped
for.
5. Screenshots…
Our audience mentioned the fact that we had binary opposition, such
as feminine and masculinity. The image below really highlights this
fact, and is another part of the filming and editing which we are really
happy with.
