The document describes experiments conducted to create an animated astronaut character. It discusses:
1) Creating the astronaut character and animating its movement frame by frame across the screen.
2) Experimenting with different instruments to create background music and sound effects to match the astronaut's rising and falling movements.
3) Importing the animation and audio experiments into video editing software to synchronize the footage and sounds, including slowing down the animation to better fit the soundtrack.
2. Process
• To begin my experimentation I
started by firs drawing a basic
astronaut using the pencil tool
and then filling in the empty
space with the paint bucket
tool, after which I created 20
frames in which after I moved
my character to the bottom left
hand side then moved the
character up 5 pixels and 5
pixels right until about frame 7
in which I moved the character
up 3 pixels and 3 pixel right then
at frame 8 I moved the
character down 3 pixel and 3
pixels right then for the rest of
the frames up until frame 14 in
which I went back to moving the
character up 5 pixels up and 5
pixels right.
3. Reflection
• What elements of your experiments will you
include in your final product?
• One thing from my experiment I will include in
my final product is the movement of the
animation as I may expand upon it.
4. Process
• For the next part of the experiment
I would need to work on the
soundtrack and the sound effects
for my animation in which I played
around with certain instruments in
different formation until I found
the right instrument to play music
in the background of my animation
which was steel guitar.
• Then after that I began work on the
sound effect of my character rising
and falling in which I went through
the same process of going through
each instrument then I moved part
of the music bar to the top creating
a rising sound effect in the sound
and down to create a falling effect.
5. Reflection
• What elements of your experiments will you
include in your final product?
– One element of my research I will include in my
product is the how the music was made as I may
use beep box again to create the songs for my
final product.
6. Process
• For this part of this of the experimentation I took the animation I did in
adobe photoshop and imported it into adobe premiere then did the same
for my music and sound effects experiments in which I combined the audio
with the footage to create the finished product in which during the process
I had to slow down the footage through the speed option in the clip menu
to fit with sound effects and cut up audio to match with the footage with
the use of the razor tool.
7. Reflection
• What elements of your experiments will you
include in your final product?
– One element of my research I will include in my
final product is how the audio and footage is wet
up as I will use what I have learned about slowing
down the footage and cutting up the audio to fit
well enough wit each other that they combined
together smoothly to become something else.
