1. How does you’re media
product represent certain
social groups?
2. In the magazine that I have produced there is a
particular audience that I am trying to get. This
audience is very specific because of the style of music
that they listen to and the reason why they listen to it.
First of all Molly is Amy. Amy is a new artist that is new
to the industry. Her genre of music is pop and she’s a
singer songwriter. Some real artists that may be similar
to her are Ellie Goulding and Taylor swift. Because I
have included someone that is sing song writer in the
genre of pop, this represents my audience as people
that like a high beat and fast tempo, it may also be
representing them as people that are not rebellious and
are average people because pop music is the medium
genre in many ways.
3. Philip is the artist James Blunt. This
is very different to Amy because of
the style of music that it is. This is
more folky and had more acoustic
instruments in it. This could be
related to Ed Sheeran and or the
style of some of Taylor swift’s songs.
(The guitar/folk music sound to it).
This would represent the audience
as people that are calm, relaxing
and passionate.
4. Finally there are Tom and Jack. These
two play the part of the duo named
“the cord”. The genre of this duo is pop
and is very similar to groups like one
direction and the wanted. this may
represent the social groups as mainly
people that like popular music.
Overall the audience is represented in
many different ways because of the
type of music that is talked about in
the magazine. This may represent
them as rebellious or calm etc.
5. The colours also represent the audience. My magazines
audience age group is aimed towards 16 to 26 year olds.
Depending on what the colour schemes are it may change
what the age group is. For example I used mature and stylish
colours. This was so it was still appealing towards the older
part of my target audience as well as the younger.
