2.
The genre of music magazine that I have chosen to do is a
mixture of pop and rock.
However, the majority of my magazine will feature unsigned
bands and artists.
I have chosen to do this because it is the genre of music that I
most enjoy and also because, as a result of my institution
research, I can see that there isn’t many magazines like this, so
there is a possible gap in the market.
3.
There are many institutions who may be interested in producing
a magazine like this.
These institutions may be interested in producing a magazine
like this because they produce other magazines with the same
sort of sub-genre but nothing exactly the same.
4.
My target audience is people with a similar taste in music as me.
This could be any age and gender but I am specifically targeting
young people like students, so older teenagers and possibly
people in their twenties.
These people are likely to be in the C1, C2, D and E demographic
groups, as they are students or younger people on lower
incomes. However, students do have more disposable income
than most people, so can afford to pay for a magazine.
My target audience is going to be aspirers, explorers and
individualists, as these are typically what young people are and
fit in with the sub-genre of my magazine.

I want to create the feeling off passion, hope and
excitement, but I also want to show that music is in everybody's
lives and it is there to enjoy and relate to.
7. I will represent my magazine in a very similar style to other
magazines, like Q and NME with:
A central image covering the majority of the front cover, with
some writing, etc, over the top.
Colours like red, white, blue, etc, that catch the eye.
Simple and easy, but big and bold, fonts, that keep the reader
interested.
A informal and chatty mode of address , in order to connect to
the readers more.
8.
Fair Play- This connotes a sense of respect and good music, as
well as the feeling of equality and non-bias. It also possibly
connotes enjoyment and fun.
Shout Out- This connotes a sense of rebellion but also gives the
feeling of standing up for what you believe and this relates to
music because many artists communicate their beliefs through
their music.
9.
It will feature new up and coming artists and bands, in order to
promote them and get them know. These artists will be of a subgenre of pop/rock music. I will have articles and interviews for
this.
It will also cover news on popular bands and artists, such as
James Arthur, Coldplay and Bon Jovi. This will keep the magazine
interesting.
10.
My double page will spread will feature an unknown artist or
band, with an interview, in order to promote them.
The article will need to have interesting news about them, as
they are not popular already so there will be less interest in
them.
I will make it very similar to other magazine’s double page
spreads.
