3. Other magazines also use the majority
of their artist as young teenaged idols
for example Top of the pops magazine.
4. Another thing all my artist have in
common is music, they are all young
musicians promoting their music. They are
also all the same ethnicity, they are all
British artists and they all have preppy way
of dressing with their own twist on the style
5. They are linked/ some have refer to each other (as
mentioned in the article Q&A I wrote about Poppy
Beamish referring to Jon O’driscoll (the boy on the
contents page)) This suggests they may attended
the same events or are connected in some way.
6. Same genre
As my artists are featured in a
pop/chart magazine the
majority of artists will be
interested in the same genre
of music (pop). But because
the magazine also gives some
focus to chart music there are
popular artists featured in the
magazine that are not pop
musicians instead are more
indie e.g. Ed Sheeran. Or
someone like Demi Lovato
who is swaying more to the
rock/pop genre.
7. Consistent
I tried throughout the
magazine to feature artists
that were mainly pop idols
because my magazine is
pop/chart music and I didn’t
want other genres drawing
away from the main pop
genre I was focusing on. I also
chose the artists to be young
and have similar traits to each
other to give my magazine a
sense of community and
have them in similar social
groups.
