2. Process
I found an image regarding super heroes using Google Images,
This showed promise as a front cover as there is a lot of variety
and there are many choices of heroes to fill the page
3. ProcessI recognized that I could only use so many heroes to fill an A4 page. Using the rectangular
marquee tool I selected and cut each character into a new layer and chose my favourite four, I
then resized them by transforming them to become larger until I had filled the page with each
character and making them similar heights/sizes and put them beside each other and filling any
gaps with a new layer and the fill tool. I had really enjoyed this way of designing as it was quite
creative and looked really good I chose these images specifically as they were colourful and was
a varying as I had hoped.
4. ProcessUsing DaFont, a creative font browsing website, I had chosen a font shown in my pre production
for my Masthead, I had chosen this as its sci-fi theme would appeal to my audience and
ultimately catch the eye of magazine browsers with its unique style, and to make it stand out
more I had duplicated the layer and recoloured it to reside under the logo/masthead to create a
double exposure effect I had enjoyed this as it looked better than expected and made my
product stand out representing a spectrum of story telling and characters
5. Process
Using the “Text” tool I added text admittedly made up on the spot as
plugs, sub-headings I was then towards the final stages of my cover and
needed to adjust it to best fit my primary target audience
6. Process
• Using the “Move” tool I had
tried different locations for
plugs and selling lines as
well as removing page
numbers and added a
Barcode with price and a
feature headline and my
Cover was complete and I
was ready for my double
page spread. I was
extremely happy with this
final outcome as it looked
like a well established
magazine cover, and my
feedback was really positive
which helped.
7. Process
It had first started with a Batman Beyond photo I had found on Google
images that would go well with the theme of conflict. By “pasting” it in.
this started to worry me as I wasn’t entirely sure where this stage was
going but I was reassured by my initial plans and back up ideas.
8. Process
I added a second half using the same tools and using the “cut” tool to half the image
and “Transform” the image to resize it and fit the other half of batman to add to the
theme of conflict and the concept bringing two different comic universes together
even if it is to battle but I was stuck with the problem that one was live action and the
other is cartoon so I needed to make them more similar. This was when I started to
have pride in my product as it was going in the right direction to be presented as a
double page spread.
9. Process
I brought them on the same level by adding the same effect on
the two using a filter called “Colour Halftone” and it gave them
a similar feel to the images and in turn worked better as they
shared a double page spread.
10. Process
I believed the page was ready for text. using the “Text” tool and various fonts I
added a page title and sub heading both relating to the feature headline and
started filling the page with a top 5 list similar to my initial plans I had split the
title slightly so there would be no complications with the centre between the
two pages in the magazine
11. Process
I then finished the list and proceeded to add colour to the
subheading to make it stand out yet sticking with the colour
theme I added a page number and rendered the double page
spread complete.
