Rationale:
I have created a trailer before that did not go very well due to poor time management and lack of detailed
planning so I will use this as a way to encourage me to spend more time planning so then I can manage my
time much better than before.
I have created different graphics and animations before, so I know what to show and what not to show when
making a poster or teaser for a tv series
Because of my GCSE’s in Drama, I can act the way I am required to do like playing the main character(s) or
any side characters; I can also lead my team on how they need to act and where we all need to be when
recording.
Project Concept:
The concept of my series is that in the future of 2045, everyone has chips implanted in different parts of their
body so hospitals can track them and see if any issues in the body arise, however a young prodigy comes
across a USB stick that somehow gives him access to those chips, giving him the power to kill without
anyone knowing until it is too late. After too many people die, the police become suspicious and decide to
add more security to try and stop the killings which in turn causes the main character to adapt and kill in
different ways and it becomes a wild cat and mouse game between the police and the main character.
I will be creating a trailer for a dark sci-fi tv series along with some posters, merchandise, social media pages
and a website to promote this series, using Death Note as my main inspiration.
I will do research on the Death Note anime, dark sci-fi movies, the official and fan made trailers for them, the
different merchandise around them and the different people who created them like the writers and directors.
How will the project be evaluated and reviewed:
I plan to evaluate my work (both the project itself and everything beforehand like planning) each day by
looking at the progress I have made and explaining what is going well, what can be improved and how I can
improve it as I go along; I will also send my work to different people each day for their feedback to get further
information on how my work is going. While making my trailer, I will send each version to different people to
get their opinion on the trailer and see how I can improve it during production.
This way of evaluating will help me develop my practices by telling me what works, how it works and how
could it be improved during production and beforehand.
