METAMORPHOSIS
INDIANDEFENCEPRODUCTION
lot has happened in
Jammu Kashmir
during the four years it
has been without the special
status it enjoyed under Article
370 of the Constitution. The
abrogation of Article 370 in
2019 and the state’s bifurcation
into two Union Territories
(UTs), which raised the number
of UTs to 28, is facing a legal
challenge and is before the Su-
preme Court. What the abroga-
tion of the controversialArticle
has done is to give the Union
Territories a more robust Indi-
an identity, almost ended the
anti-India activity and curbed
terrorism. Targeted killings, es-
pecially of Kashmiri Pandits,
remains an area of concern for
the security agencies.
Having carried out delimita-
tion of constituencies and start-
ing the process of expanding
the list of Scheduled Tribes to
include others, besides Gujjars
and Bakerwals, the government
now has to hold elections. Po-
litical parties in the UTs are
waiting expectantly after their
detention and subsequent re-
lease. The National Conference
and People’s Democratic Party
of the erstwhile state have sunk
their differences after the Gup-
kar declaration and are geared
to take on an upbeat BJP with
an impressive 75 seats in the
District Development Council
(DDC) elections. People’sAlli-
ance for Gupkar Declaration
won 112 seats and the Congress
managed to win only 26 seats.
The BJP may be expecting
more than this outcome if it
wants to end traditional politics
of Kashmir. The success of the
DDC elections was one satis-
factory outcome of Article
370’s abrogation. What the BJP
must now be aiming for is to
get elected and be the first Hin-
du party to rule Kashmir.
SPIRITUAL SPEAK
When meditation is mastered, the
mind is unwavering like the flame of
a lamp in a windless place.
BHAGVAD GITA
ince independ-
ence, the goal set
by our national
leaders was of
self-reliance that
propelled India to nurture its
development and gradually en-
large its defence industrial base
to protect its borders against
foreign aggression. But at the
time of independence, the de-
fence infrastructure and equip-
ment what India inherited was,
what was left behind by the
colonial ruler. After meeting
the basic needs of social justice
and infrastructure, in 1958, the
ordnance factories set up by the
English formed the core group
of industries for production of
defence equipment. Conse-
quently, Technical Develop-
ment Establishment of the In-
dian Army and the Directorate
of Technical development and
production under defence sci-
ence production merged to-
gether to establish DRDO.
As we all know, India’s com-
mitment to Panchsheel and
non-alignment in the era of
cold war, the defence obvi-
ously was not considered as a
prime agenda for allocation of
resources. However, the re-
verses and set backs of 1962
Indo China war provided the
right impetus for India’s de-
fence industry. Over the period
of 74 years, successive govts
increased the defence expendi-
ture from 92.74 crore in 1947
to almost 5.94 lakh crore in
current budget.
Though, the Indian armed
forces are responding to the se-
curity needs in the region and
beyond to address issues of
country’s sovereigntyandinteg-
rity, the speed of upgradation
and modernization of our forces
so far, has been rather slow, and
technologically, we have not
achieved the desired expertise.
As India aspires to be a super
power in the times to come, it
must rely on the fact that all
great powers of today support
a flourishing arms industry.
Unless we achieve self-suffi-
ciency and self-reliance in de-
veloping indigenous, sophisti-
cated, and state of the art equip-
ment this dream of being a su-
per power would allude us.
Today, our country faces the
most complex security chal-
lenges that span from sub-con-
ventional spectrum of warfare
to nuclear conflict. Unresolved
border disputes with our hostile
neighbours, insurgency in vari-
ous states and the urban unrest
has further highlighted lack of
Indian security environment.
Therefore, an urgent need
was felt for augmenting our de-
fence potential on land, sea, and
air. The current dispensation at
Delhi realized it and decided to
give an added impetus to our
erstwhile policies of not only
producing defence hardware
and technology for our country
but also a strategic shift towards
export of warfare equipment
through ‘Make in India’.
Developing defence industry
requires time, technology,
trained manpower and budget.
It indeed is a slow process that
takes decades before dividends
fructify. While in the 1980s,
India galvanised its domestic
defence industry by boosting
investments in DRDO for in-
digenous missile systems like
Prithvi, Akash and Nag, it also
invested in aeronautical pro-
jects such as LCA and Light
helicopters and Tanks. With the
passage of time, by late 90s, an
agreement with the Soviet Un-
ion was reached to make super-
sonic cruise missile ‘Brahmos’,
through a joint venture.
The beginning of 21st cen-
tury saw noticeable increase in
India’s defence budget alloca-
tion. By the time 2015 ended,
India was perceived by the
world amongst seven largest
military spending nations.
There were no holds bar and by
the end of another year, India
clinched the title of being the
fourth-largest military spend-
ing nation.
It was in these two years of
2015 – 16 that renowned com-
panies ie; Airbus and Boeing
started collaboration with Ma-
hendra Defence Systems and
TataAdvanced Systems. Lock-
heed Martin, and Safran soon
established their presence in
the Indian market to manufac-
ture military hardware.
Shortly enough, fast-track
projects like undocking of six
Scorpene diesel-electric attack
submarines and induction of
Tejas in IAF demonstrated the
capabilities of our scientists and
resolve of our leaders. As on
today, India has signed MoUs
with more than 20 countries in-
cluding United States qualify-
ing for license-free access to a
wide range of technologies.
Obviously, this has not been
achieved without hiccups. May
it be moving out of fifth gen-
eration stealth fighter aircraft
manufacturing with Russia or
failure of seven big ticket
‘Make in India’ projects like
Mirage fighters in early 2000 or
a few Naval projects like P751
or the light utility helicopter
Kamov, all failed to see the
light of the day.
Nevertheless, the giant
strides taken by our defence
industry in exporting of equip-
ment like Tejas, off shore patrol
vessel Barracuda, light weight
Torpedoes or Artillery ammu-
nition are adequate evidence
for inching towards being a su-
per power in next few decades.
The incorporation of private
sector in manufacturing de-
fence systems has proven to be
a master stroke in this field.

The attack on the cyber
police station in Nuh on
July 31 during the com-
munal violence was a
planned one, the Haryana
police said on Saturday,
adding that miscreants
had wanted to destroy
evidence collected dur-

as the biggest such raid in
the country.
“The successful raid in
Nuh district, involving a
total of 5,000 personnel
in Haryana, where the
police uncovered a cyber
fraud worth about Rs 100
crore, not only highlights
state’s significant accom-
plishment in the fight
against cybercrime but
showcases the serious-
ness with which the
state’s law enforcement
tackled this issue,” a po-
lice spokesperson said in
a statement. “This was
the biggest ever raid of its
kind in India, in which
320 hideouts of cyber
criminals spread across
14 villages in Nuh dis-
trict were raided.”
“A total of 65 cyber
criminals were arrested
during raids, with an ad-
ditional 25 arrests made
in the period before and
after the raids. Besides
this, law enforcement
seized a significant num-
ber of IT devices, includ-
ing 66 mobile devices
and 5 micro-ATM ma-
chines. These devices
were likely used in car-
rying out cybercrimes.
Numerous fake docu-
ments were exposed, in-
cluding details of 739
fake SIM cards, 307 fake
bank accounts and 199
UPI handles. These fake
documents were likely
used for illegal activi-
ties,” the police spokes-
person further said.
“The criminals at-
tempted to destroy evi-
dence that had been col-
lected during the raids. In
the guise of the violence
in Nuh district, an at-
tempt was made to de-
stroy the evidence col-
lected during this raid
and a planned attack on
the cyber police station
was executed,” the
spokesperson said, add-
ing that the police station
contained documents re-
lated to massive frauds
and other crimes.

STUDENT SUICIDES IN KOTA
Can bureaucracy actually end suicides?

Jaipur
he incidents of
suicide of stu-
dents in Kota
have become extremely
worrisome as one after
the other such incidents
are coming to light. Two
incidents have already
happened in the month of
August and from January
2023, a total of eighteen
students have committee
suicide.
The incident of August
3 has taken a new turn as
theparentsofthedeceased
Manjot Chhabra believe
that their child has been
murdered. They have reg-
istered a FIR against the
owner of PG, Manager
and one student while
naming a few more indi-
viduals in the FIR under
section 302 and 120 of
IPC.Theparentshavealso
appealed to UP CM Yogi
Adityanath for justice.
In the past five years,
total 70 students have
committed to suicide, but
the suicide of eighteen
students in the current
year is worrisome. Prior
to this, in 2019, eighteen
students committed sui-
cide in the entire year.
Kota is the nerve centre
of IIT coaching and at
present 2.25 lakh students
are studying in this city.
More than a dozen coach-
ing centres are operating
in the city and after the
murder case, tension will
set in.
MLA Bharat Singh
Kundanpurhasgivensug-
gestion to solve the matter
stressing that two Collec-
tors should be posted in
KotaandoneoftheseCol-
lectors should specifically
handle the coaching front.
This suggestion has
weightage too.
2004 bath IAS Ravi
Kumar Surpur was Col-
lector of Kota from 2015
to 2017 and had played
the role, above and be-
yond the role played by a
general bureaucrat. In his
two year long tenure, a
total of twenty four sui-
cides occurred. Surpur
had written an open letter
to the parents of all two
lakh students and said, “It
is my unfortunate destiny
that I read the suicide let-
ters of the twenty four stu-
dents. It is my heartfelt
appeal to all parents not to
impose your wishes and
expectations on your chil-
dren. Do not create pres-
sure on them. Let them
choose a subject of their
liking.”
This five page open let-
ter had brought to life
what the movie ‘3 Idiots’
had shown. Apart from
this, Surpur also conduct-
ed regular counselling of
thousands of students and
brought them out of de-
pression. With the slight-
est of information, Surpur
would directly approach
the concerned student.
In June this year, SP
Sudhir Choudhary also
stopped two students
from taking the wrong
course. He reached the
spot with his team imme-
diately on information
and even saved a student
who had hung himself
from a noose within sec-
ond before his arrival to
the spot.
Foregoing Law and Or-
der, Collector and cops
should focus on these
children and try to find
out which students are un-
der depression. The stu-
dents should then be
counselled and the par-
ents should also be imme-
diately contacted so that
this issue is addressed and
the matter is resolved, at
least to some extent.

OPPN'S ‘SELF GOAL' ON MANIPUR VIOLENCE!
PRAVEEN ARON HOPING FOR ‘GHAR WAPSI'?
WILL NANA PATOLE BE REPLACED?
he opposition in Rajya Sabha wanted a
debate on the Manipur violence under
Rule 267, a rule that mandates voting
after a day-long debate in the House, in
which PM Modi's presence in the House was also
mandatory by law. On other hand, the ruling party
i.e. BJP was ready
for debate under
rule 176 under
which 150 minutes
is given for discus-
sion. But, the dis-
cussion under Rule
267 also matters because this rule prohibits the
discussion of other things for discussion on issues
of national importance. But Jagdeep Dhankhar said
that he had been asked to discuss with MPs of
different parties under rule 176, which he has ac-
cepted and time has also been allotted for it. While
some opposition leaders stressed on giving him
a fresh notice for discussion under Rule 267, but
Dhankhar did not agree. Now the opposition camp
is probing those parties who got ready for discus-
sion under Rule 176 under the guise of the ruling
party. Was it a 'self goal' of the opposition?
t the time of the UP assembly elections
in January 2022, former Congress MP
Praveen Singh Aron left the Congress
and joined the SP along with his wife and
former mayor Supriya Aron. Then he had an idea
that the weather would change and this current
situation too, but nothing like this happened. Now
sensing the change of wind, he is again knocking
on the door of Congress. Aron had been seeking an
appointment with SP supremo Akhilesh Yadav for a
long time, but he was told by Akhilesh's office that
'he can present his point to SP's UP state president
Naresh Patel Uttam.' If sources are to be believed,
Aron reached SP's
Lucknow office to meet
Naresh Patel and started
demanding Lok Sabha
seat for himself. It is said
that in return, Naresh
Uttam told him that 'giving
SP ticket to your wife was
a mistake of the party, due to which the cadre of our
party was broken in the entire Bareilly region. We
can't do more damage to the party in the Lok Sabha
elections.' Aron returned from there with a sullen
face, went out and called up his old friend Salman
Khurshid and sought an appointment with him.
Then Aron reached Delhi the same day to meet
Salman. Salman put a condition in front of Aron and
said that ‘before entering Congress, he will have to
give in writing that he has nothing to do with Nehru
Yuva Kendra'. After receiving ‘unconditional letter'
from Aron, now Nehru Yuva Kendra monitoring is
being done by AICC. Salman has assured Aron
that ‘he is talking to Kharge about his return into the
party and till then he should sit quietly'.
here are speculations of a major reshuffle in the Congress organization and
in this regard there is also talk of changing several state presidents. Its latest
victim could be Maharashtra Congress President Nana Patole. In view of
the turn of events in Maharashtra, the Congress
high command has asked CLP leader Balasaheb Thorat
to ‘propose the name of Vijay Wadettiwar for the Leader
of the Opposition', a position vacated by Ajit Pawar's
switch. So it is believed that Vijay Wadettiwar will now be
the Leader of the Opposition in the Maharashtra House.
But now a crisis has also arisen in front of the Congress,
as Nana Patole also comes from Vidarbha region and
now Vijay Wadettiwar, who has become the Leader of
the Opposition, is also a resident of Vidarbha. So, the loss of Nana Patole's chair is
believed to be certain. Ashok Chavan's name is coming out for the new state president
of Congress and he may prove to be the dark horse in this matter.

PM MODI'S ‘PERSONA' RILES CONGRESS IN MADHYA PRADESH
here is an old Turkish proverb
– 'The forest was being cut, yet
all the trees were voting for the
axe, because the trees were
thinking that wood in axe belongs to their
society.' In the next few months, votes
will be cast in Madhya Pradesh too, so
there is a preparation to repeat the Turkish
proverb here too. The votes of ST and
SC community are very important in the
politics of MP, because here 47 assembly
seats are reserved for STs and 35 seats
are reserved for SCs. The total number of
seats is 82, which is enough in terms
of counting force for electoral success
or defeat any party in the state. The
Bundelkhand, Malwa, Gwalior-
Chambal division area is dominated
by scheduled castes. To woo
them, former Cong MP
and current District Prez
Anand Ahirwar had
been preparing for
a big rally in Sagar
district's Nariavali
assembly constituency for last two months.
This rally was proposed on Aug 13, in
which several Congressmen including
Kamal Nath Big leaders were about to
attend. When Ahirwar was elected as the
MP, he was successful in setting up an oil
refinery in his area, due to which he also
has some influence in his area. Seeing the
threat of the Congress rally, CM Shivraj
Singh Chouhan convinced PM to come
here on Aug 12 to lay the foundation stone
of Sant Ravidas temple to be built at a cost
of Rs 100 crore in Nariavali itself. On
Feb 8, Chouhan had announced
to build a grand temple here.
Now there is so much elation
about the arrival of the PM on
August 12 that the Congress has
to cancel its proposed meeting
on August 13. From JP
Aggarwal to Kamal
Nath, everyone talked
to Ahirwar and asked
him to advance the
date of the rally.

  • 4. METAMORPHOSIS INDIANDEFENCEPRODUCTION lot has happened in Jammu Kashmir during the four years it has been without the special status it enjoyed under Article 370 of the Constitution. The abrogation of Article 370 in 2019 and the state’s bifurcation into two Union Territories (UTs), which raised the number of UTs to 28, is facing a legal challenge and is before the Su- preme Court. What the abroga- tion of the controversialArticle has done is to give the Union Territories a more robust Indi- an identity, almost ended the anti-India activity and curbed terrorism. Targeted killings, es- pecially of Kashmiri Pandits, remains an area of concern for the security agencies. Having carried out delimita- tion of constituencies and start- ing the process of expanding the list of Scheduled Tribes to include others, besides Gujjars and Bakerwals, the government now has to hold elections. Po- litical parties in the UTs are waiting expectantly after their detention and subsequent re- lease. The National Conference and People’s Democratic Party of the erstwhile state have sunk their differences after the Gup- kar declaration and are geared to take on an upbeat BJP with an impressive 75 seats in the District Development Council (DDC) elections. People’sAlli- ance for Gupkar Declaration won 112 seats and the Congress managed to win only 26 seats. The BJP may be expecting more than this outcome if it wants to end traditional politics of Kashmir. The success of the DDC elections was one satis- factory outcome of Article 370’s abrogation. What the BJP must now be aiming for is to get elected and be the first Hin- du party to rule Kashmir. SPIRITUAL SPEAK When meditation is mastered, the mind is unwavering like the flame of a lamp in a windless place. BHAGVAD GITA ince independ- ence, the goal set by our national leaders was of self-reliance that propelled India to nurture its development and gradually en- large its defence industrial base to protect its borders against foreign aggression. But at the time of independence, the de- fence infrastructure and equip- ment what India inherited was, what was left behind by the colonial ruler. After meeting the basic needs of social justice and infrastructure, in 1958, the ordnance factories set up by the English formed the core group of industries for production of defence equipment. Conse- quently, Technical Develop- ment Establishment of the In- dian Army and the Directorate of Technical development and production under defence sci- ence production merged to- gether to establish DRDO. As we all know, India’s com- mitment to Panchsheel and non-alignment in the era of cold war, the defence obvi- ously was not considered as a prime agenda for allocation of resources. However, the re- verses and set backs of 1962 Indo China war provided the right impetus for India’s de- fence industry. Over the period of 74 years, successive govts increased the defence expendi- ture from 92.74 crore in 1947 to almost 5.94 lakh crore in current budget. Though, the Indian armed forces are responding to the se- curity needs in the region and beyond to address issues of country’s sovereigntyandinteg- rity, the speed of upgradation and modernization of our forces so far, has been rather slow, and technologically, we have not achieved the desired expertise. As India aspires to be a super power in the times to come, it must rely on the fact that all great powers of today support a flourishing arms industry. Unless we achieve self-suffi- ciency and self-reliance in de- veloping indigenous, sophisti- cated, and state of the art equip- ment this dream of being a su- per power would allude us. Today, our country faces the most complex security chal- lenges that span from sub-con- ventional spectrum of warfare to nuclear conflict. Unresolved border disputes with our hostile neighbours, insurgency in vari- ous states and the urban unrest has further highlighted lack of Indian security environment. Therefore, an urgent need was felt for augmenting our de- fence potential on land, sea, and air. The current dispensation at Delhi realized it and decided to give an added impetus to our erstwhile policies of not only producing defence hardware and technology for our country but also a strategic shift towards export of warfare equipment through ‘Make in India’. Developing defence industry requires time, technology, trained manpower and budget. It indeed is a slow process that takes decades before dividends fructify. While in the 1980s, India galvanised its domestic defence industry by boosting investments in DRDO for in- digenous missile systems like Prithvi, Akash and Nag, it also invested in aeronautical pro- jects such as LCA and Light helicopters and Tanks. With the passage of time, by late 90s, an agreement with the Soviet Un- ion was reached to make super- sonic cruise missile ‘Brahmos’, through a joint venture. The beginning of 21st cen- tury saw noticeable increase in India’s defence budget alloca- tion. By the time 2015 ended, India was perceived by the world amongst seven largest military spending nations. There were no holds bar and by the end of another year, India clinched the title of being the fourth-largest military spend- ing nation. It was in these two years of 2015 – 16 that renowned com- panies ie; Airbus and Boeing started collaboration with Ma- hendra Defence Systems and TataAdvanced Systems. Lock- heed Martin, and Safran soon established their presence in the Indian market to manufac- ture military hardware. Shortly enough, fast-track projects like undocking of six Scorpene diesel-electric attack submarines and induction of Tejas in IAF demonstrated the capabilities of our scientists and resolve of our leaders. As on today, India has signed MoUs with more than 20 countries in- cluding United States qualify- ing for license-free access to a wide range of technologies. Obviously, this has not been achieved without hiccups. May it be moving out of fifth gen- eration stealth fighter aircraft manufacturing with Russia or failure of seven big ticket ‘Make in India’ projects like Mirage fighters in early 2000 or a few Naval projects like P751 or the light utility helicopter Kamov, all failed to see the light of the day. Nevertheless, the giant strides taken by our defence industry in exporting of equip- ment like Tejas, off shore patrol vessel Barracuda, light weight Torpedoes or Artillery ammu- nition are adequate evidence for inching towards being a su- per power in next few decades. The incorporation of private sector in manufacturing de- fence systems has proven to be a master stroke in this field. • 8. STUDENT SUICIDES IN KOTA Can bureaucracy actually end suicides? Rajendra Chhabra Jaipur he incidents of suicide of stu- dents in Kota have become extremely worrisome as one after the other such incidents are coming to light. Two incidents have already happened in the month of August and from January 2023, a total of eighteen students have committee suicide. The incident of August 3 has taken a new turn as theparentsofthedeceased Manjot Chhabra believe that their child has been murdered. They have reg- istered a FIR against the owner of PG, Manager and one student while naming a few more indi- viduals in the FIR under section 302 and 120 of IPC.Theparentshavealso appealed to UP CM Yogi Adityanath for justice. In the past five years, total 70 students have committed to suicide, but the suicide of eighteen students in the current year is worrisome. Prior to this, in 2019, eighteen students committed sui- cide in the entire year. Kota is the nerve centre of IIT coaching and at present 2.25 lakh students are studying in this city. More than a dozen coach- ing centres are operating in the city and after the murder case, tension will set in. MLA Bharat Singh Kundanpurhasgivensug- gestion to solve the matter stressing that two Collec- tors should be posted in KotaandoneoftheseCol- lectors should specifically handle the coaching front. This suggestion has weightage too. 2004 bath IAS Ravi Kumar Surpur was Col- lector of Kota from 2015 to 2017 and had played the role, above and be- yond the role played by a general bureaucrat. In his two year long tenure, a total of twenty four sui- cides occurred. Surpur had written an open letter to the parents of all two lakh students and said, “It is my unfortunate destiny that I read the suicide let- ters of the twenty four stu- dents. It is my heartfelt appeal to all parents not to impose your wishes and expectations on your chil- dren. Do not create pres- sure on them. Let them choose a subject of their liking.” This five page open let- ter had brought to life what the movie ‘3 Idiots’ had shown. Apart from this, Surpur also conduct- ed regular counselling of thousands of students and brought them out of de- pression. With the slight- est of information, Surpur would directly approach the concerned student. In June this year, SP Sudhir Choudhary also stopped two students from taking the wrong course. He reached the spot with his team imme- diately on information and even saved a student who had hung himself from a noose within sec- ond before his arrival to the spot. Foregoing Law and Or- der, Collector and cops should focus on these children and try to find out which students are un- der depression. The stu- dents should then be counselled and the par- ents should also be imme- diately contacted so that this issue is addressed and the matter is resolved, at least to some extent. T NEWS 07 www.firstindia.co.in firstindia.co.in/epapers/jaipur thefirstindia thefirstindia thefirstindia Jaipur, Sunday | August 6, 2023 OPPN'S ‘SELF GOAL' ON MANIPUR VIOLENCE! PRAVEEN ARON HOPING FOR ‘GHAR WAPSI'? WILL NANA PATOLE BE REPLACED? he opposition in Rajya Sabha wanted a debate on the Manipur violence under Rule 267, a rule that mandates voting after a day-long debate in the House, in which PM Modi's presence in the House was also mandatory by law. On other hand, the ruling party i.e. BJP was ready for debate under rule 176 under which 150 minutes is given for discus- sion. But, the dis- cussion under Rule 267 also matters because this rule prohibits the discussion of other things for discussion on issues of national importance. But Jagdeep Dhankhar said that he had been asked to discuss with MPs of different parties under rule 176, which he has ac- cepted and time has also been allotted for it. While some opposition leaders stressed on giving him a fresh notice for discussion under Rule 267, but Dhankhar did not agree. Now the opposition camp is probing those parties who got ready for discus- sion under Rule 176 under the guise of the ruling party. Was it a 'self goal' of the opposition? t the time of the UP assembly elections in January 2022, former Congress MP Praveen Singh Aron left the Congress and joined the SP along with his wife and former mayor Supriya Aron. Then he had an idea that the weather would change and this current situation too, but nothing like this happened. Now sensing the change of wind, he is again knocking on the door of Congress. Aron had been seeking an appointment with SP supremo Akhilesh Yadav for a long time, but he was told by Akhilesh's office that 'he can present his point to SP's UP state president Naresh Patel Uttam.' If sources are to be believed, Aron reached SP's Lucknow office to meet Naresh Patel and started demanding Lok Sabha seat for himself. It is said that in return, Naresh Uttam told him that 'giving SP ticket to your wife was a mistake of the party, due to which the cadre of our party was broken in the entire Bareilly region. We can't do more damage to the party in the Lok Sabha elections.' Aron returned from there with a sullen face, went out and called up his old friend Salman Khurshid and sought an appointment with him. Then Aron reached Delhi the same day to meet Salman. Salman put a condition in front of Aron and said that ‘before entering Congress, he will have to give in writing that he has nothing to do with Nehru Yuva Kendra'. After receiving ‘unconditional letter' from Aron, now Nehru Yuva Kendra monitoring is being done by AICC. Salman has assured Aron that ‘he is talking to Kharge about his return into the party and till then he should sit quietly'. here are speculations of a major reshuffle in the Congress organization and in this regard there is also talk of changing several state presidents. Its latest victim could be Maharashtra Congress President Nana Patole. In view of the turn of events in Maharashtra, the Congress high command has asked CLP leader Balasaheb Thorat to ‘propose the name of Vijay Wadettiwar for the Leader of the Opposition', a position vacated by Ajit Pawar's switch. So it is believed that Vijay Wadettiwar will now be the Leader of the Opposition in the Maharashtra House. But now a crisis has also arisen in front of the Congress, as Nana Patole also comes from Vidarbha region and now Vijay Wadettiwar, who has become the Leader of the Opposition, is also a resident of Vidarbha. So, the loss of Nana Patole's chair is believed to be certain. Ashok Chavan's name is coming out for the new state president of Congress and he may prove to be the dark horse in this matter. In the next few months, votes will be cast in Madhya Pradesh too, so there is a preparation to repeat the Turkish proverb here too. The votes of ST and SC community are very important in the politics of MP, because here 47 assembly seats are reserved for STs and 35 seats are reserved for SCs. The total number of seats is 82, which is enough in terms of counting force for electoral success or defeat any party in the state. The Bundelkhand, Malwa, Gwalior- Chambal division area is dominated by scheduled castes. To woo them, former Cong MP and current District Prez Anand Ahirwar had been preparing for a big rally in Sagar district's Nariavali assembly constituency for last two months. This rally was proposed on Aug 13, in which several Congressmen including Kamal Nath Big leaders were about to attend. When Ahirwar was elected as the MP, he was successful in setting up an oil refinery in his area, due to which he also has some influence in his area. Seeing the threat of the Congress rally, CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan convinced PM to come here on Aug 12 to lay the foundation stone of Sant Ravidas temple to be built at a cost of Rs 100 crore in Nariavali itself. On Feb 8, Chouhan had announced to build a grand temple here. Now there is so much elation about the arrival of the PM on August 12 that the Congress has to cancel its proposed meeting on August 13. From JP Aggarwal to Kamal Nath, everyone talked to Ahirwar and asked him to advance the date of the rally. T T A T WHATWILLHAPPEN TORAHUL'S‘YATRA'? he Supreme Court has presented an incomparable example to the nation in the matter of cancellation of Rahul Gandhi's membership. Ever since the rendering of this supreme vision, the Congress's spirits are on the seventh sky. Now senior Cong leader Digvijay Singh wants 'Rahul Gandhi to start the concluding session of his Bharat Jodo Yatra'. Rahul's proposed yatra is to reach Northeast India from Porbandar in Gu- jarat. This 'Porbandar to Northeast' yatra of 1000 kms is to start from Oct 2, the day of Gandhi Jay- anti, and continue till Feb 2024. But most of the top Congress leaders includ- ing Cong Prez Kharge are trying to convince Rahul that 'he does not need to completely immerse himself in this journey, because the general elec- tions in country are going to be held in coming few months i.e. in April-May 2024 and for that Rahul will need to travel to differ- ent parts of the country. There will be a need to create a nationwide atmosphere against BJP. At that time, the winter session of Parliament will also be going on, where Rahul can speak on a bigger platform. Congress strategists believe that 'Rahul will have to follow Modi's 'guerrilla campaign policy' in this matterlike he did in Haryana.
