2. QUESTION 1
Question 1 is in relation to
my music video alone. I
wanted to know if I was
successful in representing
the genre of my product. My
music video is from the
Indie/Indie Rock genre, so
as you can see from these
results,I have clearly
represented my genre well,
as all of my answers
included Indie.
3. QUESTION 2
Question 2 was about the style of
my music video and if my lyrics
were represented through my shots
or not. This feedback showed me
that I have included lots of shots
that reflect the ‘unsteadiness’ of
Connie, like the ink drops and the
sky, which are both things that
cannot be recreated the same way
they were and are always
changing. However, if I were to do
another edit of my music video, I
would add more of these shots or
repeat the ones I have with
different effects to really get the
emotions the lyrics across.
4. QUESTION 3
For question 3, I aimed to know if my
audience thought that there was a
narrative to my music video, or not. If
so, I wanted to see if they could identify
the narrative for what it actually is, or if
they have a different interpretation of
the narrative. I think that I represented
my narrative pretty well, as almost all of
my respondents thought that I was a
narrative, and was able to identify that
my video was about a girl who is
dealing with her parents separation,
and is having flashbacks of how her life
used to be. The ink drops, sky, etc. are
all used to represent her unstable
thoughts.
5. QUESTION 4
I then wanted to know if my target
audience would watch my music video
again. My feedback showed me that
most of my target audience would for
sure watch my video again, whilst only
a couple said that they would be more
likely to watch it again if there were a
few changes made, like creating a
stronger sense of narrative. In my
opinion, this shows me that my video
appeals to my target audience, as
almost all of them would watch it again,
which clearly indicates that they
engaged with it.
6. QUESTION 5
My next question was about the genre
of the magazine advertisement and
digipak. I needed my magazine
advertisement to reflect my genre, in
order for my audience to engage with it
and want to watch my digipak. I also
needed my digipak to reflect my genre
so that my target audience would buy it.
From this feedback, I have clearly
represented my genre, as all of my
audience identified it.
7. QUESTION 6
I next wanted to know how my products
worked together, and if there was
continuity between them all. All of my
answers were yes, which clearly
indicates that I have created and
maintained a house style throughout.
8. QUESTION 7
After finding out if continuity was created, I
then wanted to know how my audience
identified that the music video and
advertisements were a promotional
package for my digipak. I created this
house style and continuity in multiple
ways:
- The use of the same image in the
advertisement and digipak front cover.
- The same font in the advertisement and
digipak.
- The use of shots from my music video on
the insert panel of my digipak.
9. QUESTION 8
Finally, I wanted to know if my audience
would buy my digipak and watch my music
video, if they saw my magazine
advertisement. Most of my audience said
that they would buy my digipak and watch
my music video, based on the magazine
advertisement, while a few said that they
would watch the video but not buy my
digipak. I think that I was quite successful
in creating a magazine advertisement that
performs as a functional, persuasive
promotion for my digipak, as the majority
of my audience agreed that they would
buy it.
