1. OPERATIONS CONDUIT AND TERMINATION
Once the well has been drilled and after an evaluation
of the productive potential of the well, the Entubation
and Termination operations will be carried out. The
tubing consists of lowering a pipe (casing), to the
bottom of the well (usually 51/2 or 7 inches in
diameter), which is subsequently cemented to
generate an insulation of the different permeable
areas along the well. This cementing process is carried
out by specialized Service Companies and consists of
placing a cement slurry in the annular space between
the wall of the well and the external face of the
casing. As we said, this cementation aims to isolate
the different permeable zones, preventing fluids from
high pressure areas from circulating to areas of lower
pressure or avoiding the possibility of putting aquifer
layers into production.
