The students from Delhi Public School in Chandigarh visited various locations in Rajasthan like Jaipur, Amber Fort, Ranthambore National Park, and Chokhi Dhani as part of an educational trip organized by EdTerra Edventures. They engaged in activities like block printing, visiting historical sites, jungle safaris, and experiencing local culture. The students learned about Rajasthani history, architecture, crafts, and wildlife through first-hand experiences and found the trip to be a fun and enriching learning experience.

OUR JOURNEY
01.
Jaipur is a city with great architectural splendour. Jaipur was under the rule of Rajputs for a long time and has grand
forts. The food in Rajasthan is also great. Everything in Rajasthan is interesting and has an adventurous history. Both
tourists and students can visit historical monuments in Jaipur and go for a jungle safari in Ranthambore. The safari
helped us to know our environment better and care for it.
We noticed that both Jaipur and Ranthambore are completely different from Chandigarh in respect to its geography,
monuments and wildlife.
We visited the Amber Fort in Rajasthan. It is one of the largest forts in India. The grand walls of the fort protected the fort
from any invasion. We also went to the Ranthambore National Park for a jungle safari. It is a tiger reserve that consists
of eighty-one tigers. The national park is a paradise for nature lovers.
We loved visiting Chokhi Dhani. We were served traditional Rajasthani food. There are many shops in the complex of
Chokhi Dhani where one can play games like bowling and archery at an affordable price. We also went to the Block
Printing factory and Blue Pottery factory at Sanganer. We learnt that the block designs on cloth are made with the help
of wooden blocks. These blocks are dipped in paint first and later pressed on the cloth. It is done multiple times to print
the design evenly on the entire cloth. The technique of Blue Pottery uses multani mitti, raw glaze and quartz. The designs
are made on the earthenware and then the products are baked at a high temperature. Rajasthan is a very good place that
every tourist should visit Jaipur and Ranthambore at least once in a lifetime is a must.

AMBER FORT
02.
Our visit to the Amber Fort was really fascinating and it was different from the other forts we have visited. The Amber
Fort is located near Jaipur, Rajasthan. We were not just roaming around in the fort but learnt a lot about the history of
the Amber Fort. The fort was made of red sandstone and marble. The Amber Fort was commissioned by Raja Man Singh
in 1592 and additions to the fort’s complex were made later by Sawai Jai Singh. The huge fort is around 500 years old.
Everyone should visit the Amber Fort at least once in their life. We learnt that there were different residences for the royal
family for different seasons. It is believed that the king had different staircases connected to the rooms of his various
queens. There are places in Amber Fort like Diwan-i-Aam, Diwan-i-Khas and Ganesh Pol that everyone should see. The
most famous among them all is Sheesh Mahal or Diwan-i-Khas. The king used to hold his private meetings here. Ganesh
Pol is one of the seven gates in the Amber Fort. It was named after the idol of Ganesh made on it. There are many more
places to visit in Amber Fort but these places need to be appreciated more. The Amber Fort is not only a tourist location
but also an educational and historical monument that enables students to learn about the rich culture and heritage of
India. The Amber Fort is a must see location for all architecture lovers.

BLOCK PRINTING &BLUE POTTERY
03.
It was really interesting to perform various tasks as a team in Block Painting and Blue Pottery. For Block Printing, we all
headed to a place that was somewhat similar to an industrial area. Then, we reached a factory made especially for Block
Printing. Each one of us were given wooden blocks with various designs on them. There were also numerous pieces
of cloth kept on the table. We all were given different cloth dyes in colours like red, yellow and black. We pressed the
wooden blocks on the clothes like a stamp. We all made various designs with the help of the wooden blocks. We were
very happy and satisfied with our results of Block Printing. It was a very unique experience to be involved in the process of
Block Printing. Afterwards we went to a place where there were Blue Pottery professionals. We all got information about
Blue Pottery. We learnt that certain colours change their colour a little bit after being heated at a particular temperature.
Then we were given sample tiles on which we painted our own designs. Our team together made various designs. All the
designs were really creative and interesting. We had many colour options to paint like green, blue, brown and many more.
We had a lot of fun. Thank you, good bye and see you later.

CHOKHI DHANI
04.
Our journey was very adventurous and interesting. When we arrived in Jaipur, we first had breakfast at our resort. After
breakfast, we went to the Amber Fort where we were greeted by a bunch of hawkers. In the evening, we went to Chokhi
Dhani. We learnt about various cultural and traditional activities performed in Rajasthan. Chokhi Dhani is an interesting
place where there is something for everyone. There were so many shops selling traditional Rajasthani handicrafts and
other souvenirs. We also saw a folk dance performance. The food was amazing and was served on traditional dishes
made of leaves. The people there were serving food with lots of love. We really enjoyed eating at Chokhi Dhani. We
bought a lot of stuff for our friends and family. The elephant rides and camel rides were a lot of fun. Overall, Chokhi
Dhani is a must visit place for all those who are planning to go to Jaipur. We also want to thank EdTerra Edventures for
organising this trip. We had a lot of fun.

RANTHAMBORE SAFARI
Ranthambore National Park is a tiger reserve that came under the Project Tiger in 1973. It is one of the largest parks
in northern India and also one of the fifty tiger reserves in the country. Ranthambore National Park is huge and has a
variety of animals, plants and insects. There are around eighty-one tigers, hundreds of birds and plants and a number
of other animals such as monitor lizards, sambar deers, peacocks, wild pigs and mongoose. Our knowledge about the
wildlife and jungle increased after visiting the park. We learnt how to track a tiger from its paw prints and the sound
made by other animals. We experienced the joy of being in the lap of nature. We all struggled with the cold morning but
the experience of seeing breathtaking views of the mountains, the trees, the water and listening to the pleasant sound
of the chirping birds was worth all the trouble. The beautiful scenery took our breath away.
The calm, blue-green water reflected the harmony of all the animals living together. We saw various wildlife creatures like
boars, peacocks, peahens and deers. Although many of us were disappointed at not being able to see the majestic tiger,
we learnt that the safari was much more than that because we learnt and discovered a lot of things. We are all extremely
grateful to EdTerra Edventures and our school for arranging this trip. We hope that many other educational trips will be
organised in the future.
