OUR JOURNEY
01.
“A life without journey is like a body without soul”
We all grouped together at the railway station to begin our journey. Some of us were travelling for the first time on a train
and it was exciting. When we reached Jaipur, we checked into our hotel. We went to various places such as the Amber
Fort, Jantar Mantar and Chokhi Dhani.
On the first day, we went to Amber Fort. It is a historical palace built around five hundred years ago. We learnt a lot about
the history of Amber Fort. We enjoyed dancing on the bus and singing. Then we had a puppet show and learnt how to
make our own puppets.
On the second day we went to Jantar Mantar that was commissioned by Sawai Jai Singh II in 1728. We learnt a lot about
sundials. The Jantar Mantar complex at Jaipur has the largest sundial in the world — Brihat Samrat Yantra. We also
made paper sundials with our team. Then we went to Chokhi Dhani. We ate delicious food. We went to Block Printing and
Blue Pottery workshops. Next day we travelled to Ranthambore Fort. It was a long walk, we were very tired but it was a
very good journey. Then we went for jungle safari in the morning. It was very cold but we enjoyed a lot by seeing many
animals. It was a great time with our Journey Mentor, teachers and friends.

AMBER FORT
02.
Amber Fort is a beautiful fort, which was commissioned by Raja Man Singh in the year 1599. We saw Sheesh Mahal that
has thousands of mirrors on its walls. It is also called Diwan-i-Khas and the king used to hold his private meetings here.
It is believed that the queens used to wear very heavy clothes and jewellery that made it difficult for them to walk. They
were carried in chairs by workers wherever they wished.
Amber Fort is an amazing tourist destination and our group recommends you all to visit this amazing place. Amber fort
was very interesting because we had a great time. We got to spend plenty of time with our teachers and friends. We
learnt and explored various new things. Everyone should visit Amber Fort because it is a very attractive and historical
place. Amber Fort is also one of the most amazing forts in Jaipur. We all enjoyed visiting the fort and we would love to
visit this place again some day.

BLOCK PRINTING &BLUE POTTERY
03.
Unlike all the other activities, we put our thoughts and creativity in Block Printing and Blue Pottery. We were exposed to
Jaipur’s cultures and handicrafts. We were fascinated by the various techniques of both the arts.
Let’s start with Block Printing. We were absolutely fascinated by it. We got the opportunity to design our own artefacts
with a different range of colours such as cobalt blue. Through our imagination and individuality, we engaged ourselves in
Block Printing and made captivating pieces. We put the wooden blocks in paint and pressed the blocks on a white cloth.
We were stunned by the beautiful designs. It was a mesmerising experience.
The Blue Pottery was also interesting. It was alluring but also hard to replicate. However, it was all worth it in the end.
We didn’t realise that hours passed by and the sun had already set. It was more than an educational experience, it is a
memory we can’t let go. We weren’t going back just with our artwork, we were taking a box full of memories. Our faces
were full of smiles, the cameras were full of pictures and our hearts were filled with memories. We had a tremendous
experience through the streets of Jaipur and a standing ovation to EdTerra Edventures for planning a wonderful trip.

patterns and designs on cloth as part of our
Block Printing workshop
We felt connected to the Rajasthani
handicrafts industry with this hands-on
workshop
We saw the artisans work tirelessly to create
dizzying symmetrical pattern on fabric with
carved wooden stamps
We first observed block printing and then
tried it for ourselves

CHOKHI DHANI
04.
A small mock village in Jaipur known as Chokhi Dhani is the perfect place to find Rajasthani culture, food and clothes.
We were greeted with music and dance at the entrance. We were mesmerised with the beauty of the Chokhi Dhani’s
complex. Why is it so interesting to be here?
The first thing that makes it so interesting is the scrumptious Rajasthani food that is served to the visitors. For keeping
yourself busy there are different activities like magic shows, photo booths, games and rides.
When we reached, we had mouth-watering Rajasthani food. The staff at the traditional dining area was very friendly. After
dinner we explored the place. We personally found the museum, magic show and dance performance very interesting.
The shops had many souvenirs and the games were also very enjoyable. Chokhi Dhani is the perfect place for tourists
to learn about the Rajasthani culture through its food and other activities. It is highly recommended by us to learn more
about other Rajasthani culture.
Chokhi Dhani is very interesting due to its large variety of activities. It is the perfect place for tourists to learn about
Rajasthani culture. Chokhi Dhani is highly recommended by us.

Jaipur, we experienced a compact version

We were impressed by the traditional dining

new cuisine was altogether a satisfying
experience
A Rajasthani thali is not only about dalbati-

delicacies like gatta curry, kadhi, kair-sangri,
and laapsi

Ranthambore is a huge national tiger reserve in India. We went there on a school trip. We have come back but our
memories are engraved in our heart. Our trip to Ranthambore started on the early morning of 27 November 2022. We
were supposed to wake up at 05:00 a.m. but we were scared that we wouldn’t get up on time to suit up, so we woke up
at 4:30. Waking up at 04:30 a.m. was worth it, as we got coffee, tea, cookies early and got to board the bus as early as
possible. We boarded canters after a short bus journey. We reached Ranthambore National Park, which is situated near
the famous Ranthambore Fort. We started our jungle safari. We learnt that we were allotted zone two of Ranthambore
National Park for the safari. We saw boars, monkeys and peacocks at the beginning of our safari. The moment we
entered the dense forest, we started noticing some rare animals like wild deer, alligators, leopards and tigers. The tigers
and leopards were the hardest to spot but luckily, some groups saw tigers and were kind enough to brief us to their
location. We learnt a lot. Thanks to all the teachers and Journey Mentors. This was the best week in the whole year for
all of us.
