Nifty Intraday
Today, We may witness mild positive opening in Nifty around 8425 level
on back of SGX Nifty and other Asian counters which is trading on
positive note today.
Nifty continued its northward journey for third consecutive day on
Thursday and finished the range-bound day of trade with a gain of
around quarter percent.
Sentiments got support with Finance Minister Arun Jaitley’s
statement that the implementation of the Goods and Services Tax
(GST), coupled with a digitized economy ushered in by
demonetization, will make India’s economy look much cleaner and
bigger. Some support also came with Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI’s)
suggestion of uniform rate of withholding tax for overseas
borrowings, irrespective of type and currency. If the government
agrees, this could lower the cost of overseas borrowing for Indian
companies. Simplifying the levy will improve the ability of Indian
companies to raise money. However, some investors remained
cautious ahead of the release of the Index of Industrial Production
(IIP) and Consumer Price Index (CPI) data for December capped
gains.
Traders were seen piling up positions in IT, Metal and Banking
stocks, while selling was witnessed in FMCG, Pharma and Realty
stocks.

 It was day before yesterday’s spillover effect, Nifty opened on positive note but it was oscillating in 30
point range for entire trading session.
 From intraday perspective stock formed descending triangle whose frame is confined in 8390 to 8420
range. Either side breakout will dictate further trend.
 Momentum oscillator RSI is still intact in its northward trajectory. Sustainability above 60 level has
erased bearish bias.
 Going forward, looking at recent trend Nifty can continue its upward journey and upside potential
can be upto 8450 to 8470 level and support lies at 8350 level.
 After a strong rise Index has taken pause and formed Doji candle which represents indecisiveness at
current level.
 Nifty Bank is approaching to its 100 day moving average and its 50% retracement level which can act as
immediate hurdle for index.
 Momentum oscillator RSI is still intact in its northward trajectory. Sustainability above 60 level has
erased bearish bias.
 Going forward, further positive momentum can be expected upto 19000 level.
