When we are stressed our time management can get lost and our work life balance can
become skewed.
Long term stress can lead to burnout (physical and emotional exhaustion)

especially if you clerk for more than one parish or have
another role/job
one way is to start with the most important job
doesn't appeal - set the timer and just start with 5 mins
or the Pomodoro Technique (25mins of work then 5
mins rest).

Stress is our response to harmful or
threatening situations.
Linked to the limbic system - fight or flight
During a stress response, your breathing,
blood pressue and heart rate increase
You are getting ready to fight or run away

has a range of symptoms
Cognative symptoms - worrying, lack of focus and concentration
Physical symptoms - headches, tense jaw, stomach/chest pain
Emotional symptoms - frustration, irritability, difficult relaxing
Behavioural symptoms - sleep disturbance, nail biting, self neglect,
reliance on alcohol or drugs.

Heart disease - high blood pressure, abnormal heart
