2. Tasks
• BEFORE you start this proforma, make sure you have
exported your 2 videos from Premiere and embedded
from YouTube to your blogger
• Make sure you have sent your blog address [NOT the
login page address] to your tutor
• Once your Key film and test music video are exported
and uploaded you can then clean up your files and
delete the footage from the computer or archive to
One Drive
• Then you can begin!
• Feel free to add extra slides, notes, images, etc where
necessary – make sure you answer the section fully.
Make a point with an example, explain this and link to
other points and your future practice
3. Filming - camera
• List and discuss a minimum of 3 areas you found interesting, difficult, what went
well, what was less successful, etc about using the camera
• I Found acting the script out really fun like been filmed walking towards the
camera etc! The different shots and movements to create the right angles with
the camera was really interesting as it made the film more effective. I think the
mise en scene went really well as we created different creative effects like a
blurred background or increase of saturation. We found Some of the shots
difficult for example zooming in on a certain image was tricky as controlling the
cameras zoom was challenging which then caused some of the different lighting
to change on the camera setting. I feel the less successful would be the cameras
battery as we could of brought a spare battery with us to be more prepared as
we had to rush back which caused timing problems.
4. Filming - people
• List and discuss a minimum of 3 areas you found interesting, difficult, what
went well, what was less successful, etc about working with others on the test
filming
• As I was the one that was filmed I found it really fun challenging the different
shots and angles for example on the staircase I really enjoyed the fact that the
camera was below my feet and it captured me walking towards it. We did this
by setting up the camera with a tripod and the team slowly following me. The
tripod was helpful as it created a sturdy shot that was not Shakey. I think
creating a creative effect with the camera was interesting as we got to play
around with the blurred background and creating effect against the shot. We all
got to put our ideas into play which was really helpful. We found Timing the
acting with the movement of the camera quite tricky as for one shot I had to
walk through the door as someone from the team had to zoom in on the door
at a certain time. This took us a few attempts. The planning stage was really
interesting as we could adapt each others ideas and helped us prep before
filming, for example picking up the key we decided it would be a reoccurring
dream.
5. Editing
• List and discuss a minimum of 3 areas you found interesting, difficult, what
went well, what was less successful, etc about your editing in Premiere
• In editing I found that the music video was really fun to edit as I enjoyed
syncing the audio with the videos. I was expecting it to take a long time as
id never done anything similar before but with help from scott I managed
to challenge it.
• However I did find it hard getting enough clips for the music video as I feel
like we could of done more filming to prevent this. Ill overcome this by next
time allowing enough time to get enough footage. When editing the key
film I found it went really well and I was happy with the amount of footage
we gathered we met the required duration of the video and I also liked
how the lighting and saturation changed throught the video to create a
intense atmosphere
6. Reflections – what have you learned?
• What are the 3 main things you think you have learned from these
exercises?
• The main thing I learned from these tasks is that Working in groups
can be really helpful as you can share each others ideas through the
group and make your project the best it can be. It also helps with been
able to challenge yourself to lots of different lighting and mise en
scene
• I found using premiere pro really helpful as I learnt a lot about editing
the different
7. Action Points
• Make 5 action points from the work you’ve done here that you will be
considering and using in your music video project [it could be a
technical aspect with equipment, time management, working with
others, planning, etc]
