2. What have I learned during the
making of my preliminary task?
• The first thing I learnt was how to use a tripod effectively ,to
get the best shots and also a wide range of shots.
• I also learnt how to use camera correctly , I knew vaguely how
to use a camera before but I now know how to use the
features of the camera to achieve good shots .
• I learnt how to manage time , our group had planned which
scenes we were going to film in each lesson and the shots we
were going to use in these shots. This allowed us to get our
filming done quickly and efficiently and therefore left more
time for editing.
3. What have I learned during the
making of my preliminary task?
• I also learnt how to work well in a group, we
established each others strengths for example
Sam's strength was editing, my strength was
acting and some filming. and Joes strength
was also acting.
• I also learnt how to edit clips together and add
effects is using Premier Pro.
4. Continuity
This was our only continuity error .We filmed this clip in two separate parts on two different
days. As you can see on the first day joe wore a black t shirt and on the second he wore a
brown t shirt therefore creating a continuity error. This shows we can identify continuity
errors as a group . Now we have shown we can identify them we will know for future
reference and re film the clip.
5. Areas of success
• When watching the finished version back I realised
the opening of the point of view video with static
intervals created a great sense of a thriller. I also
thought the scene at the very end linked nicely in
with beginning of the video which created a good
sense of mystery , which is what we were aiming for.
• We also planned everything out beforehand (what
clips we were going to shoot in which lessons) this
helped us use the time allocated effectively.
6. Areas of improvement
• An area of improvement I would have liked to
seen would have been a wider range of shots
used. For example we used shot reverse shot,
long shot and a close up of a door handle . I
would have liked to seen more close ups of
peoples faces used to have a more emotional
effect on the audience , therefore allowing
them to emotionally link with our clip.
7. Others Feedback
• Amber Needham:
• What went well: Good use of editing in the
beginning with the static intervals, Amber also
thought that Sam's acting was dramatic and
good. Good use of match on action when Tom
walks into the room
• Improvements: Amber suggested we should
have concentrated on using smoother editing.
Improve the aspect of continuity.
