2. Tasks
• BEFORE you start this proforma, make sure you have
exported your 2 videos from Premiere and embedded
from YouTube to your blogger
• Make sure you have sent your blog address [NOT the
login page address] to your tutor
• Once your Key film and test music video are exported
and uploaded you can then clean up your files and
delete the footage from the computer or archive to
One Drive
• Then you can begin!
• Feel free to add extra slides, notes, images, etc where
necessary – make sure you answer the section fully.
Make a point with an example, explain this and link to
other points and your future practice
3. Filming - camera
• List and discuss a minimum of 3 areas you found interesting, difficult,
what went well, what was less successful, etc about using the camera.
• I used my phone to film all the clips rather than a camera as it was easier to use and easier to
carry around with us when finding good spots to film.
• I found it interesting using my phone to test out the different options and settings for the videos
like a normal video, slow motion and boomerang videos which allowed a cool affect to the video.
• However, the thing that wasn’t so good is that as we all filmed on different phones the quality and
layout (portrait or landscape) was different on some of the clips.
4. Filming - people
• List and discuss a minimum of 3 areas you found interesting, difficult,
what went well, what was less successful, etc about working with
others on the test filming
• Our team got along well, and it had a positive impact that everyone was getting involved to get
the perfect shots for our video.
• However, as we all had some differences in ideas for how we wanted the video to look we had
come across some issues, but we resolved this by applying both into the video.
• We however didn’t speak to each other enough to say if we were doing landscape or portrait so
there was a mix in the clips.
5. Editing
• List and discuss a minimum of 3 areas you found interesting, difficult,
what went well, what was less successful, etc about your editing in
Premiere
• I think with more time it would have gone better as I would have had more time to edit rather
than just putting all the clips together and adding some lyrics.
• I think one thing I did well was getting the timing right and getting all the clips to fit smoothly
together.
• However, I think the editing went well even though didn’t get as much time to edit, I managed to
get the basic stuff done, it was only the effects that I needed to add to it and transitions.
6. Reflections – what have you learned?
• What are the 3 main things you think you have learned from these
exercises?
• I have learnt how to animate text, images/videos and graphics to make them move around and
change size.
• In future I will learn to use a camera more confidently rather than my phone camera as my phone
camera wasn’t that great compared to a camera’s and would have made the final project better
quality than it it.
• I have also learnt to keep to just one framing layout and only stick to landscape to get the best
quality from putting it on premiere to edit it.
7. Action Points
• Make 5 action points from the work you’ve done here that you will be
considering and using in your music video project [it could be a technical
aspect with equipment, time management, working with others, planning,
etc]
• When doing my music video project, I will make more of a plan in advanced rather than just going out
straight away to film without really planning what theme and plan we were going for.
• Learn how to use a camera better and be more confident with it to get a better-quality result rather
than using my phone.
• For the project I will plan better for time management so that I can get enough time to plan, film and
edit.
• I will also keep it in mind to experiment with more effects and features to make the video a bit more
exciting when I do my project as I didn't get to add much to the key video or my music video.
• Next time we will also plan a narrative for the music video rather than random videos put together.
