2. MOTIVATION
What was my main motivation for taking this course?
• I love technology and look at new technology on a daily basis.
• I am subscribed on various different YouTube channels that focus on
the latest gadgets and apps.
• This class has appealed to me because of the technological aspect.
• I was excited about learning how different types of technology can
be used as a learning tool.
4. LEARNING PREFERENCE
ACTIVE/REFLECTIVE [1]
I agree that I am balanced as an active and reflective learner.
My preference is mildly stronger on the active side since I like to apply myself and explain it to
others later. I like to experiment and see the results, but at the same time I'd like to think about it
momentarily before doing so.
SENSING/INTUITIVE [1]
I completely agree with this assessment. Even though it is balanced, it leans just a little towards
being a sensor.
Overall, I have a tendency to go by factual evidence. If there is no proof, I probably do not
believe it is true. I'm more of a historian than a discoverer/traveler. I like the city more than I like
camping if that makes any sense.
VISUAL/VERBAL [11]
I like pictures, that is all. I'm a painter, and I like colors. I prefer to have visuals when it comes to
lectures. Even seeing the words in large typefaces accompanied by relative images helps me
tremendously in the classroom setting. I understand that I'm not balanced in this category and
need to work hard on my listening skills. My mind has always connected images with words, just
like that cliché; "a picture is worth a thousand words," but it's probably worth 200 to me though,
realistically.
SEQUENTIAL/GLOBAL [1]
It's a good thing that I'm well balanced in this category of learning style. I do like to see things as
a whole, but I like the step-by-step procedure of finding the answer. Usually I like to take a
sneak-peek of the answer before solving a math problem. I agree that I tend to jump forward
slightly to understand.
6. ACTIVITIES COMPLETED CONTRIBUTED
OR DID NOT CONTRIBUTE TO ABILITY TO
COMPLETE LEARNING PATHWAY
LEVEL 2 ACTIVITY: Predict, Use, Evaluate
The simple steps of trying to predict a piece of
technology would be helpful in improving my learning
style was a significant contribution in getting a broader
perspective. Using the technology had enlightened and
pleasantly surprised me. Evaluation was great because
from first hand experience using the technology, I would
understand if the technology actually helped me learn
something or could be beneficial to my learning.
8. SYNTHESIZE YOUR EXPERIENCE INVESTIGATING
THE USE OF DIFFERENT TECHNOLOGIES FOR
LEARNING
iPods & iPhones (mp3 Players &
smartphones)
• I used my iPod and iPhone to download and listen to
my marketing lecture whenever I was on the go. My
lectures were available in audio format and it helped
me study.
9. SYNTHESIZE YOUR EXPERIENCE INVESTIGATING
THE USE OF DIFFERENT TECHNOLOGIES FOR
LEARNING
Screencasts
• Screencasts are great as review tools as I can rewind
and go back as many times as I want until I
understand.
• It is great for self-taught tutorials, especially when
learning a new piece of technology.
10. SYNTHESIZE YOUR EXPERIENCE INVESTIGATING
THE USE OF DIFFERENT TECHNOLOGIES FOR
LEARNING
iPads & Tablets
• Because there are a lot of apps available in the app
store, I was able to download a couple of apps like
Evernote peek, which was an advanced flashcardstyle studying app for me. It has helped me study
terms and concepts for my other classes.
11. SYNTHESIZE HOW YOU HAVE INTEGRATED
KNOWLEDGE OF THE PHYSIOLOGICAL
FACTORS OR ASPECTS OF LEARNING INTO
YOUR PERSONAL LEARNING PRACTICES
After this class, I am going to continue get enough sleep
and have more exercise in my daily regimen. It helps my
brain function more efficiently as I have more energy and
my ability to focus is at an all time high. My retention as
definitely improved, and my study habits have as well.
12. SUMMARIZE HOW YOU WILL USE WHAT YOU
LEARNED IN THIS CLASS AFTER THIS SEMESTER
• I will sleep earlier, eat healthier, and exercise
more often to keep my body and mind
healthy.
• I will continue to use my iPhone and iPad as
an organizer and study aid
• Screencasts will help me learn new programs
since I am going into the graphic design world.
13. SUMMARIZE FEELINGS ABOUT EXPERIENCE AS A
LEARNING SAGE
• Overall, I feel that I did get a broader understanding about
all the technologies. Not every technology was beneficial
like social bookmarking, in my opinion because links were
not up to date. I did like using microblogs, screencasts,
multimedia, iPods, and iPhones as learning aids.
• I believe I can continue my college career with a better
understanding and a new outlook. I feel like this course has
proven to me that college can be organized in a better
format to make it easier to digest.
