3. The main story is in the bottom right hand corner. It has a title that stands out in bold red text; this is so it stands out to people, catches their eye so they can read it and then will want the magazine. You can tell that this is the main story as it is a slightly bigger font than the other two stories shown on the page. The masthead is a bold black text where I have used bevel and emboss, drop shadow and a satin effect. This is so the text stands out more and gives off a more 3D effect. The other two stories shown on the front cover are a shade of red, with effects from bevel and emboss, drop shadow, stroke and global light. These effects give the fonts shadows and light to stand out and make it look more 3D. Main Image: On my front cover I my main/background image is of a student sat working on a computer. I chose to take the image like this because it shows a student from the school using the technology that the school offers. She is smiling on the front cover which shows she enjoys learning, also when people pick up the magazine they will notice that she is happy and they will see they facilities that the school offers.
4. Contents Page The logo is placed in the top left hand corner; I have this on the contents page as it looks more apart of the school. I have chosen a black font for the title of the page ‘Contents’, and again I have used bevel and emboss with drop shadow. Down the left hand side I have placed the pages that are going to be in the magazine with the page numbers. To the right hand side I have two images with students placed around the school which goes with the titles of the other pages through the magazine. For the text I have just chosen a plain black font with no effect on, this is because they don’t need to stand out as much as the title does. Across the bottom of the page I have an image of students all looking up towards the camera. I think this is quite and effective image as it is different compared to the other photos taken throughout my magazine.
