1. ENVIRONMENTAL ETHICS AND GLOBAL
VIEW ON SUSTAINABLE EARTH

2. ETHICS AND ETHICAL BEHAVIOUR
• A code of moral standards of conduct for what
is good and right as opposed to what is bad or
wrong called ethics.
• ETHICAL BEHAVIOUR
That which is right or good in the context
of governing moral code.

4. ENVIRONMENTAL ETHICS
• A moral study of what is right and wrong with
regards to the environment. Split into three
different schools of thoughts:
• Anthropocentrism
• Biocentrism
• Ecocentrism

6. ANTHROPOCENTRISM
• A human based ethic arguing that humans
possess complete authority over decisions
about the environment.
• Prioritises the well being of humans.
• States that natural resources are open to
human manipulation.
7. NON-ANTHROPOCENTRISM
• Not centered around humans.
• Center could be non human living things or
larger wholes such as species,ecosystems,and
the biotic community as the organized
systems of all living things.
10. ECOCENTRISM
• Definition :Ecocentrism is that holistic
environmental theory according to which not
only living beings, but the whole ecosystem
including the abiotic part of nature is worthy of
moral consideration.

and is to be treated with respect from those
living within it.
• States that the earth and its resources should
be treated as a community rather a
commodity.
