I work under the direction of the QA/QC Manager. Responsible for procuring ingredients according to the specification and
for corresponding with suppliers on a regular basis by performing the following duties:
• Handling the administration of Quality and Regulatory procedures as regulated by the FDA.
• Ensures all vendors accurately complete the New Vendor Questionnaires and Allergen Reports.
• Ensures ingredients are credible compared to C of A and vendor/manufacturer claims.
• Evaluates alternative suppliers for sourcing ingredients. Advises and contributes on matters of product QA, shelf
life, cGMP etc. Ensures that ingredients are purchased at optimal cost and quality.
• Assisting with ingredient receipt which may include inspection, weighing, and maintaining inventory.
• Documents and maintains a database of ingredients, vendors, on-hand quantities, and pricing. Responsible for
maintaining the physical inventory of all ingredients.
• Follows written procedures consistent with the requirements for various Quality and Regulatory standards.
Processes complaints, NCRs, MDFs, and CAPAs utilizing the applicable logs and trending data when necessary.
• Maintains employees’ training records, which consist of: documentation, training records, Training Grid, and
materials. Also, responsible for conducting new hire training to new employees.
• Assisting with document control functions and obtains documentation during regulatory audits as well as assists in
performing internal audits.
• Maintains a team environment with other departments as well as within the Quality Department.
• Serves as a backup to all duties of the QC Associate, which includes:
o Verification of order fulfillment; overseeing packing and labeling operations from a Quality standpoint;
performing QC testing on finished product; and releasing of staged product for distribution.
• Clerical duties such as scanning, filing, sorting, etc.
