2. Pre-proposal
Rationale:
Through the year that I’ve studied creative media I have learned to use different editing software in different categories. All
the projects I have done has helped me learn to what ill put into my final project this year. The main parts of what I have
learned will be used between photoshop frame animation and premiere. My previous game animation will be my main
steppingstone to make my animated film short, this steppingstone will help me refine not only my drawing techniques but also
my animation techniques which hopefully ill be able to produce a nice choppy and smooth animation.
Project Concept:
I’m going to make an animated short film about love. My ideas around love will be a couple that has faced hardship and
barriers through a long period of time, yet they still found ways to show love through the little things. The animation will
hopefully be somewhere between 2-5 minutes depending on the time I have. I’m going to have to research different styles for
animation and different ways that animators animate on things like love. Animation is not easy so I will also research different
ways to learn animation techniques especially on software such as photoshop. I think the research will help my project
because I can learn how to produce a animation in my own style and hopefully it is good enough for this FMP Project.
How will the project be evaluated and reviewed:
How I would evaluate my work would probably be by doing self-evaluations in diaries and producing feedback for myself each
week to work on for the next. This will help me to learn on myself and to produce better work each time I reflect on my work.
3. Skill Audit
Through the course of the project I will take the time to mainly practice on animation and drawing Through experimental sketches and maybe small
animations like walking etc.
I wouldn’t say I’m good at drawing but I have had experience from different things to draw and sketch in a fashion, This project will be a way to test my
skills and make that room for improvement therefore giving a better outcome to my project. I have materials ready to help me improve.
Animation and editing is a weak point in this factor, I know the basics but I don’t know how to make things even better than they could be which is why I
have materials also at the ready where I can learn and experiment upon so I can then create what I want.
In terms of research I believe I am okay as conducting it but I always feel like I can improve and gather more specific research to help further my project. I
don’t believe it’s a total weak point but it is something that will improve.
In terms of evaluation I definitely need to work on getting them done, I will improve on giving self feedback and getting other peers feedback as well.
Time management is the worst quality At hand as I struggle to keep on top of how much time I had and end up giving myself less time on certain things
meaning that I don’t finish some things. In this case I will pace myself at an efficient rate and get work done in better set times.

5. Mood Board Analysis
• All these pictures presented inspire me in many different ways, like
the different types of animation there is and the many different
animators on that mood board.
• One feature on the board would be the short animation films that are
on there. All the short animation films that are on there are award
winning short films that gathered the attention of many people to
watch.
• Another feature is the sketches of people and basic movement that is
included in animation such as head rotation, movement and
expression.
6. Key influences
• One key influence is camila cuevas. She has made countless animations that have shown self improvement for the
many years she has animated and she always reflects on her work and improves on the next. One example of this
would be her series GlitchTale. She started this animated series in 2018 up until present she has refined her
techniques with every episode she made and that improvement shows her reflection.
• Another key Influence is Fernanda Frick H. She produced a hit animated short film that was premiered at the
Nashville Film Festival. The animated short film that she made really touched the heart of her viewers and it was
made on the idea she got from watching a movie about marriages. She thought that when she watched movies
with marriages that only the worst thing to happen is to be married. From that she wanted to break that
stereotypical marriage cycle that’s seen in movies and so created “Here’s the plan”.
