This document is designed to guide teachers or parents to make good use of the song of writing to write a well- organized piece a paragraph or an essay.
1. Teaching Card
Audience:Grade 9 students with special needs
Subject :English / Writing
Objective: Given a prompt, the student should be able to write a well- organized persuasive
paragraph following the writing process criteria.
Teaching Aids: Song, 1 million- dollar- word, writing model, graphic organizer.
Procedure:
1-Warm up: brainstorm about an ad/ or any issue that needs persuasion
2- Application:
First, the students are going to be given a teacher’s model.
They’ll identify the content of a persuasive piece of writing.
They’ll highlight the new vocabulary words to be used. We call these clue words one million
dollar word.
Second, They’ll get another teacher’s model to work with their peers as pair work to identify
the parts of a persuasive writing and get more million dollar words.
Third, the students will be given a promptto work on collaboratively with the teacher’s
assistance using a song to memorize the steps of writing a persuasive piece.
Finally, the students are going to work individually repeating the following songover and
over again to help them in writing the steps in order.

Note:The duration of this process depends on students’ differentiation, but the outcome
will be a well - organizedpersuasive paragraph.
