Audience Profile-Lego Movie
• Primary Audience
– The primary audience would be the younger generation who have seen Lego
through the shows and through the multitude of themed Lego.
– This includes mainly builders since the film is all about being the “master
Builder”. This age would be around 7-15 and would be either gender since
younger children don’t.
• Secondary Audience
– The secondary audience would be adults whom have enjoyed a childhood of
Lego and are intrigued in how they have created there childhood toy into a
film.
– The age would be young adults.
Audience Profile
• Primary Audience
– The primary audience of suicide squad would be
most DC fans since they would be intrigued in how
there favourite “bad guys” have evolved into this
hero esk role.
– This audience would be aged 15-45 and mostly
male but some females.
• Secondary Audience
– A secondary audience could be those who would
enjoy a certain character and are wondering how
they would adapt into the specific surrounding.
– This audience would be the same age as primary
audience aged 15-45 and mostly male but some
females.
Audience Profile
• Primary Audience
– The primary audience would be those who enjoy
the original Manga and Anime and those who enjoy
the type of genre. This can have a varied age range
but would mostly be male.
• Secondary Audience
– The secondary audience could be comic readers
who enjoy looking for a new experience of comics
and stumble across Manga which would lead to
watching the film. These can be age ranged 15-30
since it aspires to around that age in Manga as well
but mostly is for men.
Hypodermic Needle
• Definition
– When something is told so realistically that the people listening believe
everything that is told
• Example
– The radio broadcast for War of the Worlds is one example where the
broadcast was performed so realistically including cuts to different settings
which where the radio station and an observatory. It ended with people
panicking about aliens coming to earth and the worst case was a father who
killed his family to protect them from the “aliens”
Uses and Gratifications Information
• I use news websites to find out what's happening in the surrounding areas to
discover if I need to think about it or if I can just ignore it.
• I read the Harrogate Advertiser for local news
• And Daily mail for national
• It would also give me the opportunity to create conversation to others and find out
others opinion on the subject.
Uses and Gratifications Personal
Identity
• Things relating to my life would be that how when playing video games and my
friends do well in my team and boosts my morale since winning the game makes
me feel more confident and allow me to increase my skill over time.
• Team identity is about when you are proud and happy to have won since it was
your team that got a victory. An example of this is when your football team wins
and your delighted you stayed through the loses to see a win.
Uses and Gratifications Integration and
Social Interaction
• Some social interaction would be when my friends and I go to the cinema and
enjoy the latest film, this creates a more confident environment around others
since if they brought anything up you wouldn’t be left out since you’ve seen the
latest and can have a detailed talk.
Uses and Gratifications Entertainment
• Some entertainment that would be linked to my life would be that I play games
with my friends to enjoy the time spent with them and to give me some escapism
from the real world stress and anger.
• It also allows me to enjoy what people have spent years doing and to create and
look at what I could accomplish in the future if I stick to what I want to do in life.
• We have entertainment to get rid of any negative emotion and to distress from
reality. This in turn gives us the satisfaction of entering our own world of
entertainment and leave the real world problems for another time. This is good
since it creates positive atmospheres and conversation starters. Additionally, it
stops one people from doing dreadful things and prevents a lot of grief in some
cases.
Consumer Generated Content
• Example
– An example would the game destiny which used the consumer comments to
improve the game and add more detailed content that would keep people
entertained
• What are the advantages to media producers?
– It makes gamers want to play the game more if they know that the devs would
listen to the problems in the game and create a more community based game
which people enjoy.
• Why would the audience generate content?
– So that if they can’t create it themselves they can still see there work be put to
use and see others enjoy their work.
