3. Introduction
.
Light is a transverse, electromagnetic wave
that can be seen by the typical human. Like
all electromagnetic waves, light can travel
through a vacuum.
4. Activities
Activity 1: Lights and Their
Spectra
In this activity we used a
compact disc to make a
Spectroscope to explore the
component colors, or spectra
of light emitted from different
light sources
Activity 2: Observing
Diffraction
In this activity we learnt about
diffraction of waves. We
observed diffraction of water
and light waves as they pass
through openings of different
widths

Activity 3: Observing
Interference
In our third activity, we learnt
about constructive and
destructive interference of
waves in 1Dimentions such as
a wave passing through a
string, 2D like water waves, 3D
as light waves.
Activity 4: Observing
Iridescence
We observed that we can see
colors not only from the
pigments of subjects but also
as a result of iridescence. We
learnt that iridescence can be
caused by thin films, as well as
the nanostructure of the
material.

6. Final project

´Introduction
´ We think to design a light signal
in the bicycle because we
noticed a large number of
accidents happened to the
riders of the bicycle and cars
´ We have benefited from Al-bairaq activities that we can
use acrylic sheet and L.E.D bulbs to perform our project
´The aim of our project: design a light signal
for bicycle to decrease the accidents of bicycles.

method and material
Materials :acrylic sheet –wires –LED
bulbs –switches
Method:
1-drill the signs on the acrylic sheet
2-fix the LED bulbs
3-connect the wires with bulbs and switches
4-fix the switches to the steering wheel
5-try the model

Results
´ This project is expected to have several important
results
´ 1-increasing the efficiency of bicycle riders
´ 2-reduce traffic accidents caused by bicycles
especially in cities
´ 3-pedestrian alert for bicycle directions and
avoid collisions

recommendations
´ We recommend that a company adopt this
product FTER IT IS DEVELOPED and put into the
market
´ Cycling companies adopt this idea and add this
model to the bike so that it is part of the bike
because it is important in achieving the safety of
the cyclists and also the pedestrians
