1. Evaluation: Question 4
How did you use media technologies
in the construction and research,
planning and evaluation stages?
2. Research and Planning
Preliminary Task – Digital HD Camcorder used to record
the task and Vimeo to upload the video onto a site without
it being blocked due to copyright
Theorists – To research into the different theorists relating
to music videos I used Google. To present these ideas on my
blog I have used Prezi and Vimeo.
Existing Music Videos/Student Work – To analyse music
videos and music video director’s work I used YouTube to
access the videos.
Case Study/Independent Research – All done using the
Internet
Audience Research - Video uploaded onto Youtube
3. Construction
Song Choices – To access our songs we used Youtube
Moonboard/Lyric Analysis – I used Canva to make the
layout of the information presentable
Screen Tests/Props/Costumes Video – Used a Digital HD
Camcorder to record the auditions and then YouTube to
upload the video
Location Recce – Some of the bird’s eye view shots were
done using Google Maps
Shot List – Constructed on Microsoft Excel
Inspiration for Ancillary Texts – To produce draft versions
BeFunky was used
4. Construction
Storyboard – BeFunky was used to pair all the images
together
Practice Shots – Digital HD Camcorder
Film Schedule – Made on Canva
Filming – Nikon D3300 Camera
Editing – Sony Vegas Pro and Windows Live Movie Maker
Digipak – Canva
Poster – BeFunky
6. Review
Digital HD Camcorder – It was useful for filming some scenes such as the dance
scenes however the quality wasn’t perfect .
Vimeo – I used Vimeo to upload videos and although it allowed me to upload
videos without them getting blocked for copyright it was a hassle to upload onto
the site and not as easy to share/access as YouTube.
Google Maps – Effective in getting the bird eye shots I wasn’t able to capture
PowerPoint/Excel – Helpful with presenting different pieces of information
BeFunky/Canva – Both very useful to making what I presented nice and editing
images
Sony Vegas Pro – Excellent for the editing and hugely beneficial however access to
it wasn’t 24/7 making it hard to edit at times.
Windows Live Movie Maker – Easy to access and edit however not advanced
