How are you using media technologies in the
construction and research, planning and evaluation
                         stages?
• Research-In the research and planning stages I relied mostly on the internet using
sites such as; YouTube, for watching and analysing other music videos.
• I also used YouTube videos to research Photoshop tutorials like the ‘broken glass
     on top of my image’.
• I also used Google, for any research about forms and conventions of R&B videos
and also to collect images. I have used Windows Powerpoint and Windows Word
     to record work and ideas.
• I used a website called SlideShare to upload my PowerPoint to and embed it on
     blogger.
• Digital camera-During the planning stage i also
used a digital camera to take images for our
storyboard. The digital camera was very useful
because it allowed us to upload our pictures
onto the computer straight away using a usb
  cable.
• Production-In the production stage I
used a video camera to film the
footage. The camera had a lot of very
useful features such as the zoom in
and zoom out button which allowed
us to transition from shot to shot and
also to be able to zoom in to capture
detail such as facial expressions etc.
there was also a manual focus feature
  which helped a lot because
  Camcorders using automatic focus
have a tendency to drift in and out of
focus, adjusting the focus to different
elements of the scene. With manual
focus, we could choose what to focus
on, and ensure that the camcorder's
  focus stayed locked in.
• The camera came with a tripod which
made it easier to move the camera
  around to capture the surroundings.
• iTunes- I used iTunes to purchase the track we
  used for our music video.

• I purchased the song on iTunes because I
wanted the track to be better quality than a
  Youtube converted file.
• Photoshop-For my ancillary tasks I used Adobe Photoshop to edit
my images. Using Photoshop I changed the lighting, sharpness and
also adjusted the colour to make look more professional. After I
added the broken glass layer on top of the image then added the
text. When I finished manipulating my images, I wasn’t satisfied as
I felt they didn’t stand out enough so I used an online image
editor called Picnik, which had a variety of professional effects.

• Adobe InDesign-After editing in Photoshop, I then transferred my
images to Adobe InDesign to add the most of the typography.
Adobe InDesign is the best programme for placing text; Photoshop
is good for image manipulation but the text gets pixelated making
it look less professional hence why I used InDesign for the words
on all of my ancillary tasks.
