1. For the first question we asked people what their
gender was. This would help us, so we were able to
understand what gender audience we were mostly
aiming our opening sequence of our movie to. We
discovered that we are going to aim our opening
sequence towards females as a lot more females
were able to answer out questionnaire.
2. For our second question we asked what their age
group was. This will help us out a lot as we are then
able to know what audience we should mostly aim
out opening sequence to. We have found that
people aged between 16-18 is going to become out
main target audience.
3. For our third question we asked people what their
ethnicity was this is helpful to us as we are able to
understand what group of people we can aim our opening
sequence to. We have found that 20.45% of other
responses were White English or White British.
4. Participants occupations?
The majority of the
people who took
part in our survey
are in education
(most of the
responses for other
were student). This
means we will aim
our audience for
16-18 year olds as
they are in
education. We can
do this by having a
young protagonist
to make it more
relatable.
5. Favourite thriller?
This gives us an idea of popular thrillers
for our targeted age group. It allows us to
research and aid our opening sequence on
already successful films.
6. What did you like about the
film?
Most of our
responses indicated
they enjoyed the
cast and storyline
such as the included
suspense. This
allows us to be able
to appeal to our
targeted audience.
7. What did you dislike?
A lot of our participants did not enjoy
the slow paces of the film which lead
to it being boring. This allows us to go
against what they disliked in hopes of
improving the film for the audience.
8. 48% of people who took the survey said they
preferred a female protagonist. It tell us that
most of our audience would prefer a female
character. Because more females took our
survey than men, and our quadrant we are
targeting is females under 25 which should
have female protagonist as more females will
be inclined to watch our sequence as it will be
relatable.
9. The majority of people would prefer a
thriller to be set in the inner city. This tells
us our sequence should be set in urban,
inner city such as in towns. Our audience
would enjoy the sequence more and will
indicate to the audience that it is set in the
present time.
10. Over 80% of the people said they would like
a thriller to be set in the present. It makes it
relatable so for our sequence it should be set
in the present/modern time. It will set the
scene, make the audience feel more involved
and seem current and not an old film.
