Questionnaire Results Analysis
Rachel and Shema
What is your gender?
The first question that we asked our target audience was their gender 72% of our
respondents stated that they were females. This suggests that women are more
interested in the crime thriller genre, therefore we will have to adapt our film to
intrigue women. We can do this by making our protagonist female so that the
audience relate and identify with her. We can also add an emotional element to the
film where our protagonist is desperate to find her father so that women will be more
interested.
28%
What is your age?
The next question was about the age of our target audience, the majority responded
saying that they were 13-17. We will use this information by making our protagonist
this age in order to attract them. Now that we know this information we can market
our film by placing it on social media websites such as twitter and snapchat. We can
also target our demographic by streaming our films at mainstream cinemas such as
Odeon and Cineworld.

What is your occupation?
In our survey we asked the audience what their
occupation was. The result shows us that the
majority of them were students, because of this we
may have to limit what we can show because we will
have to alter our rating to fit the audience age
bracket. The protagonist will also have to be a
student in the film in order to make her relatable
and likeable. In terms of release we have to keep in
mind that because the target audience are
predominantly students the release of the film has
to be on a weekend or outside of term time in order
for ‘Project Eleven’ to be as successful as it can be.

What is your ethnicity?
The next question we asked our audience was their ethnicity, as you can see
the most popular ethnicity is white British. To cater to our audience we must
cast the protagonist as a white female. This links back to the stereotypical
representations of characters in crime thrillers as the protagonist is usually
white.
What is your social class?
Another question that we asked our audience was what their social class was. From
the responses we can see that most of our audience is of the working class. So that
they can enjoy and connect to the film we will attempt to cater our locations and sets
to areas that they would be used to seeing. We will also attempt to include some
middle class characters to balance the results.

What is your favourite film genre?
The results of this question show that the favourite
film genre of the target audience is thriller. This works
out well as we will be making a crime thriller film and
now we know that the target audience will be more
likely to see it as we know that they prefer thriller
films. However, as the horror genre is the third
favourite we will also be cooperating horror elements
into our film such as jump scares or low-key lighting.
Horror and Thriller go well together as they share
some of the same conventions although ours will
definitely be more thriller as it will involve a more
complicated storyline based around a crime.

Where do you view trailers?
This question is in correlation to the others as social media is the most popular choice for where
they view film trailers, which tell us that the vast majority of our target audience are young
adults and students because these are who use social media the most in society. Therefore, the
characters and situations such as going to school will be included in our film so that it is more
relatable
Also, now we know that social media is popular with our target audience, we can advertise our
film on sites such as YouTube, Twitter or Snapchat so that more people will go to see our film as
it is being marketed in a place which is ideal for our audience. Also, we will not be releasing our
film at independent cinemas because they have an 0lder audience which is the opposite of what
we are trying to get. This is altogether make out film more successful.

What is your favourite social media
site?
The answers to this question
help us break down what social
media site will be best to
advertise on. The most popular
sites according to our target
audience are Snapchat,
Instagram and YouTube. This
means that we can place our
film trailer on YouTube so that
it will access more people who
are suitable to see our film.
However, when it comes to
marketing we can place
advertisements on snapchat
and twitter so that even more
people want to see out film.

What is your preferred mode of
transport?
This question again links to demographics and
psychographics. For example, frequent users of public
transport such as buses or trains are usually younger. This is
because it is cheaper to get around that was and that you
have to be 17 to be able to drive meaning that most people
who drive cars are older.
The results to this question also tells us that to place
advertisements on buses and the tube will be a good idea as
not only will it reach a lot of people, it will also target our
own audience that we feel will enjoy our film.

How often do you go to the cinema?
By asking our target audience how often
they go to the cinema will provide useful
knowledge to us as we can choose the best
time to release a film. Since the results
show that people only go to the cinema
once a month, means that we could release
our film on an event day such as Christmas
or Valentines as that is a very popular time
to go and see the film. Furthermore, we
could release the film at the start of the
month so that it will be fresh in the
audiences mind and won’t forget when the
film comes out.
