Essay on Modern and Post-Modernism Architecture
There is often some confusion when people start talking about the post modernism and modernism
in architecture in terms of their philosophical terminology differences. Modern architecture is
known for its minimalism (Linder, 2004); buildings were functional and economical rather than
comfortable and beautifully decorated. The post modernismarchitecture, however, is called a neo
eclectic, significantly assuming the role of a regeneration of period styles for designing houses,
and a never ending variety of forms and characteristics, asymmetrical designs for commercial
buildings (Fullerton Heritage, 2008). An example of these two polar opposites, Less is more made
by Mies van der Rohe in 1928 (Blake, 1976) and Less is a bore made by... Show more content on

Although, most post modernist architects had been associated with modern architects in terms of
training during the twentieth century, they refused most their teachers ideas. In addition, today s
architects cannot deny the modern architecture ways of designing any building. Their design, for
instance, has many philosophical meaning such as constructional, environmental, sociological,
commercial and metaphorical meaning. The main difference between these two schools is that the
architects point of view to any design as a means of communication (Chan, 1997). Modern
architecture, for example, focus on the aesthetics of architectural language, while post modernity
adjust in constant effort to achieve what is more than unity and focus on the traditional concepts,
therefore both schools are in competition with each other. Second basic principle of modern school
is the production beauty by basic technology (Chan, 1997), and this led to a contradiction on the
post modernism architects being attempted to use primitive technology. Their particular case is to
access and change the impact of the traditional architecture through all people. Therefore, to achieve
this goal they have addressed the issues of beauty and technology within the general concept of the
design. Despite different thoughts on the features of post modernism definition, it is clearly seen
that people ,who are interested in beauties, are

Brain Integrity
We don t ordinarily relate innovativeness with brain infection, yet a recent study from best
neurologsit in nyc about Brain recommends that perhaps we ought to. When we consider
somebody influenced by a genuine brain issue, we envision crumbling and loss of capacity,
however a shocking new study demonstrates that a few people may really create masterful ability
as a consequence of their mindissue, and that thusly, their specialty can educate us concerning the
way of their mind issue.
This survey by top neurologist in nyc unites instances of people with neurological conditions, who
with no past imaginative inspirations all of a sudden get to be constrained to make craftsmanship,
and the workmanship is great!
The creators portray an instance of an epileptic man with no imaginative capacity who started to
endure repeating epileptic assaults in which he acted forcefully, couldn t talk or center his eyes, and
carried on of character. Amid these assaults, the patient started to draw suddenly and
enthusiastically, and with exceptional aptitude. For another situation, a 68 year old man had started
to paint at age 56 with the onset of dementia, regardless of never being occupied with
craftsmanship. In the ten years that went after the onset of his dementia, his canvases turned out to
be increasingly nitty gritty, vivid, exact and sensible, and he even started to win honors and awards
for his specialty. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Devil In The White City Character Analysis
Throughout history, pride and determination have motivated people to do amazing things. In The
Devil in the White City, Erik Larson proves that pride and determination aided the creation of The
World s Columbian Exposition.
The Devil in the White City is a novel that covers the creation and construction of the 1893 World s
Columbian Expo. The novel contains two plot lines. The first plotline follows Daniel Burnham.
Near the beginning of the book, Burnham is left alone to work on the project after the death of his
partner, John Root. Through the rest of the novel, Burnham faces many obstacles that threaten the
creation of the World s Columbian Expo. Despite the challenges that he faced, Burnham persists,
and the World s Columbian Expo opened in 1893. After the fair began, Burnham faced many new
challenges, such as turning a profit in a suffering economy. Despite all the obstacles that Burnham
faces, Burnham created a successful fair that pays off its debts and turns a profit.
The second plot line within Devil in the White City follows H.H. Holmes. Holmes buys a
pharmacy within Chicago and constructs a building that aids him in killing people and disposing
of their bodies. The first floor of Holme s building acts as a front, a pharmacy, while the top two
floors act as apartments for rent. These apartments have secret passages, hallways, and chutes that
lead to the basement, making disposing of dead bodies convenient for Holmes. After Jackson park

front of the address, I made contact with a woman claiming to have reported the incident. She
stated her name as Mary Sue Jones. I observed that Mrs. Jones had wounds on her face as well as

Public Support Rhetorical Analysis
Presidential appeals for public support had become a commonplace in 1992. Some examples of
going public are a special prime time address to the nation, televised press conference, traveling
outside Washington. to deliver a speech to a business or professional convention, and a visit to a
day care center with network cameras trailing behind.
Richard Nixon, born January 9, 1913 and passed away April 22, 1994, he was the 37th president of

The Old Testament And The New Covenant
Introduction
With the writing of the New Testament and the New Covenant, many Christians wonder if they are
still obligated to follow the writings of the Old Testament, specifically the Mosaic Law. Romans
helps to answer this question. Paul writes in Romans that the Christian is no longer under Old
Testament or Mosaic Law, but is now under Christ s Law (Rom 7:6 ) and that justification by
faith, not works under the law is what will make a man righteous (Rom 3:28). This does not
mean that the Christian should completely disregard the Scripture, for as it is written in 2
Timothy, all Scripture is from God and is good for teaching, however, Christians need to have a
better understanding of the law they are now to live by. The Mosaic Law still has a useful
purpose, and is still good to know, it is just no longer the rule of Christian life.
Is The Old Testament Important?
Since Christian s have the New Testament, is the Old Testament and its teachings even still
important? Is there anything of value to be gained from reading it? Absolutely. Again, as stated in
2 Timothy, all Scripture is from God and is important for teaching. There is much to be learned
from the Old Testament. Paul cited the Old Testament extensively in his writings in Romans. Paul
s thesis for the entire book of Romans, Chapter 1:16 17 refers to Habakkuk 2:4 with a literal
translation of his writing being the righteous (or, just) person from faith will live. He saw the
importance of the Old Testament

Unknown Phone Calls
Phone calls from unknown phone numbers, and weird, or unknown texts are annoying. They can
also be a bit frightening. After all, when unknown people are looking for you, or want to talk to
you, it can lead one s mind to run wild with possibilities. There might also just be some people who
you know, but just don t want to bother with. Answering an unknown number could lead to a person
being stuck speaking to someone they really don t want to bother with. Well, all that can be a

calls, and texts are no exception, go here for CallerSmart info.
Download this app and you ll be able to look up the numbers and get information on who has
called or texted you. The app works by allowing users to utilize a reverse number lookup. In
many cases, once the number is entered information about the caller is displayed. This gives you
the option to call the number back to speak to someone, or to block the number from being able
to call your phone again. Users are able to report numbers. So if it s found that the person calling
was not supposed to call because of the phone being on the do not call list, it s easy to make a report.

The article Academies of Art; Past and Present by Nikolaus (1973) encompasses the history of
academies in general. Beginning from the Plato s time, the term academy has changed its
connotations. The writing style is eloquent, yet covers the developments on the topic in every era.
The writer used the article as a prologue for the reader to understand the term academyin order to
make sense of the forthcoming chapters of the book. As the term had varied meanings, its reference
in each century has different meanings and background. This summary consists of the description
of the article, comments and discussion on the writing style and author s arguments in the article.

Meanwhile, Renaissance and Antiquity became a synonym of university, which was used
alternatively as its Latin translation academy . As Renaissance was over and was taken over by
Mannerism in art, academies became more loose and informal and grew in number in Italy. Since
1540 even the associations liked to call themselves academies, which further made the
understanding of its connotation complex. In Rome the academy found by Queen Christina
changed the notion further as it became center of activities like reading and criticizing poetry,
literature, performing drama and comedy plays. The author focused the meanings of academy
getting broader. Feastings organized by peasants, lecturing, discussions and research by scholars
were added aims to the academies in Italy. However the term was never used for the entire
university or a school. In schools academies were referred as groups of students tutored privately
by some noblemen. This spread in the use of academies affected the art abundantly after the
Mannerism took over. Artists started to specialize in various genre of art i.e. still life, folk life,
water color etc. in contrast with Renaissance academies the Mannerism academies were organized,
with elaborated rules.

What Is The Theme Of Camaraderie In All Quiet On The...
The Horror of Camaraderie In the book All Quiet on the Western Front by Erich Remarque and
the essay In the Field by Tim O Brien there is a common theme, camaraderie and the horrors of
war. Camaraderie is when soldiers in the war are helpful towards each other when it comes to
things such as survival during the war. Horrors of war can be shown by seeing the death of a
camarade. Since there is camaraderie shown in both of these pieces it exemplifies the other theme,
the horrors of the war because they are often seeing their camarades fall. In the book All Quiet on
the Western frontthe theme camaraderie is shown often. A scene that really sticks out that shows
camaraderie is when Paul and Albert are both shot, and Albert has to get his leg amputated.
When Paul and Albert are on the train Albert becomes feverish and is going to be let off at the
next stop, Paul told Albert we stick together; you see and sticks the thermometer under his armpit
to make it appear as if he too had a fever (Remarque 249). Paul shows camaraderie towards Albert

In All Quiet on the Western Front when Paul separated from Albert it was very hard. But a man
gets used to that sort of thing in the army and since Albert mentioned commiting suicide multiple
times Paul infers that once his friend gets home, he will commit suicide (Remarque 269). In the
piece In the Field Kiowa drowns in the muddy water while they are camped out one night.
Lieutenant Cross, the young soldier and Azar all thought they were responsible for his death;
However, whenever a man died it was always the same, a desire to get over it quickly, with no

In the last few years, the industrial production in India has redeveloped; and especially in the last
few months; as the industrial output expanded to 2.7% compared to that in 2016.
Add to that the increase in the production of capital goods by 10.7%, with the growth in basic
goods output yet at a slower pace.
Annually, the average growth in industrial production recorded an increase by 0.7% in less than a

We can see that India has one of the fastest growing major economies. It is also known as a modern

Future speaking, Focus Economics Panelists expect a 4.9% increase in industrial output for the

this department the XC60 excels buttons and knobs have been carefully placed and are easy to

This SUV s sight lines are excellent, supplying a panoramic view of the road ahead. The rear

When it comes to corruption in politics, no one is immune. Both parties have had their share.
Not too long ago three members of Congress who are Republican were indicted due to political
and financial scandals (Wallis, 2012). Two are currently under investigation and one is in prison
(Wallis, 2012). Part of the problem in these corruption scandals involves the ability of interest
groups to determine policy as well as pork barrel spending (Wallis, 2012). While corruption takes
place at all levels of government, it has been particularly noticeable in the U.S. Congress. In the

Group Identification Definition
Per Anthony Mullen (2016) in group dynamics, norming is part of the group counseling stage
where problems are solved, and group members began to understand the group and respect the
group leader. Using identification and hope in a domestic violence group can have a positive
change on peer relationships within the group(Gladding, 2016). Identification occurs when group
members can relate to another member and hope is thoughts that the future and possibilities will
be better (Gladding, 2016). In a group setting, identification is essential to have cohesion among
the members (Gladding, 2016). Moreover, I believe that if I know others in the group share my

Bourdieu s Power
In order to analyze power within the context of David Mamet s Oleanna and Shakespeare s
Measure for Measure, I will use Bourdieu s theory of power. Bourdieu perceives power to be
shaped by social, cultural and symbolic forms which are constantly changing through the
relationships of agency and structure. The primary way this happens is what Bourdieu termed
habitus or socialized norms which guide behavior and thinking. Habitus happens without
consciousness and is often recreated as social norms change. The setting of these agents and
social positions are located in a field . Within the field, there is a hierarchy of capitals to gain such
as social, cultural and symbolic. Shakespeare s Measure for Measure and Mamet s Oleanna are
plays where... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

William Of Orange And James II And The Glorious Revolution
Background On July 1 1690, William of Orange and James II led their respective armies into
battle at the River Boyne. James II was a Catholic king who gained power in England after King
Charles II died in 1685. Many of James opponents were Protestant, and they were strongly against
the Catholic monarch. James daughter, Mary, was married to William of Orange, and she was
Protestant. For many years, Mary was James only child. This meant that if James II died, she
would take the throne. This brought great comfort to the Protestant groups in Ireland, as their ruler
would no longer be Catholic. However, when James wife had a son, the crown would be passed to
him, and England would have another Catholic monarch. This caused panic and outrage from
James Protestant opponents, which led them to invite William of Orange to invade England and
overthrow James II (BBC: Battle of the Boyne). William accepted, and he and his army invaded
England in November of 1688. The invasion was successful, and William and Mary were awarded
the throne as joint monarchs. This event was known as the Glorious Revolution . For a year, James
II chose not to fight. Many English nobles were taking the side of William. This made James
reluctant to attempt to regain the throne (BBC: Battle of the Boyne).

TDA 3.2 Schools as Organisations.
TDA 3.2 1.1
Summarise entitlement and provision for early year s education. Thanks to the Every Child
Matters and the Childcare Act 2006 all 3 and 4 years olds in England receive free part time (12 ВЅ
per week) for 38 weeks a year. This is government funded and the idea is for all children to have 2
years of free education before they even start school. Early year s provision for these very young
children varies greatly from the education they will receive in KS1 as it is play focused as
opposed to formal learning, which is how these very young children learn best. The Foundation
Curriculum in England and Wales runs from age 3 5 and is therefore implemented in nursery

Explain the strategic purpose of school governors; senior management team; other statutory roles
e.g., SENCO; teachers and support staff roles.
School governors are a group of people (usually between 10 20) who run the school. They are
made up of various people who have links with the school and the community. There should be
at least one parent and one staff member as well as the Head Teacher. Usually there is a support
staff member, a local authority member and a local community governor who work or live in the
area. Governors work alongside the Head and are based on different committees and are
responsible for different areas of school management school site, personnel issues or community
cohesion. They will usually meet in these committees and report to the full governing body. Their

France Causes Financial Fret
France Causes Financial Fret
In the western world the terms president, and prime minister means, for lack of a better term, the
head of a country, the difference is that between Canada and the United States they have one or
the other. Back in the Eastern world of Western Europe, France was the first major European
country to adopt a semi presidential system giving them both a prime minister and a president to
oversee it all (Allen et al. 109). This is accomplished by giving the president the power of political
figure head for the country and allowing the Prime Minister and the government to ...determine and

economic ties and decision making among members of the Union by coming up with a constitution
for the EU and was approved by not only the current president but also 10 other Union states and
Spain (through a referendum), but was rejected by Germany, the Dutch and France (through a

constitution was widely accepted as in benefit of those it meant to protect it was rejected for its
long winded third part consisting of references to liberalization and market building and was

Varsity Vs. Club Sports
The ball is rolling down the field with players from each team chasing after it, who will get there
first? The home team wins the race and passes the ball to their teammate. They settle the ball,
gather their footing, and kick the ball at the goal. The goalie dives and misses the ball as it hits
the back of the net. The team rushes toward each other celebrating the goal with a team hug. Club
sports are just as entertaining as varsity sports yet most people don t see it this way. This is only
one of the multiple differences between varsity and club soccer. Most varsity athletes take for
granted their trainer access and preferential treatment. Yet participants in club sports are not even
allowed to talk to a trainer or use the school vans... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are multiple vans sitting out in the South Parking Lot, that hardly ever get used. There is
no reason why the Athletic Department can t let us use those buses to drive ourselves to games.
They don t need to pay a driver, we can drive ourselves to save money. This is an easy fix and
would make traveling for club teams much easier. It would also eliminate the chances of getting
separated and lost. The Athletic Department may object to this solution because, it is a liability
to the school and will cost the school gas money. However, club soccer fundraises for uniforms,
therefore we could also fundraise a little extra money to fill up the gas tanks for the buses. They
could also make club athletes fill out liability forms, like going on a field trip in high school, that
says the school is not liable for anything that happens. Field space is limited and this makes it
difficult for both varsity and club to find space and time to practice. Take soccer for example. There
are three grass soccer fields available to play on. However, one is called Melucci Stadium and is
used strictly for games and is off limits for practices. Now we are down to two fields, neither of
which have lights. This makes a difference because both varsity soccer teams have a field from
four to six. Now where does that leave club soccer? Well, they let us have the fields from six to
eight, yet around

Drug Content Of Spray Dried Powder Samples
Drug content estimation
Spray dried powder samples (5 mg) were weighed accurately and dissolved using a mixture of
water/ methanol (80:20% v/v) in a 100 mL volumetric flask. The flasks were shaken at room
temperature for 60 min on an orbital mixer incubator (Ratek Instruments Pty. Ltd., Victoria,
Australia) at a speed of 200 rpm followed by bath sonication using an ultrasonic cleaner (Misonix
Inc., NY, USA) for 15 min. The solutions were filtered, and the drug content of filtrates was
quantified by HPLC analysis.
Surface morphology and particle size analysis by scanning electron microscopy (SEM)
Morphological features were visualized using JEOL 6700F FE SEM (SEM, JEOL Ltd., Tokyo,
Japan) at an acceleration voltage of 5 kV. Powder samples were loaded by light dusting onto a
metal stub with a double sided adhesive carbon tape. All samples were made conductive by gold
palladium alloy coating (10 nm) under high vacuum using the Emitech K575X Peltier cooled high
resolution sputter coater (EM Technologies Ltd., Kent, England). Microscopic images were
captured randomly at various magnifications. The geometric mean diameter (dg; n 300 particle
count; mean В± SD) of the spray dried powders was measured from their SEM images (Г—2000

Questions On Financial Reporting Disclosures
1.Introduction
ICAEW made nine recommendations about financial reporting disclosures in 2013 to solve current
disclosure overload problem. This report will mainly argue against recommendation four. Choosing
this prospect because one of the objectives of the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) is to protect
consumers from being taken advantage of by other informed participants in the capital market.
Among all the suggestions, disclosing different reports for different users has the most significant
influence on investors and capital market.
Section 2 of this report will firstly discuss the probability of fraudulent financial reporting and the
fairness problem. Then the information asymmetry problem and the instability of the security market

Assuming public companies are allowed to distinguish classes of users, the decision relevant
information could be split on the basis of different interests and somebody may take advantage of
this loophole to provide fraudulent information for a favourable outcome in stock price.
2.2Example of FFR
According to the most resent report from Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE,
2008), from January 2006 to February 2008, among all types of frauds, FFR associated with
largest average cost which was $258 million, while the second largest was $34 million.
Furthermore, the study from KPMG (2003) and ACFE (2008) all agreed FFR is the least
common but most costly fraud (Carcello and Hermanson, 2008). The estimated annual cost of
FFR in USA is $1 trillion (ACFE, 2008), and this is just under the relaxed disclosure regulation,
which is the Securities Offering Reform, issued in 2005 in America (Clinton et al., 2014). And
FFR is certainly not limited to the United States (Zack, 2009). Hence, FCA considered FFR facts
in US as a lesson and involved in a special project in 2010 in UK to examine fraud in public
companies (Fisher et al., 2010). To conclude, recommendation four could increase the probability of
FFR which could stimulate the stock price, and that will harm consumers and encourage the
unhealthy competition in security market.

Writing Like Me
Writing is a no. I do not like writing and it does not like me. The only good work we can do
together is outside of school. When I attempt it in school, I forget words, how to spell them, and
how to phrase them. It s like being in Kindergarten again or learning a new language. Me and
writing are like, Zordon and the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, if you re into that. Or Batman
and Joker since they re more well known. The point is that we are enemies in constant battle with
each other. An extremely boring and drawn out battle.
If I wanted to bring up any experience I ve had with writing, they would all be leaning to the
negative side. That s if I can remember one long enough to fill a paragraph. For instance, I could
bring up the special group I got put in first grade. It wasn t specifically for writing, but it had
writing involved. Or I could bring up the time I gave the best written speech about penguins by a
second grader. The paper wasn t up to the teacher s standards in the end and the grade wasn t too

It was third grade and I was able to make a sandwich with my words. It was simple phrases like

brought my finished paper up to the teacher and she made me a sandwich off of what I wrote.
The final product was real food. I got to eat!!! The amount of joy that came to me was unseen by
myself before that moment. And it was because of writing. Then there were the less fortunate
people who weren t as lucky and ended up with a jar of jelly on a slice of bread. I felt like hot stuff.

Shingles On The Roof Research Paper
What To Do About Damaged Shingles On Your Roof
Replacing a loose shingle is a common type of roof repair you may have to make, especially if
you have trees that grow too close to your roof. When tree branches scrape the shingles, they lift
up the edges and the shingles eventually curl. Then the wind catches them during a storm and
finishes ripping the shingles off the roof. Even if the shingles aren t missing completely, you still
want to repair them when you notice they are twisted out of place or curled up on the ends. Here s
how to go about making these roof repairs.
DIY Or Call A Contractor

Don t climb up on your roof unless you are confident in your ability to climb a ladder and walk
around on the roof without slipping.
Making The Repairs
You can buy all the supplies you need for roof repairs at a home improvement store. It may be
difficult to find an exact color match if your shingles are old and faded due to sun exposure, so
you ll have to do the best you can. In addition to shingles, you ll need roofing nails, a crowbar,
hammer, and roofing adhesive. In places where a shingle is completely missing, you can slide a
new one into the empty space and nail it down using the same nail holes used for the old shingle.
If a shingle is badly curled or cracked, decide if you want to replace it or repair it. Replacing it
might be quicker if you have extra shingles on hand. Use the crowbar to pry up the old shingle.
Pull the nails out, and then slide in the new shingle and nail it in place. If you want to repair the
shingle instead, all you have to do is put roofing adhesive under the curl or over the crack. Place a
brick over the curled portion of the shingle to hold it in place until the adhesive

however, hold distinct differences. The differences between Great Expectationsand the Parable of

In the beginning of Great Expectations seven year old Pip meets an escaped convict in the
graveyard one night. The convict is recaptured, but it remains something Pip dwells on for the
rest of his life. Several years later an elderly woman named Miss Havisham and her adopted
daughter Estella invite Pip to visit. Estella berates Pip for being common. Following this
encounter, Pip is unhappy with his life until he is told some unnamed benefactor has given Pip
a fortune. Pip is whisked away to London where he wastes his money and finds himself in debt.
In the parable, the story begins with the son receiving his inheritance from his father. The son

a life of dissipation (Luke 15:13). Pip lives in London for several years until he discovers his

and Joe s wife Biddy, then returns to London to make an honest living with his friend Herbert.

Presidential Elections And The Political Integration Of...
The 2016 Presidential Elections and the Political Integration of Data Analytics The 2016
election cycle pits Democrat Hillary Clinton against Republican nominee Donald J. Trump.
After the success of Barrack Obama s data analytics, Clinton continued their adoption of data
analytics, this time developing a new algorithm called Ada after the female, 19th century
mathematician, Ada, Countess of Lovelace (Wagner, 2016) and having Obama s former data
analytics director, Elan Kriegel, as one of the highest paid staff of her campaign (Goldmacher,
Hillary Clinton s Invisible Guiding Hand , 2016). Clinton s dependence with analytics is so
entrenched that a lot of their campaign decisions are based upon the results of Ada s 400,000
simulations per day on what a head to head with Trump would look like. Moreover, Ada, played
a vital role in determining the television ad buys, the deployment of the candidate and her
surrogates up to when to be scarce and be silent on the issues. Even the staging of concerts with
artists like Jay Z and BeyoncГ© was chiefly based upon Ada s data driven analysis (Wagner,
2016) (Goldmacher, Hillary Clinton s Invisible Guiding Hand , 2016). Contrary to the Clinton
campaign, Trump is not quick to adopt big data in his presidential bid. The Republican nominee
has always been critical towards data analytics and heavily relied on his own appeal. I ve always
felt it was overrated, Trump said in an Associated Press interview. Obama got the votes much more

Racial Discrimination And Diversity In Division I Football
Over the years, the United States has been considered a melting pot of nationalities and
ethnicities, but from the beginning, the white race has perceived themselves as a superior race,
enforcing their power over other races through slavery and racial segregation. Today, we believe
that the United States has made leaps and bounds toward total racial equality. We see evidence of
this in the workplace, schools, and athletics, but there are still some problems that need to be
addressed. Therefore, I am writing to you to inform you as NCAA president of the standing of the
NCAA and its diversity of head coaches in Division Ifootball. This memo seeks to explore the idea
that minorities are not fairly represented or retained in Collegiate level head coaching positions. I
will demonstrate this by showing racial demographics, head coach position retention, assistant
coach to head coach retention studies, football position correlation to coaching positions, and social
aspects.
Racial Demographics
The NCAA has made noticeable progress toward racial equality in the ratio of black to white
players in Division I football. In 2008, black athletes only made up about 36 percent of the
student athlete population in Division I football, while in the 2017 season, 39 percent of football
players are black (NCAA). If you do not include historically black colleges and universities, you see
that blacks take over whites from 46 percent on 2008 to 52 percent in 2017. All demographic data

Strengths And Weaknesses Of Personality Traits
Most personality theories share a common interest in traits. Theorists have become fascinated with
traits, as they essentially tell us what makes us, us. Perpetual features within us demonstrated by
our actions within everyday life. Trait theory aims to assess personality, whilst identifying and
measuring the extent of particular repetitive personality traits for example shyness and analysing
how much these traits vary from person to person. Trait theoryis perhaps the most widely used
perspective when it comes to analysing personality and it vastly differs in comparison to other
theoretical perspectives. In order to test the validity of trait theories this essay will identify its key
theories, focusing on how personality traits are defined and measured. These will include Allport s
central traits, Cattell s sixteen personality factors, Eysenck s EPQ three dimensions and the big five.
Unveiling the differences between trait theories, looking at application of trait theory, whilst
identifying its strengths and weaknesses, as well as uncovering the personality paradox alternative
perspective to trait theory in order to test trait theories validity.
Allport was a dominant theorist during the early stages of personality analysis within the psychology
field, he searched through a dictionary, choosing from it over 4,000 words which can be used to
define personality. He then took this colossal amount and subdivided it into three key sections. As
he believed personality to

Parole Officers And The Prison System
The world we live is constantly changing whether we are on the streets or in the prison system.
Society doesn t understand that being in the prison is the almost the same as being on the streets.
For instance, there are inmates that sell drugs and rob and kill people and cover it up just as if
they were on the streets. There are correctional officers that work there, but they can t observe
everything that goes on in the prison system. This is one of the reasons that being a parole officer
would be a good job to have. The streets are already bad enough so taking some of the bad guys
off the streets can help get the community back under control. Parole officer not only help in the
streets the help in the court house. Parole officers can help the judge make decisions on what the
inmate should be given whether its freedom or jail time. Parole officers have allot of offenders to
keep in contact with when they have not had contact with the offender this becomes a violation
and their parole can be revoked. (https://pap.georgia.gov/parole violations revocations) In the

guidelines for parole and they were sent back to prison to finish their sentence. When an offender

Philosophy of Science Mid term Essay Professor: Dr. Herman C.D.G. de Regt By: V. V.
Budiman ANR: 238183 Word count: 1264 Disciplines, or the so called rules in determining what
science is and what is not has made it difficult for economics to be considered as science. But
how reliable are the rules in determining what is science and what is not? If one is forced to use
verifiability or falsifiability, then one can conclude that International Business Administration (IBA)
is indeed not science. On the other hand, the theories proposed by Thomas Kuhn, which was more
of a historian of science than a philosopher of science, can oppose the criteria that considered
economics as a non science. In this essay, the philosophy of Kuhn will be... Show more content on

In 2003, Concorde was retired. The main reason is because it is very inefficient in terms of
gasoline, distance and passengers, and the profit was little. The second era, which involves
Boeing 777 300ER, was very different compared to Concorde s era. The main focuses of
airplane performance are great range, higher number of passengers, passenger comfort and
higher fuel efficiency. Boeing tried to make the airplane more efficient because gasoline
nowadays are more expensive per gallons, which is $3.48 per gallon, while usage of cars, boats
or airplanes are higher than the past. Therefore, it created an airplane that is not only fuel
efficient, but can travel a great distance. At the period when the Concorde was made, traveling by
plane was not something that was considered affordable. Consequently the number of passengers
was limited, thus making airplane manufactures unpressured to make bigger planes. However,
progressing into the 1990s, air travel became cheaper and accessible for more people, requiring
airline companies to carry more people on existing routes. Consequently aircraft manufacturers are
forced to create larger capacity airplanes. Based on this new paradigm and demands from airline
companies, the Boeing 777 was conceived. The new airliner permits approximately three times of
the capacity of the Concorde while allowing much greater

13th Amendment Ethos And Logos
The Thirteenth Amendment of the United States Constitution abolished all forms of slavery, except
as a punishment for crime, but filmmaker Ava DuVernay wants Americans to look at the small
loophole that has kept slavery alive for centuries. At the 2016 New York Film Festival, DuVernay
released the documentary that has formed American society to open its eyes to the reality of the
unjust criminal justice system titled 13TH. The film takes the audience on a journey from when the
Thirteenth Amendment was passed in 1865 to modern day with mass incarceration as the focus.
Ava DuVernay s documentary, 13TH, uses rhetorical devices, such as pathos, logos, and ethos, to

Analysis Of Pearl s Universe
Duha Salamah Professor Kolkachian 20 October 2015 PSYC1A Pearl s Universe Cartoon
Network s Steven Universe is a lovable children s show that is quickly gaining immense
popularity as well as ell deserved praise due to the show s avid representation of women, queer
individuals, and people of color. Pearl, a protagonist on the show, is one of the powerful Rose
Quartz closest followers as well as one of the last Gems on Earth to survive the war between the
Crystal Gems (Rose s army) and the Homeworld Gems. Gems are a species that are characterized
by their corresponding gemstone (Pearl s gemstone is a pearl, while Rose s is a quartz). All
Gems are sexless and there seems to be an absence of sexual dimorphism in the species, however
all Gems seem to have traits that are commonly associated with human femininity and actively
respond to the pronouns she and her aside from Steven, who is Rose s half human half Gem son.
Pearl lives with and fights along Garnet and Amethyst, the only other two Crystal Gems that
survived the war, and Steven, Rose s son. It is abundantly clear that Pearl was/is still in love
with Rose, proudly crediting herself as Rose s sole confidant and making sure her every act is
for Rose and her legacy. Pearl s love for Rose eventually grows to the point of obsessive
recklessness, continuously sacrificing herself and convincing herself that she does not matter all
for Rose s sake. The slight mention of her can send Pearl into a flurry of emotions, from

Why Are You Interested On The Entertainment Industry
1. How did you hear about BCEC? Please describe any past involvement with BCEC.
I heard about BCEC through Facebook! I saw it on my invites page, and the club looked well
suited to my interests, as I have spent the last year and a half starting to work in the industry, and
most likely want to end up working in entertainment back in my hometown of LA.
I haven t had any past involvement, and all I can say is I regret not knowing about this club sooner!
2. Why are you interested in the entertainment industry, specifically film?
My initial interest in entertainment stemmed from the world I grew up in Los Angeles where so
many of my neighbors, friend s parents, and just general social community were involved in all the
facets of the industry. As I have gotten older, I have really found an interest in the business behind
film. From film marketing, financing, distribution to studio operations its all so fascinating. This
past summer I took a course at UCLA on the Business of Blockbusters, and I got to see all the
business related sides to entrainment, learn about everything from marketing to box office analysis,
and hear from well qualified and respected professionals from different areas of the entertainment
industry.
People gather around entertainment, and everyday people can be overheard talking about their
favorites movies of all time, movies they just saw, and films they are anticipating. I want to a part
of creating those films that people love. People will always

Ethical Implications Of Moral Dilemmas
Moral dilemmas are terrifying when deciding whether people should live or die based on their
relationship and beliefs. What would be more ethical? Killing one person in front of five people
before they die or killing five people in front of one (Feldman). Many ethical implications can
affect the decision one may decide when determining who lives and who dies based on how
people are on the trolley. In this scenario, I m in charge of the trolley and these are the facts.
Scenario one, There are five people on the track the direction the trolley is traveling, the options
are to switch the track that will allow the trolley to travel on a different track or let the trolley
stay on the same track and kill all five of the individuals. In this situation, I m going to switch the
track, of course to save those five individuals. Scenario two, similar to scenario one, but one
unaware person is on the opposite side of the train track and based on the information I can
either save one life and kill five or save one and kill five. According to society, killing one person to
save five is for the greater good. But, life just doesn t work that one which leads me to Scenario
three, also similar to two, but on the opposite side of the trolley the individual who is unaware of
the trolley is my sibling.
As children, we are taught to protect our family and siblings who can t defend themselves. My
relevant Values and Concepts are my loyalty to my family and my duty to protect my younger
siblings. Although I m sacrificing those five other individual lives I don t have the courage and
it s not in my norm to decide to kill five people over my family. I don t want to kill innocent
people, but my heart is with my family and the ethical decision making in this situation is
deciding based on my belief and sometimes in life you have to sacrifice one thing for the other.
For example, the Eye for an eye theory. There are a few possible moral dilemmas for each
scenario. Scenario one, the ethics of care. The ethical system that defines good as meeting the needs
of others (Cengage Learning). Scenario two, Utilitarianism principle claims that the greatest good is
which it result in the greatest happiness for the greatest number

The Election In The Election Of Liberia s Election
Liberia s 2017 election is set to be the first democratic transfer of power in decades (Pailey 2017).
The election came after Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, former president, was unable to run because of
constitutionally mandated term limits. The pool of candidates shrunk from over one thousand to
three top candidates recently, with the runoff election being postponed for the time being. The
three candidates to remain are George Weah, of Weah s Coalition for Democratic Change, Joseph
Boakai, Vice President, and Charles Brumskine of the Liberty Party. In the first vote, Weah
received 39 percent of the vote, Boakai 29 percent, and Brumskine 10 percent. Candidates need

Brumskine s party goals include creating jobs, investing in infrastructure, reconciling the
people, ensuring the rule of law, and fighting corruption (Liberty Party Liberia 2017). The issues
the people of Liberia are voting on are highly connected to the study of contemporary African
politics. A cornerstone of African politics is the history it is built on. The country of Liberia is
still impacted by past colonial rule, civil war, and poor governance. All of these are common for
countries in Africa. A second important African election comes in the country of Rwanda.
President Paul Kagame recently won a third, seven year term. He won with a 99 percent margin
of victory (Baddorf 2017). His opponent was Frank Habineza, of the Democratic Green Party.
Habineza placed importance in environmental protections and allowing freedom of expression (afp
2017). Kagame s platform, though sparse, vowed to strengthen the economy. Kagame s victory is
tied to contemporary study of African politics in many ways. Kagame is an excellent example of a
leader whose personality has won him elections, resulting in elections for cult of personality rather
than policy. Kagame is credited with assisting in ending the Rwandan genocide by leading rebel
forces (Baddorf 2017). Further, the international community supports Kagame as he brought the
country to stability after the

Jomo Kenyatta Research Paper
In a time of ruthless dictators, Jomo Kenyatta was one of the most influential and controversial
leaders of his time. In 1947, Jomo Kenyatta was elected the leader of the Kenya African Union or
KAU, a pro independence rebel group. For the next three years, Jomo Kenyatta toured Kenya,
campaigning for independence. In 1951, The Mau Mau Rebellion, a conflict between the Mau Mau
protesters and the British Military began. In response, the British declared a state of emergency and

released from prison in 1959 and immediately began protesting and educating the people again.
Kenyatta soon became a part of the Kenyan Legislative Council where he was elected to be the
leader of the pro independence KAU. On the Twelfth of December 1963, Kenyan independence was

Why Voting Is Important For Public Policy
Voting is very essential and one of the easiest methods to influence public policy. You just need
to be registered, and go to a polling station. It is simple because the government encourages
people to vote, to hear a broad range of opinions. It is a form of direct democracy because when
you vote, it directly affects the side or issue you support. Your vote is one more supporting
opinion for a candidate or issue that is counted. Some people may think that their vote won t
make a big difference, but if you look at it from another perspective it can impact smaller and
local issues. Although voting is imperative because you are given this privilege at the age of 18, it
is not the end of one s ability to influence government, but rather the beginning. Public policyis a
system of laws that the government created for the citizens in order to maintain order. Public
policy should be fair for all the citizens, however, on many occasions it is hard to accommodate
for all races and social classes such as lower, middle, and upper class. An example of an effective
method to utilize that influences public policy is civil disobedience. Let s use the policy that
imposed high taxation on tobaccoand alcohol to demonstrate one s ability to impact the
government. First and foremost the policy is beneficial for the government because it generates
revenue that is earned from the products, however the consequence is that it encourages illegal
activity. There

The Theory of Evolusion Revised Essay
There is a monkey in your family tree. Whether that is fact or theory, and the difference, Stephen
Jay Gould explains in, Evolution as Fact and Theory , which appeared in the May 1981 issue of
Discover Magazine. Mr. Gould was described by the New York Times as, one of the most
influential evolutionary biologists of the 20th century (Yoon). He wants to show how the
creationist s have built their argument against evolutionon sand, and the evolutionist s argument
built on solid rock, as any paleontologist would prefer. It is a war of words, where their meaning,
use and misuse, determine on which side you stand. His argument is not perfect, but using lack of
perfection as evidence of evolution, he makes the case quite convincingly. It is... Show more content

In contrast, Gould logically lays out three facts to buttress his evolution stance. He states, ... we
have abundant, direct, observational evidence of evolution in action, from both the field and the
laboratory (440). The other two: the imperfection of nature, and transitions in the fossil record,
...rest upon inference , which is then explained to the reader (441). Up to this point, Gould s
argument follows the path of logic, reason, and objectivity. However, as he picks apart the
creationists argument, he ratchets up his emotions a notch or two. He readily confesses, If I should
sound sharp or bitter, indeed I am for I have become a major target of these practices (442).
Justified or not, he seems to take personally, criticism of the theory, punctuated equilibrium, which
he and colleague Niles Eldredge developed. The tone is angry, but he uses direct quotes from his
opponents to show how he has been misquoted and his message twisted, which infuriates him.
Duane Gish wrote, ...according to Gould, a reptile laid an egg from which the first bird, feathers
and all, was produced , which is just one example (443). The author manages largely, to reign in his
anger, and he sounds almost conciliatory when admitting to the arrogance of the scientific
community. Claiming to be mainly saddened by the sometimes bitter feud with creationists, the
impression is of someone who is tired. Tired of fighting a

Naomi Wolf The Beauty Myth
The author, Naomi Wolf, in the article The Beauty Myth addresses the issue of female beauty and
its impact on female liberation. Wolf states that the modern idea of female beauty is a form of
oppression that might have negated all the female liberation achieved by the Western women, since
the rebirth of feminism in the1970s. Wolf argues that highly educated and liberated women of the
First Word are not truly free as the contemporary ravages of beauty backlash are destroying women
psychologically and physically. I agree with the author that the modern idea of female beauty is
indeed a dead weight that hinders women from achieving total liberation, and is being used as a
political weapon against female advancement. Wolf provides a strong argument

The Pros And Cons Of The USA Patriot Act
Despite being the superpower of the world, the United States of America does not enjoy any
exception from the global threats and challenges. The people in denial of such global threats
finally woke up to the reality on the dawn of September 11th, 2001, when terrorists struck
American financial hub in the city of New York. A badly shaken nation shocked by the magnitude
of brutality quickly assembled behind its president to pass a legislation, known as the USA Patriot
Act, to tackle internal and external threats to this nation on a war footing basis. The haste with
which this legislation was passed made it controversial almost immediately. No doubt, the intent
was valid and there was an absolute need to tackle threats to the homeland, however,... Show more

Many times in the past decade and a half since the Act was passed, there have been numerous
reports of suppression of the rights protected by the First, Fourth, Fifth and Sixth amendments of
the Bill of Rights, directly threatening the freedom of association, information, speech, and the
right to legal representation as well as the right to liberty. This is simply unacceptable what is the
point of having a law of the land if we create and ratify legislation that destroys that supreme law?
For instance, in clear violation of the Fourth amendment, the library surveillance introduced by the
Patriot Act allowed monitoring of library s public computer terminals and use of secret search
warrants to seize any tangible thing in a library without probable cause and court procedure. It also
imposed a gag order on booksellers and librarians to prevent them from disclosing details of
surveillance.()CITE The extent of surveillance in libraries is just another reason Americans need to
realize that their privacy rights have been snatched from them under the disguise of the Patriot Act.
It is important to realize that the surveillance does not stop at the district or township libraries. It
has reached our residential doorsteps without us realizing it. In this era of digital communication,
most people rely on technology to stay connected with the rest of the world. The Patriot Act allows
federal agents to monitor electronic communications, which includes wireless phones, email, and
internet, without much oversight. It also allowed the government to seize business records of
telecom companies as well as customer records from the Internet Service Providers.

As an autocrat, Peter the Great harshly put down rebellions and also created a secret police to help

waged wars against the Ottoman Empire, turning out to be mainly unsuccessful. There was also a
Great War with Sweden. With these wars came Peter s prospect of expanding his empire through
the acquisition of new territory and access to the Baltic Sea.

Another Western idea that didn t make its way to Russia was paid labor Russia was still
implementing the system of serfdom, so extreme that it could barely be distinguished with
slavery... serfs could be bought and sold, and there were often horrible working conditions due to
the landowners increasing powers over serfs. It was impossible to escape serfdom as it was a
hereditary status. Peter didn t implement any changes in labor, despite Western change of serfdom
to paid labor.

An Adaptation on Sea Horses Over the years sea horses have adapted to their environments very
well so far. They re good at catching their food and keeping quiet while doing it. Especially with
their camouflage skills. All they have to do is stay still, stay in camouflage, wait for the bait,
and then jump out and take it. So, sea horses have adapted quite well. One way that sea horses
have been able to adapt is their hard scales. Their scales keep them protected from hard hits and of
course almost getting a big bite taken out of them. If something does try to take a bite it won t do
anything because of how non tender they are. It states in paragraph 4, sentence 3, that, This makes

Executive Branch Essay
The comparison of a state with great plains and a state with mighty mountains seems unimaginable
but very possible, at least on governmental standpoint. The great state of Illinois and one of the
original state, North Carolina, have set up a state government very similar to the federal
government and similar to each other. Their comparisons and contrasts are most noticeable in the
legislative and executive branches.
There are three main parts of an executive branch; The president, the vice president, and the cabinet.
The president is the head of the U.S. executive branch, but in state executive branches the governor
is the head honcho. Every State in America has a governor that is the chief executive of the state,

legislative branch typically is a bicameral system. The only exception to this is the state of
Nebraska which only has a senate and not a house of representatives. The legislative power of the
state of Illinois is vested in the General Assembly, which is composed of a 59 member Senate and a
118 member House of Representatives. North Carolina s Senate has 50 members and their House of
Representatives has 120 members. After those blaring differences Illinois and North Carolina s
Legislature branches are quite similar. Their regular activities are enacting, amending or repealing
laws, passing resolutions, adopting appropriation bills and conducting inquiries on proposed
legislation. Both states legislation acts on amendments to the U.S. Constitution when they are
submitted by Congress, and proposes and submits amendments to the Illinois Constitution for
consideration by voter. During the scenario of an impeachment, both states House of
Representatives has the sole power of impeachment, while the Senate serves as adjudicator. If a
majority of the members of the House vote to impeach, the case proceeds to the Senate for trial. The
Senate cannot impose any punishment on an impeached and convicted office holder other than
removal from office. These two states show multiple similarities in the legislative branch and very
few differences.
As anyone can tell the two great states of Illinois and North Carolina have many similarities and
differences in their legislative and executive branches of state government. Overall, one thing is

  • 2. Essay on Modern and Post-Modernism Architecture There is often some confusion when people start talking about the post modernism and modernism in architecture in terms of their philosophical terminology differences. Modern architecture is known for its minimalism (Linder, 2004); buildings were functional and economical rather than comfortable and beautifully decorated. The post modernismarchitecture, however, is called a neo eclectic, significantly assuming the role of a regeneration of period styles for designing houses, and a never ending variety of forms and characteristics, asymmetrical designs for commercial buildings (Fullerton Heritage, 2008). The main difference between these two schools is that the architects point of view to any design as a means of communication (Chan, 1997). Modern architecture, for example, focus on the aesthetics of architectural language, while post modernity adjust in constant effort to achieve what is more than unity and focus on the traditional concepts, therefore both schools are in competition with each other. Second basic principle of modern school is the production beauty by basic technology (Chan, 1997), and this led to a contradiction on the post modernism architects being attempted to use primitive technology. Their particular case is to access and change the impact of the traditional architecture through all people. Therefore, to achieve this goal they have addressed the issues of beauty and technology within the general concept of the design. Despite different thoughts on the features of post modernism definition, it is clearly seen that people ,who are interested in beauties, are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 8. The Old Testament And The New Covenant Introduction With the writing of the New Testament and the New Covenant, many Christians wonder if they are still obligated to follow the writings of the Old Testament, specifically the Mosaic Law. Romans helps to answer this question. Paul writes in Romans that the Christian is no longer under Old Testament or Mosaic Law, but is now under Christ s Law (Rom 7:6 ) and that justification by faith, not works under the law is what will make a man righteous (Rom 3:28). This does not mean that the Christian should completely disregard the Scripture, for as it is written in 2 Timothy, all Scripture is from God and is good for teaching, however, Christians need to have a better understanding of the law they are now to live by. The Mosaic Law still has a useful purpose, and is still good to know, it is just no longer the rule of Christian life. Is The Old Testament Important? Since Christian s have the New Testament, is the Old Testament and its teachings even still important? Is there anything of value to be gained from reading it? Absolutely. Again, as stated in 2 Timothy, all Scripture is from God and is important for teaching. There is much to be learned from the Old Testament. Paul cited the Old Testament extensively in his writings in Romans. Paul s thesis for the entire book of Romans, Chapter 1:16 17 refers to Habakkuk 2:4 with a literal translation of his writing being the righteous (or, just) person from faith will live. The Horror of Camaraderie In the book All Quiet on the Western Front by Erich Remarque and the essay In the Field by Tim O Brien there is a common theme, camaraderie and the horrors of war. Camaraderie is when soldiers in the war are helpful towards each other when it comes to things such as survival during the war. Horrors of war can be shown by seeing the death of a camarade. Not too long ago three members of Congress who are Republican were indicted due to political and financial scandals (Wallis, 2012). Part of the problem in these corruption scandals involves the ability of interest groups to determine policy as well as pork barrel spending (Wallis, 2012). Bourdieu perceives power to be shaped by social, cultural and symbolic forms which are constantly changing through the relationships of agency and structure. The primary way this happens is what Bourdieu termed habitus or socialized norms which guide behavior and thinking. Habitus happens without consciousness and is often recreated as social norms change. The setting of these agents and social positions are located in a field . James II was a Catholic king who gained power in England after King Charles II died in 1685. Many of James opponents were Protestant, and they were strongly against the Catholic monarch. James daughter, Mary, was married to William of Orange, and she was Protestant. For many years, Mary was James only child. This meant that if James II died, she would take the throne. This brought great comfort to the Protestant groups in Ireland, as their ruler would no longer be Catholic. However, when James wife had a son, the crown would be passed to him, and England would have another Catholic monarch. This caused panic and outrage from James Protestant opponents, which led them to invite William of Orange to invade England and overthrow James II (BBC: Battle of the Boyne). William accepted, and he and his army invaded England in November of 1688. The invasion was successful, and William and Mary were awarded the throne as joint monarchs. There is no reason why the Athletic Department can t let us use those buses to drive ourselves to games. They don t need to pay a driver, we can drive ourselves to save money. This is an easy fix and would make traveling for club teams much easier. It would also eliminate the chances of getting separated and lost. The Athletic Department may object to this solution because, it is a liability to the school and will cost the school gas money. However, club soccer fundraises for uniforms, therefore we could also fundraise a little extra money to fill up the gas tanks for the buses. They could also make club athletes fill out liability forms, like going on a field trip in high school, that says the school is not liable for anything that happens. Field space is limited and this makes it difficult for both varsity and club to find space and time to practice. Take soccer for example. There are three grass soccer fields available to play on. However, one is called Melucci Stadium and is used strictly for games and is off limits for practices. Now we are down to two fields, neither of which have lights. The differences between Great Expectationsand the Parable of the Prodigal Son can be traced back to the purpose of the authors. The differences are evident though the authors purpose, the plot, and the main characters in both works. The main reason that Great Expectations and the Parable of the Prodigal Son are so different, is the intent of the original authors. Dickens wrote Great Expectations as a social commentary.... Following this encounter, Pip is unhappy with his life until he is told some unnamed benefactor has given Pip a fortune. Pip is whisked away to London where he wastes his money and finds himself in debt. In the parable, the story begins with the son receiving his inheritance from his father. Pip lives in London for several years until he discovers his benefactor is the convict he met in the graveyard. The son in the parable decides to return home in hopes that his father will hire him as a worker. His father instead greets him with open arms and declares this son of mine was dead, and has come to life again; he was lost, and has been found (Luke 15:24). The 2016 Presidential Elections and the Political Integration of Data Analytics The 2016 election cycle pits Democrat Hillary Clinton against Republican nominee Donald J. Trump. After the success of Barrack Obama s data analytics, Clinton continued their adoption of data analytics, this time developing a new algorithm called Ada after the female, 19th century mathematician, Ada, Countess of Lovelace (Wagner, 2016) and having Obama s former data analytics director, Elan Kriegel, as one of the highest paid staff of her campaign (Goldmacher, Hillary Clinton s Invisible Guiding Hand , 2016). Clinton s dependence with analytics is so entrenched that a lot of their campaign decisions are based upon the results of Ada s 400,000 simulations per day on what a head to head with Trump would look like. Moreover, Ada, played a vital role in determining the television ad buys, the deployment of the candidate and her surrogates up to when to be scarce and be silent on the issues. Even the staging of concerts with artists like Jay Z and BeyoncГ© was chiefly based upon Ada s data driven analysis (Wagner, 2016) (Goldmacher, Hillary Clinton s Invisible Guiding Hand , 2016). Contrary to the Clinton campaign, Trump is not quick to adopt big data in his presidential bid. Racial Discrimination And Diversity In Division I Football Over the years, the United States has been considered a melting pot of nationalities and ethnicities, but from the beginning, the white race has perceived themselves as a superior race, enforcing their power over other races through slavery and racial segregation. Today, we believe that the United States has made leaps and bounds toward total racial equality. We see evidence of this in the workplace, schools, and athletics, but there are still some problems that need to be addressed. Therefore, I am writing to you to inform you as NCAA president of the standing of the NCAA and its diversity of head coaches in Division Ifootball. This memo seeks to explore the idea that minorities are not fairly represented or retained in Collegiate level head coaching positions. I will demonstrate this by showing racial demographics, head coach position retention, assistant coach to head coach retention studies, football position correlation to coaching positions, and social aspects. Racial Demographics The NCAA has made noticeable progress toward racial equality in the ratio of black to white players in Division I football. In 2008, black athletes only made up about 36 percent of the student athlete population in Division I football, while in the 2017 season, 39 percent of football players are black (NCAA). If you do not include historically black colleges and universities, you see that blacks take over whites from 46 percent on 2008 to 52 percent in 2017. All demographic data is from ... Trait theoryis perhaps the most widely used perspective when it comes to analysing personality and it vastly differs in comparison to other theoretical perspectives. The main reason is because it is very inefficient in terms of gasoline, distance and passengers, and the profit was little. The second era, which involves Boeing 777 300ER, was very different compared to Concorde s era. The main focuses of airplane performance are great range, higher number of passengers, passenger comfort and higher fuel efficiency. Boeing tried to make the airplane more efficient because gasoline nowadays are more expensive per gallons, which is $3.48 per gallon, while usage of cars, boats or airplanes are higher than the past. Therefore, it created an airplane that is not only fuel efficient, but can travel a great distance. At the period when the Concorde was made, traveling by plane was not something that was considered affordable. Consequently the number of passengers was limited, thus making airplane manufactures unpressured to make bigger planes. However, progressing into the 1990s, air travel became cheaper and accessible for more people, requiring airline companies to carry more people on existing routes. Consequently aircraft manufacturers are forced to create larger capacity airplanes. Based on this new paradigm and demands from airline companies, the Boeing 777 was conceived. Pearl, a protagonist on the show, is one of the powerful Rose Quartz closest followers as well as one of the last Gems on Earth to survive the war between the Crystal Gems (Rose s army) and the Homeworld Gems. Killing one person in front of five people before they die or killing five people in front of one (Feldman). Many ethical implications can affect the decision one may decide when determining who lives and who dies based on how people are on the trolley. In this scenario, I m in charge of the trolley and these are the facts. Scenario one, There are five people on the track the direction the trolley is traveling, the options are to switch the track that will allow the trolley to travel on a different track or let the trolley stay on the same track and kill all five of the individuals. In this situation, I m going to switch the track, of course to save those five individuals. Scenario two, similar to scenario one, but one unaware person is on the opposite side of the train track and based on the information I can either save one life and kill five or save one and kill five. According to society, killing one person to save five is for the greater good. But, life just doesn t work that one which leads me to Scenario three, also similar to two, but on the opposite side of the trolley the individual who is unaware of the trolley is my sibling. As children, we are taught to protect our family and siblings who can t defend themselves. My relevant Values and Concepts are my loyalty to my family and my duty to protect my younger siblings. Although I m sacrificing those five other individual lives I don t have the courage and it s not in my norm to decide to kill five people over my family. I don t want to kill innocent people, but my heart is with my family and the ethical decision making in this situation is deciding based on my belief and sometimes in life you have to sacrifice one thing for the other. • 47. Why Voting Is Important For Public Policy Voting is very essential and one of the easiest methods to influence public policy. You just need to be registered, and go to a polling station. It is simple because the government encourages people to vote, to hear a broad range of opinions. It is a form of direct democracy because when you vote, it directly affects the side or issue you support. Your vote is one more supporting opinion for a candidate or issue that is counted. Some people may think that their vote won t make a big difference, but if you look at it from another perspective it can impact smaller and local issues. Although voting is imperative because you are given this privilege at the age of 18, it is not the end of one s ability to influence government, but rather the beginning. Public policyis a system of laws that the government created for the citizens in order to maintain order. Public policy should be fair for all the citizens, however, on many occasions it is hard to accommodate for all races and social classes such as lower, middle, and upper class. Up to this point, Gould s argument follows the path of logic, reason, and objectivity. However, as he picks apart the creationists argument, he ratchets up his emotions a notch or two.
