Asch Conformity Study
1.Identify the study (video) you selected.
The study and video I selected was the ASCH Conformity Experiments video. I was drawn to the
ASCH experiment because I am interested in social behavior. The ASCH conformity experiments
was simple, but there is nothing wrong with a minimalistic approach. I think it s interesting to know
that a simplistic approach to an experiment may yield astounding data.
2.Describe what this study demonstrated about human behavior and mental processes using the
results of the study along with information you have learned in Units 1 3.
The ASCH experiment demonstrated that humans conform easily, and it is scary to know that.

Genes and DNA are part of the nature concept. Nurture shapes us differently than Nature because
nurture deals with our environments. I believe the things we experience outside the home molds us
heavily during the teen periods of devolvement. The ASCH experiment zeros in on nurture
influence. The ASCH experiment subjects were all placed in a room without knowing each other.
The ASCH experiment took place in the physical realm. Influence and conformity may both come
from nature and nurture, but in ASCH experiment video nurture stood out to me.
4.In your own words, describe social observational learning. Is it demonstrated in the study you
selected? Why or why not? Explain your reasoning using reference to the study.
Social observation learning is when a person learns by observing others. Social observation learning
was demonstrated in the ASCH experiment video. Social observation plays a role in the ASCH
experiment in the sense that the subjects neglected their own thought process to avoid judgment.
The subjects sat next to each other, moreover, each male subject observed each other s reactions
and tension due to their togetherness.

Maze Runner Motivation
How would you react if you woke up in a dark box, surrounded by strangers, and you couldn t
remember anything about your life before that moment? James Dashner writes his book, The
Maze Runner, about a boy who finds himself in that position and how he reacts and get along with
others. James got a lot of his inspiration from other stories and movies he read or saw growing up
(Veronica). He took all the inspiration he had and he turned it into a thriller story that keeps the
reader engaged throughout the whole story. Whether he meant to or not, his story has an
underlying theme to not give up, to keep trying until you succeed. The story starts off with the main
character, Thomas, waking up in a mysterious box surrounded by a bunch of dingy looking

Cleopatra s Reign As The Last Queen Of Egypt
Cleopatra VII was one of, if not the most powerful and famous women in ancient history. She
was a queen, a goddess, a skilled diplomat and a negotiator, who played a serious role in
reforming Egypt and how women were viewed in the ancient world. She was an incredibly clever
woman from a young age, becoming queen at the youthful age at eighteen. Cleopatra also made
huge contributions to politics in Egypt, through her skills in language and consequently of her
hundreds of followers and supporters. She was able to even entice some of the most important
people in history, such as Mark Antonyand Julius Caesar, and had relationships with other Roman
rulers such as Emperor Augustus. Her name was very well known in the ancient world as a
beautiful and skilled lady, and still is to this day. For these reasons, Cleopatra s reign as the last
queen of Egypt was unlike any other ruler of the ancient world, and her contributions and legacy
have left a lasting effect on the world, as we know it.
Cleopatra VII was the last ruler of the Ptolemaic dynasty, ruling Egypt from 51 BC 30 BC. She
was born in the Egyptian capital city of Alexandria in about 70 BCE, into the royal family that
had ruled Egypt for nearly 300 years. She was the daughter of King Ptolemy XII of Egypt.
Cleopatra was a woman remembered for her beauty and her relationships and love affairs with two
very important warlords, Julius Caesar and Mark Antony. When her father Ptolemy XII died in 51

Edgar Allen Poe s The Tell-Tale Heart
Published in 1805, Edgar Allen Poe s gothic tale The Tell Tale Heart is narrated by a murder who
has killed an old man and finally admits his criminal. The murder happens in the bedroom where
people get rest. The time, night, makes it more terrifying for us to imagine more than the murder
itself. The narrator mentions watch four times. Normally, watch represents time. In the story, it
represents the time approaching death which makes us nervous, A watch s minute hand moves
more quickly than did mine (Poe 2). The story is written in the first person point of view. When
we are reading the story, it seems we are doing the same thing as the narrator which builds horrible,
nervous and sad tone. When the narrator goes to the old man s bedroom,

Sydney Water Eastern Sewerage Treatment Plant Site Report
Melbourne Water Eastern Sewerage Treatment plant Site Report There are several different
technologies used at the Eastern Treatment Plant for treating sewerage until it becomes Class A

The remnant sludge is dried leaving a biosolid high in metals and contaminants which is considered
unsafe for human contact and is currently stored onsite (Melbourne Water 2014). As with most
technology the definition of state of the art is incredibly subjective and is rooted in social and
economic issues (Diaper Sharma 2007). For the treatment of sewerage this is particularly true and it
is hard to separate technology from social and economic issues, as such both will be addressed
together. Currently most of the technology used is state of the art based on the on recent
implementation of the new upgrade to the treatment process by the addition of tertiary processing
(Melbourne Water 2014). There are always improvements in technology that could be implemented
but when taking in to consideration the low economic viability of many new technologies for a
commercial scale at the present time, the current technology is cutting edge for its purpose and cost
(Melbourne Water 2014). As new technology becomes more economical than this question will
have to be readdressed. For example a state of the art water treatment technology that could be
employed would be any pressure driven membrane filtration such as reverse osmosis, nanofiltration,
ultrafiltration, and microfiltration make the Category A treated effluent in to

Students focus is set in the wrong direction; in taking notes rather than understanding and absorbing
new concepts. This could result in the student inability to grasp key ideas and concepts.
A teacher s lecture is generally one size fit all. Not every student has the same pace of learning.
While some students can follow the teacher s lecture with convenience, most of the others require
time to chow on the information that they are getting.
Students need to pay thousands of dollars per term to attend a prestigious school. With all those

It s no wonder why millions of students from all around the world opt for online degree programs

Non Exchange Exchanges And Non Market Exchanges
In our modern civilization, two types of exchange characterize the relation among human: market
exchanges and non market exchanges (Adjamagbo 1997; Mauss 1950). The first form is
characterized by the actions of buying and selling goods or services at a given price and under the
rules of the market. The second concerns exchanges not governed by rules of the market but instead
by social and cultural norms. This latter form of exchange includes private transfers among
households, intergenerational transfers within a family, transfers from households to nonprofit
organizations or the other way around, and public transfers from government or public agencies to
households. Inter households and intergenerational transfers are the most common form of non
market exchanges. They include donations, gifts, remittances and bequests and can involve
different, related or unrelated, individuals within a community. Private transfers are common in
most countries, both developing and developed nations. In developed countries, intergenerational
transfers or bequests tend to be the largest form of private transfers. However, in developing
countries transfers within the same generations and between related or unrelated households are the
most frequent forms (Kazianga 2006). Inter household transfers can also flow from a person in a
foreign country to her relative in the home country or from urban households to rural households.
International remittances are particularly larger and much more

and Muslims said it was a blessing. Let s move on to the first point of this paper, Christianity. In
England, it is said that the death rate of the citizens is thirty three percent. At the end of the plague,
the population was 2.8 million, but at the start of the plague it was around 4.2 million. In 1348,

different reasons why it was a miasma. The background essay was part of both religion responses
of the Black Death. As a result of the Black Death, Christians and Muslims were the major religions

To repeat, Christians were the ones to take this event to the next level, when they started burning
the Jews. Muslims just thought of it has a blessing. Muslims was the ones to bring all ethnic

It really comes down to whether or not you think a true burger is one that is served on a bun, or

Charlie Nagreen: In 1885, Charlie sold hamburgers from an ox drawn food stand at the Outagamie
County Fair in Seymour, Wisconsin. He initially sold meatballs, but wasn t very successful. He
quickly realizes that meatballs were too inconvenient, so he decided to flatten them and place
them in between two pieces of bread, so that they would be easier for the fair patrons to eat. Many
came to know him as Hamburger Charlie. He would return to sell them at the fair every year, until
his death in 1950.
Oscar Weber Bilby Family: To date, this is the first known hamburger that was served on a bun.
While the family admits that hamburgers were already served on bread, prior to grandpa Oscar

Drug Conhibition And Drug Prohibition In The United States
Alcohol didn t cause the high crime rate of the 20s and 30s, prohibition did. And drugs do not
cause today s alarming crime rates, but drug prohibition does ( Badnarik). Although Congress had
great intentions by banning alcohol and drugs, it made living in America that much more difficult.
The passage of the 18th amendment contributed to the rise of illegal activities carried out by

The 18th amendment states After one year from the ratification of this article the manufacture,

date of the submission hereof to the States by the Congress (Grossman 469 ). After this was

Kazuo Ishiguro Genre Analysis
The first question asked in the readings and discussions that we went through in class is what
exactly is the meaning of genre. To me personally, the word genre is it describes either a novel,
film, video game or music by certain generic ideas or rules of what defines that specific genre.
Stories can be described through narrative forms, such as if the writing piece is either a short
story, a novel or even a poem or narration. Also, stories can even be characterized by either
similar themes or settings and/or if they follow a certain structure such as if a book is either
defined as comedy or drama.
Daniel Chandler explains perfectly in An Introduction to Genre Theory how genre is not always
straightforward in defining things such as stories ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They also discuss certain books that they have written and how some people have complained
that it shouldn t be classified as a fantasy novel. Both explain how genres are now being mixed
and that sometimes, a book cannot be labeled by just one specific type of genre. I agree with
some of Neil Gaiman s statements, such as how he states that the subject of the book doesn t
determine genre and that genres only exist when there s an abundance of novels that fit that
specific genre. I both partly agree and disagree with Kazuo Ishiguro. I agree with how he believes
that there are certain patterns that are associated with the genre, however, many readers and
writers take these specifications too seriously, and believe that if you don t follow the certain
standards of what makes a specific genre, they believe that it is strange. However, I don t agree
with Ishiguro when he states Books are serving the same function as certain brands of cars or
jewelry, in just denoting social position. That kind of motivation attaches itself to reading in a way
that probably doesn t attach itself to film (Ishiguro 7). I believe that film can also motivate people
the same way that books can motivate

Benjamin Button Comparison
Movies have always found their influences from different sources, but in the case of The Curious

differences. In addition to the many differences between the two, they also share some similarities.
Both fictional stories revolve around the unique condition and extraordinary life of a man who ages

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, the short story and movie are similar and different in many

Benjamin as dependent on his mother as a normal infant. The father within the short story upset
with the appearance of his son entertained the idea of abandoning him, but ultimately was unable
to do so. As for the film, the father let his emotions get the better of him and in the end he abandon

Suppose A Player Averages A 23 Points Per Game
Sports is world of measurement. Let s think of a sport like basketball, to where players attempt to
make baskets. Suppose a player averages a 23 points per game. Is that a good player, a bad player,
or s great player? A good coach will know that base of this limited information it will be impossible
to answer that question. Basketballis more than scoring. Players can block shots, rebound missed
shots, steal the ball, and assist others on scoring. They can also make a number of mistakes that
benefit their opponents. So now if a playeraverages 23 points, 9 rebounds, 12 assists, and 4 steals

system of metrics needs to provide information on effectiveness, efficiency, and adaptability. This is
just not true in a sport like basketball. Businesses constantly seek to collect and study data in an

that of Kant comes from those who argue from the existence of some absolute moral values.
Rashdall put forward this argument but it was developed by Sorley. Sorley claims: 1. There is

conscious of an absolute moral law 3. People acknowledge the demands that this law makes on

unwanted and repeated thoughts, feelings, images, and sensations (obsessions) and engage in
behaviors or mental acts in response to these thoughts or obsessions. This topic is one that I find
very fascinating, because half of the population may not realize they are suffering from this

Environmental Factors And Causes Of Climate Change In Kenya
Climate change in today s world has become of great concern due to its effects on the environment.
Globally, climate change has significantly influenced ecosystems and the existence of organisms.
This is further extending its effects to regional areas such as Kenya, whose ecosystem is not spared
by the changing climate. Despite having natural causes, Anthropogenic factors are widely
increasing and causing climate changeundisputed. Therefore, human activities are the primary
contributors to climate change leading to stress and ecosystemstrain, to continue providing for its
services. In this report, I discuss the summary of global climate change and regional focus on causes
of climate change in Kenya, its effects in ecosystem especially on the natural ecosystems, current
measures to curb the effects and the perception of the future ecosystem of the country.
Introduction
Climate change is defined as a change of climate that is attributed directly or indirectly to human
activity that alters the composition of the global atmosphere, and that is in addition to natural
climate variability observed over comparable time periods (UNFCC, 1992). (source(GoK, 2012).

both human activities and natural factors. These factors include deforestation from increasing

Why World War II Broke out in 1939 Essay
Hitler s Aims
Hitler was never secretive about his plans for Germany. His aims were explained in detail in his
book Mein Kampf, of what he would do to make Germany a great nation again. His main aims
were to:
Abolish the Treaty of Versailles
Like many Germans, Hitler believed that the Treaty of Versailles was unjust. He hated the Treaty
and the German politicians were in his view, November Criminals . The worst aspect of the
Treaty was that it was a reminder to the Germans of their defeat in the First World War and their
humiliation by the Allies. His promise to the German people was that if he was the leader of
Germany he would reverse this. By the time Hitler came to power, some of these terms had already
been changed. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By doing this, he solved one of Germany s biggest problems and also delivered his promise of
making Germany great again and breaking the terms of the Treaty of Versailles.
Hitler was aware that rearmament was popular with the German public, however he also knew
that it would cause alarm in other countries. Therefore, he started the process in secret. To
reinforce this, he made a great public display of his desire not to rearm Germany claiming that he
was only doing it because other countries refused to disarm. Hitler also left the League of Nations
after Japan.
In 1935 Hitler staged a massive rally in order to show the world the German armed forces. In 1936
he also introduced conscription to the army. Although this was a risky move, Hitler guessed right,
in thinking that he could get away with rearmament. Many other countries were also using
rearmament as a method of reducing the unemployment rate. The collapse of the League of Nations
Disarmament Conference in 1934 had shown that other countries were not prepared to disarm.
Rearmament was a popular move in Germany. It boosted Nazi support. Hitler also knew that
Britain had some sympathy for Germany on this issue, as Britain believed that the limits put on
Germany s armed forces by the Treaty of Versailles were too strict. It was clear that the permitted
forces were not enough to defend Germany from attack. Also, Britain thought that Germany would
be a good buffer against Communism.

Examples Of Masculinity In Margaret Hale
Throughout the North and South, Margaret Hale shows a tremendous ability to affirm and alter the
masculinity of the men around her. This power is both due to the nature of masculinity itself, as
well as Margaret s unwavering convictions about what she perceives to be masculine. For any man,
their masculinity will be influenced by the women around them. This is because masculinity exists
in a duality with femininity; they define themselves against one another, what is dominant is
masculine and what is submissive is feminine, stoicism and emotional, blue and pink. Without one
to cast its shadow on, the other loses its structure. Thus, masculinity measures itself against the
mensuration that femininity lays out for it. This reliance on one another... Show more content on

Thornton hears Margaret call him out on his cowardice and question his courage and noble
quality , Gaskell writes that a dark cloud came over his face while he listened. He set his teeth as
he heard her words (232). Rather than wither under Margaret s accusations on his manliness, Mr.
Thornton reacts accordingly and leaves to perform his duty as the man of the household so
quickly that he cuts Margaret off mid sentence. This is drastically different to Mr. Hale s
reactions, which would instead leave Margaret up to her own devices to fulfill his role, and shows
how Margaret s influence on the men around her does not just lead to emasculation, but a push
toward a fuller embodiment of their masculinity. Here especially, all it took were a few sharp
sentences and Mr. Thornton felt compelled from hiding inside his home to boldly addressing an
army of rioting, angry men. Thus, Margaret has a significant amount of control over the actions of

Essay about Marie Antoinette
Marie Antoinette
FMM 1200
Marie Antoinette
Maria Theresa of Austria thought she was sealing a favorable alliance between France and Austria
(New World Encyclopedia) by having her daughter, Maria Antonia Josepha Johanna, marry Louis
XVI, but she was actually unknowingly giving her a chance to make fashion history.
Life History
When Maria Antonia Josepha Johanna wed Louis XVI, she was told to leave everything behind;
her Austrian clothes, possessions, servants, her animal and even her name was changed to Marie
Antoinette. She was then dressed in French clothing and presented with jewels including an
elaborate diamond necklace which had belonged to Anne of Austria and pieces which had also
belonged to Mary Queen of Scots and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She wore the newest looks from Rose Bertin, among them the provocative robe a la polonaise,
with its bosom enhancing bodice and its billowy, ankle baring skirts, the whole crowned by a
pouf, a 3 foot mountain of powdered hair decked with plumes, veils, and other objects (Hollander,
2006).
Another dress of style she came to wear after becoming a mother is known as chemise a la reine.
She stopped wearing all the glitz and glam that she had been known for and opting for a simpler
look in her outfits. She began wearing a light, shapeless dress called a gaulle. It was made of
layers of simple muslin, loose fitting and shaped by a sash tied around the waist. It also didn t
have the usual panniers under the skirt, which were often so extreme that door frames had to be
widened to accommodate dresses. It meant the material could mold around the legs, also shocking
at the time (Winterman, 2012). Critics of this type of dress said she looked as though she were
wearing just undergarments.
In conclusion, Marie Antoinette was not only a prominent figure in history, but she could also be
noted as an important mention in fashion history as well. She paved the way for a new type of
look and style that others during the time would not have ever thought of doing.

The Influence Of Structure And Culture On The Irish Civil...
For the purpose of this essay the author shall discuss what considerations of structure and culture
shaped the Irish civil service. The Collins English Dictionary (2013, p) defines structure as the way
in which parts are put together to make a whole. Culture on the other hand is defined as the set of
predominating attitudes and behaviours that characterise a group or organisation (The Collins
English Dictionary, 2013 p). Bearing these definitions in mind the author will look at the Irish civil
servicewithin the wider public service and examine the Irish civil service is in relation to its
culture and structure. Firstly the Irish civil service will be defined and its role and key functions

for their work, building their way up throughout the years and not losing the concepts of their

garment that is one off meaning it s just been designed to fit the customers needs, therefore the
garments have to be all handmade but also something wearable for few decades. That s why

The French Military Leader Of The Revolutionary War
Marie Joseph Paul Yves Roch Guilbert du Motier, Maquis de Lafayette (1757 1834) was a
French military leader who played a large role in America s victory in the Revolutionary War. He
was a tall fiery man with high status and a large adoration for American liberty (Boy s Life). He
devoted everything in his life at the time to join the rebels as well as risked being imprisoned for
disobedience. His connections through his wealth and his own personal excitement for the rebel
leaders beliefs gave America a large boost that lead to their victory (UXL).
Lafayette was born on the 6th of September 1757 in Chavanic, France. He never got to see his
father who died at the Battle of Minden in the Seven Year s War when Lafayette was only a year
old. His mother was not usually around before her death when Lafayette was thirteen but he had
his grandmother and aunts. He had a Jesuit priest as a tutor and later attended College du
Plesssis for three years. With a family tradition of military service, he decided to go to a military
academy in Vesailles. Lafayette became one of the king s Musketeers in 1777. By the age of
sixteen he was married to Marie Adienne Francoise de Noailles (UXL).
In August of 1775, Lafayette attended a dinner party hosted by the Duke of Gloucester. The Duke
spoke very greatly of the rebel leaders in America. This made Lafayette very amazed at what was
going on in the thirteen colonies and decided to go to America to join the rebels. He was not

administration s effort to negatively signal firms to change their safety programs by
administering fines as a catalyst for that decline. While this study supports the notion that
OSHA has been effective in reducing injuries in the workplace, I will be building on the results
to determine if OSHA s efforts to reduce violations specific to Fall Protection (C, 1926.501), as
well as drawing attention to fall hazards, have been effective in reducing fall related fatalities in
totality, and those involving ladders, roofs, and scaffolds, in the construction industry over a span
of 23 years. Fall related accidents, unlike many others in the construction industry, are 100%
preventable if proper measures are in place. If the correlation between the year and the quantity of
fall related fatalities is statistically significant, it is confirmable that OSHA is moving closer to its
goal of alleviating injuries and deaths in one of the most dangerous industries in the United States.
Moreover, a statistically significant correlation, if present, will provide a regression line that will
allow researchers to predict the future quantities of fall related fatalities in the construction industry,

The Scarlet Letter By Nathanial Hawthorne
Acceptance
Introduction
In June 1642, in the Puritan town of Boston, a crowd gathers to witness the punishment of Hester
Prynne, a young woman found guilty of adultery. She is required to wear a scarlet A on her dress
to shame her. She must stand on the scaffold for three hours, to be exposed to public humiliation.
As Hester approaches the scaffold, many of the women in the crowd are angered by her beauty and
quiet dignity.
The Scarlet Letter written by Nathanial Hawthorne centers on sin, identity and society. The
meaning of the A in the Scarlet Letter is meant to mean Adulterer . The meaning is not definite,
the A meaning rather ambiguous is taken to mean what the person wants it to mean, equivocally
it can be said that the meaning(s) of the A mirrors the beliefs and thoughts of its onlookers. The
meaning of A as a motif is a recurring concept and idea centering on society and identity. She had
wandered, without rule or guidance, into a moral wilderness... Her intellect and heart had their
home, as it were, in desert places, where she roamed as freely as the wild Indian in his woods...
The scarlet letter was her passport into regions where other women dared not tread. Shame,
Despair, Solitude! These had been her teachers stern and wild ones and they had made her strong,
but taught her much amiss. The A was meant to cripple Hester; to be a warning a reminder to
others that sin would forever follow till death, as this was puritan belief. Hester though lonely

How Did Robert E Lee Make Wrong Decisions
Robert E. Lee was one of the most outstanding military leaders during the civil war because he had
experience before the war that helped him make smart decisions, he made major impacts on the
war which helped the Confederacy, and he was revered by his men.
As a general for the Confederacy, Robert E. lee had many choices to make that could have dire
consequences if he made the wrong decision. This is where his prior war experience comes into
play. He has developed his skills through his experience in the Elite Engineering Corps and the
Mexican War. As said by Dowdey (2017), his experience in the Engineering corps helped them at

Lee s brilliance is not the only thing that helped the confederacy, the trust his men put into his
abilities is what gave the Confederacy an edge against the Union. His men saw him as an
untouchable, smart and strong leader, this belief started to form during the seven day battles.
As said best by Pryor (2017)
Because it was the first major victory for the Confederacy since Bull Run, and because it halted a
succession of military reversals, Lee emerged overnight as the people s hero, and his soldiers
developed an almost mystical belief in him. (Pryor 2017).
What also boosted the appreciation his men had for him was his choices in generals for his two
corps he created from the Army of North Virginia, they were Thomas J. Stonewall Jackson and
Old War Horse Lt. Gen. James Longstreet (HistoryNet). The ultimate sign of respect was after
the seven day battle when Robert E. Lee not only earned the respect of his comrades but earned
his new permanent nickname Marse Robert, which means Master Robert (Stiles). Before Robert
E. Lee earned his permanent nickname he was called Granny Lee because people did not like his
timid style of leading, but then the seven day battle happened and Robert E. Lee emerged the

Racial Inequalities In America
Racial Inequality and the American Dream
Studies show that police are more likely to pull over and frisk blacks or Latinos than whites. In

There is a reason why blacks are quicker to be arrested then whites, or why white neighborhoods

Most people will think it is the way of the world. Racial discrimination will always exist in
America. It doesn t need to be this way. Our government does not care enough about the black
people and it clearly shown. There should be a law against police just arresting blacks for no
reason. They should have their neighborhoods fixed up too. It shouldn t be legal to just be able
to accuse a black person of a crime because he happened to be standing there. There are so many
more examples of this and it just shows how are government thinks impartially too and doesn t
believe the black people are important or worth their time. Richard Hughes was very bothered by
this and he did a study with his students to show them how blacks are treated unfairly. They
analyzed crimes and arrests of black people in the past few months. The looked at how much less
money the government puts into black housing then whites. The sources include historical and
recent statistics on race, wealth, and housing; a 1937 photograph by Margaret Bourke White

I was glad to see that some of the pots were setting upside down. I liked how I was able to see
what the bottoms looked like. The Cobb Museum had a collection of Old World oil lamps. One
lamp was cream colored and teardrop shaped. The top was adorned with a thin u shaped
decoration. Small etched circles added a decorated touch. The top of the lamp had a small
looped handle. At the back of the case there was an interesting oil lamp. It was tan colored with
hints of red. The handle looked like the back fin of a whale. Next to the spout was a floral
design. Two gazelles with long, thin horns graced the sides of the lamp (http:/

spouts from Rome (Cobb). It was the only displayed lamp with multiple spouts. Two of the
spouts were missing, but it was obvious where the missing ones would have been. The two
remaining spouts had wide openings. The lamp had protruding triangles between each spout to
give the lamp a diamond shape. All of the oil lamps in Cobb were varied and unique. The replica

Judicial Review Pros And Cons
When the constitution was being drafted there was a divide between federalists, and anti federalists.
Federalists focused on the insufficiencies within the Articles of Confederation. In their opinion, the
national government required the power to tax the states and individual citizens, the Congressional
authority to regulate commerce between states, and the Congressional ability to raise funds to for a
strong national defense system. Meanwhile, anti federalists feared that the proposed Constitution
could lead to a disproportionately influential national government. Alexander Hamilton argued in

The judicial branch has the power to review legislation, and the executive branch s actions,
which it gained in the ruling of Marbury vs. Madison. The ruling in Marbury vs. Madison
(1803) established the principal of judicial review. Judicial review is the ability of the Supreme
Court to review both executive and legislative acts to determine whether or not they are
Constitutional. For example, if Congress passed a law that the judicial branch labelled as
unconstitutional then it could not be enforced. By asserting the power of judicial review through a
case ruling the judicial branch was able to secure its new power without the possibility of it being

more concerned with settling consequent cases of similar nature in lower courts, which they

Intergenerational Mobility Is Possible
Majority thinks that America is the land of opportunity, where the lower class has the ability to
succeed and prosper; statistically the truth is less expectant. According to facts presently, the

Americans earn over $125,000. Meanwhile, the median income that Americans earn is $41,000.
Any American can succeed with the right mind set. Facts also show that more Americans
considered to be wealthy have earned it rather than inherited it. I come from a family that is
considered to be working class. My parents didn t own their first home until I was 15, and I am the

Walter Mitty Ambivalence
Around half of man s thoughts are daydreams, according to a 2009 neurological study. This
supports the thought that daydreaming is a gateway that allows the mind to wonder, not just

uncommon or abnormal. Walter Mitty shouldn t be looked down upon or pitied, but instead
should be praised for his constant awareness of his own mind s thoughts, as this continuously
happens to everyone. However, Walter Mitty s wife seems to have little care and respect for her
husband s constant delusions, even though this is perfectly normal. In fact, it is highly likely that
she is also wrapped in her own delusions just as often as him. A study in 2010 by Harvard found
that people s minds tend to wander for around 46.9 percent of the time, but no less than about 30
percent during almost every activity. This in itself shows that it is not unlikely that they are both

the decline of Africa as it was nearly impossible for poor Africans to avoid being put into the
slave trade. This led to descent in Africa as they encountered decline both economically and

Best Two Things Of My Life
Best two things in my life
Reading and writing has always played part of me. From toddler to adult, I have managed to
sharpen both skills to my liking. However, even though it significantly helped, schooling was not
what influenced me to continue developing those skills to talent. Many different things shaped and
influenced my learning in my country, and now reading and writing have become the safety net of
my life. I know that even if I have nothing else in the future, I will still have my talent and
knowledge. To ensure my success, I hope to further develop those skills to be successful.
I was always a creative child; it was something I just could not not be. Back then I didn t know how
to be normal. While the other children wrote ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, something was missing from my life, and even then I could feel it.
When I got a little too old to play outside, I began reading. Reading was the new outlet for my
imagination and the stories I read fascinated me. They weren t too unlike the scripts of computer
games or the own stories I came up with on my own, but books actually had the action and
emotional aspects written out. And again, while my peers were reading things about growing
up, things that had morals and would teach valuable lessons (I remember one book about a
shoplifter who had to do community service at an animal shelter), I read real fiction: Jurassic
Park, Dragonriders of Pern, Lord of the Rings... Stuff of fantasy and science fiction that let my
mind stray from reality. Stuff that kept my imagination alive while I was being forced to learn
multiplication and the names of countries. Of course, my teachers encouraged me to keep
reading, as long as I wasn t doing the reading in the middle of their lectures. But it wasn t because
of their influence, however, that kept me interested in books. It was because I loved it. It put
pictures into my head and made me think. So I kept reading. But even then I knew reading wasn t
enough... Yes, the stories were fascinating, but they weren t what I wanted. Back then I wasn t sure

Personal Narrative-My Hero s Journey To Success
TOGETHER AGAIN If you re lost, just look for me... You ll find me in the region of the
summer stars I sang along with them, One Direction. I stood with Lou and Lux in the VIP
section surrounded by screaming fangirls. Lou Teasdale was One Direction s hair stylist and
Lux Atkin was her daughter, and I am Niall Horan s sister, Faith Horan. Living the life of a small
celebrity, YouTuber, and touring with One Direction. Being Niall Horan s sister is every
directioners dream, it s nice and but, hate/death threats. I always see at least one comment or tweet
about how I don t deserve to be Niall s sister or You only want the fame . Traveling from place to
place without my best friend, Summer Everettwas hard, but i did have a family with me, the 1D
Family. Summer Everett, my sister is always there for me. When I turned 18, I decided to move
to the sunny Southern California. We live in LA together, while my parents, Bobby Horan and
Maura Gallagher, divorced, lived in separate houses in Ireland. The concert ended with Best
Song Ever and I disappeared in the crowd. I drove home by myself singing along to Taylor Swift. I

This video is a real goodbye. My best friend, Summer Everett died two and a half months ago.
She died telling me. I felt disappointed because how a terrible friend I was. I didn t know that she
was struggling with anorexia nervosa, which is when you are too insecure about your body weight
and you start to starve yourself, but you throw up when you do eat. Summer wasn t open to me
which makes me feel like she doesn t trust me or our friendship. I m sorry if you are bored of this
video, but I decided to end this. I love you guys watching this, Niall, Louis, Liam, Harry, Lou,
Lux, Lottie, Paul, Danny, Cameron, Mum, Dad, and others. I m sorry if I disappointed you guys,

Explain Anslem s Ontological Argument
730012506 PHIL 134H Paper # 1 Anselm s Ontological Argument Eleventh century French
monk, Anslem of Catenbury, offered a deductive argument proving the existence of God. In
order to truly grasp the argument, we must first attempt to understand the philosopher and his
own ideologies. Anslem preludes his proof by stating his profound faith in God, consequently
affirming that it is only through God s enlightening that his understanding can reach as high as
God. He also adds that he who says in his heart that there is no God is a fool, per the Bible.
Anslem s argument is based greatly on what he understands to be the nature of God s being that
than which nothing greater can be conceived. The deductive argument simply put goes as
follows: 1.God is the greatest thing we can think of. 2.Things can exist only in our imaginations,
or they can also exist is reality. 3.Things that exist in reality are always better than things that
exist only in our imaginations. 4.If God existed only in our imaginations, he wouldn t be the
greatest things that we can think of because God in reality would be better. Therefore, God must
exist in reality. Although the logic in Anslem s appears to be flawless, the proof s rate of
converting non believers into believers is very low if not zero. Even those who are believers aren t
convinced by the proof, as in the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We know the statement all plants are edible is false, so the rest of the argument, no matter how
logical, cannot be true. Anslem gets his inspiration to define God from his faith and sets it as the
absolute truth; however, since faith is not a valid philosophical argument, it fails. Anslem jumps
from hypothesis to theory without any proof. Additionally, the greatest is extremely vague, such so
that he is able to later accommodate the definition in his reply to the counter argument proposed,
which some may characterize as

Comparing Artemisia Gentileschi And Leonardo Da Vinci
Everyone knows Leonardo da Vinci, but do you know Artemisia Gentileschi? Women in the
renaissance, no matter how talented, were always degraded by men. These two admirable artists
both helped society by creating new painting techniques and many more new artistic skills.
However they both came from very different backgrounds and both were treated in different ways.
Artemisia Gentileschi, was the daughter of a major follower of revolutionary paintings. In her
early years she developed a love of painting and begged her father to become a pupil of a
landscape painter. The painter was a friend of her father s and reluctantly agreed. Her first work
of art was a biblical image. Susanna and the Elders ( Artemisia Gentileschi ). Leonardo da Vinci on
the other hand, was a illegitimate son of a Florentine landlord. Thus he was sent to school and ...

She also collaborated with King Charles the I of Great Britain by being paid to take part on
ceiling painting in Great Hall in Queen s House in Greenwich. ( Artemisia Gentileschi ) Over
the years she painted many portraits and surpassed many artists that had tried to grab fame.
Despite the fact that Artemisia was a great artist, Leonardo s most famous works of art were and
still are greatly admired. The Mona Lisa and the Last Supper are the most renown and greatly
printed pieces of art in the world!( Leonardo Di Ser Piero Da Vinci. ) Also unlike Artemisia,
Leonardo would often procrastinate and do experiments on his artwork. Nevertheless, Leonardo
was a multitasker and the art that he did finish were and still are revolutionary. ( Leonardo Di Ser
Piero Da Vinci. ) Artemisia Gentileschi and Leonardo da Vinci were both amazing artists, however
their life as artists was greatly impacted by their

Online Child Predators
Nowadays with the use of technology child predators lurk around the internet looking for his or
her next victim. An online child predator is anyone seeking out children or teens to exploit them
for sexual abuse. Online child predators can either be male or female, but most them are male. The
profile of an online child predator is complex, because the predators come from all different
backgrounds.
Online child predators have many methods of locating, grooming, and abusing their victims. These
predators locate their victims online through chatrooms, instant messaging, email, as well as social
media sites (Wolak, Finkelhor, Mitchell, Ybarra 2008). Once the predator finds his victim, he will
then begin grooming the child. The purpose of the grooming process is to establish and gain the
child s trust (Enough is Enough, 2017). The predators grooming tactics include, but not limited to:
flattering and complimenting the child excessively, send gifts, invest time, money, and energy to
groom the child, develop trust and secrecy, manipulate the child by listening to and sympathizing
with the child s problems and insecurities, and make promises of an exciting, stress free life,
tailored to the youth s desire (Enough is Enough, 2017). Once the predator has gained the trust of
his victim, he will then begin to test his boundaries with the child by engaging in sexual
conversation to exploit the child s natural curiosity about sex (Enough is Enough, ... Show more

I was drawn to the ASCH experiment because I am interested in social behavior. The ASCH conformity experiments was simple, but there is nothing wrong with a minimalistic approach. I think it s interesting to know that a simplistic approach to an experiment may yield astounding data. 2.Describe what this study demonstrated about human behavior and mental processes using the results of the study along with information you have learned in Units 1 3. Is it demonstrated in the study you selected? Why or why not? Explain your reasoning using reference to the study. Social observation learning is when a person learns by observing others. Social observation learning was demonstrated in the ASCH experiment video. Social observation plays a role in the ASCH experiment in the sense that the subjects neglected their own thought process to avoid judgment. As with most technology the definition of state of the art is incredibly subjective and is rooted in social and economic issues (Diaper Sharma 2007). For the treatment of sewerage this is particularly true and it is hard to separate technology from social and economic issues, as such both will be addressed together. Currently most of the technology used is state of the art based on the on recent implementation of the new upgrade to the treatment process by the addition of tertiary processing (Melbourne Water 2014). There are always improvements in technology that could be implemented but when taking in to consideration the low economic viability of many new technologies for a commercial scale at the present time, the current technology is cutting edge for its purpose and cost (Melbourne Water 2014). As new technology becomes more economical than this question will have to be readdressed. • 10. Non Exchange Exchanges And Non Market Exchanges In our modern civilization, two types of exchange characterize the relation among human: market exchanges and non market exchanges (Adjamagbo 1997; Mauss 1950). The first form is characterized by the actions of buying and selling goods or services at a given price and under the rules of the market. The second concerns exchanges not governed by rules of the market but instead by social and cultural norms. This latter form of exchange includes private transfers among households, intergenerational transfers within a family, transfers from households to nonprofit organizations or the other way around, and public transfers from government or public agencies to households. Inter households and intergenerational transfers are the most common form of non market exchanges. They include donations, gifts, remittances and bequests and can involve different, related or unrelated, individuals within a community. Private transfers are common in most countries, both developing and developed nations. In developed countries, intergenerational transfers or bequests tend to be the largest form of private transfers. However, in developing countries transfers within the same generations and between related or unrelated households are the most frequent forms (Kazianga 2006). To me personally, the word genre is it describes either a novel, film, video game or music by certain generic ideas or rules of what defines that specific genre. Stories can be described through narrative forms, such as if the writing piece is either a short story, a novel or even a poem or narration. Also, stories can even be characterized by either similar themes or settings and/or if they follow a certain structure such as if a book is either defined as comedy or drama. They also discuss certain books that they have written and how some people have complained that it shouldn t be classified as a fantasy novel. I agree with some of Neil Gaiman s statements, such as how he states that the subject of the book doesn t determine genre and that genres only exist when there s an abundance of novels that fit that specific genre. I both partly agree and disagree with Kazuo Ishiguro. I agree with how he believes that there are certain patterns that are associated with the genre, however, many readers and writers take these specifications too seriously, and believe that if you don t follow the certain standards of what makes a specific genre, they believe that it is strange. However, I don t agree with Ishiguro when he states Books are serving the same function as certain brands of cars or jewelry, in just denoting social position. That kind of motivation attaches itself to reading in a way that probably doesn t attach itself to film (Ishiguro 7). His aims were explained in detail in his book Mein Kampf, of what he would do to make Germany a great nation again. His main aims were to: Abolish the Treaty of Versailles Like many Germans, Hitler believed that the Treaty of Versailles was unjust. He hated the Treaty and the German politicians were in his view, November Criminals . The worst aspect of the Treaty was that it was a reminder to the Germans of their defeat in the First World War and their humiliation by the Allies. By doing this, he solved one of Germany s biggest problems and also delivered his promise of making Germany great again and breaking the terms of the Treaty of Versailles. Hitler was aware that rearmament was popular with the German public, however he also knew that it would cause alarm in other countries. Therefore, he started the process in secret. To reinforce this, he made a great public display of his desire not to rearm Germany claiming that he was only doing it because other countries refused to disarm. Hitler also left the League of Nations after Japan. In 1935 Hitler staged a massive rally in order to show the world the German armed forces. In 1936 he also introduced conscription to the army. Although this was a risky move, Hitler guessed right, in thinking that he could get away with rearmament. Many other countries were also using rearmament as a method of reducing the unemployment rate. The collapse of the League of Nations Disarmament Conference in 1934 had shown that other countries were not prepared to disarm. Rearmament was a popular move in Germany. It boosted Nazi support. Hitler also knew that Britain had some sympathy for Germany on this issue, as Britain believed that the limits put on Germany s armed forces by the Treaty of Versailles were too strict. It was clear that the permitted forces were not enough to defend Germany from attack. Also, Britain thought that Germany would be a good buffer against Communism. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This power is both due to the nature of masculinity itself, as well as Margaret s unwavering convictions about what she perceives to be masculine. For any man, their masculinity will be influenced by the women around them. This is because masculinity exists in a duality with femininity; they define themselves against one another, what is dominant is masculine and what is submissive is feminine, stoicism and emotional, blue and pink. Without one to cast its shadow on, the other loses its structure. Thus, masculinity measures itself against the mensuration that femininity lays out for it. This reliance on one another... This is drastically different to Mr. Hale s reactions, which would instead leave Margaret up to her own devices to fulfill his role, and shows how Margaret s influence on the men around her does not just lead to emasculation, but a push toward a fuller embodiment of their masculinity. Life History When Maria Antonia Josepha Johanna wed Louis XVI, she was told to leave everything behind; her Austrian clothes, possessions, servants, her animal and even her name was changed to Marie Antoinette. Another dress of style she came to wear after becoming a mother is known as chemise a la reine. She stopped wearing all the glitz and glam that she had been known for and opting for a simpler look in her outfits. She began wearing a light, shapeless dress called a gaulle. It was made of layers of simple muslin, loose fitting and shaped by a sash tied around the waist. It also didn t have the usual panniers under the skirt, which were often so extreme that door frames had to be widened to accommodate dresses. It meant the material could mold around the legs, also shocking at the time (Winterman, 2012). Critics of this type of dress said she looked as though she were wearing just undergarments. In conclusion, Marie Antoinette was not only a prominent figure in history, but she could also be noted as an important mention in fashion history as well. She paved the way for a new type of look and style that others during the time would not have ever thought of doing. References Contributors. (2008, September 2). She is required to wear a scarlet A on her dress to shame her. She must stand on the scaffold for three hours, to be exposed to public humiliation. As Hester approaches the scaffold, many of the women in the crowd are angered by her beauty and quiet dignity. The Scarlet Letter written by Nathanial Hawthorne centers on sin, identity and society. The meaning of the A in the Scarlet Letter is meant to mean Adulterer . The meaning is not definite, the A meaning rather ambiguous is taken to mean what the person wants it to mean, equivocally it can be said that the meaning(s) of the A mirrors the beliefs and thoughts of its onlookers. Her intellect and heart had their home, as it were, in desert places, where she roamed as freely as the wild Indian in his woods... I had a hard time knowing what instruments I heard, although I could identify some of them. I did not hear any of these songs that sounded like an audio snapshot, they all sounded like they were recorded in a studio setting with that being the intent. LoveMe Do and Can t Buy Me Love sounded like a simple recording, while the other two songs sounded more produced, the last song Tomorrow Never Knows sounded the most produced. I could hear the drums in all the songs, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Christopher Columbus set out on his voyage in hopes to find a sea route to Asia for Spain, which resulted in him arbitrarily discovering the Americas. This opened the door for the previously secluded Americas by bringing them into perpetual contact with Africa and Europe. This led to social and economic transformations that assimilated the societies in Western Europe, Africa, and the Americas. Although many aspects of society were altered, some characteristics from earlier societal days remained unaffected. Western Europeans were the prevailing players in the Atlantic World as they swiftly came to dominate the economic side of the Columbian Exchange, as well as advancing their societal influence over Africa and the Americas stimulating reassessment of existing cultural traditions.... As the European need for slaves to be exported from Africa to the Americas increased, it allowed them to further develop their societies at the disbursement of Africa. It began as a small profitmaking system of transporting a few Africans in exchange for European goods like guns, but led into being a large market that endorsed the capture of many Africans to be transported to the Americas. In response to the European demands, a new social system evolved as whites were the superior and blacks were subservient. Slaves were viewed as property and had no rights. Slave ownership became a key factor to economic success for Europeans. The result of this was the decline of Africa as it was nearly impossible for poor Africans to avoid being put into the slave trade. This led to descent in Africa as they encountered decline both economically and socially. The problems in current day Africa root all the way back to the participation in the slave trade. However, even though it significantly helped, schooling was not what influenced me to continue developing those skills to talent. Many different things shaped and influenced my learning in my country, and now reading and writing have become the safety net of my life. I know that even if I have nothing else in the future, I will still have my talent and knowledge. To ensure my success, I hope to further develop those skills to be successful. Reading was the new outlet for my imagination and the stories I read fascinated me. They weren t too unlike the scripts of computer games or the own stories I came up with on my own, but books actually had the action and emotional aspects written out. And again, while my peers were reading things about growing up, things that had morals and would teach valuable lessons (I remember one book about a shoplifter who had to do community service at an animal shelter), I read real fiction: Jurassic Park, Dragonriders of Pern, Lord of the Rings... Stuff of fantasy and science fiction that let my mind stray from reality. Stuff that kept my imagination alive while I was being forced to learn multiplication and the names of countries. Of course, my teachers encouraged me to keep reading, as long as I wasn t doing the reading in the middle of their lectures. But it wasn t because of their influence, however, that kept me interested in books. It was because I loved it. It put pictures into my head and made me think. So I kept reading. • 43. Explain Anslem s Ontological Argument 730012506 PHIL 134H Paper # 1 Anselm s Ontological Argument Eleventh century French monk, Anslem of Catenbury, offered a deductive argument proving the existence of God. In order to truly grasp the argument, we must first attempt to understand the philosopher and his own ideologies. Anslem preludes his proof by stating his profound faith in God, consequently affirming that it is only through God s enlightening that his understanding can reach as high as God. He also adds that he who says in his heart that there is no God is a fool, per the Bible. Anslem s argument is based greatly on what he understands to be the nature of God s being that than which nothing greater can be conceived. The deductive argument simply put goes as follows: 1.God is the greatest thing we can think of. 2.Things can exist only in our imaginations, or they can also exist is reality. 3.Things that exist in reality are always better than things that exist only in our imaginations. 4.If God existed only in our imaginations, he wouldn t be the greatest things that we can think of because God in reality would be better. Therefore, God must exist in reality. Although the logic in Anslem s appears to be flawless, the proof s rate of converting non believers into believers is very low if not zero.
