Let s Go Aero Travel Trailers: A Case for Incorporating the New Model of the Organization into the
Teaching of Budgeting
Sally Wright University of Massachusetts Boston
INTRODUCTION
Let s Go Aero manufactures travel trailers bought primarily by young families and retirees interested
in a light, low cost trailer that can easily be pulled by a mid sized family car. The market for travel
trailers has expanded nicely over the past few years due to the number of families seeking a relatively
low cost, outdoor vacation experience. But in the view of Let s Go Aero s president, Mark Newman,
the real growth in the future is in the retiree market. Newman believes the vigorous health of the
average retiree, coupled with the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

vendor contract due to Tom s uneven production schedule and his refusal to pay on time. Tom has
been seen reading the help wanted ads, and Vicky over heard him talking to an employment agency. In
keeping with the policy set by Tom as Let s Go s production manager, the amount of sheet aluminum
on hand at the end of each month must be equal to one half of the following month s production needs
for sheet aluminum. The raw materials inventory on December 31, 2010, was budgeted to be 39,000
square yards. The company does not keep track of work in process inventories. Budgeted expenses for

TRAILER PRODUCTION
Sheet aluminum represents the company s single most expensive raw material. Each travel trailer
requires 30 square yards of sheet aluminum. The wholesale cost of sheet aluminum varies
dramatically according to the time of year. The cost per square yard can vary from $15 in the spring,
when new construction tends to start, to $8 in December and January, when demand is lowest. The use

Sexism As A Scientist Or Engineer
In the long history of sexism in science, technology, engineer and mathematics (STEM), women have
been discrimination of being unfit or not apprehensiveness enough for being a scientist or engineer by
men who have high doubtful on women or mocking women working as an engineer that they would
destroy something. Determining or judging the action of the gender in different position and the
thinking of discrimination from the superior race or gender to the lesser is what it called sexism.
Sexism is most common in science and engineer especially women is the most affected.
In my desired job position in the world of Biotechnology, I have an inferior knowledge in my brain
about women in the lab. In the past of my experiences with my brother, I went to visit his college
called California State University, Fresno or Fresno State for short. I used my experience in this essay
because it is related to my job position and the case that I will explain henceforth in this essay. I
entered Fresno State to explore several buildings on campus. The first building I went into is College
of Science and Mathematics. As you see, I love to learn about microorganisms, so I went to see the
lab. As I peeked in the lab, I noticed something that seems not right. I don t see any women in the lab,
just men. I asked someone in the lab why is there no women in the lab. That person told me those
women is not good enough to be scientist. Did I just hear sexism from his voice? That is when I
realized I

Gravity And Force Essay
There is gravity everywhere. It gives the shape for the planet orbit and the orbit of the solar system
and even the galaxies. Gravity that comes from the sun get throughout the solar system that keeps the
orbit of the planet. The gravity that comes from the earth keeps the moon and human satellites in orbit.
Gravity is a force pulling together matter which is basically everything you touch. Forces are in play
all around us. Things that is hanging, sitting, balancing, and moving are all using force. Force can
come in many different forms and types. Force is a push or pull. It is not something that you touch or
see but you can see the force in action. Force can be measured in a device that is called the force
meter. If there is an interaction between two object it means that force if found in the two objects.
Gravity and Force had affected our lives in different ways one of these ways it improved our ability to

Copyright Laws Over Creative Works
Copyright is a federally protected part of intellectual property that automatically regulates creative
works of authors. Copyright laws began approximately around the 15th century in Europe. The cause
for such regulations stems from infringement of creative works. These works fall into one of three
main categories; music, visual works, and literary works. Copyright infringement highlights the need
for copyright laws over creative works in music, art and writing, resulting in an ever changing
copyright landscape. Title 17 of the United States Code outlines what does not fall into any of these
three categories, and therefore cannot be protected under copyright. It is also important to note that not
every use of a creative work ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Upon creation of a creative work, copyright protection is automatically awarded (Moser, 2012, p.5).
According to Lau et al., copyright lasts for seventy years after the death of the author(s) and for a
corporation, ninety five years after being published or one hundred twenty years from the creation
date depending on which is sooner. Article I, Section 8 of the United States Constitution, or Copyright
Clause, and Title 17 of the United States Code also work to protect copyrights at the federal level. As
stated by Congress, the Copyright Clause encourages the Progress of Science and useful Arts, by
securing for limited Times to Authors and Inventors the exclusive Right (Lau, 2014). As stated in Title
17 § 1 102, works outside of the works of authorship categories are not copyrightable. Public domain
is one of these categories, Lau et al. describes it as any intellectual property not protected by law and
feely available for any member of the public to use (2014). After a copyright of a work has expired it
becomes part of the public domain as well. Sound recordings are another example of an un
copyrightable works that result from the fixation of a series of musical, spoken, or other sounds, but
not including the sounds accompanying a motion picture or other audiovisual work, regardless of the
nature of the material objects, such as disks, tapes, or other phonorecords, in which they are embodied
(17, § 1 101 ). Ideas cannot be copyright protected because

Owens Valley Summary
Kharl argues that in the case of the Sierra Nevada s Owens Valley, located approximately 250 miles
north Los Angeles, the valley s agricultural shareholders and the City of Los Angeles originally sought
an agreement that reserved sufficient water for valley residents to maintain their ranching life style
while concurrently exporting the valley s surplus to the soon to be developed San Fernando Valley.
Such an agreement would allow rural users to maintain their ranches while concurrently allowing Los
Angeles to grow. In 1913, as plans for the Los Angeles Aqueduct finally came to fruition with water
flowing from the valley to the basin, years of effort ended with both parties unable to agree to an
acceptable division of those waters with the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

that the terms of the Colorado Compact, the document dividing the Colorado s waters, is an

California receives the largest share, but with Southern California s exploding population, this will be

Geothermal Energy is the Solution to the Energy Crisis Essay
Geothermal Energy: A Solution to the Energy Crisis
Abstract
So far, scientists have not found a successful substitute for fossil fuels that can handle both the large
demand for energy and solve the global warming problem. I propose that geothermal energy is a clean,
widely available, and renewable alternative to the usage of fossil fuels. In this paper, I will explain
how use of geothermal resources can be energy efficient, environmentally clean, and cost effective. I
believe that the US government should increase funding for geothermal energy research. This may be
the solution to our present energy crisis and global warming.
Introduction
There is a call of action to solve today s energy crisis. What we need urgently is a clean, ... Show more

Fossil fuels (oil, coal, natural gas) take up about 80 % of total energy consumed. Fossil fuels cause
pollution and global warming yet we continue to use them. Our demand for fossil fuels has become so
great that according to current projections, Earth s reserves will be depleted within the next 200 years.
But we do not actually have 200 years to wait. Our run away consumption of fossil fuel not only
endangers our ability to meet our future energy needs but also the environment. Fossil fuels cause
significant pollution and global warming. This in turn compromises wildlife habitats and can even
lead to extinction of animal and plant species. By looking at new sources such as geothermal energy,
we can move towards a source that is not extremely harmful and yet still effective.
Geothermal Energy
Geothermal energy is heat energy that is stored underneath Earth s surface. It is mainly found at
volcanoes, hot springs, or geysers. Heat stored in the hot water and steam found at these locations is
captured and can be used to heat buildings or generate electricity. This energy source is renewable
because heat from the earth is continuously produced. To obtain energy, you must either use hot water
or steam from the source. The most common way of capturing the energy from geothermal sources is
to tap into naturally occurring hydrothermal convection systems where cooler water seeps into Earth s
crust, is heated up, and then rises to the

Homeowner Fire Safety
Any homeowner with a decent amount of land can enjoy the pleasures of their very own fire pit by
merely acquiring the right materials and tools to complete this project. A shovel, steel rake, tape
measure, level, and spray paint are the are the required tools. The homeowner should decide on the
material he or she wants for the barrier. This includes cast concrete stones, bricks, or a metal ring.
With careful consideration of the fire code in the ordinance, a safe spot is picked. The spot must be at
least twenty feet away from any buildings or structures for the safety of the homeowner and his or her
neighbors. It is important to avoid any low hanging branches or structures above the location of the pit
as well as any utility lines beneath. The homeowner should also take into account how level the spot
is. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A typical fire pit is thirty six to fifty eight inches in diameter. The homeowner must decide on a size
most suitable to their liking. A circle will be sprayed around the perimeter of the desired diameter. He
or she must then dig a hole six to twelve inches deep, within the circle, being careful not to puncture
any unknown utility lines. The homeowner must then pour either sand or gravel into the hole, leveling
afterward. The next step is building the fire barrier, consisting of either cast concrete stones, bricks, or
a metal ring. The homeowner stacks the desired building material, around the perimeter of the hole.
He or she can leave a half inch gap between the bricks or stones to help aerate the fire. The barrier
must be at least one foot above the surrounding area. Once stacked, additional sand or gravel is poured
into the hole, covering at least halfway up the first layer of bricks or

Greasy Lake Character Development
Character development in short story, from I ve noticed, tends to be brought on by sudden unexpected
twist. Often times those twist lead to the demise of the protagonist. Essentially, there are a lot of short
stories that build on a type of too little too late variant of character development. The narrator in
Greasy Lake starts out as something of an innocent teenager posing as a tough guy. In the beginning of
the story, the narrator described nature as the full throated roar of rock and roll. The narrator and his
friends wanted to head down to the lake to get drunk, do drugs, and chase girls. They thought they
were bad (bad meaning good in the context) because they didn t fit in with what they thought was

The effect of body composition, size and age on the regulation of glucose in fasting individuals
Abstract: Glucose homeostasis is the process in which the body regulates glucose by secreting
hormones such as insulin and glucagon from the pancreas. It is controlled by a mechanism known as a
negative feedback loop. The experiment compares the blood glucose levels of three fasting individuals
at several intervals within 120 minutes, body measurements such as BMI and body fat percentage
were also recorded. Sample 1 and the experimental sample had similar blood glucose up until the
readings taken at 60 minutes however from there onward sample 1 did not regulate glucose as well as
the experimental sample. Sample 2 exhibited high blood glucose levels at every reading, showing that
they do not regulate glucose properly. In comparison to the other subjects sample 2 is the oldest, has
the highest BMI value and the largest waist to hip ratio, in conclusion body composition plays an
important role on how the body regulates glucose. Introduction: Glucose is a key source of energy for
much of the cells, tissues and organs within the body. The result of either a low or high blood glucose
level can have catastrophic effects on the body. For instance, a low blood glucose level; known as
hypoglycaemia, can lead to a person suffering from seizures, loss of consciousness and at extreme
cases death (Szablewski, 2011). Similarly, prolonged instances of high blood glucose levels; known as

What Is The Role Of Sports In The 80 s
The origins of the Cold War from 1917 1945, the United States was faced with tough times during the

With the 21st century ideal of consumerism, ESPN was the first to get rights to cover and film college
basketball. The first game they covered was the 1979 NCAA championship game between Indiana
State and Michigan State, which highlighted the future rivalry between Larry Bird and Ervin Magic
Johnson. These two helped pave the way of the NBA in the 80 s as flashy and faced pace. This is a
transition of the old school style of play of slowing the tempo and passing to find the open layup. For
example, the dunk contest helps with the flashy play with the dunks of Dominique Wilkins, Spud
Webb, and Michael Jordan. Everyone remembers Jordan s dunk from the free throw line, in which hits
the 21st century theme of making money. The commercial of Air Jordan was a success, in which leads
the development of the sport of having the best athletes go on TV and sell products. Also, athletes are
now looked upon as role models to their fans, which is another development of sports over the years.

Plastic Persuasive Speech
Yes, you read that correctly. Currently, I am trying to cut plastic out of my life, and so is Charleston.
Why, you ask? There are so many reasons, but I ll start with this:
By the year 2050, there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish.
Yes, you read that correctly.
Here s the scoop
Plastic never, ever, ever, ever, ever goes away. It will continue to break down, but it will never fully
decompose. What does this mean for our ocean? It means that more and more plastic is getting into
our waterways and ocean life is consuming the plastic, thinking it is food. Unfortunately, they are
being poisoned by our trash. They are also consuming it, and think about this, then we eat that fish,
which means we are consuming the plastic YUCK!
How is plastic getting into our oceans in such large quantities? Some of it is coming from boats, but
this is a very small quantity. Most of it is simply coming from littering. This means littering on the
beach, on our streets, etc. Think about how our litter gets blown into the sewer...then it eventually
makes it way into the ocean.
So, what can you do to cut out plastic? First, start looking around you. Becoming aware of how much
plastic you encounter on a daily basis is a huge eye opener. Plastic is everywhere. There is the the
plastic that helps you (medical equipment, your car, etc.). Then, there is one time use, convenient
plastics (straws, styrofoam containers, plastic bags/baggies, etc.).
Once you start becoming aware of what

Construction Of An Underground Network Of Tunnels
Introduction
In the 1850s over 400,000 tonnes of waste and sewage was being discharged into the River Thames
each day. By 1858 the stench from the raw sewage around and within the Thames was named the
Great Stink . It was a Civil Engineer named Joseph Bazalgette who proposed a plan of the creation of
an underground network of tunnels, to put an end to the polluted river. His engineering feat has been
improved and extended vastly but the Victorian Sewers still stand as London s primary sewer system.
The sewers were designed to be a combined system meaning rainwater and waste were transported in
the same manner. Bazalgette designed Combined Sewage Overflow (CSO) points along the Thames.
The CSO s discharged the sewage and rainwater into the Thames after substantial rainfall, this
prevented flooding the streets and houses. When designing the sewers, population increase was taken
into consideration. (16) The underground system and factories were designed to treat and transfer
sewage of up to double the population that was present when construction began. However the
population of London almost quadrupled from 2.35 Million in 1850 (19) to 8.17 million in 2011(7).
This drastic increase meant that the sewers were overloaded. The CSO s were overflowing with only
2mm of rainfall and on average discharging into the Thames around twice a week. The head of
Thames Water Phil stride, said Currently, 32 million cubic metres of storm sewage overflows from
London s Victorian sewers into

Relationship Between Cherry Stepwood And Hedda Gabler
Mackenzie Sullivan

Balancing True Love
The male female relationships in Ibsen s play Hedda Gabler, and Chekhov s play The Cherry Orchard
show the women partners as incapable of the mutual respect and understanding necessary for a
sustained and fulfilling committed relationship. Hedda, Thea, Madame,Varya, and even young Anya
cannot enter or maintain a marriage because each of them have not yet self actualized. None of the
relationships in the plays offer any type of fulfillment. The two writers are alike in the way that their
portrayals pose these two questions: What may a woman give and receive from her partner/husband if
she herself lacks self nourishment and balance? Societal expectations and, in the case of the The
Cherry Orchard, an aristocracy losing its wealth and power precipitate each woman s crisis. For any
healthy relationship to last, both partners have to be fully committed to each other. In both plays, none
of the relationships really offer any type of fulfillment. The title of Hedda Gabler, uses Hedda s
maiden name, Gabler, even though her married name is Hedda Tesman. Based off of the initial reading
of the title, one can already tell that there is a strong intention behind it. Isben purposely wrote the title
that way to indicate that Hedda wanted to be recognized as her father s daughter, not as her husband s
wife. This already proves that she is not fully in love with her husband and there is more that is going
on beyond just the

Center for Literacy
1.1 Overview
Literacy is important in our everyday lives. According to the Center for Literacy in the United States
of America, Literacy is a complex set of abilities needed to understand and use symbols and systems
of a culture alphabets, numbers, and visual icons for personal and community development . The
nature of these abilities, and the demand for them, vary from one context to another. These skills are
clearly being found necessary in our everyday lives (Center For Literacy, 2012). Several years ago,
being literate meant being able to read and write a little. Now, being literate means being able to read
and write at a level to be successful in today s world and also being proficient at math, knowing how
to use technology, and knowing how to solve problems and make decisions. The power of literacy lies
not only in the ability to read and write but rather the individual s capacity to put those skills in
shaping the course of his or her life. Literacy is required for daily activities such as reading the post,
filling in a job application, and helping children with their homework.
In many countries, illiteracy is a national problem. According to the National Adult Literacy Survey
(Literacy Mid South) approximately 44 million people in the United States cannot read well enough to
fill out an application, read a food label, or read a simple story to a child (Literacy Mid South).

In India, the vast majority of individuals with disabilities are unemployed and have less access to
education than individuals without disabilities (Mishra and Gupta, 2006). Individuals with disabilities
encounter difficulties that require interventions to overcome as well as to remove social and
environmental barriers (World Health Organization, 2011). In addition, individuals with disabilities
are susceptible to secondary conditions such as depression, pain, injury, overweight and obesity
among other health problems (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2016). Moreover, the
combination of disability and environmental factors contributes to create major barriers in accessing
rehabilitation services. Almost everyone who gets through old age experiences some level of increased
difficulties in functioning at some point in their life; therefore, disability is a human rights issue in
which appropriate accessibility would most certainly benefit us all (Campbell and Oliver, 1996;
Mishra and Gupta, 2006). Campbell and Oliver (1996) interviewed disability rights activists in
Europe, Asia, Southern Africa, North, Central and South America presenting a wider vision of the
individuals with disabilities life experience. The authors argued the existence of a disability movement
as always being present in history; however, with a different focus. Campbell and Oliver (1996)

The Perception Of A Social Group
The ability to manipulate perception when it comes to social movements or collective action is key.
Not just for those on the outside looking in, but those who are participating as well. It not only
determines what a social group will do to invoke change, it will also affect how a society will agree or
disagree with the change. This manipulation of perception is best defined as framing, and is more than
just labeling something as good or bad. Pulling from the articles read from this week the most
convincing conceptualization of the term framing was the argument that it consisted of three elements,
with the first being the diagnosis of something as problematic and need for alteration, followed by a
proposed solution that specifies what needs to be done, and finally a call to rational engagement in
corrective action. (Snow Benford 1988) The first point highlighted the importance of contention when
it comes to collective action. Problems within any given society are prevalent at all times, however,
not until there is a call for a change does collective action occur. Contention rests in the need for a
change, whether or not opportunity is the catalyst for contention is debatable, however the
conceptualizing of framing laid out by Snow and Benford also brings into question whether or not
collective action is a choice rather than a response. In the each of the three steps mentioned above
there has to be a framing. There has to be a framing of a situation as problematic and

Was Rockefeller A Robber Baron Argumentative Essay

Argumentative Paper
John D. Rockefeller, at his peak was said to have had a total net worth of around $341 billion in USD
today. Rockefeller was at the head of Americas first monopoly. His oil company, Standard Oil,
controlled 90% of the entire US oil industry. Rockefeller believed that he was doing the right thing,
but others did not perceive him the same way. John D. Rockefeller was indeed a robber baron.
Rockefeller was a robber baron because the ways in which he acquired his vast wealth was done so
unethically. First, he bought out all of the other competing oil companies so Standard Oil could have
control over the entire market. This was not good because now Standard Oil was able to set the new
standards for the market, including quality of the product and price. Critics accused Rockefeller of
engaging in unethical practices, such as predatory pricing and colluding with railroads to eliminate his
competitors, in order to gain a monopoly in the industry(History.com, 2010). Also, ... Show more

acquisitions. By buying other companies, Rockefeller made his company much more efficient by
eliminating the middleman of the oil refining process, therefore having all steps to the process be
unified under one corporation. Also, Rockefeller donated his money to various causes to benefit the
community. He donated to a number of different universities, medical institutions, and education
boards. The list includes University of Chicago, Rockefeller institute for medical research, General

The Challenges Of Immigrants In South Africa
Countless United states citizens declare that immigrants come to the United States to break the law,
take jobs away from natives, and seek aid from the government. Many do not stop to ask the question
why immigrants come to this country? Or why are they willing to work at such a low wage? Coming
from immigrant family myself, I have been judged and condemned by my background. But no one has
bothered to ask my background story of what is feels to come from an immigrant family. I feel no
shame and I feel proud where I came from, several will say horrible things about immigrants. Still I
am one of the millions of immigrants that are in this country going through similar challenges. As
president of South Africa, Nelson Mandela, once mention Do not judge me by my success, judge me
by how many times I fell down and got back up again.
I grew up in a Mexican household, even though I was born in the US. My first language was Spanish.
My parents use to work in the tobacco fields from 4:00 am all the way to 6:00pm in a good day. While
in school I was teased for not being able to speak English; or for dressing funny, and always smelling
like a farm, eating weird foods. I felt depressed at moments, but thankfully my mother would always
keep my mind busy. She would say The only people that are rich in life are not the ones with money in

The Presentation Of Self As A Work Developed By...
The Presentation of Self In Everyday Life is a work developed by noted sociologist Erving Goffman.
In it, Goffman details the sociological perspective of our social interactions. He uses the metaphor of
theatre to better understand the complexities surrounding interactions; it is from this seminal text that
we establish words from the dramaturgical framework such as performance, backstage, front stage,
and costume as illustrations of interactionism. He begins the book by addressing the idea of
performance. For Goffman, performance refers to all the activity of any individual which occurs
during a period marked by his continuous presence before a particular set of observers and which has
some influence on the observers. (Goffman, 1959) In other words, performance is an analogy in
reference to how a person acts, in both the front stage and backstage, for their audience. Because in
every social interaction we are putting on a performance, Goffman believes that we each have a role as
well. As with a theatrical production, the front stage and the back stage are critical in understanding
how the interaction between individual and audience is carried out. The front stage or region is where
the superior more desirable impressions of the self are brought forth; in the background, actors display
a private and more nuanced version of the self as they consider this place separate from the role they
play in society. There is also the idea of offstage, which Goffman argues is the place

Evaluation Of A Classroom Management
Classroom management is a set of methods and skills used by educators to assist students in being
more organized, alert, thoughtful, disciplined as well as being more academically productive.
Classroom management when used correctly and effectively can help teachers maintain and control
behaviors that may hinder learning for the class or a particular student, while at the same time
maximizing behaviors that enhance learning for the students (Classroom Management, 2014). A
practice that can contribute to an effective classroom management could be an entry routine. An entry
routine is a method that teachers use to establish a consistent schedule that begins when the students
enter the classroom each and every day. This routine could be pre arranged seat assignments, students
passing in assignments due, having books, paper and pencils ready or having a warm up activity at the
beginning of class. This type of routine helps maintain order in the classroom and avoids wasting
valuable learning time at the beginning of the class (Classroom Management, 2014). In addition to
entry routine, another excellent example of classroom management at the beginning of class can be a
Do Now. A Do Now is an activity that the students are given at the start of class, which is usually a
written response to a question on the board. This activity gets students ready for class by getting the
students focused and prepared for instructions (Classroom Management, 2014). A final example of a

Juvenile And Juvenile Justice System
The juvenile justice system and criminal justice system also known as the adult justice system is two
different systems. The juvenile justice system is children who are under the age of 18 years old. After
the age of 18, it is considered to be an adult it will enter through the adult justice system. There ate
states that allows youth to stay in the juvenile justice system from age 18 until 21. The main
differences between the juvenile justice system and criminal justice system is rehabilitation and
parole. The juvenile justice system main focus is rehabilitation than adult justice system. The juvenile

The parole consist of monitoring the children s behavior and actions he or she does. Another hand,
when a adult is being monitor is to focus on they behavior so it will not lead to re incarceration. The
main focus for adult criminals is to not re offend again during the present or future. There is more
chance that adults will re offend again after they are released from prison. My opinion, adults who
have been charged for sexual harassment are more likely to re offend because of the desire of pressure,
mental ill, and power. There are differences between the juvenile and adult justice system that have to
do in the criminal justice. One differences is that juveniles are prosecute to delinquent acts, but it can
be tried to the adult system. The second differences is juveniles does not have the right to a public trial
by jury. If juvenile is charged for a crime he or she committed the case involves a judge hearing
evidence and ruling whether is a big issue or small. The third differences is the adult justice system
focus more on punishing and for juvenile justice system is to rehabilitate. the fourth differences is
adults are found guilty of a crime they committed and court try to find the best punishment, but the
court tries to impose a penalty so the individual to re offend in the future. Some similarities between

The Performance Of The Car Under Test
The analysis of the performance of the car under test was completed using AVL Cruise software.
Various Graphs are obtained so that the actual performance of the car can be determined. Graph 1
(Abundance) prominently shows the torque of the engine at the respective engine speed along with the
specific fuel consumption at that speed. Approximately 230Nm is the maximum torque that can be
obtained at 4200 rpm, trailed by decrease in torque for the remaining speed. A cycle run was
conducted for three different periods of cycle in which the vehicle was accelerated then hold and
decelerated for certain time depending upon the requirement of cycle. Graph 2 A shows the change in
velocity upon change in acceleration for three different cycle times. Also the shift of gears during the
period can be observed. Graph 2 B illustrates consumption of the fuel during the three different stages.
It can be noted that when the velocity was about 50 km/h the fuel consumption was about 5.0 l/h. Also
it significantly notifies that during idling the fuel consumption is 1.6 l/h. In this Graph it can be
inferred that the maximum operating pressure is 12 Bar for a speed of 4200rpm. Maximum fuel is
consumed during the start of the engine at 0.5 bar, fuel consumption gradually decreases with increase
in engine speed. Graph 3 speaks about the maximum operating pressure is 12 Bar for a speed of
4200rpm. Maximum fuel is consumed during the start of the engine at 0.5 bar and also between 0 bar

Dying Metaphors In George Orwell s Essay
George Orwell, in his passion driven essay, derides the manner by which people nowadays normalize
the abusive usage of the English language. He believes that vagueness and incompetence plague
modern English prose, especially political discourse. A candid writer, Orwell lists a few components
of faulty English writing: dying metaphors, operators or verbal false limbs, pretentious diction, and
meaningless words. Dying metaphors are essentially cliché, hackneyed phrases or sayings that most
people know. A lot of writers are not putting in the effort to invent a new metaphor to explain a
concept that might not be straightforward. The usage of dying metaphors might show that the writer is
uninterested in what he or she is saying. Operators or verbal

The Rocking-Horse Winner, By D. H. Lawrence
This story is D. H. Lawrence s most grounded prosecution of realism and his most grounded
exhibition of the contrariness of the adoration for cash and the affection for individuals. In Paul s
troubled family, his folks marriage is inadmissible. His mom is sexually baffled: She had bonny
youngsters, yet she felt they had been pushed onto her. Clearly, she feels not satisfied, but rather
disregarded. The story tends to a couple of the subjects Lawrence is most exceptional for well, some
of them in any occasion. While it does exclude the same unequivocal sexuality that made Lawrence

An Experiment on the Synthesis and Characterization of...
Introduction In this experiment, the focus will be the synthesis and characterization of biodiesel fuel.
Biodiesel seems to have become the substitute for fossil fuel. It can also be an alternative for the
petroleum based biodiesel. By having renewable resources such as corn, soybeans, peanuts and other
makes biodiesel a viable option. Using these resources wouldn t help alleviate the problems with fossil
fuel in the US. Biodiesel is produced from the transesterification reaction of vegetable oil.
Transesterification is the reversible reaction where one ester is converted into another by exchanging
an ester group with an alcohol in the presence of a base.
Experimental
According to the Laboratory Manual, there are multiple steps. We will need 50mL vegetable oil, 10mL
methanol, 0.5mL 9M NaOH, diesel fuel, salt and ice. For preparation of Biodiesel, various types of oil
were available for synthesizing biodiesel. Measure 50mL of biodiesel into a 250mL beaker. Second,
add a clean magnetic stir bar to the oil and the place the beaker on a stirring hotplate. Adjust the
stirring rate so that the solution is being well mixed without splashing and turn heat on low. Third,
while the mixture is heating prepare a solution of methanol and sodium hydroxide. Measure 10mL of
methanol into a small beaker. Add 0.5mL of 9M NaOH to the methanol. Fourth, heat the mixture to
50C. As soon as the oil reaches 50C, turn off heat, but continue stirring. Fifth, slowly pour the

Capital Punishment Is The Most Severe Form Of All Sentencing
Capital Punishment

Capital punishment is the most severe form of all sentencing. It was first introduced in 1700 B.C.
When written under the Code of Hammurabi by the sixth Babylonian king. The laws covered nearly
all subjects but is well known for its law stating, If a man put out the eye of another man, his eye shall
be put out. ( Birth of a, 2012) The death penalty was prescribed for about twenty five crimes under the
code, but murder was not on the list.(Reggio, 1997) Capital punishment has been around for a
considerate amount of time, but continues to this day to be debated upon if it is constitutional to
lawfully murder someone for their mischievous acts. Introduction During the fourteenth century in
England, a person could be executed for a crime as minor as disturbing the peace. As with policing in
America, the death penalty was adopted into the American culture. ( Penal code, 2005) When the first
colonists came to the land now known as the United States, they brought their court and prison system
with them. A colonist in Virginia could be executed for crimes as small as stealing food or trading with
the Indians. It wasn t until the year 1608 that the first execution took place, Captain George Kendall
was hung for the capital offense of treason.( Death penalty information, 2012) Among other serious
capital crimes in colonial times were murder, rape, heresy

No Resources Left And Be On The Verge Of Dying By Pat Frank
Think about what it would be like to have no resources left and be on the verge of dying. In Pat Frank
s, Alas Babylon this question is asked over and over. One never truly knows when one is going to have
to prepare for the worst, but in this book the main character gets a hint that it is coming before it
actually comes. Randy Bragg is a fortunate man, he has never had to struggle for what he wants,
causing him to drink and be a carefree person, but this changed with one telegram. Randy is a person
who would not survive in a time of crisis and need of survival, or so one thinks at the beginning of
Alas Babylon. Randy was prepared for what was to come and he knew what he needed to do in order
to survive. One of the main things that kept Randy alive was the people he surrounded himself with;
he knew who he needed and each of their talents. Randy was a selfless person and knew he could not
fight for his life alone; he was in need of the people around him. Some people will do whatever it
takes to survive, using all of their resources. While others cannot handle the change, they believe there
is no use in living anymore in times of crisis. Each person deals with a time of crisis differently, but
survival is or should be everyone s main goal. In a time of crisis, one can see the true character of the
people around them and the worth of each person.
After reading Alas Babylon one notices how much we need to survive. Once you notice what one
needs to survive, one has to know how

If you actually write down what you are eating on a daily basis, you probably will drop your jaw in
horror. We never think to add up the little snack size candy bar here and the 2 cookies to actually see
the major impact it is having on our diets. The best way to achieve a healthy lifestyle, as far as our

they need to stop all the bad stuff all at once and then 3 days later they burn out and revert to bad

Pros And Cons Of Animal Hunting
Hunting is a very multidimensional issue which encompasses many different ways to kill wild
animals. Because some forms of hunting are much more problematic than others, I will be excluding
poaching and trophy hunting; poaching because it is illegal in every part of the world, and it entails
trespassing, typically onto protected land, to hunt endangered animals, which is misuse of hunting,
and does not represent the justness of hunting itself. I ve excluded trophy hunting because it does not
make use of the death of the animal, it is merely killed for fun and to keep the animal s heads, hides or
pelts ,1 or even its entire taxidermied body as a trophy, which is absolutely unethical as it leaves the
rest of the animal, including all of it s meat, to rot. This leaves only food game hunting and meat
hunting, both of which I will refer to as hunting from now on. These two entail hunting specified
animals with the intention of using their meat, and abiding by set regulations on the bag limit (The
maximum number of animals of a certain species one hunter can have on his person at a time), the
time of year, and location which the hunting occurs.
Many opponents of hunting state that it causes undue harm to animals. This is false. Assuming that
animals suffer more when killed via hunting rather than other natural means, it still provides food and
clothing for those that need it most, specifically in rural areas where other foods are either unhealthy,
unattainable, or end up

Surrogacy Law In Australia

Surrogacy legislation in Queensland
Due to the complications surrounding surrogacy, each state in Austalia has specific legislation which

Therefore all forms of surrogacy to be allowed. Altruistic surrogacy, which means the surrogate will

Political And Social Responsibility Of Illegal Drug...
The illegal drug trafficking found throughout Latin America is not an issue that can be solved by
either a government or an individual alone. Unfortunately, it is also an issue that requires more than
one solution in order to solve the problem. Each Latin American state is unique, as are the various
citizens who inhabit them. As drug trafficking is a transnational force, Latin American governments
often find themselves not only at odds with one another, but with larger political and economic powers
such as the United States (U.S.). In addition, how many of these states have decided to address the

Citizens may begin to question who controls the monopoly of force, who is extracting revenues
(taxes), and have resources been diverted from public goods in an effort to improve security.
Ultimately, when a Latin American nation proves unsuccessful in eliminating the illegal drug
trafficking industry, it calls into question who and what bears political and social responsibility for this
industry. Accountability for the illegal drug trafficking industry neither falls solely upon the back of a
Latin American government nor upon its citizens. Like the multiple levels of the institution found in
nations, accountability can be divided into three tiers: vertical, horizontal, and social. With concerns to
drug trafficking, vertical and social accountability best reflect who and what bears political and social
responsibility for the violence associated with the illegal drug trafficking business. Both the state and
portions of the populace interact with this industry on a daily basis. In the favelas (illegal shanty

economic industry in that geographic region but has dramatically affected the social character of the
favelas inhabitants through the adoption of a strong drug culture. The democratic regime found in

Owens Valley Summary Kharl argues that in the case of the Sierra Nevada s Owens Valley, located approximately 250 miles north Los Angeles, the valley s agricultural shareholders and the City of Los Angeles originally sought an agreement that reserved sufficient water for valley residents to maintain their ranching life style while concurrently exporting the valley s surplus to the soon to be developed San Fernando Valley. Such an agreement would allow rural users to maintain their ranches while concurrently allowing Los Angeles to grow. In 1913, as plans for the Los Angeles Aqueduct finally came to fruition with water flowing from the valley to the basin, years of effort ended with both parties unable to agree to an acceptable division of those waters with the ... • 9. Geothermal Energy is the Solution to the Energy Crisis Essay Geothermal Energy: A Solution to the Energy Crisis Abstract So far, scientists have not found a successful substitute for fossil fuels that can handle both the large demand for energy and solve the global warming problem. I propose that geothermal energy is a clean, widely available, and renewable alternative to the usage of fossil fuels. In this paper, I will explain how use of geothermal resources can be energy efficient, environmentally clean, and cost effective. I believe that the US government should increase funding for geothermal energy research. This may be the solution to our present energy crisis and global warming. Fossil fuels (oil, coal, natural gas) take up about 80 % of total energy consumed. Fossil fuels cause pollution and global warming yet we continue to use them. Our demand for fossil fuels has become so great that according to current projections, Earth s reserves will be depleted within the next 200 years. But we do not actually have 200 years to wait. Our run away consumption of fossil fuel not only endangers our ability to meet our future energy needs but also the environment. Fossil fuels cause significant pollution and global warming. This in turn compromises wildlife habitats and can even lead to extinction of animal and plant species. By looking at new sources such as geothermal energy, we can move towards a source that is not extremely harmful and yet still effective. Geothermal Energy Geothermal energy is heat energy that is stored underneath Earth s surface. It is mainly found at volcanoes, hot springs, or geysers. Heat stored in the hot water and steam found at these locations is captured and can be used to heat buildings or generate electricity. This energy source is renewable because heat from the earth is continuously produced. To obtain energy, you must either use hot water or steam from the source. The most common way of capturing the energy from geothermal sources is to tap into naturally occurring hydrothermal convection systems where cooler water seeps into Earth s crust, is heated up, and then rises to the ... • 12. The Effect Of Body Composition, Size And Age On The... The effect of body composition, size and age on the regulation of glucose in fasting individuals Abstract: Glucose homeostasis is the process in which the body regulates glucose by secreting hormones such as insulin and glucagon from the pancreas. It is controlled by a mechanism known as a negative feedback loop. The experiment compares the blood glucose levels of three fasting individuals at several intervals within 120 minutes, body measurements such as BMI and body fat percentage were also recorded. Sample 1 and the experimental sample had similar blood glucose up until the readings taken at 60 minutes however from there onward sample 1 did not regulate glucose as well as the experimental sample. Sample 2 exhibited high blood glucose levels at every reading, showing that they do not regulate glucose properly. In comparison to the other subjects sample 2 is the oldest, has the highest BMI value and the largest waist to hip ratio, in conclusion body composition plays an important role on how the body regulates glucose. Introduction: Glucose is a key source of energy for much of the cells, tissues and organs within the body. The result of either a low or high blood glucose level can have catastrophic effects on the body. For instance, a low blood glucose level; known as hypoglycaemia, can lead to a person suffering from seizures, loss of consciousness and at extreme cases death (Szablewski, 2011). Here s the scoop Plastic never, ever, ever, ever, ever goes away. It will continue to break down, but it will never fully decompose. What does this mean for our ocean? It means that more and more plastic is getting into our waterways and ocean life is consuming the plastic, thinking it is food. Unfortunately, they are being poisoned by our trash. They are also consuming it, and think about this, then we eat that fish, which means we are consuming the plastic YUCK! How is plastic getting into our oceans in such large quantities? Some of it is coming from boats, but this is a very small quantity. Most of it is simply coming from littering. This means littering on the beach, on our streets, etc. Think about how our litter gets blown into the sewer...then it eventually makes it way into the ocean. So, what can you do to cut out plastic? First, start looking around you. Becoming aware of how much plastic you encounter on a daily basis is a huge eye opener. Plastic is everywhere. By 1858 the stench from the raw sewage around and within the Thames was named the Great Stink . It was a Civil Engineer named Joseph Bazalgette who proposed a plan of the creation of an underground network of tunnels, to put an end to the polluted river. His engineering feat has been improved and extended vastly but the Victorian Sewers still stand as London s primary sewer system. The sewers were designed to be a combined system meaning rainwater and waste were transported in the same manner. Bazalgette designed Combined Sewage Overflow (CSO) points along the Thames. The CSO s discharged the sewage and rainwater into the Thames after substantial rainfall, this prevented flooding the streets and houses. When designing the sewers, population increase was taken into consideration. (16) The underground system and factories were designed to treat and transfer sewage of up to double the population that was present when construction began. However the population of London almost quadrupled from 2.35 Million in 1850 (19) to 8.17 million in 2011(7). This drastic increase meant that the sewers were overloaded. The CSO s were overflowing with only 2mm of rainfall and on average discharging into the Thames around twice a week. Relationship Between Cherry Stepwood And Hedda Gabler Mackenzie Sullivan ENG 202 12/10/2017 Balancing True Love The male female relationships in Ibsen s play Hedda Gabler, and Chekhov s play The Cherry Orchard show the women partners as incapable of the mutual respect and understanding necessary for a sustained and fulfilling committed relationship. Hedda, Thea, Madame,Varya, and even young Anya cannot enter or maintain a marriage because each of them have not yet self actualized. None of the relationships in the plays offer any type of fulfillment. The two writers are alike in the way that their portrayals pose these two questions: What may a woman give and receive from her partner/husband if she herself lacks self nourishment and balance? Societal expectations and, in the case of the The Cherry Orchard, an aristocracy losing its wealth and power precipitate each woman s crisis. For any healthy relationship to last, both partners have to be fully committed to each other. In both plays, none of the relationships really offer any type of fulfillment. The title of Hedda Gabler, uses Hedda s maiden name, Gabler, even though her married name is Hedda Tesman. Based off of the initial reading of the title, one can already tell that there is a strong intention behind it. According to the Center for Literacy in the United States of America, Literacy is a complex set of abilities needed to understand and use symbols and systems of a culture alphabets, numbers, and visual icons for personal and community development . The nature of these abilities, and the demand for them, vary from one context to another. These skills are clearly being found necessary in our everyday lives (Center For Literacy, 2012). Now, being literate means being able to read and write at a level to be successful in today s world and also being proficient at math, knowing how to use technology, and knowing how to solve problems and make decisions. The power of literacy lies not only in the ability to read and write but rather the individual s capacity to put those skills in shaping the course of his or her life. Literacy is required for daily activities such as reading the post, filling in a job application, and helping children with their homework. In many countries, illiteracy is a national problem. Not just for those on the outside looking in, but those who are participating as well. It not only determines what a social group will do to invoke change, it will also affect how a society will agree or disagree with the change. This manipulation of perception is best defined as framing, and is more than just labeling something as good or bad. Pulling from the articles read from this week the most convincing conceptualization of the term framing was the argument that it consisted of three elements, with the first being the diagnosis of something as problematic and need for alteration, followed by a proposed solution that specifies what needs to be done, and finally a call to rational engagement in corrective action. (Snow Benford 1988) The first point highlighted the importance of contention when it comes to collective action. Problems within any given society are prevalent at all times, however, not until there is a call for a change does collective action occur. Contention rests in the need for a change, whether or not opportunity is the catalyst for contention is debatable, however the conceptualizing of framing laid out by Snow and Benford also brings into question whether or not collective action is a choice rather than a response. • 26. The Presentation Of Self As A Work Developed By... The Presentation of Self In Everyday Life is a work developed by noted sociologist Erving Goffman. In it, Goffman details the sociological perspective of our social interactions. He uses the metaphor of theatre to better understand the complexities surrounding interactions; it is from this seminal text that we establish words from the dramaturgical framework such as performance, backstage, front stage, and costume as illustrations of interactionism. He begins the book by addressing the idea of performance. For Goffman, performance refers to all the activity of any individual which occurs during a period marked by his continuous presence before a particular set of observers and which has some influence on the observers. (Goffman, 1959) In other words, performance is an analogy in reference to how a person acts, in both the front stage and backstage, for their audience. Because in every social interaction we are putting on a performance, Goffman believes that we each have a role as well. As with a theatrical production, the front stage and the back stage are critical in understanding how the interaction between individual and audience is carried out. The front stage or region is where the superior more desirable impressions of the self are brought forth; in the background, actors display a private and more nuanced version of the self as they consider this place separate from the role they play in society. There is also the idea of offstage, which Goffman argues is the place ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 30. Dying Metaphors In George Orwell s Essay George Orwell, in his passion driven essay, derides the manner by which people nowadays normalize the abusive usage of the English language. He believes that vagueness and incompetence plague modern English prose, especially political discourse. A candid writer, Orwell lists a few components of faulty English writing: dying metaphors, operators or verbal false limbs, pretentious diction, and meaningless words. Dying metaphors are essentially cliché, hackneyed phrases or sayings that most people know. A lot of writers are not putting in the effort to invent a new metaphor to explain a concept that might not be straightforward. The usage of dying metaphors might show that the writer is uninterested in what he or she is saying. Operators or verbal ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 31. The Rocking-Horse Winner, By D. H. Lawrence This story is D. H. Lawrence s most grounded prosecution of realism and his most grounded exhibition of the contrariness of the adoration for cash and the affection for individuals. In Paul s troubled family, his folks marriage is inadmissible. His mom is sexually baffled: She had bonny youngsters, yet she felt they had been pushed onto her. Clearly, she feels not satisfied, but rather disregarded. The story tends to a couple of the subjects Lawrence is most exceptional for well, some of them in any occasion. While it does exclude the same unequivocal sexuality that made Lawrence notorious in his day, much like Sons and Lovers, The Rocking Horse Winner focuses an impressive sum on the association between a mother and her tyke. Rather than riding his own particular stallion, image of male sexual power, he rides a shaking horse, a movement that, in its free for all and seclusion, recommends masturbation as opposed to satisfaction with an accomplice. To offer and to get love, the main genuine satisfaction in life, is, as Lawrence brings up, to identify with yet never to control another person: The cherished one generally stays puzzling, obscure, erratic. Therefore, cherish, uninhibitedly given and got, is the precise inverse of Paul s urgent need to know, to compel learning, and to foresee what s to come. • 32. An Experiment on the Synthesis and Characterization of... Introduction In this experiment, the focus will be the synthesis and characterization of biodiesel fuel. Biodiesel seems to have become the substitute for fossil fuel. It can also be an alternative for the petroleum based biodiesel. By having renewable resources such as corn, soybeans, peanuts and other makes biodiesel a viable option. Using these resources wouldn t help alleviate the problems with fossil fuel in the US. Biodiesel is produced from the transesterification reaction of vegetable oil. Transesterification is the reversible reaction where one ester is converted into another by exchanging an ester group with an alcohol in the presence of a base. Experimental According to the Laboratory Manual, there are multiple steps. We will need 50mL vegetable oil, 10mL methanol, 0.5mL 9M NaOH, diesel fuel, salt and ice. For preparation of Biodiesel, various types of oil were available for synthesizing biodiesel. Measure 50mL of biodiesel into a 250mL beaker. Second, add a clean magnetic stir bar to the oil and the place the beaker on a stirring hotplate. Adjust the stirring rate so that the solution is being well mixed without splashing and turn heat on low. Third, while the mixture is heating prepare a solution of methanol and sodium hydroxide. Measure 10mL of methanol into a small beaker. Add 0.5mL of 9M NaOH to the methanol. Fourth, heat the mixture to 50C. As soon as the oil reaches 50C, turn off heat, but continue stirring. As with policing in America, the death penalty was adopted into the American culture. • 37. Pros And Cons Of Animal Hunting Hunting is a very multidimensional issue which encompasses many different ways to kill wild animals. Because some forms of hunting are much more problematic than others, I will be excluding poaching and trophy hunting; poaching because it is illegal in every part of the world, and it entails trespassing, typically onto protected land, to hunt endangered animals, which is misuse of hunting, and does not represent the justness of hunting itself. I ve excluded trophy hunting because it does not make use of the death of the animal, it is merely killed for fun and to keep the animal s heads, hides or pelts ,1 or even its entire taxidermied body as a trophy, which is absolutely unethical as it leaves the rest of the animal, including all of it s meat, to rot. This leaves only food game hunting and meat hunting, both of which I will refer to as hunting from now on. These two entail hunting specified animals with the intention of using their meat, and abiding by set regulations on the bag limit (The maximum number of animals of a certain species one hunter can have on his person at a time), the time of year, and location which the hunting occurs. Many opponents of hunting state that it causes undue harm to animals. This is false. Assuming that animals suffer more when killed via hunting rather than other natural means, it still provides food and clothing for those that need it most, specifically in rural areas where other foods are either unhealthy, unattainable, or end up ... The illegal drug trafficking found throughout Latin America is not an issue that can be solved by either a government or an individual alone. Unfortunately, it is also an issue that requires more than one solution in order to solve the problem. Each Latin American state is unique, as are the various citizens who inhabit them. As drug trafficking is a transnational force, Latin American governments often find themselves not only at odds with one another, but with larger political and economic powers such as the United States (U.S.). Citizens may begin to question who controls the monopoly of force, who is extracting revenues (taxes), and have resources been diverted from public goods in an effort to improve security. Ultimately, when a Latin American nation proves unsuccessful in eliminating the illegal drug trafficking industry, it calls into question who and what bears political and social responsibility for this industry. Accountability for the illegal drug trafficking industry neither falls solely upon the back of a Latin American government nor upon its citizens. Like the multiple levels of the institution found in nations, accountability can be divided into three tiers: vertical, horizontal, and social. With concerns to drug trafficking, vertical and social accountability best reflect who and what bears political and social responsibility for the violence associated with the illegal drug trafficking business.
