Wells Fargo Phony Accounts September 2016
I decided to analyze the case of Wells Fargo because I am working in a Corporate bank as well
(Finansbank) . As you know Wells Fargo is the largest commercial bank in USA. The company was
founded by Henry Wells and William Fargo in 1852. It is a well known company by all professionals
who are working in banking industry. In September 2016 federal regulators announced Wells Fargo

Sylvia Plath Daddy
Relationships can be hard to manage, especially when it comes to family. The poem Daddy by Sylvia
Plath is about a cynical father who died and left his daughter a wreck. Although the father was a bad
man, his daughter thought the world of him. The speaker of the poem hates her father because she
wants to be like him even though he was not a good man. At a few different places throughout the
poem, the speaker states that her father was anything but a good man. She describes a photo she has of
him in front of a blackboard with, A cleft in your chin instead of your foot/But no less a devil for that,
no not (53 54) which implies that her father had a cleft, much like the cleft foot the devil is commonly
pictured with, and it didn t make him any less of a devil due to its improper location. ... Show more

The vampire who said he was you/And drank my blood for a year,/Seven years, if you want to know.
The end of that line sounds like the narrator could be sarcastic, as if her father never had time to listen
to her. She talks about how her father broke her heart with all the evil he did, which could have taken
time away from her. He died when she was ten, and at age 20 she tried to commit suicide because she
wanted to be close to him again that even being in the same coffin would suffice (60 65). The closest
she could be to her father alive was by marrying a man who embodies her father, particularly his dark
side since it seemed to be all she knew. And she finds a man just so, A man in black with a Meinkampf
look/And a love of the rack and the screw (65 66). She chooses her husband even though he was bad
to make up for lost time; she was young when her father died and didn t get a chance to be with him as

The Importance Of Incidents In The Life Of A Slave Girl
The life experience of an African women during slaver time took place in the 1800 s in North Carolina
and is told in the book, Incidents in the Life of a slave girl written by. Harriet Jacobs, whom herself
tells the story of the misfortunes she went through. Her story is important, because we then learn more
about history itself, we learn how people have changed throughout history. Also the importance of
those good hearted people who even though were only a few helped and treated slaves with decency.
In these book it s shown by personal experience what many had to go back at the time which is why it
gives this book a sense of more personal feel. Because it wasn t based on what others said it what
based on first hand experiences. She did a good job at describing all the characters, and what role they
played in her life. The way the events were described obviously in a sequenced matter made one ...

She does a great part in describing the situations when she was helped also does a great
acknowledgment towards those people. She describes how not all the white people in her life were bad
people. A lot of those whom assisted with her escape were both slaves and whites. They helped her
and were there for her despite the fact that of knowing that it was illegal what they were doing. Harriet
Jacobs talks about her friends and writes, They measure a man s worth by his character, not by his
complexion. The memory of those beloved and honored friends will remain with me to my latest hour
(Jacobs 206). In making this comment, Harriet Jacobs is letting us know how thankful she is of these
people who seen beyond the color of the skin. To those who said they were Christian believers and
actually followed the human brotherhood. A matter of action speaks louder than words leaves a great
message here. This novel shows that where there is a will there s a

Benefits Of Diversity And Inclusiveness
Objective To provide you with an opportunity to value and respect diversity and inclusiveness across
all areas of work 1. What are some of the benefits of diversity in the workplace? Give at least five
examples.
2. How can you respect diversity in all areas of work? Give at least three examples.
3 What does the behaviour of someone who respect inclusiveness look like?
4 Give three examples of inclusive principles.
1 Ans: The benefits of diversity in the workplace are ;
a) High productivity: In the workplace there are numerous people belonging to different caste, culture
,sex ,class etc. and each individual has the capacity to offer different views and ideas to a particular
problem or challenge. Thus it increases employee morale and ... Show more content on

e) Equal opportunities: When the workforce comprises of a diverse group then the workplace becomes
a place where every individual is valued and appreciated. Understanding , appreciating and valuing all
staffs members different sets of skills and abilities and offering fair ,courtesy and equal opportunities
to all individuals becomes the prime motive of the company.
2 Ans: We can respect diversity in all areas of work by recognising the positive value of a diverse
community of staff, affiliates and students. The diverse workforce comprises of an individual
belonging to different background , gender , lifestyles , sexuality, socio economic status , family
composition , personal beliefs and values. Therefore respecting diversity is about trust ,honesty ,
acknowledgement, and respect for one another personal beliefs and values.
For example;
1) Children and families may suffer if their identity, culture and language are ignored. In a classroom
if the black are ignored and the white are respected then this results in clashes among the black society
and white society. So the teacher must maintain equality among all the students in the class and give
them the opportunity to reflect in the society.
2) In some of the Asian country, especially in a patriarchal family system

Kwanzaa Research Paper
Kwanzaa is an African American and Pan African holiday that celebrates family, community and
culture. It is observed from December 26 through January 1 and its origins may be found in the first
harvest celebrations of Africa, from which this holiday takes its name. Kwanzaa is derived from the
phrase, matunda ya kwanza, which means first fruits in Swahili, a Pan African tongue that is the most
widely spoken language of Africa. The first fruits celebrations are recorded in African history dating
back to Ancient Egypt and Nubia, with references, both ancient and modern, appearing in other
classical African civilizations, such as Ashantiland and Yorubaland, and among societies as large as
empires...Swaziland, for example...and smaller groups like the Matabele.
Kwanzaa was conceived and developed in 1966 by Dr. Maulana Ron Karenga, an author and scholar
activist who stresses the need to preserve, continually revitalize and promote African American
culture. Dr. Karenga is a professor with the Department of Black Studies at California State University

How Did The New Deal Affect The Federal Government
Amid the Great Depression, the role of the government altered enormously. Prior to the Depression
hit, the government did close to nothing or nothing at all to assistance individuals monetarily. This was
not seen as something the administration should do. With the Depression came an adjustment in this
discernment. President Roosevelt s New Deal made government in charge of peopling from numerous
points of view. These courses run from ensuring that they would not lose cash they had stored in banks
(FDIC) to guaranteeing that they would have cash to live on after they resigned (Social Security).
When all is said in done, the New Deal brought on another part for government, one in which the
legislature did significantly more to help people monetarily.
There are numerous history specialists who see the New Deal approaches of President Franklin D.
Roosevelt as the start of the social welfare arrangement of the Federal Government. Amid the Great
Depression, there were numerous men who had no employments; thus, their families endured hardship
and yearning. The New Deal projects were a progression of local projects, for example, the Federal
Emergency Relief ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

government. All in all, most Americans now anticipate that the national government will manage the
economy, accommodate those that battle, and essentially be occupied with the requirements of its
natives. Before the New Deal, residents looked towards nearby governments to aid critical crossroads.
After the New Deal, many look to Washington. There are numerous cases of government projects that
would not exist in the event that it were not for the priority set by the New Deal. Programs like school
help, veteran s advantages, Medicare, Medicaid, and government interests in expressions and sciences

in the backyard, one of the most important pieces of equipment is a fastpitch softball bat. You need a

Modern Day Approach To Negligence
The modern day approach to negligence has developed significantly across the twentieth and twenty
first century. The stance now taken upon an action for negligence is that it must be established that a
duty of care is owed by the defender to the pursuer in order for liability to arise. This came about
following the decision made by Lord Atkin in the case of Donoghue v Stevenson, and has been further
developed in a number of other common law examples. Prior to this revolutionary judgement, there
was a quantitative restriction as to where a duty of care would arise, primarily only in relationships of
a particular nature i.e. a doctor and their patient. Where a wrongdoer carried out an act outside a
recognised relationship, there was no general ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The neighbour principle, introducing the foreseeability and proximity factors, has been critiqued as it
can be debated that the decision extended the scope far too much. The approach itself was a way
which would be able to unify the court and aid their decision, whilst also offering an element of
predictivity in relation to future cases. It is however worth noting that it can become too predictable at
times, as in many cases the neighbour principle will be somewhat perfectly fitting. Is it just as simple
as establishing that there is even just an ounce of proximity there and hence creating that duty of care?
There has been some degree of scepticism and so this brings us to Lord Wilberforce as he attempted to
re formulate the neighbour principle in the case of Anns v Merton London Borough

Impact Of Jim Crow Laws

Jim Crows laws was a statute created that agreed to segregation. These laws were enacted by the
Southerners and the municipalities in the early 1880s. The Jim Crow saying had become so popular
that any law passed in the South dealing with blacks and whites was titled under; Jim Crow. Besides
all the negativity towards the blacks, the 16 black members of the Louisiana General Assembly passed
a law to prevent black and white people from riding together on railroads . Jim Crows law touched
almost everything in the South; such as little things like separating black and white textile workers in

Taking a Look at Four-Dimensionalism
Four dimensionalism is often seen in the field of metaphysics as a strong and sound solution to many
puzzles. Whether that s the Antinomy of Constitution, the Ship of Theseus, or the Paradox of Increase,
four dimensionalism always appears as a probable solution. But, four dimensionalism is not the all
powerful solution it appears to be at first glance. The theory itself has many repercussions if it is taken
to be true, leading me to dispute its overall validity. So what exactly is the four dimensional theory?
To begin, we must understand what the dimensions of our world are. We experience the first three
dimensions on a daily basis; namely, length, width, and height. These three dimensions are typically
referred to as the spatial dimensions. The next, fourth, dimension is then considered to be time. We
cannot specifically see time but we know that time is continually moving forward and we are subject
to its progression. Four dimensionalism then exclaims that objects consist of all four dimensions,
splitting objects into spatial and temporal parts. We see the spatial components when we look at an
object but the temporal component is harder to see. Essentially, the four dimensionalist believes that
an object is never wholly present at one instance in time but rather consists of the spatial components
and all of the temporal components. This is seen as the theory of perdurance and is accepted by four
dimensionalists (Lewis). So when we hold an object, say a

Factors That Influence Tsarina Alexandra Had On Tsar...
The fall of the Romanovs can be put down to a number of factors, one of them being the influence
Tsarina Alexandra had on Tsar Nicholas II. Due to her close relationship with the Tsar she was able to
influence and manipulate him in a number of ways and convinced him to hold on to his autocratic
power no matter what. As a result of her intervention she can be seen as a significant figure in the fall
of the autocratic system. Her significance can be measured by a number of factors such as her
relationship with the Tsar and the influence she had over him, her relationship with the Russian people
as a result of her German roots, and finally her relationship with the monk Rasputin and the influence
he had over both the Tsarina and the Tsar. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although it was the Tsar s actions that lead to many riots and fuelled the fire for revolution, he made
those decisions because of the Tsarina and her influence. She had no political knowledge but that didn
t stop her from getting involved, she was a firm believer that the Tsar deserved his autocratic power
and it was the will of God that he was in the position he was in. This belief led her to encourage him
to ignore many people who could have potentially helped preserve the autocratic system by helping
the Tsar make sensible decisions regarding the situation at hand. The fact that the Tsarina assumed an
active political role later on and would often let Rasputin to get involved was a major factor in
bringing about the fall of the Romanovs. She was unpopular as it was, but by attempting to make such
big decisions without the advice of the Duma, she was in fact destroying the autocratic system rather
than saving it as she thought she was doing. Not only did she continue to encourage the Tsar to ignore
all others, she often undermined his authority by overruling decisions made by him. By getting
involved in the way she did, she only further increased her own popularity but was also starting to
unintentionally take the Tsar down with

Steve Jobs And Jeff Bezos
Essay Both Steve Jobs and Jeff Bezos started from the ground up. As young adults you could both see
them working in their parent s garages. Many label them as successful businessmen who have shaped
the computer and technology industry. They had visions in which they turned into reality. Steve Jobs
revolutionized many areas. In this book, the author states, Only a few business icons in history
changed a single industry, but Jobs had remade several. He wasn t the creator of the personal
computer, but he was the voice and the face of the revolution, (Blumenthal, 265). He created new
computers that were easy to carry around, an Ipod that could hold hundreds of songs, the Ipad, and the

Bezos left his high paying job to start a new business. He says, It also took courage to leave
everything behind. Was it entrepreneurial boldness that drove him? Was it something else?

Time For Baseball To Pick Up The Pace
The article Time for Baseball to Pick Up the Pace by Bob Klapisch from The Record talks about how
the game of baseball is taking too much time and the game needs to make some changes to speed up
the game. One of the most important positions in baseball is the pitcher, but changing the pitcher for
every batter or multiple times in one should be limited to two per inning. Nothing has done more to
slow the pace of game than the over reliance on relievers, especially in the late innings(Klapisch).
Managers sometimes use three pitchers in one inning so they get the right matchups. By doing this
each new pitcher has to throw their warm up pitches. The pitchers also have to come in from the
bullpen to the mound. Both of these events take extra time

The Misfit Grandmother
From the last quote it is concluded that both the Misfit and the Grandmother are equal to the eyes of
God. Consequently, from a Catholic perspective, when she recognizes him as one of her children, she
is acknowledging their participation in the Mystical Body of Christ.
However, at the same time, the touching of the Misfit by the Grandmother is an acceptance of the evil
by which the Misfit has been treated, I call myself The Misfit, he say, because I can t make what all I
done wrong fit what all I gone through in punishment (O Connor 142). The touching, as an act for
forgiveness, is what unsteadies the Misfit, who has known only suffering and meanness in this life
(142). Then, the act of the Grandmother does correspond to an offering ... Show more content on

Does her performance fit that of a Catholic? Apparently, it does not. The Grandmother s attitude in the
story echoes that of a Protestant, specifically, that of a Puritan. As the story progresses, the
Grandmother voices the importance of success in redemption. The Grandmother presents herself as a
lady who wears white cotton gloves , a navy blue straw sailor hat with a bunch of white violets in the
brim and a matching dress (O Connor 130). This lady is quite self centered, manipulative, and proud;
she is constantly persuading her family to make them do what she wants. For example, after the
Grandmother has convinced them to take the dirt road, and she realizes that the house they are looking
for is not in Georgia, but in Tennessee, the Grandmother stays silent to avoid the embarrassment.
However, the most distinctive aspect of the Grandmother s personality is her sense of Utopia. She is
constantly recoiling better times which she associates with the Old South of Gone with the Wind,
when there were no paved roads (135), and more importantly, when good men were easy to find.
There also traces of what Lipset calls morality plays in the Grandmother; at the beginning of the story,
the Grandmother does not want to go to Florida because she wouldn t take [her] children in any
direction with a criminal like that aloose in it. [She] couldn t answer to [her] conscience if [she] did
(129). From the latter is drawn that she sees the Misfit situation as a battle against the Devil, and then
it is unthinkable to get even close to the

The Pioneers Of Aviation By Orville And Wilbur Wright...
Orville and Wilbur Wright brothers were the pioneers of aviation since its first flight performed in

When the reorganization of the airlines in operation occurred, the network of scheduled flights from

such as trained attendants to deal effectively with passengers during flights. Leaning on the technical

the need to transport people and goods, hence airlines became an option as business.

Egyptian Bondage And Exodus Essay
There is at least a four hundred year gap between the last chapter of Genesis and the first chapter of
Exodus (Thronveit and Gaiser). The Egyptian Bondage and Exodus story of the Old Testament centers
mostly around a man named Moses. The story is divided into three major parts that each span over a
40 year period. The first 40 years focuses on Moses s upbringing (Acts 7:23). He was raised like a
prince and lived his early life around the royalty of Egypt. His exposure with royalty was somewhat a
preparation for the leadership God had in store for him. He had a fondness of Israelites which led him
committing murder by killing an Egyptian soldier in order to protect the Israelites. Even though Moses

God wanted Moses to lead his people out of Egypt. He eventually took up the mantle and made his
return to Egypt. This began the third 40 year period. Upon return to Egypt, he patterned up with his
brother, Aaron in taking up the task to lead the Israelites. God worked through Moses to inflict 10
plagues on the Egyptians as Pharaoh initially refused to let the Israelites go, the last of them finally
persuaded Pharaoh to let the Israelites go. The Israelites spent 430 years in bondage. Although the
Israelites had left Egypt, Pharaoh still sought after them by chasing them with his army. God
accomplished the complete liberation of the Israelites by allowing Moses and his people to cross the
Red sea and then drowning the Egyptian army that followed. Around 1209 BC, Egypt lost control of
Syria Palestine in this period due to internal difficulties (Thronveit and Gaiser). This was as a result of

Theme Of Norwegian Wood
Norwegian Wood is a nostalgic novel imbued by death, suicide and sexuality. Murakami describes a
Japanese youth beset by doubts, embedded in the Spleen and surrounding by dreams. The protagonist
and narrator, Watanabe, is remembering his past as a university student, while in a plane bound to
Hamburg. All his memories appear because of the song during the landing, Norwegian Wood by The
Beatles. The song brings him back twenty years earlier, during the Sixties in the middle of the
Japanese student revolution.
After this preamble, we discover the high school life of Watanabe and the original context on which
the whole story rely. The trio composed by him, Kizuki, his best friend and Kizuki s girlfriend, Naoko.

From the beginning of the novel, we feel that the different conceptions of what is to live to Watanabe
and Naoko will make their love story impossible. The distance is unbounded between the two
characters in their platonic relation, and take a geographical dimension early in the book. However
Watanabe does not hesitate. If he is uncertain about everything in his life, he want to live and is not
absorbed by Naoko s death drives. Likewise he is not attracted by the inhumanity of Nagasawa. Every
characters of the book are allegoric of Japanese and widely more generally human beeing. Here is the
strength of Murakami s work, beyond a very Japanese context firmly anchored in student turmoils of
the Sixties in Tokyo, story and characters are universal. Main subjects like suicide, responsibility,
depression and aspiration to live fully resonate in the reader s mind, and the very Japanese sensibility
that emerges from the work is transcended by

Jimmy Smith Rap
The facts of the case: Jimmy Smith, a jazz organist in the late 1900 s, released an album called Off
The Top on Elektra/Asylum in 1982. The last song on the album, titled Jimmy Smith Rap , or JSR,
was a spoken recording. Among the lyrics, it said, Jazz is the only real music that s gonna last. All that
other bullshit is here today and gone tomorrow. But jazz was, is and always will be. Prior to this song
being released on the album, the label did not list a composer for JSR, nor was the composition
copyright registered with the U.S. Copyright Office or a performing rights organization (Peppe, 2017).
In September of 2013, Drake released his third studio album called, Nothing Was the Same , wih Cash
Money Records and Universal Republic Records. One of the 16 tracks, called Pound Cake/Paris
Morton Music 2 featuring Jay Z, had an introduction with about 35 seconds of the Jimmy Smith Rap .

Judge Pauley, after evaluating the use of JSR in Drake s song, came to the conclusion that Because
this purpose is sharply different from Jimmy Smith s purpose in creating the original track,
Defendants use is transformative and this factor weighs in favor of a finding of fair use (Maddaus,
2017). Judge Pauley also explained that Smith s phrase is an unequivocal statement on the primacy of
jazz over all other forms of popular music, while Drake s edit turns it into a statement that real music,
with no qualifiers, is the only thing that s gonna last (Collins, 2017). Based on this finding, the district
court was able to grant the defendants summary judgement motion. On May 30 of 2017, Judge Pauley
dismissed the suit. This is precisely the type of use that adds something new, with a further purpose or
different character, altering the first [work] with new expression, meaning, or message, the judge
wrote, quoting U.S. Supreme Court precedent on fair use (Donahue,

Another great thing I learned from the interview is that I was too focused on academics and I must
focus life outside of school more. That s the reason I joined cross country running, and badminton

involved more, makes me happier and healthier. I used to worry constantly about school, because I did
not have a life outside of school and school was everything to me. After I learned this great lesson

Asian American Ethnic Studies Essay
As the immigrant population currently projected to overtake latinxs and hispanics as largest group of
residents in the United States of America, Asian Americans have shown their will to survive in a way
that many groups have not, and that is by banding together in order to achieve the life they deserve.
Taking the overgeneralization of pan ethnicity and using it as a device for increased numbers and
support for the causes of a group of people who otherwise may not have much to do with each other,
is a testament to how vulnerable they must have felt as well as how successful they have managed to
be many aspects of progress. What I have gained from this course is the understanding that at the root
of ethnic studies and the Asian American community is the for us, by us sentiment that contributed to
the blurred lines between the different part of their communities as social, political and cultural,
structures, collectives and groups which came out of an obligation and necessity to protect those
immigrants and their future generations from a country which has always pushed European superiority
in all aspects of society.

Analysis Of The Movie Miss Julie
Creating Reality in Theater Theater was about attracting the middle class crowd to see their play but
also to please the audience. For many years in theater, much of it presented false or unrealistic
concepts. Many authors of playwrights were accustomed to the idea of displaying productions that
were not likely happen in real life. Around the late 19th century, there was a push for creating more of
an authentic and truthful piece of work. Realism was a movement that highlighted the representation
of familiar things in a way that is accurate or true to life (Google). Reality is the state of things as they
actually exist and is the perception of things as they actual exists (Google). In Miss Julie written by
August Strindberg, this play displayed his attempt at representing realism. Creating reality in theater
requires implanting realistic points such as characters, actions, and dialogue that is accurate to real
life. Foremost, characters are a main part of a play. Establishing characters with relatable backgrounds
to people and depth makes the work more believable to the viewer or reader. Miss Julie, who is twenty
five years of age and the main character, she reveals a lot of information about her past. I learnt from
her to mistrust and hate men, for, so far as I could hear, she always hated men and I swore to her that I
would never be a man s slave ( Strindberg 30). The quote gives the reader background information
about her mother s past. Her mother spent her

Zimbardo s Prison Experiment
Adrien Brody (Travis) and Forest Whittaker (Michael) star in The Experiment, a film that features a
group of men who have volunteered and been chosen for a psychological experiment. In the
experiment the 26 men are split up into prison guards and inmates. Travis is selected as a prisoner
while Michael is picked to be a guard. A set of strict rules are put into place and if at any time the rules
are broken the experiment is over and the men will not receive their reward of $14,000 for
participating. As the movie progresses things move rather quickly and as most people would probably
assume, guards begin to feel like they re better than the prisoners and have all of the power. This leads
to the humiliation of the prisoners at the hands of the guards. In the final act Travis leads a ... Show

While attempting to stab Travis, Michael pauses seemingly in awe of what he has become and is
tackled to the ground. At this point the red light that signals the end of the experiment comes on and
the men stop the altercation. They exit the facility and are given their rewards and go home. The film
has a striking resemblance to something called Zimbardo s prison experiment . This experiment, like
the film, involves putting a group of individuals into a scenario in an attempt to evaluate effect of the
prison power structure. While there are differences from the actual experiment and the film, the
general storyline is there. Psychological experiment looking into perceived power, dissent between
guards and prisoners, riot, and an early ending to the experiment are all present in the film just like in
real life. In both instances the result was not as expected. In 1973 Zimbardo s experiment ended after
just 6 days rather than the intended 14. Both show that given certain circumstances individuals will
adapt to roles expected of them socially even to the point of extremism. Yet while this may be true,
there is a point in the film where

Smoking Habits Of The Ohio State University Students Essay
Introduction: According to the Center of Disease Control national survey, smoking habits have
significantly decreased in the United States (CDC). With medical evidence and stricter regulations,
smoking traditional tobacco cigarettes are perceived as a concerning habit. As traditional cigarette
usage declines, the use of electronic cigarettes (e cigarettes) have been a popular alternative,
especially prominent among young adults ages 18 24 years old (CDC). E cigarettes are inhaled in a
liquid vapor form however, like traditional cigarettes, have highly addictive toxins and carcinogens
(Stop Cancer Fund). In relation with national smoking habits of traditional cigarettes and e cigarettes,

the Ohio State University, have implemented tobacco free polices to promote healthier lifestyles for
students, employees and visitors (Tobacco Free OSU). In early 2014, Ohio State issued the tobacco

The 2016 autumn semester was the first time Ohio State implemented required on campus living for
freshmen and sophomore students. Considering that on campus housing follow the tobacco free

Internal Analysis of the Disney Company
Internal Analysis
The financial ratio analysis of a company is a useful indicator to measure the success of a company.
By comparing financial ratios between companies in the same industry (competitors) it is a useful way
for investors and shareholders to determine the financial health and/or the sustainability of a company.
Disney s main competitors within the industry include Time Warner and 21st Century Fox. There are
five key areas of comparison that provide excellent financial analysis of a company. They are short
term solvency, long term solvency, asset management, profitability, and market value.
Liquidity Ratio
The short term solvency ratio is a measurement used to measure how well a company is able to meet
debt obligations. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For 2013 Fox had the highest ROE, which was 35.05. However Disney has been consistent over the
past three years with a ROE around 14, whereas Fox s ROE is much more volatile (jumping up to
35.05 in 2013 from 4.34 in 2012). Disney s ROE is therefore the more reliable and better indicator of
the company s continued growth and profitability.
Market Value Ratio
Market value ratios are probably the most important ratios for any publicly traded company; it s an
indicator of how well the company is perceived as a whole. It reflexes how investors view the future
performance and risks of the company. One such market value ratio that is used commonly is the cash
flow per share ratio. This ratio is measured by taking the operating cash flow preferred dividends
divided by the common shares outstanding. This ratio is more reliable than the EPS or earnings per
share ratio because it is less likely to be manipulated. Because of this the cash flow per share ratio is
judged to be a better indicator of a company s strength and position within the market. For 2013
Disney had the highest cash flow per share ratio amongst its competitors which was valued at 5.29.
This was slightly better than Time Warner s which was 4.04 and was significantly better than Fox s
1.28.
Overall Disney is in a better financial position than its competitors Time Warner and Fox. Disney s
financial ratios have been rising at a pretty consistent rate which shows Disney s stability and

Mcdonald s System By George Ritzer
Reading: The McDonald s System, George Ritzer
Connection #1: Conley and Globalization As Conley discusses, globalization is a multidimensional set
of social practices interact to create and alter worldwide social exchanges and interdependencies
(555). Like McDonaldization, globalization works to change the way society interacts with other
cultures. It allows us to have the same foods in different location and to have foreign cuisine without
actually having to travel. This allows individuals to experience different cultures without actually
having to take a trip that they may not be able to afford. Through globalization and McDonaldization,
the world has become more diverse in some areas and introduced people to topics and cultures that
they once did not understand. Is McDonaldization an independent phenomena or a continuation of
another phenomena or societal change? Does it have synonyms or is it unique? What would society
look like without culture sharing and learning? Is society unique because of culture, or culture ...

Ritzer discusses how the critics of McDonaldization are often overshadowed. His evidence includes
the lack of commercials explaining to people how unhealthy McDonald s is and why one should
refrain from consuming it. As discussed n lecture, there is one group or view that is overshadowing
another. The McDonald s and other positive commercials overshadow the negatives associated with
their products. Some commercials identify the negative side effects quickly, preventing the listener
from hearing them clearly. Should this be morally acceptable? If we are only getting the positive side,
how does one come to the conclusion if something is right or wrong? How can one make a decision
about something without having all the facts? Is society being manipulated by companies selling
unhealthy products? To what extent does one use negatives to impact there

Conflict is everywhere we go, at home, school, church in the community and especially at work. How
we decide to handle the conflict at hand will determine whether we strengthen the relationship or

What Is The Potential Competition In The Condom Industry
Competitor analysis
The online shopping industry faces a high level of competition. Industry players compete in price,
product range, market, scale operation and reputation. The industry is also subject to external
competition from online retailers and traditional bricks and mortar retailers. The main analysis points
of the market competition analysis report of the condom industry include:
1)Competition within the condom industry. There may be several reasons for the intensification of
intra industry competition:
1.First, the industry is growing slowly, and the competition for market share is fierce.
2.Second, the products or services provided by competitors are roughly the same, or there are few
obvious differences.
3.The Third is that some enterprises expand production scale for the benefit of scale economy, the
market equilibrium is broken, the products are overabundant, and enterprises start to resort to the price
reduction.
2)The bargaining power of customers in the condom industry An industry customer may be a
consumer or user of an industry product or a commodity buyer. The industry customer can prompt the
seller to lower the price, improve the product quality or provide better service.
3) The bargaining power of the supplier of the condom industry
Whether the supplier can effectively push the buyer to accept higher price, earlier payment time or
more reliable payment method.
4) Threats to potential competitors in the condom industry

Chadwick s Argumentative Analysis
A little girl is enrolling in kindergarten. She meets all the qualifications necessary for the school,
except for one: she has not received all the required vaccinations. Her parents have heard stories of
children developing autism after receiving the MMR vaccine, and they are not willing to give her
immunizations. These parents are not alone in this fear, though there is no scientific evidence that any
vaccine causes autism. This false idea arose from a study (which was eventually revoked) in The

vaccinations for their children. Although this is a significant increase, there are other reasons that
explain an increase in autistic children. Due to more research in neurological conditions, there was
more information available about autism. Children were often diagnosed as simply mentally retarded

Persuasive Essay On Internet Safety
The three pieces are focused on internet safety and how/ should we make the internet a safer place for
our younger generation. They are all begging the question what is the balance between unnecessary
restriction and the safety of the most venerable members of our society through ideas of internet
addiction suicide and, feelings of fear and despair but to resolve it with solutions The writer of this
article (Stephen Balkan published on Friday the 15th of august 2014) outlines arguments made by
various acclaimed members of society such as the education advisor Anthony smythe. Balkam used

their own lives smythe then goes on to say that we need tighter legislation around the internet. Balkam
furthers this argument with ideas from the non profit FOSI (Family Online Safety Institute) though in
specifying that the institute is non profit the author is saying that this is selfless institute that we

What to Do in Case of a Pandemia
There are many pandemics that could happen to most Americans. Such as Black outs, zombie
apocalypse, government collapse, nuclear fallout etc. if one was to survive the pandemic here are
some skills that might be a necessity. Knowing first aid is a priority. In a situation that calls for first
aid it is important to remember the Three C s Calm Cool and Collected. You must stay calm cool and
collective in order to not escalate you hart rate making you bleed more or spread poisoning faster than
normal. Even though one is calm cool and collective one still must move at a fast pace in order to
address the problem at hand. In a survival situation a person should not take any risk that is not
necessary or helpful to his well being. If it is a large epidemic one should look for survivors around
him for help. Even though one might want to survive on his own it is better to survive as a unit, and it
will be more productive than doing it on his own[Dual Survival]. If one is assessing others around he
should ask what they are feeling then checks his breathing, and look for any visible wounds on the
body. If there are wounds on the body apply pressure with a shirt or gauze if available, apply the
material available till the bleeding is no longer visible. If the persons leg is broken or fractured, one
can use a branch to stabilize and create a make shift cast in a survival situation [the complete sas

  • 3. Sylvia Plath Daddy Relationships can be hard to manage, especially when it comes to family. The poem Daddy by Sylvia Plath is about a cynical father who died and left his daughter a wreck. Although the father was a bad man, his daughter thought the world of him. The speaker of the poem hates her father because she wants to be like him even though he was not a good man. At a few different places throughout the poem, the speaker states that her father was anything but a good man. She describes a photo she has of him in front of a blackboard with, A cleft in your chin instead of your foot/But no less a devil for that, no not (53 54) which implies that her father had a cleft, much like the cleft foot the devil is commonly pictured with, and it didn t make him any less of a devil due to its improper location. ... The end of that line sounds like the narrator could be sarcastic, as if her father never had time to listen to her. She talks about how her father broke her heart with all the evil he did, which could have taken time away from her. He died when she was ten, and at age 20 she tried to commit suicide because she wanted to be close to him again that even being in the same coffin would suffice (60 65). The closest she could be to her father alive was by marrying a man who embodies her father, particularly his dark side since it seemed to be all she knew. And she finds a man just so, A man in black with a Meinkampf look/And a love of the rack and the screw (65 66). She chooses her husband even though he was bad to make up for lost time; she was young when her father died and didn t get a chance to be with him as long as she ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Harriet Jacobs, whom herself tells the story of the misfortunes she went through. Harriet Jacobs talks about her friends and writes, They measure a man s worth by his character, not by his complexion. Prior to the Depression hit, the government did close to nothing or nothing at all to assistance individuals monetarily. This was not seen as something the administration should do. With the Depression came an adjustment in this discernment. President Roosevelt s New Deal made government in charge of peopling from numerous points of view. These courses run from ensuring that they would not lose cash they had stored in banks (FDIC) to guaranteeing that they would have cash to live on after they resigned (Social Security). The stance now taken upon an action for negligence is that it must be established that a duty of care is owed by the defender to the pursuer in order for liability to arise. This came about following the decision made by Lord Atkin in the case of Donoghue v Stevenson, and has been further developed in a number of other common law examples. Prior to this revolutionary judgement, there was a quantitative restriction as to where a duty of care would arise, primarily only in relationships of a particular nature i.e. a doctor and their patient. It is however worth noting that it can become too predictable at times, as in many cases the neighbour principle will be somewhat perfectly fitting. Is it just as simple as establishing that there is even just an ounce of proximity there and hence creating that duty of care? There has been some degree of scepticism and so this brings us to Lord Wilberforce as he attempted to re formulate the neighbour principle in the case of Anns v Merton London Borough ... • 12. Taking a Look at Four-Dimensionalism Four dimensionalism is often seen in the field of metaphysics as a strong and sound solution to many puzzles. Whether that s the Antinomy of Constitution, the Ship of Theseus, or the Paradox of Increase, four dimensionalism always appears as a probable solution. But, four dimensionalism is not the all powerful solution it appears to be at first glance. The theory itself has many repercussions if it is taken to be true, leading me to dispute its overall validity. So what exactly is the four dimensional theory? To begin, we must understand what the dimensions of our world are. We experience the first three dimensions on a daily basis; namely, length, width, and height. These three dimensions are typically referred to as the spatial dimensions. The next, fourth, dimension is then considered to be time. We cannot specifically see time but we know that time is continually moving forward and we are subject to its progression. Four dimensionalism then exclaims that objects consist of all four dimensions, splitting objects into spatial and temporal parts. We see the spatial components when we look at an object but the temporal component is harder to see. Essentially, the four dimensionalist believes that an object is never wholly present at one instance in time but rather consists of the spatial components and all of the temporal components. This is seen as the theory of perdurance and is accepted by four dimensionalists (Lewis). So when we hold an object, say a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The fall of the Romanovs can be put down to a number of factors, one of them being the influence Tsarina Alexandra had on Tsar Nicholas II. Due to her close relationship with the Tsar she was able to influence and manipulate him in a number of ways and convinced him to hold on to his autocratic power no matter what. As a result of her intervention she can be seen as a significant figure in the fall of the autocratic system. Her significance can be measured by a number of factors such as her relationship with the Tsar and the influence she had over him, her relationship with the Russian people as a result of her German roots, and finally her relationship with the monk Rasputin and the influence he had over both the Tsarina and the Tsar. This belief led her to encourage him to ignore many people who could have potentially helped preserve the autocratic system by helping the Tsar make sensible decisions regarding the situation at hand. The fact that the Tsarina assumed an active political role later on and would often let Rasputin to get involved was a major factor in bringing about the fall of the Romanovs. She was unpopular as it was, but by attempting to make such big decisions without the advice of the Duma, she was in fact destroying the autocratic system rather than saving it as she thought she was doing. One of the most important positions in baseball is the pitcher, but changing the pitcher for every batter or multiple times in one should be limited to two per inning. Nothing has done more to slow the pace of game than the over reliance on relievers, especially in the late innings(Klapisch). The Grandmother presents herself as a lady who wears white cotton gloves , a navy blue straw sailor hat with a bunch of white violets in the brim and a matching dress (O Connor 130). This lady is quite self centered, manipulative, and proud; she is constantly persuading her family to make them do what she wants. For example, after the Grandmother has convinced them to take the dirt road, and she realizes that the house they are looking for is not in Georgia, but in Tennessee, the Grandmother stays silent to avoid the embarrassment. However, the most distinctive aspect of the Grandmother s personality is her sense of Utopia. She is constantly recoiling better times which she associates with the Old South of Gone with the Wind, when there were no paved roads (135), and more importantly, when good men were easy to find. There also traces of what Lipset calls morality plays in the Grandmother; at the beginning of the story, the Grandmother does not want to go to Florida because she wouldn t take [her] children in any direction with a criminal like that aloose in it. She meets all the qualifications necessary for the school, except for one: she has not received all the required vaccinations. Her parents have heard stories of children developing autism after receiving the MMR vaccine, and they are not willing to give her immunizations. These parents are not alone in this fear, though there is no scientific evidence that any vaccine causes autism.
