Essay On Foley Catheter Care
Foley Catheter Care, Adult
A Foley catheter is a soft, flexible tube that is placed into the bladder to drain urine. For as long as
your catheter is in place, you will need to:
Care for the skin around your catheter.
Empty, change, and clean drainage bags.
Check on your catheter throughout the day to make sure it is working properly and the tubing is not
twisted or curled.
Taking good care of your catheter will keep it working properly and prevent infections and other
problems from developing.
HOW TO CARE FOR THE SKIN AROUND YOUR CATHETER
It is important to take good care of your skin when you have a catheter in place. To do this:
Clean the skin around the catheter at least once every day.

A clean towel.
Adhesive tape or a leg strap.
Steps
Wash your hands with soap and water.
Wet a washcloth in warm water and mild soap.
Wipe the skin around where the catheter was put in with the washcloth. Wipe away from the catheter
in small circles. Do not wipe toward the catheter because this can push bacteria into the urethra and
cause infection.
Pat the area dry with a clean towel. Make sure to remove all traces of soap.
Attach the catheter to your leg with adhesive tape or a leg strap, making sure there is no tension on the
catheter. If you are using adhesive tape, first remove any sticky residue left behind by the previous
tape you used.
Place the drainage bag below the level of your bladder, but keep it off the floor.
HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR DRAINAGE BAGS
You should have received a large overnight drainage bag and a smaller leg bag that fits underneath
clothing. You may wear the overnight bag at any time, but you should never wear the smaller leg bag
at night. Empty your drainage bag when it is ⅓ ½ full or at least 2 3 times a day. Change your
drainage bag once a month or sooner if it starts to smell bad or look dirty.

A Brief Note On Ford s Autonomous Car
Ford s Autonomous Car Most of the automotive companies believe that the next generation of cars are
going to be autonomous vehicles, but not all of them have the same opinion about it. Some companies
want to bring a fully autonomous car to reality, which wouldn t need any human interaction to drive
the car, while other ones are interested in driverless cars, which need humans to drive them. Both
autonomous and driverless concepts give cars more control over themselves, and both aim to give
more comfort for mankind, thus providing an easier life for drivers and passengers, but the idea of an
autonomous car on the roads raises some questions about the safety of it and the responsibility over a
car like this. A driverless car can have most of the autonomous features, it just needs someone to drive
it, and then the control would also be from a person that would be more watchful and take
responsibilities over the car. Ford is going to launch an autonomous car. The company already has a
semi autonomous one in market, the Fusion hybrid, and they say that the car is automated, but by
automated they mean that it is capable of automated operation under the supervision of a human
driver. Ford already have one step in automated driving, and in five years they are going to bring two
new innovative features that are going to be essential for self driving cars; one is the fully automated
parking that allows the vehicle to park itself with no help from the driver, the driver just have

Athletes Stand As Role Models, Like It Or Not
Joe Black is writer for The Daily Times. In Athletes Stand As Role Models, Like It Or Not Black
sheds light on the tendency of star athletes to shape society s perception of right and wrong, and
criticizes athletes for not promoting moral conduct. He argues that young folk are highly
impressionable and that the influential nature of being a professional athlete obligates sportspeople to
uphold a higher level of moral integrity than members of the general public (par. 3). According to
Black, by putting sportspeople in a position to directly influence the ideology of fans, the media has
inadvertently designated professional athletes as role models. As a result, he argues that athletes have
a social obligation to conduct themselves in a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Nonetheless, this in no way obligates sportspeople to maintain an ethical lifestyle outside of sports.
Just because athletes are promoted on television and media for their prowess in tackling or scoring
touchdowns, doesn t mean that people should rely on them to establish their moral constructs. In other
words, it is impractical to think that someone who excels at playing a sport automatically possesses
the values and character required to positively mold the ideology of others. Yet, this is exactly the
argument that Black attempts to make. By depicting professional athletes as role models, Black makes
the inference that playing a sport is in some way virtuous. This post hoc ergo propter hoc
argumentation is flawed because it promotes the idea that being a proficient athlete somehow qualifies
someone as righteous. However, athletic ability in no way translates to the quality of an individual s
value system. To highlight this issue, one can focus on the case of Tiger Woods, a professional golfer
who was heavily criticized in 2009 when it became public that he had an affair (Falzone par. 4).
Although Woods is considered to be one of the most talented golfers of al time, he leaves much to be
desired in terms of character (Falzone par. 4). Consequently, it is unfair to discriminate against
professional athletes, and to generalize their occupation as noble. In sports, just like in any other
profession, there are individuals who deserve to be role models and those who do

Scarecrow The Wizard Of Oz
Scarecrow, who is one of the supporting characters in the novel, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, by L.
Frank Baum, has always wanted to have brains. Dorothy the main character and Toto find Scarecrow
on a pole in the middle of the corn field after she left Boq s house. After walking for a little while, the
Scarecrow told Dorothy about how he was made. He told Dorothy how a munchkin made him, and
how he can t even do his job since he is only made out of straws, and any crow, who has sense know
that he is only made out of straw and wasn t a man. The Scarecrow has always wanted some brains

The Tin Woodman wanted a heart while the Cowardly Lion wanted some courage. While they were
going to the City of Emeralds, where the great Oz lived, they faced many challenges. Most of the
irony, which means language that normally signifies the opposite, in the book comes from the way
they solve each challenge. Scarecrow, who is made of straw and has no brains, comes up with the
most intelligent solutions to their problems. While they were walking, they come across a ditch and no
one knows how to cross it, but the Scarecrow says to the Lion, he should jump over it while carrying
us on his back. Later, they come across a gulf that was deeper and wider than the Cowardly Lion can
jump. So after seriously thinking for awhile, the Scarecrow sees a great tree and says to his friends,
Here is a great tree, standing close to the ditch. If the Tin Woodman can chop it down, so that it will
fall to the other side, we can walk across it easily. (Baum 41). That is a first rate idea, said the Lion.
One would almost suspect you had brains in your head, instead of straw. (Baum 41). In this situation
Scarecrow showed irony because people would expect someone with brains would find a solution,
instead of a person without

To What Extent Do You Predict That The Boiling Point Of...
Making Soap: Lab
1. A saponification reaction is considered to be the reverse of an esterification reaction because in an
esterification, a carboxylic acid is combined with an alcohol to produce an ester and water; and in a
saponification, an ester is combined with lye (Na+ + OH ) to produce the salt of a carboxylic acid and
an alcohol. Essentially, the products and reactants are opposites of each other in either reaction.
2. The functional groups in glycerol are hydroxyl groups (OH). It belongs to the alcohol family and,
due to its three hydroxyl groups, it is polar with a high bp/mp/H2O sol.
3. I predict that the boiling point of glycerol will be higher than that of ethanol because ethanol only
has one hydroxyl group and glycerol has three. Glycerol s three hydroxyl groups make it more polar
than ethanol (larger polar region compared to its non polar region); and therefore, it requires more
energy to break its bonds.
4. I predict that glycerol is soluble in polar solvents because it is highly polar itself, and polar
substances ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

a low polarity, and like dissolves like .

12. This procedure for making soap was relatively successful. While we followed all of the steps as
accurately as possible, it proved difficult to get all measurements entirely exact (ie. residual
oil/glycerol was left behind during the transfer to beaker B). To test our soap s lather ability, we filled
a clean 250 mL beaker with water from the tap and placed our soap bar into it. We agitated the
contents until a decent bit of soapsuds formed; however, we determined that our soap was basic, as

Dbq Essay On Roman Culture
The United States has adopted parts of Ancient Roman culture into modern day life. Over time Rome
became the superpower of the Mediterranean controlling a vast amount of city states. Power from
trade, innovative minds, a powerful military, and influence from other cultures combined to make
Rome one of the most powerful regions of the time period. The United States has taken some aspects
of Rome s culture and has incorporated it into society making both regions similar. Roman culture was
like our own culture in the United States today because of the system of government, the use of
sporting events to escape the affairs of daily life and the funeral inscriptions on grave markers.
The United States government and the government of the Roman Republic are similar because of
checks and balances and the structure. The three branches of the United States government are

Roman grave markers, while much simpler than grave markers that are used today, still consisted of
inscriptions to commemorate the person who passed. In the example of document four, the funeral
inscription on the gravestone read, To the gods of the [afterworld] ,To Julia Chrestes Junius Phoebion
for his wife well deserving it he made it. The Romans wrote inscriptions on the grave markers to tell a
little about the person s life and to honor them for the life they lived. Many people of the United States
adopted this same tradition in order to honor their dead. Grave markers now a days have evolved to
include the date of the person s birth and death, their full name, and a short note about their life. Like
the Romans, modern day citizens put the gravestones up in memory of the people in their lives who
have passed away. Years may have passed, but the tradition the Romans exhibited of honoring the
dead remains a prominent feature of the United States

Alexander The Great Royal Tapestry
For my museum experience I went to the Getty in Los Angeles. I ended up going around noon this
past Sunday on April 10th because of my awesome time management skills (I m a huge
procrastinator). I was supposed to go with Katie, Sachy, and Victoria as a group, but they re fake so
we all ended up going at different times.Victoria and Sachy had already gone to a museum over spring
break so Katie and I were going to go to the Getty together but that ended up not happening because
her mom is also fake so I went by myself; she ended up going to the LACMA that day. Oh and I saw
on snapchat that Luis, the class overachiever, was at the Getty but I was too busy being a huge nerd
and looking at all the touristy sites, so we didn t get to meet up. I ... Show more content on

The heavy usage of gold around the frame is used to make Alexander the Great seem even more noble
than he already is. The usage of gold on the frame like device also gives this painting a more
sophisticated look. Equally important, like I touched on earlier, the position of the human figures in
this painting also play an important role in making this historical event biased. The human bodies are
clustered and below Alexander the Great s eye level to show dominance and authority. The Getty also
mentions that the text near the bottom of the painting in the cartouche translates to It is for a king to
vanquish himself which includes King Louis XIV. Other hidden symbols that reference King Louis
XIV are the Latin motto of King Louis XIV in the side and top borders which translate to Not Unequal
to many [tasks] (The Getty) and the crossed L s at the top to represent King Louis XIV symbol. This
demonstrates the artist s bias towards representing this historical

The Global Environment, Differentiation, Low Cost...
In today`s global environment, differentiation, low cost leadership, and responsiveness are among
three major characteristics of an organisation that aims to achieve a competitive advantage over its
competitors. Organisations also endeavour to reduce lead time and their direct and indirect costs,
increase return on investment as well as customer satisfaction, improve quality and reliability of their
products. However they also need to consider social, environmental and ethical concerns and establish
a company mission and vision in such a way that mitigate these concerns while achieving a
competitive advantage.
Strategies through achieving a competitive advantage resulted in the existence of the terms
`Globalisation` and supply chain management (SCM). Because in today`s emerging and industrialized
environment companies seek to achieve competitive advantages and are no longer competing with
their own expertise but with the talent in their entire global supply chain. [1]
Another reason why the importance of SCM has been highlighted is that most of the companies need
other manufacturers or companies from which they can supply raw materials, sub assemblies and
components, finished goods, or equipment in order to keep their production in working order, achieve
their business objectives and goals and customer satisfaction, and meet customers` rapidly changing
requirements at right time, cost and quality. In such circumstances, the commercial distance in the

The Bubonic Plague
The Black Death and the World After It
The Bubonic Plague, often acknowledged as the worst epidemic in the history of Europe, also known
as the Black Death, the Black Plague, and the Pestilence, the worst time was 1348 1350. By the end of
1350, according to Zarlengo, almost three fourths of the population had been decimated. Today the
Pestilence has an antibiotic cure and since rats and fleas are kept at a low and are not shipped from
one place to another, we have less of a chance of getting it again. However, at that point there was no
cure and people died by the hundreds.

Some people, especially the religious, clung more fiercely to their beliefs. The Church was the one
thing that would not pass away or fall to shambles. Humans are wont to cling to a constant in times of
trouble and the Church proved to be the rock in the river.
While the Black Death had many adverse effects, there were good ones too. Since there were fewer
peasants to work, they could demand higher wages, they could even move up classes. The serf system
was collapsing from all the deaths. Nobody could stop serfs from up and leaving. As independence
spread, so did law breaking. People would enter the dead s homes and steal or stay in the house.
Criminals would rape, steal, and kill on the streets and nobody would stop them. These felons would
justify their actions by claiming it was the end of the world or that nobody cared.
There were very little respect for the dead. The few left to bury the dead dumped the bodies in mass
graves, in the rivers, and burned them in great piles. Proper burial rites could not be done for hundreds
at a time. Most graves were more like lasagnas since people and dirt were just layered. Rivers were
clogged with the dead and there were huge piles of ashes. What was the point in burying each body
individually? It was hard enough as it was to get enough space to make mass

Activity-based costing in restaurants
Activity based costing in restaurants
1. Introduction
Interest in cost and management accounting practices in the restaurant industry is rising (Raab et al.,
2009; Annaraud et al., 2008). Pavesic (1985) has initiated research in pricing and cost accounting for
restaurants, introducing the concept of profit factor
(PF) in menu engineering (ME). Prior studies, such as the one presented in Chan and
Au (1998) investigate the implications of not incorporating overhead costs in menu item profitability
analyses in restaurants in Hong Kong. Since then, a number of researchers have examined the
application of contemporary cost and management accounting techniques, and particularly activity
based costing (ABC) in a restaurant
environment ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To this end Kaplan and Cooper (1998) suggest that service companies are ideal candidates for ABC.
One reason for this is that in the services industry a great percentage of total cost is labour cost and
processes are highly variant (Kostakis et al.,
2008). Studies have shown the possible use and potential benefits of ABC in the hotel industry
(Kostakis et al., 2011; Berts and Kock, 1995; Noone and Griffin, 1999).
New techniques assisting large scale ABC implementation have also been developed in recent years
(Kaplan and Anderson, 2004).
The restaurant industry is facing great challenges today, mainly due to the highly competitive
environment and the diverse needs of the customers. Restaurants have to achieve a balance between
serving these needs, and pricing their menu items to achieve adequate profitability levels (Raab et al.,
2009).Traditional costing systemsand simplistic pricing approaches were very popular within the
restaurant industry. Overhead cost and operating expenses were usually excluded and prices were a
function of food cost, as well as customer demand, historical prices and other factors. This method has
the evident disadvantage of leading to misleading information about individual menu items.

Analysis Of The Movie Truman Show
What would you feel like if you found out that your whole life was fake and it was all for television?
The Truman Show is a film where a man for his whole life has been filmed for the entertainment of
others and doesn t even realize that he is on camera at all times. There are a few scenes that will be
discussed whether the scene is able to provide a religious experience.
The Truman Show is about a man named Truman Burbank. Before he was even born a large
corporation adopted him to use as the main character for their television show. Throughout the movie,
Truman slowly starts to notice that things seem a little odd and that the world around him doesn t
make sense. By the end of the movie, he knows that his life is fake even though no one told him at the
time that his world is fake.
The first scene that we will be looking at is the very first scene of the movie. In the scene we see a
man talking to us. He is the director of The Truman Show, he talks about how while the world around
Truman is fake Truman s emotions are real and genuine and that nothing about Truman is fake in any
way. Since the director created and runs the television show he can be seen as the holy or divine
because he created this world and can control every aspect of it. This scene asks the questions is there
a higher being. The director can be seen as a godly figure because he controls the environment and the
actions of everyone around Truman. Since everyone are actors on a tv show then that means that all

Media Controls Your Mind
Media has an affect on the popular culture more than most people think. It is simply everywhere you
go and unavoidable. So either way you look at it, the mass media occurs in a person s life on a daily
basis. Which has a severe effect on the choices you make and the morals you live by. One cannot trust
everything they see on TV either. Most commercials you would see today are overly exaggerated just
to persuade consumers into buying the product. For example, in the 1930 s America s first drug czar
Harry J. Anslinger, began one of the world s greatest public relations campaigns just to demoralize
marijuana by telling apparent lies to society and persuading them to believe it. Such as that marijuana
is more harmful to the body than ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Using the devil s image to promote anti marijuana beliefs in a mostly Christian denominated country,
it is bound to turn heads and make people question it. With all this being said, choosing one side is
mainly based on you and your families morals and what you believe in. But we can all agree that the
media should have the obligation in to telling us truthful information and not far fetched claims.
Living in the 1930 s, television was very new, and people that actually owned a television set believed
almost everything they saw on it. So whatever the advertisements were promoting, it could easily
persuade someone into believing their claim. The lack of technology that society had at the time made
people a lot more gullible then today. Maybe the mass media did not realize that what is shown to the
popular culture on a daily basis could be so influential no matter how untruthful the advertisements
might be. It is not fair for the government to know more information than society. So to be able to
instill truthfulness the mass media cannot promote exaggerated claims like the one I mentioned earlier.
Once an advertisement is out there, there is no getting it back. The media should be responsible for
promoting truthful claims to society so that we

The Giver Response
Before I give my response on how I liked The Giver, I would like to give a quick summary over The
Giver. The Giver is about a Eleven year old boy named Jonas who lives in a Community that is
isolated from almost everything. Everyone in the Community is assigned a certain role to do. At the 12
years old Ceremony, they are assigned to the job that they will do for the rest of their life. When the
day finally comes for all of the Elevens to become a Twelve and to be assigned their job, Jonas is
assigned a job that not many people get, the next Receiver of Memory. It is a scary job, and his
training involves pain, and exposure to things he never has heard of or seen. For instance some of the
memories the Giver transfers over to Jonas are snow, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The way it describes the way he felt when he first experienced color. It kind of in a way was like a
blind person seeing for the first time; speechless and in awe of everything that they are taking in. I
really liked the way that Jonas felt frustrated that others couldn t truly know the beauty of color and
that he wanted to tell them but he know that he couldn t tell anyone. Even though Jonas saw all of this
beauty, he also saw tragedy. In one of the memories that the Giver gives to Jonas is the memory of war
and battle and everything that goes on during war. Jonas saw people dying and shooting at each other
in hate and saw all of the explosions that caused fires and everything was hectic. Jonas did not like
that memory at all because he had never heard of or experienced such a tragedy and hardship before
because of the Community. The Community kept every type of feeling there was away from everyone,
the good and the bad. Although some people may think that it is good to take away all of the bad
memories, I don t think so because if taking away all of the bad memories means taking away the
good memories too then I ll take bad memories along with the good ones because the good memories
are things that no one should ever want to forget because they are key moments too when they were

The Drover Wife And The Chosen Vessel By Barbara Baynton
Throughout history, Australian has always been perceived as a land of men. This is due to the
colonization of Australian during the eighteen and nineteen century, where men are seen inferior to
women. They also are domesticated within the house duties that the society has influence because of
their gender. Although, Henry Lawson the drover wife and The Chosen Vessel by Barbara Baynton
challenges the Australian society through Australian literature by placing women in harsh
environments. The drover wife is short stories about women who face the new obsolesce while living
within the harsh environments. The Chosen Vessel has a similar aspect of the drover wife but the lead
female experience the harness of the environment, which lead to her death. Both women display their
own straights and heroics while facing their fears, through their selfless action. They are both
portrayed of women of the bush but their fate had stored different outcome for both women. This
essay will examine both the drover wife and the chosen vessel both contain a simple plot, but it
expands on many issues of gender expectation and domesticated within the household role of the
expectation of women. It will also examine the religious aspect of the historical narrative that has been
seen within both bush stories.

wasp gives off a loud buzzing noise as it flaps its wings. Larger species such as the German wasp and
Hornet produce a lower pitch than smaller varieties such as the Norwegian wasp. The Nesting Habits
of a Wasp The Queen wasps will come out of hibernation and look for a nesting location at the start of

Contrary to the claims of the gun lobby, CCW laws do not decrease crime. In fact, these laws may

Our Nig By Harriet Wilson
Harriet Wilson s novel Our Nig, follows the life of Frado, a young mulatto girl in the household of a
white family in New England. She is abandoned to this family at the age of six because her mother
could not afford to care for her and resented her and the hardships to which her birth had contributed.
The mistress of the household to which Frado is left is a cruel and spiteful woman, especially towards
blacks. When Frado is left in the care of the Bellmont residence as a young girl, she has no idea of the
troubles she would have to face for most of her life. From the very beginning, neither Mrs. Bellmont,
the main antagonist, nor her equally cruel daughter, Mary, show any hint of compassion or even mercy
for the young girl. The story follows Frado and her life in the Bellmont household.
Mr. Bellmont s attitude towards Frado is not completely out of pure cruelty, in my opinion most of it is
influenced from the economical context in the nineteenth century of America. After all in the post
slavery period of north America, economics was, First and last, of crucial significance. After the
abolishment of slavery in the North blacks were forced back into being subservient into technically
free labor, Because they were given food and shelter. The context of this paragraph shows signs of this
theme, like the conversation between Mr.Bellmont and Mrs.Bellmont : I ll beat the money out of her,
if I can t get her worth any other way, retorted Mrs. B. sharply. (Willson 90).

Pierre Simon Laplace s Theory Of Determinism
Pierre Simon Laplace was a famous scientist born on March 23, 1749, in Normandy, France. He went
through schooling and later enrolled at Caen University at the age of sixteen to study theology. His
father had an expectation for him to have a career in the church, in those times when people attended
the school Laplace attended, their usual job destinations were the church or army. Laplace went into
neither of those, even those he was studying theology. While at the school he discovered his love for
mathematics and discovered he had a talent in that field. Laplace made numerous contributions
through his work. Besides his work on mathematical astronomy, he also studied planetary orbits.
Laplace is famous for his discovery of what is famously known as Laplace s Demon, which is not an
actual demon. Laplace s Demon was first known as Laplace s Intellect. His thought experiment was
first discovered by him in 1814, which made it the first published work of determinism. Laplace s
Demon, is basically the idea of determinism. His other works, although should still not go unnoticed,
he had a great influence on the progress of the mathematical theory of mechanics, also the Laplace
Operator in potential theory, and the Laplace Transform in the study of differential equations. Laplace
believed that with his discovery, you could measure an atoms velocity and location. Basically, what it
means for his experiment is that if you can calculate those things, you can predict all future

Manliness Wins Wars
Well, Manliness Wins Wars* or Who Needs These Heroes?*
Introduction
Acknowledging the interconnectedness of gender and warfare is unavoidable in contemporary
literature on the subject. War s ability to enhance men s authority and magnify the distance between
femininity and masculinity (Cockburn 2010, pg. 144) has lead to the prominence of the subject in
contemporary feminist studies. Understandably the majority of recent literature has been directed
towards war s impact on women and the feminine . This limitation, however, fails to take into account
the way in which men and their interests, their notions of manliness, and masculine micro and macro
cultures (Nagel 2006, pg. 243) impacts on politics and war. If we accept that nations and ... Show

I attempt to look at the concept of heroism and how it was interwoven with the development of
American nationalism through the rhetoric of George W. Bush following the attacks of 9/11. I also
contrast the rhetoric of Jacques Chirac following 9/11 and that of François Hollande following the
recent attacks in Paris. These would suggest, I argue, that when faced when with immediate and
confronting violence hegemonic masculinity is used to legitimise violent international relations (or
war). If correct, this perhaps provides an insight into how societies could seek to organise their affairs
in a manner that would strive to avoid warfare altogether.
What is gender and masculinity?
I note here that when considering gender this essay accepts the notion put forward by Cohn that it is
necessary to focus on gendered discourses, rather than gendered individuals (Cohn 1993, pg. 228). In
other words rather than only looking at words and language it will consider
a system of meanings, of ways of thinking, images and words that first shape how we experience,
understand, and represent ourselves as men and women, but that also do more than that; they shape
many other aspects of our lives and culture (Cohn 1993, pg. 228).
It is to be understood as a set of variable, but socially and culturally constructed relational
characteristics that determine how we experience and understand ourselves as men and women, but
that also interweaves with other discourses and shapes them (Brunner 2008, pg.

as the one girl revolution . Though Margaret Sanger s revolution may be even more controversial now
than during her 50 year career of national and international battles, her opinions can teach us many
lessons. Due to her strong influence in history, our society has increased health awareness for women,
made sexual protection a choice for all people, and also introduced family modification as a choice for
mankind.
Having gone through the hardships that she did, Margaret Sanger developed her own theories and

In addition to the articles she composed, Margaret Sanger decided to make sexual protection an option
for all people. Previously, contraceptives and spermicides were only distributed to those who had
information on the matter and access to them (Margaret 1). Sanger was past 80 when she saw the first
marketing of a contraceptive pill, which she had helped develop, although legal change was slow. It
took until 1965, a year before her death, for the Supreme Court to approve the use of contraception,
but Sanger had accomplished a goal (Margaret 1). Now, contraceptives were available to all women,
in all walks of life, regardless of their financial situations. In her mind, poor mental development was
largely the result of poverty, overpopulation and the lack of attention to children. This was definitely
one of the reasons why Sanger desired to make protection available to lower class citizens, along with
the wealthy.
Although she had met her goal of legalizing birth control, Margaret Sanger still desired to assist
women who were already pregnant but didn t wish to keep the child. After returning from a national
tour in 1916, Sanger opened the nation s first birth control clinic in Brownsville, Brooklyn (Katz 1).
This, however, was a minor advancement considering that the clinic was raided in its first nine days of
operation and she was taken to prison. The

Value Of Sacrifice Research Paper
The word sacrifice means that something is given up in order to benefit another person. Sacrifices are
placed into categories based upon what is being given up in order to benefit someone else. There can
be political, personal, and in this piece of literature, religious sacrifices. Therefore, I will be discussing
the vital values of sacrifices established in bible stories along with when they are to be taken place.
As mentioned previously, sacrifices can vary in types such as personal, political, and religious. A
personal sacrifice comes from within someone such as a someone giving up a get together with friends
to help their mom around the house or helping out a friend study for future exams instead of going to
the movies. Next are political sacrifices which are all about political events, obviously, and it all can

Aristotle And Utilitarianism
Utilitarianism is the idea that best moral path possible at all times is one that benefits the greatest
amount of people. In other words, Utilitarianism operates under the doctrine that supports the greater
good and maximizes happiness. It does not require or virtuous figure to follow, for it based purely
upon reducing human suffering. It is sometimes called consequentialism because it is based on the
idea that the best action is what produces the best consequences. They reduce suffering. you can have
different actions that lead to good outcomes and they can all be good.
Aristotle came up with the virtue theory. The virtue theory, on the other hand, states that an action is
moral if it is what virtuous being would do. In this way, less emphasis is placed upon specific rules or
laws that clearly define moral actions, and more is placed on what constitutes a good person. Although
there is not a clear line in the virtue theory of what is rational and what is not, it is `often up to
common sense to determine what is an admirable trait and what is not. A virtuous person does not let
their emotions control them and inhibit them from doing what they know to be right. This part is
important: their heart must be in the right place at all times. there should be no difference between
what they should do and what they want to do. Examining right is wrong in terms of the virtue theory
is often very cumulative in the sense that an individual action is judged based on whether or not it
contributes to overall mortality. actions in general arent really the main focus. actions are a

and his advisers have met in one, of many cool, damp secret chambers beneath the Citadel of Splendor
to discuss the growing problems with lawless merchants outside Kelmoor Keep. For far too long the
wily merchants from Verktus and Westgate have plundered the small independent cities, towns, and

of writing down real names, he gave everything a nickname. Therefore, if someone was able to read or

In 21st century North America, there is a strange, seemingly unanimous idea that, to fit the norm, one

The main theme of King Without a Crown is that, in order to truly worship God, people need to leave
their egos on the wayside and realize there is something better in life that can only be found with God.
While Jesus Walks was more of a persuasive song, attempting to turn atheists into Christians, this is
not seen in King Without a Crown. Matisyahu is only praising God; he says, without [God] there s no
me, you re the air that I breathe, for example. Matisyahu describes his relationship with God as one
that is like the relationship one has with food, for nourishment. He also says that he no longer has the
need for drugs, sinesemilla, for it would only bring [him] down. The most notable portion of the music
video is at the very end; Matisyahu is walking down a street and, as he turns around a corner, meets a
boy. Matisyahu touches the boy on the shoulder and, it is as though the boy has reached a sort of
enlightenment. This is symbolized by the immortalization of the boy s portrait on the high, wooden
fence behind them, which had previously shown a video of Matisyahu performing the song. Finally is
Lupe Fiasco s Muhammad Walks, which is a direct sample of Jesus Walks. Everything is the same
minus the lyrics, which are rapped by Lupe and is about Islam and its prophets comparable to Jesus

questions grow more specific and complex, Mayella has a difficult time answering and struggles with

evidence regarding the charge of Tom Robinson. Mayella is claimed to be a victim of the sexual

The fact that she began to cry due to fear towards Atticus demonstrates that she has something to hide

Cadmium Essay
Cadmium is present on earth crust as heavy metal and its exposure in environment is very big
challenge to environmentalist because cadmium is non degradable in nature. In environment cadmium
transfers from one trophic level to another and finally accumulated in human with toxic effects. There
is an emergent need to remove the cadmium from environment. Microbes are very helpful in this area
to remediate the cadmium from environment. Microorganisms used biotransformation and adsorption
mechanisms for regulation of translocation of heavy metals. In present time many research have been
done on the toxicity of cadmium in microorganisms. Microorganisms release many types of organic
and inorganic substances by which they can detoxify the cadmium. Such character of microorganisms
is regulated by genes organized at operons and heavy metal resistance genes mostly present on
plasmids. Out of several mechanisms active export is the main mechanisms in cadmium tolerant
bacteria. Several metal specific sensor strains have been formed and applied in many laboratories.
PGPR (plant growth promoting rhizobacteria) are particularly important for enhancing plant growth in

unknown underdogs like Butler University, Wichita State University, and Virginia Commonwealth
University as they all compete in titanic battles. Everyone from retirees to college students fill out
fantasy brackets yearly in volumes reaching millions, praying to have that lucky year where they
predict the tournament correctly. However, on the female side of the sport, audiences are ... Show

Sociology professor Michael Messner of the University of Southern California explains that the media
actively constructs audiences that are likely to see the men s Final Four as a dramatic, historic event
that they simply must watch, while fans are likely to see the women s Final Four as a nonevent or, at
best, as just another game of the Men s Final Four (Messner). Messner emphasizes the differences in
language, attention, and emotion in media coverage as the sources of different representations and
viewership. Professor Messner is not the only expert to contend that purposeful sexism and subtle
contrast in media representation are the causes of the inequality in coverage. Others assert that we
need more women on television, in the news, and in front of our young girls, arguing purposeful
disinterest in gender equality is the reason for lack of viewership in women s basketball

Serena Williams, The French Open Final Saturday Essay
Serena Williams lost the French Open final Saturday to Garbine Muguruza. It marked her third failed
attempt to win a 22nd singles Grand Slam title, which would tie the Open era record set by Steffi Graf.
Williams was extremely gracious in defeat as she addressed the crowd at Roland Garros in French.
The tennis icon can afford to be gracious these days: She earned $28.9 million over the past 12
months. That makes her the world s highest paid female athlete over that span, unseating Maria
Sharapova, who had held the title the past 11 years.
US player Serena Williams returns the ball to Netherlands Kiki Bertens during their women s semi
final match at the Roland Garros 2016 French Tennis Open in Paris on June 3, 2016.
A drug suspension dinged Sharapova s earnings, but Williams was likely to grab the title of top paid
female athlete even with Sharapova not sidelined. Williams, 34, has dominated her sport for a decade
and a half. She won her second Grand Slam in 2002 and has added 19 more since then. Her career
prize money of $77.6 million is more than twice as much as any other female athlete.
Her late career tear has made Williams a compelling figure for marketers. She ranks second among
active athletes, behind only LeBron James in the U.S., on Repucom s CelebrityDBI, which tracks
consumer perceptions of celebrities based on awareness, as well as seven attributes. Her 89%
awareness level ranks in the top 3% of the nearly 4,000 celebrities Repucom follows, and she scores

The United States Tax Code
With the ever increasing complexity of the United States tax code, it has become more important than
ever for companies to understand and implement possible tax benefits for the company and its
employees. One major benefit that applies to both is employer provided meals. Employer provided
meals have become a major topic due to their double sided benefits. These are both tax beneficial to
employers, as the meals can be deducted by the business as an expense on its federal income tax
return, which reduces the business tax liability. Concurrently, the benefit of the provided meal is
excluded from the taxable gross income of the employee, providing the employee with a tax free
benefit. After fully understanding the laws related to employer provided meals, a business could begin
thinking about implementation of the benefit.
Due to the nature of the benefits, there are several sections of applicable tax code that will need to be
considered. This comes from the United States Code Title 26, which is the Internal Revenue Code
(IRC). The meals are both tax beneficial to a company and its employees. The meals can be deducted
by the business as an expense on its federal income tax return, which reduces the tax liability.
Employees also receive a benefit from the excludability of the provided meal from their taxable gross
income. One will need to understand what is included in employee income, the requirements for meals
to be provided for the convenience of the employer, and how

Body Imagery In Art Analysis
Hollander discusses a new tradition of painting half length portraits and first leads the reader through
the gradual move to more erotic and sensual images portrayed in artworks. She presents works by
Titian and Tintoretto and explains that artists of the period portrayed real people in exotic poses,
sometimes with bare chested men or semi exposed women s breasts, and titled their works as mythical
characters. Throughout the chapter, the author leads the reader through a variety of images that show
the gradual progression of exposed skin in artworks, from draped modern garments assuming folds of
classical draperies, which revealed parts of the body, to works such as Caravaggio s Boy Bitten by a

She describes how an abundance of drapery surrounding the sitter expressed wealth, or as seen in
Francisco de Zurbarian s Saint Serapion (1598 1664), monochromatic heavy woolen garments add a
sense of emotional burden to what is already seen in the facial and body imagery. Hollander also
describes how artist Johann Liss uses bright, hectic, swirling drapery to add drama and a sexual
distraction to the murder scene depicted in his painting Judith in the Tent of Holofernes (1595 1631).
In all the examples Hollander presents, she illustrates how fabric and draperies were used by artists of
the late sixteenth early seventeenth century to evoke a particular emotion relative to the subject matter
and not just for depicting utilitarian clothing to cover the body.
Ending the chapter is a discussion of the Hollywood photographers use of the ½ portrait which often
depicts exposed skin and draped garments to convey sensuality and the sitters consciousness of one s
beauty. According to Hollander, this shows that the Baroque spirit in portraiture has held on into the

IFDM Communication Systems
OFDM is a great technique to handle impairments of wireless communication channels such as
multipath propagation. Hence, OFDM is a practical candidate for future 4G wireless communications
techniques [1] [4]. On the other hand, one of the major drawbacks of the OFDM communication
system is the drift in reference carrier. The offset present in received carrier will lose orthogonality
among the carriers. Hence, the CFO causes a reduction of desired signal amplitude in the output
decision variable and introduces ICI. Then it brings up an increase of BER. The effect caused by CFO
for OFDM system was analyzed in [7] [9]. In [7] BER upper bound of OFDM system is analyzed
without ICI self cancellation and BER of OFDM system is analyzed using self cancellation, but this
method is less accurate. In [9], it is indicated that CFO should be less than 2% of the bandwidth of the
sub channel to guarantee the signal to interference ratio to be higher than 30 dB. A critically sampled
OFDM system/OQAM system is also not robust to CFO [9], even when optimal pulses are used as
shaping filters. Thus, carrier frequency offset greatly degrades system performance. Therefore,
practical OFDM systems need the CFO to be compensated with sufficient accuracy, and this has led to
a whole lot of literature on CFO estimation algorithms. Most of the existing CFO estimators for
OFDM are based on periodically transmitted pilot symbols. Yet, the pilot symbols transmission loses a
significant bandwidth,

Thai Teenagers
The lifestyles of the Thai teenagers have changed a lot in the past 40 50 years. For me, the technology
between in the past (1960 s) and now (as of 2017) is very distinct in its own way due to the
technological advances during the time. For this reason, I will introduce some of the aspects that
changed during 1960s to now such as communications, transportations and music.
The Technology used by Thai Teenager in communication aspect has come a long way since the past.
In the past, some communication technologies were postal messages and telegrams. The postal
message was popular during the 1960s due to how easy it was to write a message. Also, the Thai
teenagers didn t need to encrypt the message. On the other hand, telegram was also popular back in
the days, because of its speed of delivery but users had to encrypt messages to Morse code and send
the message to the staff that sent the message. Now, Thai teenagers use E mail and Social media to
communicate. E mail was invented to increase the speed of delivery and to reduce delays from
sending the physical letter (postal messages). It s now popular and used globally. Social media is very
popular too because it is a modified version of E mail. People use a lot of social media especially
Facebook which Thai teenagers use a lot to communicate and other things. Social media allows
teenagers to communicate face to face via video calling to see each other s faces in real time without
physically meeting them in real life. This is a

  • 4. A Brief Note On Ford s Autonomous Car Ford s Autonomous Car Most of the automotive companies believe that the next generation of cars are going to be autonomous vehicles, but not all of them have the same opinion about it. Some companies want to bring a fully autonomous car to reality, which wouldn t need any human interaction to drive the car, while other ones are interested in driverless cars, which need humans to drive them. Both autonomous and driverless concepts give cars more control over themselves, and both aim to give more comfort for mankind, thus providing an easier life for drivers and passengers, but the idea of an autonomous car on the roads raises some questions about the safety of it and the responsibility over a car like this. A driverless car can have most of the autonomous features, it just needs someone to drive it, and then the control would also be from a person that would be more watchful and take responsibilities over the car. Ford is going to launch an autonomous car. The company already has a semi autonomous one in market, the Fusion hybrid, and they say that the car is automated, but by automated they mean that it is capable of automated operation under the supervision of a human driver. Ford already have one step in automated driving, and in five years they are going to bring two new innovative features that are going to be essential for self driving cars; one is the fully automated parking that allows the vehicle to park itself with no help from the driver, the driver just have ... In Athletes Stand As Role Models, Like It Or Not Black sheds light on the tendency of star athletes to shape society s perception of right and wrong, and criticizes athletes for not promoting moral conduct. He argues that young folk are highly impressionable and that the influential nature of being a professional athlete obligates sportspeople to uphold a higher level of moral integrity than members of the general public (par. 3). According to Black, by putting sportspeople in a position to directly influence the ideology of fans, the media has inadvertently designated professional athletes as role models. As a result, he argues that athletes have a social obligation to conduct themselves in a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Nonetheless, this in no way obligates sportspeople to maintain an ethical lifestyle outside of sports. Just because athletes are promoted on television and media for their prowess in tackling or scoring touchdowns, doesn t mean that people should rely on them to establish their moral constructs. In other words, it is impractical to think that someone who excels at playing a sport automatically possesses the values and character required to positively mold the ideology of others. Yet, this is exactly the argument that Black attempts to make. By depicting professional athletes as role models, Black makes the inference that playing a sport is in some way virtuous. This post hoc ergo propter hoc argumentation is flawed because it promotes the idea that being a proficient athlete somehow qualifies someone as righteous. However, athletic ability in no way translates to the quality of an individual s value system. To highlight this issue, one can focus on the case of Tiger Woods, a professional golfer who was heavily criticized in 2009 when it became public that he had an affair (Falzone par. 4). Although Woods is considered to be one of the most talented golfers of al time, he leaves much to be desired in terms of character (Falzone par. 4). Consequently, it is unfair to discriminate against professional athletes, and to generalize their occupation as noble. In sports, just like in any other profession, there are individuals who deserve to be role models and those who do ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

While they were going to the City of Emeralds, where the great Oz lived, they faced many challenges. Most of the irony, which means language that normally signifies the opposite, in the book comes from the way they solve each challenge. Scarecrow, who is made of straw and has no brains, comes up with the most intelligent solutions to their problems. While they were walking, they come across a ditch and no one knows how to cross it, but the Scarecrow says to the Lion, he should jump over it while carrying us on his back. Later, they come across a gulf that was deeper and wider than the Cowardly Lion can jump. So after seriously thinking for awhile, the Scarecrow sees a great tree and says to his friends, Here is a great tree, standing close to the ditch. If the Tin Woodman can chop it down, so that it will fall to the other side, we can walk across it easily. (Baum 41). That is a first rate idea, said the Lion. A saponification reaction is considered to be the reverse of an esterification reaction because in an esterification, a carboxylic acid is combined with an alcohol to produce an ester and water; and in a saponification, an ester is combined with lye (Na+ + OH ) to produce the salt of a carboxylic acid and an alcohol. Essentially, the products and reactants are opposites of each other in either reaction. 2. The functional groups in glycerol are hydroxyl groups (OH). It belongs to the alcohol family and, due to its three hydroxyl groups, it is polar with a high bp/mp/H2O sol. 3. I predict that the boiling point of glycerol will be higher than that of ethanol because ethanol only has one hydroxyl group and glycerol has three. Glycerol s three hydroxyl groups make it more polar than ethanol (larger polar region compared to its non polar region); and therefore, it requires more energy to break its bonds. 4. The usage of gold on the frame like device also gives this painting a more sophisticated look. Equally important, like I touched on earlier, the position of the human figures in this painting also play an important role in making this historical event biased. The human bodies are clustered and below Alexander the Great s eye level to show dominance and authority. The Getty also mentions that the text near the bottom of the painting in the cartouche translates to It is for a king to vanquish himself which includes King Louis XIV. Other hidden symbols that reference King Louis XIV are the Latin motto of King Louis XIV in the side and top borders which translate to Not Unequal to many [tasks] (The Getty) and the crossed L s at the top to represent King Louis XIV symbol. • 12. The Global Environment, Differentiation, Low Cost... In today`s global environment, differentiation, low cost leadership, and responsiveness are among three major characteristics of an organisation that aims to achieve a competitive advantage over its competitors. Organisations also endeavour to reduce lead time and their direct and indirect costs, increase return on investment as well as customer satisfaction, improve quality and reliability of their products. However they also need to consider social, environmental and ethical concerns and establish a company mission and vision in such a way that mitigate these concerns while achieving a competitive advantage. Strategies through achieving a competitive advantage resulted in the existence of the terms `Globalisation` and supply chain management (SCM). Because in today`s emerging and industrialized environment companies seek to achieve competitive advantages and are no longer competing with their own expertise but with the talent in their entire global supply chain. [1] Another reason why the importance of SCM has been highlighted is that most of the companies need other manufacturers or companies from which they can supply raw materials, sub assemblies and components, finished goods, or equipment in order to keep their production in working order, achieve their business objectives and goals and customer satisfaction, and meet customers` rapidly changing requirements at right time, cost and quality. Since there were fewer peasants to work, they could demand higher wages, they could even move up classes. The serf system was collapsing from all the deaths. Nobody could stop serfs from up and leaving. As independence spread, so did law breaking. People would enter the dead s homes and steal or stay in the house. Introduction Interest in cost and management accounting practices in the restaurant industry is rising (Raab et al., 2009; Annaraud et al., 2008). Pavesic (1985) has initiated research in pricing and cost accounting for restaurants, introducing the concept of profit factor (PF) in menu engineering (ME). Prior studies, such as the one presented in Chan and Au (1998) investigate the implications of not incorporating overhead costs in menu item profitability analyses in restaurants in Hong Kong. Since then, a number of researchers have examined the application of contemporary cost and management accounting techniques, and particularly activity based costing (ABC) in a restaurant environment ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... To this end Kaplan and Cooper (1998) suggest that service companies are ideal candidates for ABC. One reason for this is that in the services industry a great percentage of total cost is labour cost and processes are highly variant (Kostakis et al., 2008). Studies have shown the possible use and potential benefits of ABC in the hotel industry (Kostakis et al., 2011; Berts and Kock, 1995; Noone and Griffin, 1999). New techniques assisting large scale ABC implementation have also been developed in recent years (Kaplan and Anderson, 2004). The restaurant industry is facing great challenges today, mainly due to the highly competitive environment and the diverse needs of the customers. Restaurants have to achieve a balance between serving these needs, and pricing their menu items to achieve adequate profitability levels (Raab et al., 2009).Traditional costing systemsand simplistic pricing approaches were very popular within the restaurant industry. Overhead cost and operating expenses were usually excluded and prices were a function of food cost, as well as customer demand, historical prices and other factors. This method has the evident disadvantage of leading to misleading information about individual menu items. Research ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Truman Show is a film where a man for his whole life has been filmed for the entertainment of others and doesn t even realize that he is on camera at all times. There are a few scenes that will be discussed whether the scene is able to provide a religious experience. The Truman Show is about a man named Truman Burbank. Before he was even born a large corporation adopted him to use as the main character for their television show. Throughout the movie, Truman slowly starts to notice that things seem a little odd and that the world around him doesn t make sense. By the end of the movie, he knows that his life is fake even though no one told him at the time that his world is fake. The first scene that we will be looking at is the very first scene of the movie. In the scene we see a man talking to us. He is the director of The Truman Show, he talks about how while the world around Truman is fake Truman s emotions are real and genuine and that nothing about Truman is fake in any way. Since the director created and runs the television show he can be seen as the holy or divine because he created this world and can control every aspect of it. This scene asks the questions is there a higher being. The director can be seen as a godly figure because he controls the environment and the actions of everyone around Truman. One cannot trust everything they see on TV either. Most commercials you would see today are overly exaggerated just to persuade consumers into buying the product. For example, in the 1930 s America s first drug czar Harry J. Living in the 1930 s, television was very new, and people that actually owned a television set believed almost everything they saw on it. So whatever the advertisements were promoting, it could easily persuade someone into believing their claim. The lack of technology that society had at the time made people a lot more gullible then today. Maybe the mass media did not realize that what is shown to the popular culture on a daily basis could be so influential no matter how untruthful the advertisements might be. It is not fair for the government to know more information than society. So to be able to instill truthfulness the mass media cannot promote exaggerated claims like the one I mentioned earlier. She is abandoned to this family at the age of six because her mother could not afford to care for her and resented her and the hardships to which her birth had contributed. The mistress of the household to which Frado is left is a cruel and spiteful woman, especially towards blacks. When Frado is left in the care of the Bellmont residence as a young girl, she has no idea of the troubles she would have to face for most of her life. • 30. Manliness Wins Wars Well, Manliness Wins Wars* or Who Needs These Heroes?* Introduction Acknowledging the interconnectedness of gender and warfare is unavoidable in contemporary literature on the subject. War s ability to enhance men s authority and magnify the distance between femininity and masculinity (Cockburn 2010, pg. 144) has lead to the prominence of the subject in contemporary feminist studies. Understandably the majority of recent literature has been directed towards war s impact on women and the feminine . This limitation, however, fails to take into account the way in which men and their interests, their notions of manliness, and masculine micro and macro cultures (Nagel 2006, pg. 243) impacts on politics and war. If we accept that nations and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I attempt to look at the concept of heroism and how it was interwoven with the development of American nationalism through the rhetoric of George W. Bush following the attacks of 9/11. I also contrast the rhetoric of Jacques Chirac following 9/11 and that of François Hollande following the recent attacks in Paris. These would suggest, I argue, that when faced when with immediate and confronting violence hegemonic masculinity is used to legitimise violent international relations (or war). If correct, this perhaps provides an insight into how societies could seek to organise their affairs in a manner that would strive to avoid warfare altogether. What is gender and masculinity? I note here that when considering gender this essay accepts the notion put forward by Cohn that it is necessary to focus on gendered discourses, rather than gendered individuals (Cohn 1993, pg. 228). In other words rather than only looking at words and language it will consider a system of meanings, of ways of thinking, images and words that first shape how we experience, understand, and represent ourselves as men and women, but that also do more than that; they shape many other aspects of our lives and culture (Cohn 1993, pg. 228). It is to be understood as a set of variable, but socially and culturally constructed relational characteristics that determine how we experience and understand ourselves as men and women, but that also interweaves with other discourses and shapes them (Brunner 2008, pg. ... Through the life that she led and the lessons she taught us, many know her as the one girl revolution . Though Margaret Sanger s revolution may be even more controversial now than during her 50 year career of national and international battles, her opinions can teach us many lessons. Due to her strong influence in history, our society has increased health awareness for women, made sexual protection a choice for all people, and also introduced family modification as a choice for mankind. Having gone through the hardships that she did, Margaret Sanger developed her own theories and beliefs about health in women. Through the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In addition to the articles she composed, Margaret Sanger decided to make sexual protection an option for all people. Previously, contraceptives and spermicides were only distributed to those who had information on the matter and access to them (Margaret 1). Sanger was past 80 when she saw the first marketing of a contraceptive pill, which she had helped develop, although legal change was slow. It took until 1965, a year before her death, for the Supreme Court to approve the use of contraception, but Sanger had accomplished a goal (Margaret 1). Now, contraceptives were available to all women, in all walks of life, regardless of their financial situations. In her mind, poor mental development was largely the result of poverty, overpopulation and the lack of attention to children. This was definitely one of the reasons why Sanger desired to make protection available to lower class citizens, along with the wealthy. Although she had met her goal of legalizing birth control, Margaret Sanger still desired to assist women who were already pregnant but didn t wish to keep the child. After returning from a national tour in 1916, Sanger opened the nation s first birth control clinic in Brownsville, Brooklyn (Katz 1). This, however, was a minor advancement considering that the clinic was raided in its first nine days of operation and she was taken to prison. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 33. Value Of Sacrifice Research Paper The word sacrifice means that something is given up in order to benefit another person. Sacrifices are placed into categories based upon what is being given up in order to benefit someone else. There can be political, personal, and in this piece of literature, religious sacrifices. Therefore, I will be discussing the vital values of sacrifices established in bible stories along with when they are to be taken place. As mentioned previously, sacrifices can vary in types such as personal, political, and religious. A personal sacrifice comes from within someone such as a someone giving up a get together with friends to help their mom around the house or helping out a friend study for future exams instead of going to the movies. • 34. Aristotle And Utilitarianism Utilitarianism is the idea that best moral path possible at all times is one that benefits the greatest amount of people. In other words, Utilitarianism operates under the doctrine that supports the greater good and maximizes happiness. It does not require or virtuous figure to follow, for it based purely upon reducing human suffering. It is sometimes called consequentialism because it is based on the idea that the best action is what produces the best consequences. They reduce suffering. you can have different actions that lead to good outcomes and they can all be good. Aristotle came up with the virtue theory. The virtue theory, on the other hand, states that an action is moral if it is what virtuous being would do. In this way, less emphasis is placed upon specific rules or laws that clearly define moral actions, and more is placed on what constitutes a good person. Although there is not a clear line in the virtue theory of what is rational and what is not, it is `often up to common sense to determine what is an admirable trait and what is not. A virtuous person does not let their emotions control them and inhibit them from doing what they know to be right. This part is important: their heart must be in the right place at all times. there should be no difference between what they should do and what they want to do. Even though the hot scorching midday sun was beating down, he found it necessary to take a walk, calm his nerves, and gather his thoughts on issues soon to come. For many months, the king and his advisers have met in one, of many cool, damp secret chambers beneath the Citadel of Splendor to discuss the growing problems with lawless merchants outside Kelmoor Keep. Instead of writing down real names, he gave everything a nickname. Therefore, if someone was able to read or stole his papers they would be completely lost, finding the writing gibberish and worthless. Matisyahu is only praising God; he says, without [God] there s no me, you re the air that I breathe, for example. Matisyahu describes his relationship with God as one that is like the relationship one has with food, for nourishment. The most notable portion of the music video is at the very end; Matisyahu is walking down a street and, as he turns around a corner, meets a boy. Matisyahu touches the boy on the shoulder and, it is as though the boy has reached a sort of enlightenment. In environment cadmium transfers from one trophic level to another and finally accumulated in human with toxic effects. There is an emergent need to remove the cadmium from environment. Microbes are very helpful in this area to remediate the cadmium from environment. Microorganisms used biotransformation and adsorption mechanisms for regulation of translocation of heavy metals. In present time many research have been done on the toxicity of cadmium in microorganisms. The United States Tax Code With the ever increasing complexity of the United States tax code, it has become more important than ever for companies to understand and implement possible tax benefits for the company and its employees. One major benefit that applies to both is employer provided meals. Employer provided meals have become a major topic due to their double sided benefits. These are both tax beneficial to employers, as the meals can be deducted by the business as an expense on its federal income tax return, which reduces the business tax liability. Concurrently, the benefit of the provided meal is excluded from the taxable gross income of the employee, providing the employee with a tax free benefit. After fully understanding the laws related to employer provided meals, a business could begin thinking about implementation of the benefit. Due to the nature of the benefits, there are several sections of applicable tax code that will need to be considered. She presents works by Titian and Tintoretto and explains that artists of the period portrayed real people in exotic poses, sometimes with bare chested men or semi exposed women s breasts, and titled their works as mythical characters. Throughout the chapter, the author leads the reader through a variety of images that show the gradual progression of exposed skin in artworks, from draped modern garments assuming folds of classical draperies, which revealed parts of the body, to works such as Caravaggio s Boy Bitten by a Lizard (1571 1610) where the attention on the ... • 45. IFDM Communication Systems OFDM is a great technique to handle impairments of wireless communication channels such as multipath propagation. Hence, OFDM is a practical candidate for future 4G wireless communications techniques [1] [4]. On the other hand, one of the major drawbacks of the OFDM communication system is the drift in reference carrier. The offset present in received carrier will lose orthogonality among the carriers. Hence, the CFO causes a reduction of desired signal amplitude in the output decision variable and introduces ICI. Then it brings up an increase of BER. The effect caused by CFO for OFDM system was analyzed in [7] [9]. In [7] BER upper bound of OFDM system is analyzed without ICI self cancellation and BER of OFDM system is analyzed using self cancellation, but this method is less accurate. In [9], it is indicated that CFO should be less than 2% of the bandwidth of the sub channel to guarantee the signal to interference ratio to be higher than 30 dB. A critically sampled OFDM system/OQAM system is also not robust to CFO [9], even when optimal pulses are used as shaping filters. Thus, carrier frequency offset greatly degrades system performance. Therefore, practical OFDM systems need the CFO to be compensated with sufficient accuracy, and this has led to a whole lot of literature on CFO estimation algorithms. Most of the existing CFO estimators for OFDM are based on periodically transmitted pilot symbols. Yet, the pilot symbols transmission loses a significant bandwidth, ... For this reason, I will introduce some of the aspects that changed during 1960s to now such as communications, transportations and music. The Technology used by Thai Teenager in communication aspect has come a long way since the past. In the past, some communication technologies were postal messages and telegrams.
