Question 2: How does your media product
   represent particular social groups?
Target Audience
From our target audience research, the majority of responses were from
  teenagers, so I decided to use actors of similar age in my clip. This is
  because I feel that they can relate to them well when watching it.
I compared Matt’s character to the teenage character, Mikey from
the Goonies. He was involved in the action in the film and was
rebellious. He wore similar clothes and had a scruffy hairstyle
which I thought would go well with Matt’s character.
I also based how Martha and Emily looked from the Goonies. This was
because they were also involved in the action but hung back a bit more, as
stereotypically, the males take the main role. They wore similar casual
clothes and got on well with each other.
Dave played the villain at the end and we wanted him to stand out and be
different from the other characters. As in The Goonies and The A-team, the
villains often wore different clothing. We thought black was a good colour
and represented his evil side well.
