2. Teenagers and character
representation
One of our characters is a typical teenager who is a thug. He smokes drugs, likes to bully people. By looking at the
character he represents teenagers in the view of what other people view them as. The character has short hair,
has a cool phone and represents the view of teenagers being thuggish. The character on the left who is a thug
bullies the ginger character on the right. This is due to him being ginger. The teenagers wearing clothing such as
hoodies and chinos relates to teenagers, as it is clothing worn by teenagers in today's society. We used this to our
advantage for character representation as just by looking at the characters you could tell they are youths and
thugs. The ginger characters representation was as a not as popular youth who didn’t have many friends as seen
by his dress sense and how he acts.
The other teenagers were represented as the ‘teenage’ stereo type of them being irresponsible, who take drugs ,
use violence and carry out violence for fun , where thug like clothing with hoods to hide their identity, teenagers
swear and use bad language, they also bully others for fun for absolutely no reason. This was shown through the
character representation as the teenagers are typical thug like individuals as shown through out our film.
The teenagers were taking drugs as if it was an everyday thing, this character representation represents them as
criminals and thug like, this was shown through out the film.

3. Race/colour
Character representation of the characters within out film is shown also through colour
as the white males are seen as the ones with power, the ginger kid who gets bullied is
seen to be powerless although at the end he rises up with power and over comes the
bullies, hence the title ‘rise of the ginger’. The black female is powerless also as she if
friends with the ginger kid who gets bullied, this shows she hasn’t got many friends
and isn't popular. The character representation of the ginger kid is that because he is
ginger he gets bullied, this is a stereo type we used to our advantage for character
representation.
Teenagers are seen to be irresponsible as shown through out our film where even the
kid who gets bullied commits criminal acts and kills one of the bullies. This shows a lot
through character representation as gingers aren't normally seen to have power or be
in the more powerful position.
