2. THE PURPOSE OF OUR FILM.
The point we wanted to get across to the audience was that
taking drugs never ends positively. Even when someone
fights off their addiction they will still get in to problems
like arguments, with their dealer or being in debt. By
sending this message across to the audience it will
hopefully prevent the audience turning to drugs and
trying it. Also it shows that because Greg got pressured
in to trying the drugs, just that once, he got addicted to it
and non of his friends did. Even though he said ‘just this
once’ he didn’t think about the chance of getting addicted
to cocaine. The message this sends off is that no one
should try or do things just because their friends have or
if they are telling them to. It is showing people that saying
no to their friends is sometimes the best outcome for
certain situation, e.g. drugs.
3. BEFORE AND AFTER
The picture to the left is Greg saying no to his friends about trying the drugs and
then the scene carries on, showing his friends trying to persuade him and
eventually they do. Greg goes up to take the drugs off of the table and then the
scene skips on the showing that 2 months later Greg is addicted to the drugs as he
is taking them again in his room and non of his friends are taking them with them or
pressuring him in to them.
4. RELATION TO FILM POSTER
This is our film poster. There is a relation from the poster and
our film. The purpose of our film poster was to show that the
main character, which is Greg, isn’t happy in the photo and
has a black eye, therefore it is showing that he has got in to
some sort of trouble and has mostly likely been involved in a
fight with someone. Also from his facial expression you can
see that he looks like he knows he has done something
wrong and he is concerned about something. The title of our
film is big, bold and is on top of the poster, this is something
that the audience will first look at and the image is most likely
to be the second thing. So just by looking at the film poster
the audience will be able to gather that the film is going to be
about Greg getting addicted to drugs and gets himself in the
some trouble because of them. This will make the audience
want to watch the film as it will be exciting to see what the
problem is.
5. KIDULTHOOD FILM POSTER
This is a poster we used to look up ideas for ours, this is
because it is the same genre as ours, which is Urban Drama
and the character are the same age group about 17-19 year
old. Also we looked at the characters facial expressions
which is concerned and none of them looked happy. Also we
looked at the back ground of the poster and it is dark and
mostly black, we took this idea in to mind and made our film
poster with a black background. There are also a few things
we decided to change one of which was where the title of our
film is placed.
6. MESSAGE GIVEN FROM THE RADIO TRAILER
The radio trailer is Greg and psychiatric talking to each other about the
addiction and Greg is asked question like ‘How did you get addicted?’,
‘Have you looked for any help?’, this is giving the audience a few ideas
what the film is going to be about and what the storyline may be based
on. By this they can also see what kind of genre our film is, which is an
Urban Drama. Also the radio trailer is mostly in a soft tone of voice, but
worried at the same time. This gives the message that the film is going
to be exciting and intense throughout. Also at the end of the radio trailer
the psychiatric says to Greg ‘I think your time is up’ in a concerned way,
this is telling the audience the message that someone bad is going to
happen to Greg, in the film it is death, as he gets stabbed. This is an
example of foreshadowing. Also this will attract the audience as it
sounds mysterious and they will want to know what happens to Greg at
the end of our film.
