 Recruitment is a process, through which the vacant
position is filled up. It is a combination of selection
recruitment and induction.
 There are two types of recruitment
1. Internal source.
2. External source.

• Political, Social framework
• Image & Reputation

SOURCE OF RECRUTMENT
ADVANTAGE OF INTERNAL SOURCE
1. No money required for conducting interview.
2. Employee is aware of organizational culture.
3. We can depend on employee.
4. No job training is required.
5. Staff turnover is required.
DISADVANTAGES OF INTERNAL
SOURCE
1. Choice is very limited.
2. Create frustration among the employee who did not
get promotion.
3. The likes and dislike of supervisor plays a very vital
role.
ADVANTAGES OF EXTERNAL
SOURCE
1. We get fresh talent.
2. Old employees change their bad habits.
3. We can get the highly experience and talented
employees.
4. Its process can be economical.
DISADVANTAGES OF EXTERNAL
SOURCE
1. The new employee may not be loyal for the
organization.
2. During interview complete evaluation of the
employee may not be done.
3. If the employee does not have sufficient knowledge
or experience, training may be required.

SELECTION
Selection is the process where the right candidate are selected.
Selection has been regarded as the most important function of HR
department. It ensures the organization that; it has right
number, right kind of people at the right place and at the right
time.
Meaning and Definitions:
“It is the process of differentiating between
applicants in order to identify (and hire) those with the greater
likelihood of success.”
Steps of selection process
Application bank.
Initial interview of candidate.
Employment test.
Interview.
Checking reference.
Physical and medical test.
Final interview and induction.
