2. The most important thing about my music magazine is that
it will appeal to all ages of people who like Indie music, it
shouldn't have to be completely confined to a certain
gender or 5 year age gap. The magazine is not about
what free items you get with it (immediately tailoring the
magazine to specific kind of person) and more about the
music and information inside, purely about the music and
it's history. However, although it can appeal to everyone
it is going to appeal to some people more than others.
People ages 16-25 are more likely to access this
magazine and understand what it is about since they are
more likely to keep up with the times. They would be
both genders although various results show that typically
males like Indie more.
3. When looking at other magazines through the similar text
analysis you can see that one of the defining things
about the audiences age is what opportunities you get in
the magazine along with the free gift. For example, for
children you may get a small toy or puzzle. For a young
teenager who likes pop you may get a make up item. In
my magazine I have offered the opportunity with winning
gig tickets and winning a guitar, something that is more
applicable to the older audiences. For starters those
older than 16 as they are more likely to be able to go to
concerts which would mean giving anyone under that
age unfair opportunities and leaves them at a
disadvantage.
4. • I have chosen this group of people as, not only do they
like the music most along with are likely to know and
understand the music industry they are more likely to
buy it. They may still get pocket money or have a job,
although the magazine isn’t expensive at £1.99 to suit
the age group. They are more likely to want to search for
new information. There are more of the younger
generation these days that prefer to read a physical copy
of something then just through a screen on the internet
so this would also suit them. When making a magazine
you need to have some sort of idea as to who you want
to buy it otherwise, when piecing it together, it may be
very unclear and then put people off. You also need to
know so you can create content that they would want,
therefore making it likely that they would buy it which is
the ultimate goal.
