AT VENKATALAKSHMI
P
re-kindergarten wing of Ven-
katalakshmi Matriculation
Higher Secondary School cele-
brated “Red Week” to introduce chil-
dren into the mesmerizing realm of
colours.
The shades of red made tiny tots
feel bright, lively and cheerful. The
week started off with the colour red
everywhere, red colour attires, red
teaching aids and red dolls.
The tiny tots looked stunning in
their outfits throughout the week. Kids
were encouraged to sing songs about
the colour Red. The children enthusi-
astically sang songs along with the
teachers. As a part of activity kids
were motivated to colour red on paper
plates and made ladybugs. Colours are
indeed smiles of nature.
The Red week celebration was a
wonderful learning experience which
helped the children to identify objects
in colour red and relate it with lively
things. By the end of the week the kids
were able to sort and classify objects
based on colour red which reinforced
their cognitive skills.

SGNCS STUDENTS SHOWCASE
THEIR ARTISTIC SKILLS
POSTER MAKING CONTEST
M
y friends revealed to me one evening that
they keep fish in their homes. I questioned
them about the origin of the fish. They
replied that they obtained it from our neighbor’s
residence. I also wanted to keep fish as pets in my
house, but when I asked my mother, she said we
couldn’t keep fish.
Using Google Lens, I was able to identify them
as guppy fish. I started looking up guppies online
and discovered that they require relatively little
upkeep. My mother then agreed to let me buy a few
fish. Then we collected some fish. I counted 12 fish
when I looked. One fish was so fat that I assumed
it was carrying a baby
. And that was true. After
two days, our bucket contained four baby fish (Yes!
That is currently our fish tank!). My mother was
aware that the larger fish will consume the small-
er fish.
She then transferred the four young fish to a
different bucket. We once again relocated those 11
fish to the baby bucket after a few
days, and I was so happy to see 11
additional new baby fishes. I’m
hoping to purchase a real fish
tank shortly

DURING THE
VACATION
I
was excited for my summer vacation. I spent
my vacation with my relatives. Also, I was
interested in upgrading my skills. I thought
thatlearninganextralanguagewillgivememore
confidence to survive in this competitive world.
So, I started to go to Hindi class. Even though I
was busy in my classes I didn’t forget to finish
my homework regularly
. This time our leave got
extended due to heavy heat waves. I wanted to
make this time very useful, so I decided to learn
something new that I never knew before. I was
weak at drawing, so I gave it a try
, initially it did
not come well, but with self-confidence and prac-
tice I did it. Now I have started to draw well. At
the same time I started to read newspapers and
developed my reading skill. When I heard the
school reopening date, I was very excited to meet
my friends and teachers. I eagerly waited to at-
tend the first day of my class. On the first day of
my class, my class teacher asked me about my
vacation, and appreciated me. I spent quality
time by reading and learning, I hope I will use
all my skills that I learnt.

THE LOST
GIRL
On a windy stormy night,
A girl searches for light,
She tries with all her – might,
To get the gift of light.
She searches
for peace,
And is never
at ease,
She tries to
cease,
Her life in one
whole piece.
But then in the shadow,
She feels very hallow,
She is always trapped in cages,
Captured in there for all ages.

he student of class III A did an activ-
ity to support G20 summit. We
planned to do the posters emphasizing
different agendas of G-20. Earlier during
the summer vacation, itself my class par-
ticipated in Janabhagidari movement where
in many activities were done. The FLN goals
were also achieved through this. The goals
focused were Health and Well Being , Effec-
tive Communicators and of course Involved
Learners. Yoga, Meditation, Silambam,
Bharath Natyam, Odissi etc were practiced
and done regularly for good Health. Ran-
goli were put on to show the G20 movement.
Effective communication was achieved
when the kids spoke of the summit, they
showed the posters and explained about it
in the class. They showed seeds of different
flowers and vegetables in their house, sup-
porting the slogan “ One Earth, One Life
,One Family”. Yes we are all one family and
that is what is taught in our school to culti-
vate the habit of sharing and caring. After
all these kids are the future of our Nation
and we all want a strong citizen with a clear
vision and mission.
