A DAY AT MALAMPUZHA DAM AND FANTASY PARK
O
n the 10th of February
2024, Sri Vinayaga Vid-
hyalaya School organized
a delightful picnic for students
from grades 6 to 8 to Malampu-
zha Dam and Fantasy Park. The
anticipation and excitement
among the students were palpa-
ble as they embarked on this
adventure with their friends and
teachers.
Thejourneycommencedwith
laughter and songs aboard a DJ
bus, creating a jubilant atmos-
phere. By 9 in the morning, the
students arrived at their destina-
tion and were promptly divided
into teams, each accompanied by
ateacherguide.Uponenteringthe
amusement park, students ea-
gerlychosefromanarrayof rides,
ranging from safe to thrilling.
The park’s lush greenery and
vibrant flowers provided a pictur-
esque backdrop for their esca-
pades. The rollercoaster ride was
a highlight, offering an exhilarat-
ing experience as they soared up
and down the rails with unre-
strained enthusiasm. Even the
‘Flip-line,’ though daunting for
some due to its height, provided a
rush of adrenaline as they tra-
versed from one end to the other.
After working up an appetite, the
studentsandteachersindulgedin
a hearty meal, replenishing their
energyfortheoutdoorgamesthat
followed.
The afternoon was filled
with laughter and splashes as
they engaged in water games,
relishing the refreshing break
from routine. Later, they visited
the majestic Malampuzha Dam,
basking in the serenity of its
natural beauty
. Time seemed to
slip away unnoticed, with the
evening approaching faster than
expected.
Reluctantly, they packed
their bags, cherishing the mem-
ories created during this short
yet memorable outing. The
school picnic provided an in-
valuable opportunity for both
students and teachers to bond
outside the confines of the class-
room, fostering camaraderie and
creating lasting memories of joy
and adventure.
LIFE IS ALL ABOUT
DISCOVERING
OUR SELF
LIFE IS ALL ABOUT
DISCOVERING
OUR SELF
O
ur life is amalgamation of victories and fail-
ures. The way we tend to face them will un-
cover the real human.
I was kindled to pen this article based on my
experience which I encounter for the past one month
that taught me to love my life.
· Our life is uncertain. Never give rooms for others to
design your life.
· Give priority for family, the ones who never expect
other than our love and care.
· Acceptance is the key for inner peace. Accept the
things as it comes and act accordingly.
· Self respect is a pivotal part. Respect yourself, pri-
oritise your actions and execute it.
· Humanity is a healer for every problem . Work and
teach with humanity in children and in your team.
· Jot down the threats and opportunities for the sit-
uations you come across and ignite the creativity to
deal with it.
· Forgive and forget ,all is well .
In the short span of our life let
us be a good human rather than
great person.

T
he ornamental making competition was organ-
ized by the Euler’s Club (Maths club) of Ven-
katalakshmi Matric. Hr. Sec. School took place
on 03.02.2024. The competition aimed to promote
creativity
, craftsmanship and mathematical thinking
among students by challenging them to design and
create ornamental pieces using mathematical con-
cepts. The competition saw enthusiastic participa-
tion from students across various grades, with 75
students showcasing their skills and creativity
. Each
participant was required to create an ornamental
piece using Mathematical principles and techniques.
The pieces could be made from a variety of materi-
als such as paper, clay
, recycled materials, vegetables
and fruits. Participants were encouraged to incor-
porate mathematical shapes, patterns and concepts
into their designs. The ornamental pieces were
judged based on creativity and originality, Mathe-
matical relevance, craftsmanship and the overall
presentation. Students utilized various mathemati-
cal concepts such as symmetry, tessellations, frac-
tals, geometric transformations in their designs. The
competition was a resounding success, providing
students with an opportunity to showcase their
creativity while exploring mathematical concepts
in a practical and engaging manner. The competition
not only fostered a deeper appreciation for mathe-
matics but also encouraged students to think criti-
cally and creatively in their artistic endeavors.

T
he unconditional love of a pet can provide
comfort and minimize feelings of loneliness,
depression, anxiety. It makes the whole place
homelier. The idea that simply getting a pet is
going to make you happy and de-stress you is not
going to work if you don’t do the homework about
what the pet needs. People don’t really understand
that having a dog is also likely to have health
issues. They’re told that this is going to be a really
good experience for them, but not for the dog.so
treat your pets as same as you which is very man-
datory and give and get
the love from them.

HOW TO REPLICATE
THESE PELLETS
U
ranium pellets aren’t simply
plucked from the ground, ready
to light up cities. They undergo
a fascinating journey before reaching
their place in a nuclear reactor. This is
the journey of how they are made:
FROM MINE TO MILL: The story
begins in uranium mines, where ore is
extracted from the Earth. This ore con-
tains different isotopes of uranium, but
only U-235 (A type of uranium) is read-
ily fissionable and efficient for energy
production.
ENRICHMENT: Through a pro-
cess called ‘Enrichment’, the concen-
tration of U-235 in the ore is increased,
typically from 0.7% to 4- 5%. This en-
riched uranium is converted into gas
(called Uranium hexafluoride, or UF 6
) for further processing.
FUEL FABRICATION: The
UF 6 gas is converted into
uran.1ium dioxide (UO 2 )
powder. This powder is then
pressed into cylindrical
pellets and baked at
high temperatures to
form the ceramic
fuel rods used in
reactors.
MAKING THE MAGIC HAPPEN
Inside nuclear reactors,
uranium pellets become tiny
powerhouses:
NUCLEAR FISSION: The magic
begins when neutrons collide with
U-235 atoms, causing them to split (fis-
sion). This fission releases incredible
amounts of energy in the form of heat.
HEAT TO STEAM: The intense
heat boils water in the reactor core,
creating steam that drives turbines
connected to electrical generators.
POWERING HOMES: The tur-
bines spin rapidly, converting the me-
chanical energy into electricity, which
is then transported through the grid to
power homes, businesses, and indus-
tries.
THE MIGHTY MIDGETS:
URANIUM PELLETS!
THE MIGHTY MIDGETS:
URANIUM PELLETS!
TINY PELLETS, BIG IMPACTS
Uranium pellets, despite their un-
assuming size, play a significant role
in the world’s energy mix. They offer
a clean and efficient source of electric-
ity but also involve safety considera-
tions and waste management chal-
lenges. Understanding their entire life
cycle, from breed to disposal, is cru-
cial for informed discussions about
nuclear energy and its potential for a
sustainable future.
REMEMBER: This is a simplified
overview, and the specific details of
each stage in the life cycle may vary
(Fun Fact: 1 uranium pellet can give 1
month’s supply of electricity to 1
household without damaging the
earth).

The life cycle of uranium pellets
doesn’t endwith generating electricity:
SPENT FUEL: After operating in the reactor for a period, the
pellets become “spent fuel” as their U-235 diminishes. However, they
still contain residual heat and valuable fissile material.
WASTE MANAGEMENT: Spent fuels need careful attention management
due to their radioactivity
. Currently, it is stored in secure facilities, and research is
ongoing for reprocessing spent fuel to reclaim usable material and reduce waste.

I
am loved more by my parents than they are by
me. They play with joy, be gentle and nice to me,
and look out for me when I need them. They con-
sistently encourage my creativity. I consider
myself fortunate to have my parents. In the same
way, the teachers, and friends I play with are really
kind people. Together with having fun, my teachers
have taught me many valuable lessons in a humor-
ous way. I adore my grandfather, father, uncle, aunt,
and cousin. I’m fortunate to have such kind souls.
