Dear Parents,
It is our mission to ensure that
each student who passes through
the portals of AGSN be with a
heart full of kindness, ears for
compassion and hands for
charity.
These traits will hold them in
good stead and can be achieved
by a shared pledge between
committed teachers, inspired
students and eager parents.
We would like to share with you
that we have embarked on our
IB journey as a DP and PYP
candidate school, where PYP has
already taken wings and DP is
in the process of launching.
Greetings for the festive season!
Principal & AGSN Team
Impossible is for the unwilling
-John Keats
Children have real learning of only what they invent themselves - Jean Piaget
Asharing with parents of grades EY 1, EY 2, PY 1, PY 2 and PY 3 for the journey of the unit/theme
was taken by the homeroom teachers of the respective grades along with specialists for various
subjects. The idea was to help parents understand the process of learning and skill building through the
theme completed. The teachers also shared evidences of work with parents to see the application of the
learning by their children. The sharing was followed by queries of the parents that were addressed by
teachers. It definitely was an enriching experience for both parents and teachers. Early years we shared
the journey about the unit “How we express ourselves” and Early years 2 shared about the unit
“Who we are”. Primary years 3 shared about the unit “How we organize ourselves”.
To observe and practice Sustainable development goals of the United Nations, AGSN embarked on a
drive of growing a plant by each student and teacher in a mini ‘class garden’. The initiative endeavoured
to inculcate in children the love and their responsibility towards
nature, besides developing patience as they wait for their plants
to grow. In addition, a story writing activity was organized with
the plant as the main hero and it was wonderful to see the
children participate in it with a lot of enthusiasm and passion.
The stories came out incredibly well with touching elements and
climax. The plants have been named and are being nurtured by
their owners on a regular basis. Indeed, it’s a treat to see so
much greenery in the school .
My friend Ross
I have a friend ,I call it “Ross”
Its green and leafy and have some thorns,
I water it everyday and he smiles at me,
My friends say its just a plant ,cant you just see
For me its our only chance to sustain , if you agree!!

INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATIONS
To commemorate India’s 73RD
INDEPEDENCE DAY, AGSN witnessed a week-long celebration on the
eve of the big day. The celebratory activities started with Doodling wherein students were given the topic
”What independence means to you?” Our students expressed themselves beautifully and came up with
impressive doodles. Next, a tableau session depicting the lives of Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King Junior
was conducted which again displayed the talent and acting prowess of our budding performers. Dressed in
tricolored attires students of PYP confidently shared a few famous slogans of our freedom fighters . Our
youngest learners from EY1, EY2 and P1 sang a patriotic song- ‘Mera Desh’ followed with a parody by
grades P2, P3 and P4 in full synchronization. To add to the colours of patriotism students of Grade P3 per-
formed the National Anthem using signs and symbols. Students of LS3 staged a riveting MIME on the
theme ‘Independence of Students’ which left the audience enthralled. Last but not the least, students of A1
put up a Nukkad Natak (a street play) “NAYA JAHAN NAYA YUVA” which complemented the theme of
the assembly magnificently.

understand the level for happiness in various
groups of people around us. Students took up a survey
called ‘Oxford Happiness Questionnaire’ developed by
the psychologists Michael Argyle and Peter Hills from
Oxford University. This questionnaire helped in
understanding the current level of happiness in different
sects of people. The survey brought about an
awareness about the reasons of happiness and lack of
it. The results of the project were compared to the
happiness data with other countries of the world.
SANGHATAN MASHAAL
To commemorate the birthday of our Founder President
Dr.Ashok K.Chauhan a mashaal is carried every year to each
institution of Amity. Sangathan as a sports event aims to inculcate
values related to sports like team spirit, camaraderie, competitive
spirit, dedication, hard work among other qualities. The month long
sports festival across campuses of Amity University celebrates the life
and works of Founder President Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan. Being part of
such a grand event instills each Amitian with a sense of pride and
wishes for Founder Sir.
What better way can there be to learn the
some lessons of life than munching and
watching all-time favourite.’Children were heard
repeating the dialogues and while calling themselves
Simba, Pumba, Muffasa. Children wrote their
reflections after coming back to school and drew
the pictures of some of the characters.
A MOVIE- OUTING
Our students participated in an interschool competition called ‘Spellathon’ at AIS Vasundhara were the
children dived into in the enchanting sea of words .The students were seen racking their brains to
figure out tricky correct spellings, putting the jumbled letter in correct order and making anagrams. They
were judged for their speed ,precision , vocabulary and spellings.
The competition made the students aware of spellings and the usage of many unfamiliar words .It was a
wonderful learning experience for the participants as they came back enriched with a better ‘vocabulary
bank’ and equipped to face spelling challenges ahead.
SPELLATHON
GROOMING SESSION
AGSN participated with full enthusiasm in the event – ‘Innovation in Education Technology Awards’
hosted by AIS, Saket. The innovative and outstanding work of our students were proudly displayed,
which received a lot of accolades by one and all. Ms Soniya Mishra and Ms Divya Sharma represented our
school and discoursed about their topics with elan. Ms Anshupriya’s essay was rewarded the best for the
year 2018 and was awarded a trophy, stole and a cash prize. The event concluded with an inspirational
talk by our honourable Chairperson Ma’am, Dr Amita Chauhan. Like always she appreciated the efforts of
each participating school, which further lifted the spirit of both the winners and the participants.
INNOVATION IN EDUCATION TECHNOLOGY AWARDS
Amity does not believe in teachers who are merely academically sound but in those who have
groomed themselves well and are role models to the young learners. With this objective in mind a
grooming session was organized for the staff by the Amity Finishing school. Ms. Richa Mutreja and
Dr.Ishani Chandra conducted a session with many useful takeaways. The session covered a variety of
aspects like professional dressing and basic communication etiquettes. The session was engaging and lively
and involved few hands-on activities. We were fortunate to have Mrs. Jayashree Chauhan Vice President
at Amity Finishing School grace the occasion.

  • 1. Dear Parents, It is our mission to ensure that each student who passes through the portals of AGSN be with a heart full of kindness, ears for compassion and hands for charity. These traits will hold them in good stead and can be achieved by a shared pledge between committed teachers, inspired students and eager parents. We would like to share with you that we have embarked on our IB journey as a DP and PYP candidate school, where PYP has already taken wings and DP is in the process of launching. Greetings for the festive season! Principal & AGSN Team Impossible is for the unwilling -John Keats
  • 2. Children have real learning of only what they invent themselves - Jean Piaget Asharing with parents of grades EY 1, EY 2, PY 1, PY 2 and PY 3 for the journey of the unit/theme was taken by the homeroom teachers of the respective grades along with specialists for various subjects. The idea was to help parents understand the process of learning and skill building through the theme completed. The teachers also shared evidences of work with parents to see the application of the learning by their children. The sharing was followed by queries of the parents that were addressed by teachers. It definitely was an enriching experience for both parents and teachers. Early years we shared the journey about the unit “How we express ourselves” and Early years 2 shared about the unit “Who we are”. Primary years 3 shared about the unit “How we organize ourselves”. To observe and practice Sustainable development goals of the United Nations, AGSN embarked on a drive of growing a plant by each student and teacher in a mini ‘class garden’. The initiative endeavoured to inculcate in children the love and their responsibility towards nature, besides developing patience as they wait for their plants to grow. In addition, a story writing activity was organized with the plant as the main hero and it was wonderful to see the children participate in it with a lot of enthusiasm and passion. The stories came out incredibly well with touching elements and climax. The plants have been named and are being nurtured by their owners on a regular basis. Indeed, it’s a treat to see so much greenery in the school . My friend Ross I have a friend ,I call it “Ross” Its green and leafy and have some thorns, I water it everyday and he smiles at me, My friends say its just a plant ,cant you just see For me its our only chance to sustain , if you agree!!
