SCHOOL IS COOL
03
TUESDAY, AUGUST 22, 2023
It’s not just a place where you get to learn Einstein’s Theory
of Relativity. It’s also a place where you can think beyond
the classroom. Hence we say, SCHOOL IS COOL
WHY ARE EMOJIS YELLOW?
E
mojis - being a significant part of express-
ing our emotions through virtual form is
always seen in yellow colour. So why do
these smiley faces are often spotted in a sunny
hue? But before that there are a few exceptional
emojis having five different shades besides the
original yellow. This happens by just a quick scroll
through your emojis. This colour variation raises
the question – is the yellow emoji a part of this
racially diverse set? Does the yellow colour signify
a specific race? Not really but the actual reason
behind this is ‘colour theory’ and facts. Let’s solve
this puzzle step by step. Starting from the fact
that ‘Humans are just naturally drawn to the color
yellow’. Second reason, the first colour that
appears to our mind when we say happiness is
‘YELLOW’. Yes, yellow colour predisposes us to
invoke positive feelings. Not only is this
colour theory but also
nature theory, people
who are said to appear
in the early morning sunlight, experience a happy
and cheerful day ahead. You guessed it because
sunlight is yellow. We feel happy and joyous when
we see the colour yellow. Finally, yellow being the
colour which is a recognized tool for dermatologi-
cal research about skin colour. These are the rea-
sons why emojis are yellow in colour. Now try
answering this question, ‘Why are the original
sticky notes yellow in colour?’ It has a different
answer. As we know that yellow is the colour of a
positive mood, we can also say the reason why
many cartoon characters such as Spongebob,
Squarepants, Pikachu, and of-course Minions were
made in the same colour. Just to make us
Delightful. Interesting isn’t it? Be the reason
someone smiles. Be the reason someone believes
in the goodness of people. Be happy and don’t for-
get to wear your smile.

KIDS DAY OUT AROUND
THE SCHOOL IN VENKATALAKSHMI
S
chool is the place where learn-
ing starts. Apart from learning
to read, write and excel in aca-
demics, the school also teaches us
valuable life lessons that we can in-
corporate into our daily lives. It is
the place where the foundation of
our knowledge and morals are laid.
Most of a child’s time is spent at
school and it becomes a second home
for them where they learn, play and
eat. To explore the places around the
school the kids of the kindergarten
of Venkatalakshmi Matriculation
School were taken out of the class-
room and teachers showed them the
principal’s room, staff room, play-
ground, library
, and computer room.
Children enjoyed playing in the
merry-go-round in the play area and
most of the children answered that
the playground is their favorite place
in their school. Teachers explained
about the significance of wearing
school uniforms that they will no
longer feel insecure about the way
they look and also it generates a
sense of pride and loyalty towards
the school. Kids day out around the
school was achieved when the kids
were able to identify the names of
the places in their school campus
and expressed what they do in those
places.

SCIENCE AND
MATH EXPO HELD
A
Science and Maths Exhibition was organised by
the respective departments on 19th August 2023
at PSGR Krishnammal Hr Sec school for Girls,
Peelamedu. The budding scientists from classes VI to
XII exhibited their skills through various models. The
exhibition was inaugurated by R. Hariharan, Associate
Professor of EEE department, Lt. M.
Mahaboob Associate Professor of ECE department
and the Associate NCC Officer of Sri Eshwar College
of Engineering. The Headmistress Roselin Jaya wel-
comed the guests. There were around four hundred
models, and the students explained the concept of their
models with enthusiasm. The best exhibits were se-
lected and rewarded by the chief guests. Fun filled
games were also a part of the day where students
thronged to solve the puzzles.
R
ecently I went to a polyclinic for an ailment
and was waiting for my turn to be called.
Like an owl I rotated my eyes to all the 360
degrees and studied the hospital, as if I am going
to write a novel like my favourite and creator of
Malgudi. Only a few patients were waiting and all
of a sudden a lady with her two children came to
the Hospital and the boy had a head injury bleed-
ing. The doctor and
nurse left all the
other patients and
focused their attention to treat the small boy and
everything went on well. All the commotion was
over and the hospital management served the bill
to the mother of the injured.
After seeing the bill, the mother checked
the purse, and there was not enough money.
The real sorrow started now for the mother
and she called her husband over the phone to
bring money. Must be a daily wager, he came
immediately to the hospital but without money.
He was scolding the mother because she didn’t
go to the government hospital and both were
in a tight corner on how to pay the hospital
bill. When I saw the bill, it was Rs. 460.
A woman who was sitting next to me saw the
whole thing and thrusted Rs. 500 and asked her
to settle the bill and went out of the hospital
immediately. Being the
only witness for this phi-
lanthropist act, my
author’s mind classified the human into three
inhuman, human and God. One who is self-centred
is inhuman and who is ready to help others to the
people known to them is human but the helping
even who was not connected to them we classify
them as God. You too can become a God by
extending a helping hand to the people in need!

“Every house cannot have a
policeman, but every home has
children “.
I
f the children become the cop at
home, the parents voluntarily
start to adopt themselves to fol-
low the road rules. To ensure the
safety of the parents and elders in
the family many in-campus activi-
ties are conducted at Sri Gopal
Naidu Children’s School every
week. Highlighting the aspects of
the project, the dynamic kutty cops
of Class IV promoted a program via
– Villupattu insisting and stating
the importance of following road
rules and the values of lives to
their families. The lyrics were writ-
ten, and practice was given by the
teachers. The Kutty Cops presented
it in an effective way
. The Principal
appreciated the effort put on to
spread awareness as being a re-
sponsible citizen.

SCHOOL IS COOL 03 TUESDAY, AUGUST 22, 2023 It’s not just a place where you get to learn Einstein’s Theory of Relativity. It’s also a place where you can think beyond the classroom. Hence we say, SCHOOL IS COOL WHY ARE EMOJIS YELLOW? E mojis - being a significant part of express- ing our emotions through virtual form is always seen in yellow colour. So why do these smiley faces are often spotted in a sunny hue? But before that there are a few exceptional emojis having five different shades besides the original yellow. This happens by just a quick scroll through your emojis. This colour variation raises the question – is the yellow emoji a part of this racially diverse set? Does the yellow colour signify a specific race? Not really but the actual reason behind this is ‘colour theory’ and facts. Let’s solve this puzzle step by step. Starting from the fact that ‘Humans are just naturally drawn to the color yellow’. Second reason, the first colour that appears to our mind when we say happiness is ‘YELLOW’. Yes, yellow colour predisposes us to invoke positive feelings. Not only is this colour theory but also nature theory, people who are said to appear in the early morning sunlight, experience a happy and cheerful day ahead. You guessed it because sunlight is yellow. We feel happy and joyous when we see the colour yellow. Finally, yellow being the colour which is a recognized tool for dermatologi- cal research about skin colour. These are the rea- sons why emojis are yellow in colour. Now try answering this question, ‘Why are the original sticky notes yellow in colour?’ It has a different answer. As we know that yellow is the colour of a positive mood, we can also say the reason why many cartoon characters such as Spongebob, Squarepants, Pikachu, and of-course Minions were made in the same colour. Just to make us Delightful. Interesting isn’t it? Be the reason someone smiles. Be the reason someone believes in the goodness of people. Be happy and don’t for- get to wear your smile. SCIENCE AND MATH EXPO HELD A Science and Maths Exhibition was organised by the respective departments on 19th August 2023 at PSGR Krishnammal Hr Sec school for Girls, Peelamedu. The budding scientists from classes VI to XII exhibited their skills through various models. The exhibition was inaugurated by R. Hariharan, Associate Professor of EEE department, Lt. M. Mahaboob Associate Professor of ECE department and the Associate NCC Officer of Sri Eshwar College of Engineering. The Headmistress Roselin Jaya wel- comed the guests. There were around four hundred models, and the students explained the concept of their models with enthusiasm. The best exhibits were se- lected and rewarded by the chief guests. Fun filled games were also a part of the day where students thronged to solve the puzzles. R ecently I went to a polyclinic for an ailment and was waiting for my turn to be called. Like an owl I rotated my eyes to all the 360 degrees and studied the hospital, as if I am going to write a novel like my favourite and creator of Malgudi. Only a few patients were waiting and all of a sudden a lady with her two children came to the Hospital and the boy had a head injury bleed- ing. The doctor and nurse left all the other patients and focused their attention to treat the small boy and everything went on well. All the commotion was over and the hospital management served the bill to the mother of the injured. After seeing the bill, the mother checked the purse, and there was not enough money. The real sorrow started now for the mother and she called her husband over the phone to bring money. Must be a daily wager, he came immediately to the hospital but without money. He was scolding the mother because she didn’t go to the government hospital and both were in a tight corner on how to pay the hospital bill. When I saw the bill, it was Rs. 460. A woman who was sitting next to me saw the whole thing and thrusted Rs. 500 and asked her to settle the bill and went out of the hospital immediately. Being the only witness for this phi- lanthropist act, my author’s mind classified the human into three inhuman, human and God. One who is self-centred is inhuman and who is ready to help others to the people known to them is human but the helping even who was not connected to them we classify them as God. You too can become a God by extending a helping hand to the people in need! R. MANJULA, COMPUTER TEACHER SBOA SCHOOL , COIMBATORE GOD IS EVERYWHERE GOD IS EVERYWHERE ROAD SAFETY AWARENESS THROUGH VILLUPATTU “Every house cannot have a policeman, but every home has children “.
