A Modern Day Minstrel Show
It is clear that our country 's criminal justice system is the new Jim Crow; with a huge majority of felons being African American, it is obvious that
people of color have it harder when it comes to crime sentences. We must acknowledge that mass incarceration and the Jim Crow era are greatly
similar. Minstrel shows, which showed black men to be lazy, dumb, and clownish, once justified the oppression of african americans. Many now
believe that gangsta rap does just the same and is the modern day minstrel show, by portraying blacks to be drug dealers, angry, and violent men.
Though many people believe that gangsta rap reinforces these stereotypes, it's important for one to realize that this form of expression is not a modern
day version of blackface performances.
Blackface performances were popular in American theaters for roughly 100 years, beginning around the 1830's. In 1950's blackface minstrel
shows, white and black performers were not able to share the stage therefore they opted to paint their faces black with polish. These "black"
characters were always portrayed as either villains or comedic. Blackface had been used to make arguments for slavery and why African Americans
should not be given full human rights. These are narratives created by white men that were made to oppress and dehumanize an entire race of people.
The minstrel show clip titled "Cotton and Chick Watts Blackface Minstrel Show Comedy" we are shown a very degrading performance put on by two

Personal Identity : Personal Essay : My Identity
The most difficult thing to tell anyone about me is my identity, not that there's much there. It's the fact that I'm a privileged white male; I have no
history. The only thing about me is that I'm different than everyone else. But isn't everybody? Many people say they're a cat in a dog world, a fish
swimming among sharks. But the reality is that yes, you are different, but everybody else is too. You are unique; everybody is. Most would say I'm
idiosyncratic, a stupidly complicated synonym for weird. I do the same things as everybody else, but in my own way. For instance, in elementary
school, I read around 100 books, I used to knit, I can juggle, solve a rubik's cube and so much more. When I was around five to twelve years old, I
made things nonstop. Whether it was an origami Darth Vaderto a PVC bow and arrow. I did this whenever I had spare time. Sometimes whole days
(2–7 hours) would be spent just making things. I would either go online and look up how to make something, or I would wing it and do it with no
guidelines. I think I loved doing this so much because I hate being bored. The sounds of cutting and sanding, the smells of sawdust, the feel of
polished wood, and the image of the finished project looming in your mind are all things I've come to love. One day I got this game, Portal 2. I played it
a bunch, then decided to make the portal gun (a gun that shot portals) from the game. For a long time I searched for a template, not finding any. It
was a few days later that I found one. It was a paper craft; something created fully out of paper. I spent a little bit deliberating whether I would actually
build it, as it as fifty–two pages. I decided to print it. Ten minutes later, I took that paper and got to work. The first page looked extremely tedious to
cut. It had a seemingly infinite amounts of points and curves, taunting me, saying I couldn't do it. So I whipped out my scissors and got to it. Another
ten minutes later, the first page had been cut. I started to fold the pieces, then realized I didn't know how to put them together. I looked online for
anything but found nothing, so I just decided to wing it. For a few months I kept cutting and taping. There were countless times when I cut a piece

The Temperature Changing And The Water Melting
Independent variable the independent variable for the experiment is the temperature changing and the water melting.
The dependent variable the dependent variable for the
Controlled variable is the box, and the temperature of the hot water before it is going to be placed in the lunchbox and the size of each lunchbox.
Problem
For me enjoying a perfect lunch is to have a perfect meal. All, meals need to be either cooled or heated. Without it, many people can't enjoy food
like they do at home. Some might even choose to go for a less heathy choice. I myself would always have a rock hard lunch in winter and a melted
soggy dessert in the summer. When I tried looking online for a heated lunchbox, all of them were expensive and hard to ... Show more content on

2.Use a blade and cut the trace piece out. Make sure you keep the outline of the lid
3.Later place the ice cream container inside of the box.
4.Surround the ice cream container with your choice of insulator.
5.Make sure you tape the insulator to the empty ice cream container well so the heat and the cool don't escape from the container.
6.Make sure you place the insulation at the bottom of the container as well as the sides.
7.Then, take the insulation and tape it to the back of the lid. This way heat or cold will not leave the lunchbox when you begin testing.
8.Then use tape and tape the sides to the insulation and make sure the insulation is taped well with the container.
9.To get easier access to the lunch box then get a piece of tape and tape the ends of the tap together to form a type of leverage.

Thesis About Ice Cube
One of the greatest American rap musicians is Ice Cube. How did he get the name Ice Cube? His Brother Called him that as a joke because he was
trying to be cool with the ladies and he liked it so much he began to tell everyone in the hood and that's how he became Ice Cube. He has pleased and
helped many with his art work and confidence. You might thinkIce Cube is just a gangster rapper and actor but, he is so much greater than just that.
He's a serious artist dedicated to racial advancement and series of black pride. This is what most of his fans like about him including his music. He is

The Entertainment and Media Culture
There are many different forms of entertainment media that has made an impact on the American culture. However, the one I feel that has made the
biggest impact on American culture is the music industry.
I say that because, if you look at the music from the 50's and the 60's, the music was smooth, it spoke to the teens and the adults in a certain way, the
kids danced in a calm manner, they danced in a respectful manner. In the 70's and 80's, the music took on a distinctive style, therefore, the dances and
the clothing took on a different style. The clothing began to show body parts, the stomach was the main part that showed. In the 50's and 60's you just
did not do that. You kept your body covered. When the music changed, the kids changed.
In the 80's and 90's, it took on more of a drastic change. Rap came on the scene, as well as, the disco era. When this era came about, the kids changed
even more. Their clothing, haircuts, and even their language changed. It got to be such a drastic change where men were wearing makeup and as much
jewelry as the women were. Then came the Gangsta Rap, which brought about the gang scene. Everybody was wearing their clothes extra big and
baggy. The wearing of a certain color meant you represented a certain gang and the wearing of your cap meant something else, however, it all
represented gang signs.

friends left my mom told bethany to come upstairs to sleep in her room but bethany said that she wanted to sleep downstairs because she did not
want to go upstairs. My mom said that it was fine with her. The next morning after she went missing mom made breakfast and told me to call

After an hour of searching they found nothing! A month later after the police came into our house and were searching they were finally investigating
and doing researching on what had happened to Bethany. They came to a conclusion saying she was murdered. My mom was really upset that day. A

Eight Two-Centimeter Lab Report
1.Consider eight two–cubic centimeter (2 cm3) sugar cubes stacked so that they form a single 2 x 2 x 2 cube. How does the surface area of the single,
large cube compare to the total surface area of the individual eight cubes? Report your answer as a ratio. Be sure to show all calculations leading to an
answer.
surface area of a cube is:
Area = 6 x (a x a), length of one edge of the cube, a = 2cm, surface area of a single cube =
6 x (2 x 2) = 6 x 4 = 24cm squared. total surface area of 8 individual cubes = 8 * 24 = 192cm squared
Edge length of large cube = 4cm surface area of large cube =
6 x (4 x 4) = 6 x 16 = 96cm squared as a ratio large cube : total of eight cubes 96 : 192 1 : 2

Ice Cube ( O ' Shea Jackson
Gangsta rap originated in the late 1980's. "Ice Cube (O 'Shea Jackson) of the rap group NWA (Niggaz with Attitude) wrote the song "Gangsta
Gangsta," and it shocked America with its violent, sexist, and obscene lyrics. "Gangsta Gangsta" ushered in a new genre of hip–hop music called
gangsta rap, which became identified with Compton, a predominately black and Latino working–class and working poor neighborhood in Los
Angeles". Many people did not agree with the sexist and indecent lyrics in gangsta rap even though the lyrics were telling the story of many people
who lived in this reality.
"Gangsta rap acted as an outlet so such people could express themselves angrily and not in fear that they were going to be silenced for telling the
truth. They often used gangsta rap to tell the stories of their lives, which sometimes included strong violence, hypersexuality, and drug abuse." This
music style was new and different. Gangsta rap was authentic and helped tell a story with its deep lyrics. "During the 1990s, Republican and
Democratic politicians and some black leaders blamed, not all hip–hop music, but gangsta rap for all of the black communities ' social problems: drug
use, teenage pregnancy, unemployment, gang violence, and high school dropouts. Even though these problems existed in the black community prior to
gangsta rap, this music and culture has provided a convenient target to avoid addressing the causes of the real problems of black America: racism,
sexism, and poverty".

Argumentative Essay On The White Cube
The purpose of this essay is to examine the controversial topic of the white cube and how the artists try to go over this fixed model. The first part of
the essay is focused on the description of the model of the white cube and how it starts to be the ideally model for the art exhibition. Far away from the
previous conception of the exhibition where the Salon Model was predominant. Nevertheless it starts to be clear that this model is not perfect: directly
connected with the business of the art and the art institution, become a real obstacle for the artists. The first writer/artist who speaks about the white cube

In an hour there was a transference from the the object (where's the art?) to subject (me)." "The room which they are locked is, if my information is

With this exhibition the artist, and in general all the artist conception of this period, want to show how the space of the museums and gallery want to
imprison the art between four walls. It is in in the middle of the 20th century that the walls start to be the "enemy" of the artists because their art should
be free from constrictions; they felt oppressed from that the writer Brian O' Doherty defined like the " immaculate modernist prison".
Especially during the 60s and 70s when all the types of the present contemporary art starts to go out, the artists did not want to be represented from
formal art institutions, like are museums and art galleries. They are something against the idea of the artists art. The museums and art galleries should

Growing up math wasn't a subject I was very fond of, albeit, I didn't like it personally, I feel like you should make it regaling for children to

different kinds of pizzas. Mrs. Garza had each student in the pretend that they were the chefs. The students had to decide what kind of pizza they

would do is, participate in projects, incorporate mystery in my lessons, avoid doing the same thing every single day, she the children that your passion
for teaching, ask questions, replace lectures with conversations on topics, and making myself available for all the students and parents. Learning is
supposed to be fun, exciting, and surprising. Talk to your student like you're having a conversation about the subject, instead of lecturing. Always start
the day with a question and work throughout the day to have children answer that question when the lesson is complete. I'd want to show the children
that learning can be fun, and it comes with passion, if you're having a good time so are you children. I am willing to

My Reflection On My Current Position
In my current position I have the unique opportunity to visit all kinds of classes at a variety of times throughout the day and during these visits I have
seen the whole spectrum of lessons being taught. One of the most amazing things I have learned is that usually within minutes of entering a classroom;
I can instantly tell how a lesson is going for a teacher. If the students are engaged and actively learning or are involved in an activity, it becomes very
evident through their facial expressions to me, that the lesson is going well and learning is taking place. On the other hand, if when I enter the
room the students give me that look of "please help us", I can tell things aren't going well and something is amiss in the lesson. When I see this my
curiosity usually gets the best of me and if I see these students later in the day or have a moment during the time I am in the classroom I try to talk to
them to find out what was going on. It is amazing to me how there is usually a common thread and that is that the students have no idea what is going
on or have no clue as to the purpose of the lesson.
What I realize now is that these teachers simply need to clarify the goals of their lessons, or as we have studied in this class they need to improve
their ability to set SMART goals. Neihart (2008) states that "Goals focus our attention by directing it activities that are relevant to the task and away
from activities that are irrelevant" (p60.). This is so true when

The Movie ' Straight Outta Compton ' Directed By F. Gary Gray
Stats show that "80% civilians who were shot but not fatally injured and 78% of those killed were minorities" (Where is Social work). Reading these
stats, one would think that these stats are from today's world. However, that quote was from an article published in 1981; showing that America has not
changed for the better for minorities. In the film Straight Outta Compton, directed by F. Gary Gray is a biopic film about the rise to fame and demise of
the highly controversial hip–hop group N.W.A(Niggaz Wit Attitudes). Depicting the lives of its members, Straight Outta Compton address the issues
that were facing America during that period of time; most of them racial issues. The film addresses issues such as Capitalism in terms of the group's
manager Jerry Heller and the Recording Company's representative. The film also briefly touches upon the misogyny in the hip–hop industry and the
treatment of women while omitting some scenes. And finally, the biggest issue facing America at the time and currently, Police brutality. The film
shows the audiences how the group was treated because of their skin color and their financial/living situation. For these reasons, the film Straight Outta

Installing A High Price Tag
It 's said that bathrooms and kitchens are what sell houses. This is in large part because renovations on these rooms carry a higher price tag. Whether
fixing up a kitchen to improve the sale price of a home or remodeling to meet personal tastes, some smart shopping has the potential to save thousands
while still creating a high–end look. Odd Lots and Closeouts As home dГ©cor trends change, companies who manufacture everything from light
fixtures to floor tiles discontinue some merchandise to make way for newer styles. Shopping for clearance prices on closeout items may garner
savings of 75% or more off of retail prices. Keep in mind that discontinued items are available in limited quantities. When purchasing items such as
wall coverings or floor coverings, take accurate measurements and be sure to purchase enough to finish the entire job. Also remember that sales on
discontinued items are often final, so avoid purchasing in excess. As with fashion, home dГ©cor lines usually introduce new styles in the spring and
fall. These time of year are prime times for closeout shopping. However, many home improvement stores change their inventory throughout the year,
marking items at clearance prices to clear out shelf space for other products. Shopping frequently at many different stores will likely turn up a wider
array of products at the bet possible prices. Slightly Irregular Merchandise Companies that sell high–end merchandise put all products through rigorous

Essay on THE NWA
N.W.A (an abbreviation of Niggaz Wit Attitudes)[1][2][3] was an American hip hop group from Compton, California, widely considered one of the
seminal acts of the gangsta rap and west coast hip hop sub–genres, sometimes credited as the most important group in the history of rap music.[4]
Active from 1986 to 1991, the rap group endured controversy due to the explicit lyrics that many considered to be disrespectful to women, and
glorifying drugs and crime. The group was subsequently banned from many mainstream American radio stations. In spite of this, the group has sold
over 10 million units in the United States alone.

However, the taboo nature of N.W.A's music was the most important factor of its mass appeal. Media coverage compensated for N.W.A's lack of
airplay and their album eventually went double platinum.[16] One month after Straight Outta Compton, Eazy–E's solo debut Eazy–Duz–It was released.
The album was dominated by Eazy's persona–MC Ren was the only guest rapper–but behind the scenes it was a group effort. Music was handled by Dr.
Dre and DJ Yella; the lyrics were largely written by MC Ren, with contributions from Ice Cube and The D.O.C. The album was another double
platinum success for Ruthless[17] (in addition to girl group J.J. Fad in 1988 and singer Michel'le in 1989). 1989 saw the re–issue of N.W.A and the
Posse and Straight Outta Compton on CD, and the release of The D.O.C.'s No One Can Do It Better. His album was essentially a collaboration with

Tupac's application of the eternal theme of the struggle between good and evil to the cycle of prey vs. predator that is showcased in "Hail Mary" is
unique and incorporates heart, mind, body and soul. Tupac explores the catch 22 of falling prey to evil if choosing to become a predator in order to

are rewiring the parts of your brain by connecting neurons. The older we get, the easier it is to allow ourselves to fall into patterns. We know a
certain route to get to a destination and more often than not we follow the same route rather than look for a new way. There is nothing wrong with
that, but if you take measures to always stay on the hunt for learning, you will create a healthier future for yourself. The Rubik's cube is the perfect

A frozen, yummy treat on a hot, sunny day can be fun and easy to make. I was watching a video on YouTube about making popsicles. You are
about to learn how to make a popsicle and what you'll need to make your yummy treat. First, an empty cup, juice of your choice, plastic wrap, and
popsicle sticks. To begin, pour the juice in the cup. Leave space at the top empty. Next, take enough plastic wrap to fold over the cup. Tape down
the sides of the plastic wrap to the sides of the cup. Finally, gently poke the popsicle stick into the plastic wrap and into the drink. You can tape the
part of the popsicle stick sticking out to the plastic wrap. To continue, put your popsicle in the freezer. Juice usually takes 2 to 4 hours to freeze in a

Niggaz With Attitude
N.W.A. (Niggaz With Attitude) emerged in Compton, California, they were a hip
–hop based group that was widely considered as one of the seminal
acts of the gangster rap sub–genre of hip–hop. The group was active from 1986 to 1991 and endured controversy due to their explicit nature of their
lyrics (6). The things they said in their music was of a shocker to society or mostly to their white listeners. These explicit lyrics were not supposed to
be said out loud in public, let alone in music. During their time, they were banned from many mainstream U.S. radio stations, prevented from touring,
and faced obstacles from the police (6). N.W.A. originally consisted of artists Eazy E, Ice Cube, Dr. Dre, MC Ren, DJ Yella, and Arabian Prince. With

When "Fuck tha Police" released it developed a media storm, which resulted in a warning letter from the FBI to the group's distributor, Priority
Records (1). This song was a protest targeted at the Los Angeles police. Protesting police brutality and racial profiling. The song itself expressed
the approval of violence against police. The songs main vocals were Ice Cube, Eazy E, and MC Ren. With Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, and The D.O.C.
doing the intro. The rest of the group, except DJ Yella, incorporated 3 skits throughout the song with a cop being added to these skits. The hook in
itself, explicitly repeats "Fuck tha police!," as the song is titled. This song is a part of their album "Straight Outta Compton." This song tells about the
case of N.W.A. versus the police department and Ice Cube testifying first, which is the group rapping the testimony. The testimony; song, tells about
racial profiling towards the group and the police having the authority to do what they please to them. They go through searches and beatings from the
police. With MC Ren testifying next about his experience. Telling about the white majority having power over the rest, using violence against the
police, and not caring anymore. Then finally ending with Eazy E and his testimony. Which tells about him being exhausted of the treatment they
receive and saying the police is

Rube Goldberg Research Paper
Our challenge was to create a Rube Goldberg Machine that could ring a service bell. Additionally, we needed to document and turn in a team and
individual folder. Once we completed the evaluation of Rube Goldberg's life, cartoons, and machines, my team worked through the challenges of trying
to pull together as a team and create a successful project.
Rube Goldberg was an inventor, engineer, sculptor, author, and cartoonist. Born on July fourth, 1883 in San Francisco, California, Rube grew up in an
upper–middle–class family of Jewish heritage, and he had shown a love for the arts ever since a young age. At the age of four, Goldberg spent a lot
of time creating things and tracing drawings. Sadly, his mother died when he was a teenager and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He even won the Pulitzer Prize for his work as an editorial cartoonist. Rube Goldberg's cartoons depicted different types of complicated inventions. His
success as a cartoonist started when he became the San Francisco Bulletin's sports cartoonist. This point in time was when publishers began to
recognize his work. Rube also became the co–founder of the National Cartoonists Society. It was an organization that showed the importance of
cartoons and cartoonists, which made Goldberg want to be apart of it. (rube–goldberg.com, n.d.). Ever since 1988, students have participated in the
Rube Goldberg MachineRube Goldberg machine contest that brings out the spirit of Goldberg and his unique cartoons (Raga, 2016). Rube Goldberg
noted that the machines were symbols of, "man's capacity for exiting maximum effort to accomplish minimal results" (O'Connor, 2015, A Simple
Task, para. 11). Over time, his cartoon inventions turned into real working machines, and millions of people became inspired. An excellent example of
what Goldberg's designs are and how they can operate is his famous self–operating napkin cartoon. It was a machine that used a chain reaction to
accomplish a simple task, and this was Rube Goldberg's vision for all the simple machines (National Center for Families Learning,

The World Of The Exhibition Is Urban Studies, Artists...
Through an obscure door, an arc–shaped and bright space appears upon. It seems to be hard to catch the points over space. Massive glass constitutes
a wall covering almost half of space, and sunshine penetrates into the gallery. It is pretty windy when I was visiting there, the shadow from clouds

Gangsta Culture And Cultural Resistance
For the longest time art has been a tool for expressing one's self, passion, anger, pain, grief, or even resistance. Cultural resistance, as Stephen
Duncombe claims, can "provide a sort of 'free space' for developing ideas and practices" (S. Duncombe 5). There have been multiple theorists trying to
identify what depicts a subcultural group as culturally resistant. Cultural resistance can take different forms and can be expressed via different media
depending on the subcultural group. Some theorists also identify cultural resistance as a form of political resistance (p. 6). The Gangsta Culture is a

Essay On Rubik's Cube
Background Rubik's cube is a toy puzzle designed by ErnГ¶ Rubik during the mid– 1970s. It is a cube– shaped toy consisting of smaller cube pieces,
called "cubies" with 6 faces possessing contrasting colors. This rather primitive–looking phenomenon was exceptionally popular during the 1980s, and
peaking in 1980 and 1983 with around 200 million cubes sold worldwide. Even sales today continue to exceed 500,000 sales worldwide each year,
consequently earning the title "the best–selling toy of all time".("How Rubik's Cube") Seen as an object of art, the Rubik's Cube brilliance is perceived
to reside in its ability to embody and symbolize the evident contrasts in the human conditions: simplicity and complexity, order and mayhem,
bewilderment and comprehension, as Ernö remarks.(Davis) Comparably, these traits can be observed when examining the most integral parts of the
cube: its history, design and mechanics, and mathematical applications. History Puzzle makers have been creating complications and presenting
adversities for people to solve and overcome... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Around 1983, however, the popularity of the cube began to die down and sales slowed drastically. That was because the cube stayed in small scale
production, but that changed when Seven Towns took over the marketing, and licensed the Rubik Cube to the Oddzon Company for the United States
in 1995. Since then, sales have steadily increased to over 500,000 units a year. ("How Rubik's Cube") Moreover, in 1980, the cube won the
prestigious German Game of the Year award and similar decorations in France, Britain, and the United States. Also, books covering the cube were
simultaneously on the New York Times best–seller list. Finally, today, with more than 350 million cubes sold and at least one billion imitations in
circulation, it is the best–selling toy of all–time and a true cultural icon that will forever be recognized.

A Master Of The Rubik 's Cube
If you or I were to choose a random toy, from a random child's toy collection, it is more likely that a Rubik's Cube would be chosen than any other toy.
In other words, the Hungarian originated cube is the best–selling toy in history ("The History of the Rubik's Cube."), so the actuality that I became
infatuated with the gadget was somewhat likely. In what I believed at this stage in my life to be the most prestigious honor possible, I set out to
become a master of the Rubik's cube. My goal, as well as the toy itself, would have never had been possible if it were not for a man named ErnЕ‘
Rubik. The Rubik's Cube credited inventor was born in 1944, in Budapest, Hungary. Rubik attended the Budapest University of Technology and
Economics, and studied to become an educator, and also studied architecture. It is noted that Rubik "was always looking for new, more exciting
ways to present information." It was 30 years after his birth that he began experimenting with this goal and accidentally created the impossible; a
solid cube (originally made of wood!) that would not fall apart if twisted or turned. Rubik added colorful stickers. It took him well over a month to
generate a solution that would solve the puzzle every time, and less than a year later, he patented the cube, and gave it its original name, the "Magic
Cube". Fast forward twenty–four months later, and the toy was first sold in a Budapest toyshop. ("The History of the Rubik's Cube.") The cube caught
the eye of Tom Kremer.

United and Marvel are multi billion dollar companies and are hard to understand or feel pity for. That is understandable. No matter how upset far
left liberals get, it will take a miracle to topple these giants. What people can relate to and still understand is the plight of Sean Spicer's idiocy. In a
White House press conference; Sean Spicer was asked about Syrian chemical weapons. Part of his response was "Hitler never stooped to the level
of using chemical weapons." Of course he did. Everyone knows that Adolf Hitler very famously gassed the Jewish population in one of the biggest
genocides in world history. This was a massive blunder. Even when given a chance to correct himself, Sean Spicer just bumbled about and said a
string of words that barely made a cohesive sentence. As President Trump's appointed Press Secretary, Spicer has a job to make statements for the
President directly to the press. Once the video of this hit the internet, liberals took it and ran. The liberal outrage machine accused Spicer of trying
to erase the holocaust. By denying the use of chemical weapons, the Trump supporters were somehow standing in solidarity with nazis across time
and across the world. Of course erasure of history is a big deal and if Spicer was actively trying to have the press forget the holocaust, then the backlash
would be deserved. Instead Spicer is just a simple fool. He most likely misspoke and was caught up in trying to spin a

Film Analysis Of Gleaming The Cube
Oof. What happened? This episode starts well enough, with Cooper hitting the alarm and immediately reaching for the tape recorder. Even if the
show had never actually featured this scene it would be pretty easy to guess that that was how he started his day. It also has a neat little directorial
flourish in the same scene, with Coop hanging upside down and finally spotting Audrey 's letter. That kind of touch is why you bring in the director of

Now that 's more like it. Dismissing the b–team, Harley Peyton and Robert Engels turn in a script that Lesli Linka Glatter directs in full Twin Peaks
style. Super Nadine 's still around and Van Dohlen 's still overemoting but it all fits together much better. Could the set presence of the occasional
character actor playing Gordon Cole have made a difference? Who 's to say?
But there 's definitely improvement between the last episode and this one, which wrings more drama from a muted confrontation between Cooper and
Horne over Audrey 's semi–conscious body than the last episode got out of some hardcore undercover police action and Blackie 's unexpected murder.
Cooper 's scenes with Horne bristle with tension and MacLachlan is in particularly fine form this time out, whether lamenting past mistakes or helping
to conduct the weird, episode–ending chemically induced sГ©ance.
More on that in a bit. But first, some farewells. Josie says goodbye to both Horne and Truman, showing her dark side in one scene and her good

Tennis Balloon Research Paper
Currently, all tennis balls are packaged in cylinders which hold four balls. Although this is an innovative idea, there is a lot of wasted space in the
cylinders and in the square box that it is packaged in. In this investigation, another idea for a container will be shown with a list of advantages and
disadvantages. The aim is to create a new container for tennis balls that has a comparable surface area and wasted space to that of the cylinder containers
currently used. Another container that could be used instead of a cylinder is a rectangular prism as shown below. This investigation will use

This assumption was proven to be incorrect as the wasted space was calculated to be much over 4000cm3. Another assumption made was that the

wasted space would exist. As shown in the previous working out, there was no wasted space in the square box with the rectangular prisms. A final
assumption made in part A was the dimensions of the cylindrical container. In part B, it was presumed that the points would be scattered loosely around
the line of best fit. After creating the scatter plot, it was understood that the points were closely scattered around the line of best fit and a realisation that
there could be a formula to calculate the results quicker was brought into consideration. Also, another assumption was that the amount of wasted space
would not be a significant amount. After calculating, it was notable that the wasted space was more than half of the volume of the

Ice Melting Experiment and Analysis

Objective
The objective of this experiment is to test the melting point of ice against different variables. I will use a control of ice against air and test this next to
ice in water, sugar on ice, salt on ice and Baking Soda on ice. By measuring the melting time of each element on an ice cube I will be able to tell which
element affects ice's melting properties at what rate.
Everyday we use chemical mixtures to melt ice that affects our roadways. A lot of these chemical mixtures are harmful to our waterways, and can
pollute the environment. I ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
* Record your results * Measure the remaining mass of the ice cubes, and record your results. * Repeat this test three times for each substance used.
Reasoning
The purpose of this experiment is to measure the reaction of the ice melting when exposed to another solid element. The environment is a kitchen with
a stable temperature and testing space. Repeating the tests three times will provide different data which will then be averaged for each element. For
each test, calculate the percentage of the ice cube melted by [mass of melt water/initial mass of ice cube] x 100.
Sequence of Events
I started with controlling my experiment environment. It was in a still kitchen, with no appliances running to minimize humidity and control the room
temperature. I then broke my ice cube tray and finding cubes that weight .10grams. I set up my timer for each station. I put three–.10gram ice cubes in
a identical contained on top of the pre measured ВЅ teaspoon of sugar, salt and baking soda, then I hit start on the timer. When the timer hit 15
minutes I picked up each ice cube and put it on another dry identical dish. I then measured the melted liquid, followed by measuring the melted ice
cube alone. I repeated this three times to get an average.

Does Salt make Ice melt Faster?
Project Plan
Salt is known to be used on icy roads in certain areas of the country in the winter season to help clear roadways to make them safer for travel. Salt
causes a reaction that lowers the freezing point of water. In this experiment we will test this method of applying salt to ice to see if for certain this is
true, and how much faster the salt melts if so. In this experiment, the Independent Variable will be adding Salt to the ice and the Dependent variable
will be the time it takes the ice to melt.
The Plan is to use two ice cubes in separate containers, and add ice to only one of these. Each will be timed and observed for the duration it takes
both to melt, and data will be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
* Place one ice cube into each container. * One Ice cube will have nothing added to it. * To other Ice Cube add ВЅ tsp of salt (sprinkled over top). *
Start your timer(s). * Record how long it takes for each Ice Cube to melt completely, taking progress notes as you go. For instance, the percentage of
the ice cube that has melted at 5 minutes, 20 minutes, etc.
Reasoning
I chose this method to keep the two Ice cubes separated during the experiment, and to see the two individual results of adding salt, or adding nothing
to the ice. Keeping the Ice cubes separate allows no error in collecting data on each individual subject. Adding salt to one will not interfere with data
collected on the ice cube melting with no additives. Some studies were very similar, but most used many different substances to test how quickly Ice
would melt. These included for instance Sugar, and Sand.
Sequence of Events:
The experiment will start with two ice cubes. One will have nothing added to it, the other will have ВЅ tsp of salt sprinkled over it. Each will be
separate on two different plates/containers. Time will be kept with a stopwatch, and notes will be taken throughout the experiment on the percentage of
ice that has melted at certain points in time.
Tools

BONDING THROUGH EXILE:
An Analysis of Mise–en–ScГЁne in Let the Right One In
The theme of loneliness and isolation has been predominant in cinema since its inception, but Tomas Alfredson explores the idea in a unique way in
his 2008 Swedish romantic horror film, Let the Right One In. Set in the snowy winter of Stockholm, the film depicts the similarly cold and depressing
life of Oskar, a young target of bullying. This frozen, barren setting contributes to the complete isolation that the viewer feels with the characters.
Through strategic shot composition and specific color and mood choices, Alfredson shows how both Oskar and Eli are cut off from the world in
different ways, and then how their common bloodlust brings them together. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The camera slowly pans around the playground, showing the bland walls of the apartment complex surrounding it to amplify their sense of
overwhelming loneliness. Oskar, wanting to find a companion in Eli, provides her with his rubik's cube to solve. The rubik's cube can also be seen
as Eli providing an answer to Oskar's problems. Both his life and his rubik's cube are puzzles that need solving, and Eli literally drops in to solve
everything for him. This early scene sets the tone for the rest of the movie and establishes both the characters as lonely outcasts that need to be saved.
As the relationship between Oskar and Eli continues to blossom, Oskar finds out that Eli lives off blood to survive. After this realization, there is a
scene where Eli arrives at Oskar's house. Oskar attempts to let her in by motioning and gesturing but she refuses to cross the threshold. She finally
enters without his permission, causing her to bleed from every opening on her face, turning her into a grotesque image of her true vampiric form.
This causes Oskar to give her permission to enter. This scene symbolizes the finality of the relationship between Oskar and Eli. Eli is a violent
murderer, and Oskar has violent ambitions, and this is the moment where Eli attempts to turn those ambitions into reality. The way the shots of Oskar
and Eli are composed suggest a

Descriptive Essay About Football
As I lay in the bag all around me is nothing but darkness and perfumed air. Though I know it has only been a week since I've been put in this bag it
feels like months waiting for the big game on Friday. I sit and wait for my time to shine when the blonde headed girl pulls me out of the bag, that is
my home and those bright lights hit me and make the yellow and black pieces of me sparkle. When I'm pulled from the bag the fresh air hits me and
makes me shiver with excitement. Friday has come and it is time to shine below the big ginormous lights. These nights spent in the palms of the blonde
headed girl; being shook while she cheers is exactly how I am supposed to spend my life. When the National Anthem comes on, she presses me to her
chest and as the music plays, nothing but the sound of her heart beat plays in my head. The game starts with Monroe winning the coin toss and
choosing to receive the ball. As the team goes on to the field for kick off I shake in the air with excitement ready for the game to begin. The stands
are on their feet ready for the game to begin. The football is kicked and all I can do is shake. The home team runs down the field and makes a
touchdown in the first twenty seconds. I am back into the air waiting for the home team to kick off. The game is so exciting my blonde headed
owner and the rest of the girls keep doing cheers and shaking us all around tell before I know it, it is half time and time for me to take a rest before
the second half. The

The Rubik's Cube
How Architecture found Cubes
The Rubik's cube, invented by Erno Rubik, is famously known as the "Impossible" puzzle.
It was during the summer of my 7th grade that I first stumbled upon the Rubik's cube. The Rubik's cube is a cube with different colors on all sides.
The goal is to be able to return the original look of the cube, with all the edges and corners corresponding to the center color of each face. People
seem to think the cube is made out of 27 cubes, but it is actually made of a core. The other pieces fit in with the core to give the look of multiple cubes
grouped together.
I remembered the day vividly when I held the glamorous box with the Qi Yi BullFight (Name of the Rubik's Cube) inside. The cube felt special, it
was an experience I had never encountered. Perfect. Made with care. I momentarily observed the cube, six sides, all with their beautifully covered ...

Architecture is the design of a building, just like the bones that make up the structure of a human being, and the way it forms as a basis for a
design. The Rubik's cube is the pencil I use for drawing. The pencil is occasionally used, and sometimes, left alone. When I am focused, I can solve
my difficulties, calm and controlled. Nevertheless, I can draw my imagination, however hard it maybe. However, when I am inattentive, it seems like
a brick wall is stopping me from my solution. Although this pencil may cause me to stress out, it can also encourage me to try harder, and seek out the
hidden solution even with the massive brick wall in the way. My love of architecture connects with the cube because solving problems in puzzles is
just like thinking through and designing something. In addition, whenever I open my vision to the many designs in the world, it brings me back to the
Rubik's cube and architecture. The many designs act like the algorithms in the cube, you sometimes make errors, and you sometimes

A Modern Day Minstrel Show

  • 1. A Modern Day Minstrel Show It is clear that our country 's criminal justice system is the new Jim Crow; with a huge majority of felons being African American, it is obvious that people of color have it harder when it comes to crime sentences. We must acknowledge that mass incarceration and the Jim Crow era are greatly similar. Minstrel shows, which showed black men to be lazy, dumb, and clownish, once justified the oppression of african americans. Many now believe that gangsta rap does just the same and is the modern day minstrel show, by portraying blacks to be drug dealers, angry, and violent men. Though many people believe that gangsta rap reinforces these stereotypes, it's important for one to realize that this form of expression is not a modern day version of blackface performances. Blackface performances were popular in American theaters for roughly 100 years, beginning around the 1830's. In 1950's blackface minstrel shows, white and black performers were not able to share the stage therefore they opted to paint their faces black with polish. These "black" characters were always portrayed as either villains or comedic. Blackface had been used to make arguments for slavery and why African Americans should not be given full human rights. These are narratives created by white men that were made to oppress and dehumanize an entire race of people. The minstrel show clip titled "Cotton and Chick Watts Blackface Minstrel Show Comedy" we are shown a very degrading performance put on by two white ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 2. Personal Identity : Personal Essay : My Identity The most difficult thing to tell anyone about me is my identity, not that there's much there. It's the fact that I'm a privileged white male; I have no history. The only thing about me is that I'm different than everyone else. But isn't everybody? Many people say they're a cat in a dog world, a fish swimming among sharks. But the reality is that yes, you are different, but everybody else is too. You are unique; everybody is. Most would say I'm idiosyncratic, a stupidly complicated synonym for weird. I do the same things as everybody else, but in my own way. For instance, in elementary school, I read around 100 books, I used to knit, I can juggle, solve a rubik's cube and so much more. When I was around five to twelve years old, I made things nonstop. Whether it was an origami Darth Vaderto a PVC bow and arrow. I did this whenever I had spare time. Sometimes whole days (2–7 hours) would be spent just making things. I would either go online and look up how to make something, or I would wing it and do it with no guidelines. I think I loved doing this so much because I hate being bored. The sounds of cutting and sanding, the smells of sawdust, the feel of polished wood, and the image of the finished project looming in your mind are all things I've come to love. One day I got this game, Portal 2. I played it a bunch, then decided to make the portal gun (a gun that shot portals) from the game. For a long time I searched for a template, not finding any. It was a few days later that I found one. It was a paper craft; something created fully out of paper. I spent a little bit deliberating whether I would actually build it, as it as fifty–two pages. I decided to print it. Ten minutes later, I took that paper and got to work. The first page looked extremely tedious to cut. It had a seemingly infinite amounts of points and curves, taunting me, saying I couldn't do it. So I whipped out my scissors and got to it. Another ten minutes later, the first page had been cut. I started to fold the pieces, then realized I didn't know how to put them together. I looked online for anything but found nothing, so I just decided to wing it. For a few months I kept cutting and taping. There were countless times when I cut a piece wrong ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Make sure you keep the outline of the lid 3.Later place the ice cream container inside of the box. 10.Then, you can choose to ... His Brother Called him that as a joke because he was trying to be cool with the ladies and he liked it so much he began to tell everyone in the hood and that's how he became Ice Cube. He has pleased and helped many with his art work and confidence. You might thinkIce Cube is just a gangster rapper and actor but, he is so much greater than just that. • 6. Difference Between The Entertainment And Media Culture The Entertainment and Media Culture Cherie Belcher HUM/186 12/18/2017 Allyson Wells The Entertainment and Media Culture There are many different forms of entertainment media that has made an impact on the American culture. However, the one I feel that has made the biggest impact on American culture is the music industry. I say that because, if you look at the music from the 50's and the 60's, the music was smooth, it spoke to the teens and the adults in a certain way, the kids danced in a calm manner, they danced in a respectful manner. In the 70's and 80's, the music took on a distinctive style, therefore, the dances and the clothing took on a different style. The clothing began to show body parts, the stomach was the main part that showed. In the 50's and 60's you just did not do that. You kept your body covered. When the music changed, the kids changed. In the 80's and 90's, it took on more of a drastic change. Rap came on the scene, as well as, the disco era. When this era came about, the kids changed even more. Their clothing, haircuts, and even their language changed. It got to be such a drastic change where men were wearing makeup and as much jewelry as the women were. Then came the Gangsta Rap, which brought about the gang scene. Everybody was wearing their clothes extra big and baggy. • 11. Ice Cube ( O ' Shea Jackson Gangsta rap originated in the late 1980's. "Ice Cube (O 'Shea Jackson) of the rap group NWA (Niggaz with Attitude) wrote the song "Gangsta Gangsta," and it shocked America with its violent, sexist, and obscene lyrics. "Gangsta Gangsta" ushered in a new genre of hip–hop music called gangsta rap, which became identified with Compton, a predominately black and Latino working–class and working poor neighborhood in Los Angeles". Many people did not agree with the sexist and indecent lyrics in gangsta rap even though the lyrics were telling the story of many people who lived in this reality. "Gangsta rap acted as an outlet so such people could express themselves angrily and not in fear that they were going to be silenced for telling the truth. They often used gangsta rap to tell the stories of their lives, which sometimes included strong violence, hypersexuality, and drug abuse." This music style was new and different. Gangsta rap was authentic and helped tell a story with its deep lyrics. "During the 1990s, Republican and Democratic politicians and some black leaders blamed, not all hip–hop music, but gangsta rap for all of the black communities ' social problems: drug use, teenage pregnancy, unemployment, gang violence, and high school dropouts. Even though these problems existed in the black community prior to gangsta rap, this music and culture has provided a convenient target to avoid addressing the causes of the real problems of black America: racism, sexism, and poverty". ... My Reflection On My Current Position In my current position I have the unique opportunity to visit all kinds of classes at a variety of times throughout the day and during these visits I have seen the whole spectrum of lessons being taught. One of the most amazing things I have learned is that usually within minutes of entering a classroom; I can instantly tell how a lesson is going for a teacher. If the students are engaged and actively learning or are involved in an activity, it becomes very evident through their facial expressions to me, that the lesson is going well and learning is taking place. On the other hand, if when I enter the room the students give me that look of "please help us", I can tell things aren't going well and something is amiss in the lesson. When I see this my curiosity usually gets the best of me and if I see these students later in the day or have a moment during the time I am in the classroom I try to talk to them to find out what was going on. It is amazing to me how there is usually a common thread and that is that the students have no idea what is going on or have no clue as to the purpose of the lesson. What I realize now is that these teachers simply need to clarify the goals of their lessons, or as we have studied in this class they need to improve their ability to set SMART goals. Neihart (2008) states that "Goals focus our attention by directing it activities that are relevant to the task and away from activities that are irrelevant" (p60.). This is so true when ... • 27. Gangsta Culture And Cultural Resistance For the longest time art has been a tool for expressing one's self, passion, anger, pain, grief, or even resistance. Cultural resistance, as Stephen Duncombe claims, can "provide a sort of 'free space' for developing ideas and practices" (S. Duncombe 5). There have been multiple theorists trying to identify what depicts a subcultural group as culturally resistant. Cultural resistance can take different forms and can be expressed via different media depending on the subcultural group. Some theorists also identify cultural resistance as a form of political resistance (p. 6). • 28. Essay On Rubik's Cube Background Rubik's cube is a toy puzzle designed by ErnГ¶ Rubik during the mid– 1970s. It is a cube– shaped toy consisting of smaller cube pieces, called "cubies" with 6 faces possessing contrasting colors. This rather primitive–looking phenomenon was exceptionally popular during the 1980s, and peaking in 1980 and 1983 with around 200 million cubes sold worldwide. Even sales today continue to exceed 500,000 sales worldwide each year, consequently earning the title "the best–selling toy of all time".("How Rubik's Cube") Seen as an object of art, the Rubik's Cube brilliance is perceived to reside in its ability to embody and symbolize the evident contrasts in the human conditions: simplicity and complexity, order and mayhem, bewilderment and comprehension, as ErnГ¶ remarks.(Davis) Comparably, these traits can be observed when examining the most integral parts of the cube: its history, design and mechanics, and mathematical applications. That was because the cube stayed in small scale production, but that changed when Seven Towns took over the marketing, and licensed the Rubik Cube to the Oddzon Company for the United States in 1995. Since then, sales have steadily increased to over 500,000 units a year. ("How Rubik's Cube") Moreover, in 1980, the cube won the prestigious German Game of the Year award and similar decorations in France, Britain, and the United States. Also, books covering the cube were simultaneously on the New York Times best–seller list. Finally, today, with more than 350 million cubes sold and at least one billion imitations in circulation, it is the best–selling toy of all–time and a true cultural icon that will forever be recognized. ... In other words, the Hungarian originated cube is the best–selling toy in history ("The History of the Rubik's Cube."), so the actuality that I became infatuated with the gadget was somewhat likely. In what I believed at this stage in my life to be the most prestigious honor possible, I set out to become a master of the Rubik's cube. My goal, as well as the toy itself, would have never had been possible if it were not for a man named ErnЕ‘ Rubik. The Rubik's Cube credited inventor was born in 1944, in Budapest, Hungary. Rubik attended the Budapest University of Technology and Economics, and studied to become an educator, and also studied architecture. It is noted that Rubik "was always looking for new, more exciting ways to present information." It was 30 years after his birth that he began experimenting with this goal and accidentally created the impossible; a solid cube (originally made of wood!) that would not fall apart if twisted or turned. Rubik added colorful stickers. It took him well over a month to generate a solution that would solve the puzzle every time, and less than a year later, he patented the cube, and gave it its original name, the "Magic Cube". Fast forward twenty–four months later, and the toy was first sold in a Budapest toyshop. ("The History of the Rubik's Cube.") The cube caught the eye of Tom Kremer. ... In a White House press conference; Sean Spicer was asked about Syrian chemical weapons. Part of his response was "Hitler never stooped to the level of using chemical weapons." Of course he did. Everyone knows that Adolf Hitler very famously gassed the Jewish population in one of the biggest genocides in world history. This was a massive blunder. Even when given a chance to correct himself, Sean Spicer just bumbled about and said a string of words that barely made a cohesive sentence. As President Trump's appointed Press Secretary, Spicer has a job to make statements for the President directly to the press. Once the video of this hit the internet, liberals took it and ran. The liberal outrage machine accused Spicer of trying to erase the holocaust. By denying the use of chemical weapons, the Trump supporters were somehow standing in solidarity with nazis across time and across the world. Of course erasure of history is a big deal and if Spicer was actively trying to have the press forget the holocaust, then the backlash would be deserved. Instead Spicer is just a simple fool. Even if the show had never actually featured this scene it would be pretty easy to guess that that was how he started his day. It also has a neat little directorial flourish in the same scene, with Coop hanging upside down and finally spotting Audrey 's letter. That kind of touch is why you bring in the director of Gleaming The Cube, isn 't it? By measuring the melting time of each element on an ice cube I will be able to tell which element affects ice's melting properties at what rate. Repeating the tests three times will provide different data which will then be averaged for each element. For each test, calculate the percentage of the ice cube melted by [mass of melt water/initial mass of ice cube] x 100. Sequence of Events I started with controlling my experiment environment. In this experiment we will test this method of applying salt to ice to see if for certain this is true, and how much faster the salt melts if so.
