The guitar solo provided more emotional support to the lyrics of the song. It wasn't loud and it wasn't soft. It was right in the middle. The song had
a medium tempo and the dynamic of the song is soft to high and then back to soft. Because of the soothing and soft to high dynamic of the song
with the guitar producing the support, you feel the emotions the song is trying to provide. Most of the lyrics are repeated in song and the main
vocalist said this line ("I don't want to leave her now. You know I believe and how") throughout the song, which is the main idea behind the song.
The main idea the song is trying to portray is how there's something special in the person he loves and he can't let her go. He said "Attracts me like
no other lover" and" That I don't need no other lover" which means the girl he loves is irreplaceable. The lyrics of this song are relatable to everyone
because it's about love. It's not something we can see or touch but it's an emotion that we all can feel and express at any given

The Four Seasons: Song Analysis
For this assignment, I decided to compare two songs that describe a very special (and usually very awkward) time in one's sexual journey–losing your
virginity. My modern selection is "Wet Dreamz" by J. Cole, an up and coming artist. This song was released in April 2015 and became one of the
rapper's top hits. My throwback song selection was "December, 1963 (Oh, What a Night)" by The Four Seasons, which was released in December
1975. These songs describe the myriad of feelings and emotions that coincide with one's first time, as well as gives a look into the ways sexuality and
the ways in which talking about it have changed over the decades.
For starters, both songs open the same way:
J. Cole: "Man, it wasn't nothin' like that first, time"...show more content...
J. Cole describes losing his virginity as a unique, once–in–a–lifetime, experience. The Four Seasons openly state it as a special time, one that is
unforgettable. I'm sure this is generalizable to many people across many eras.
The second similarity I found was the way in which the artists described their partners:
J. Cole: "Cause when I seen 'em thighs on her and them hips on her and them lips on her, got me daydreaming, man what"
The Four Seasons: "Hypnotizing, mesmerizing me. She was everything I dreamed she'd be. Sweet surrender, what a night"
Whereas both artists are describing the overwhelming beauty and attraction they feel towards their partners and how they've dreamed about her, the
way they do so and the terminology they use is vastly different. The way J. Cole emphasizes the female's physical attributes reflects modern society and
its emphasis on outer beauty and curvy features. The Four Seasons lyrics leave room for more interpretation, allowing the listeners to imagine the
female in their own definition of beauty and what they find attractive. One thing that still rings the same, however, is the rush of adrenaline and mixed
emotions of excitement and nervousness that usually accompanies one's first

Social inadequacy is an aspect of life that many in today's world consider a matter of great importance. There is a constant "war" for the apex
position on the social hierarchy that has been created as a result of mankind's strict focus on society. An indie pop band by the name of Fun. have
taken this concern and made it the subject of a song called Some Nights. This song depicts and acknowledges the existence of a social hierarchy and
the world's fixation on reaching the top of it. This song also demonstrates the Marxist theory which states that one's self–conscious is determined by
one's social existence. Simply put, with little social power, one cannot be sure of whom they are. Furthermore, this song illustrates...show more content...
He acknowledges his lips' potential at dictating society, and how they will influence other areas where power is present. Let's be honest, how many
times have we heard of people who are virtually unknown to the world suddenly come to power in a number of areas? Exactly. You can count them
on your fingers. This is one of the reasons for mankind's dependence on social adequacy. In order to gain power in many areas, you must have first
acquired power in society, the greatest power of all. Climbing up this non–existent, intangible social ladder, Karl Marx's theory on the self–conscious'
dependence on social existence and the power of social omnipotence in external affairs are all examples of how this world has taken a Marxist turn in
not–so–recent years. Social adequacy seems to be everything now. All in all, this Marxist world of ours is subject to what society deems important or
suitable in our lives. The sad truth is that this aspect is so deeply imbued within our lives that it has become a sub–conscious thing to mind our actions
in every way; just so that we may get that much more social or gain that much more status. In everything,, everywhere there are Marxist inferences. In
politics, in school, at work...even at home! In all honesty, have you ever completely not cared about your place in society, even sub–consciously?

Song Analysis : Alright By Kendrick Lamar
In "Alright" Kendrick Lamar is speaking to the public about police brutality, or is he sending a deeper message to the people of minority. Kendrick
Lamar released the song titled "Alright" in 2015. Upon release the song instantly blew up. It 's catchy and even though people got tongue tied trying
to recite the song everyone knew the hook of the song which stated "We gon be alright do you hear me do you feel me we gon be alright." I wonder
did anyone catch the poetic verses Kendrick was saying before the hook. By simply watching the video you instantly think oh police brutality but I
recieved a deeper message. I believe Kendrick wanted the song to inform the public about the brutality that seemed to be continuous at the time; and
offer a bit of hope to those who didn't feel there was any. That's why the song was so famous, Kendrick performed this song on numerous award
shows and talk shows because the people needed to hear it. Though some believe the song is in protest against cops or sending a bad message others
believe it is an anthem for african americans. I do believe that Kendrick targeted the African American population with the song but the song could be
for all races and minorities. I don't think the song excluded anyone. Police brutality can happen to any race and it has happened to just about every race.
African Americans just have been the most talked about and more frequently abused lately. Kendrick doesn't put himself upon a pedestal or imply that
he's above

Personal Essay: Song Analysis
My passion for music really didn't kick in until I wrote my first song. I had been playing guitar for about 6 years, but until my pen hit the paper I
never experienced how cathartic music can be. It allowed me to escape from the crazy and stressful world and bleed everything I was feeling onto
the page or over the strings. I have written close to 40 songs and each one has a special place in my heart for a specific time in my life. The stories
I tell in my songs allow me to step into the shoes of someone else, or perhaps make my own fit just a little more snug. I like to find energetic riffs
and sometimes quirky lyrics that inspire me to look at life a differently or find value in things or moments that are normally overlooked. As I build my
following I hope to give listeners what my songs have given me–a three minute hiatus from everything else. Hopefully that three minutes can last them

I transferred here to pursue music after completing three years of a biology degree at Bethel University in Minnesota. Through Bethel, I did a music
study abroad program in Nashville that changed my life and connected me with my true passion. My faith is really what fueled me these past few
years. It has influenced me to take life with open arms, to relax, and to remember that God's got me. I like to use the idea of guidance and
perseverance as a common theme in a lot of my writing. Its important for people to fight for what they want while trusting in the larger plan, and with

Essay on Morning Song Analysis
Morning Song В– Sylvia Plath Morning Song, by Sylvia Plath, was written in February 1961, the same month she suffered a miscarriage. Morning
Song, by Sylvia Plath, explores the physical and emotional links between a mother and child, and Plath's own growing maternal bond with her child.
In the poem, Plath is contemplating her relationship with her new child and it is clear she has mixed emotions of apprehension and awe. The
opening line of the poem introduces her first impressions of the child. "Love set you going like a fat gold watch." This immediately creates a positive
connection with the baby, as she uses the word "Love" as the origin of her child. The simile "fat gold watch" creates a somewhat confusing image of
the child,...show more content...
In both pieces she wishes to be detached from love and responsibility, yet as the poem progresses, she has a change of heart, almost an epiphany. The
next stanza moves on to talk about how Plath's apprehension stops her from bonding with he child with these lines: "I'm no more your mother / Than
the cloud that distills a mirror to reflect its own slow / Effacement at the wind's hand." Here Plath (the В‘cloud') is resenting giving birth to her image
as it reminds her of her own inevitable mortality. The child is the mirror, which reflects the dissipation of the cloud. Plath seems to then have a change
of heart. She creates a fragile, beautiful image of her child; "All night your moth–breath / Flickers among the flat pink roses." Use of consonance in
"moth–breath" and alliteration in the line "Flickers among the flat pink roses" constructs the soft sounds of the infant's breathing. It is interesting
how she utilises the flower imagery which is similar to her other poem, Tulips. In Tulips, the flowers bring her back from the state of detachment,
and here it is the baby's breath, soft as roses, the awakens her love for her child. The awakening of this love is expressed in the last lines of that
stanza; "I wake to listen: A far sea moves in my ear." However, she stills resents the newfound nocturnal annoyance, evident in how she describes
herself as "cow–heavy" as

The Message Song Analysis
The song "The message" by Grandmaster Flash and The Furious Five depicts the struggle of young black adults growing up in society. The
struggle to make it out of poverty can be compared to survival of the fittest in a jungle. Only the strong would survive and adapt to the changes to
fit in. Trying their best to make a betterment with whatever little society offers. Being a young black African American in the early 1980's was not
easy. It was easier to live the fast life and gain fast money by being part of the drug community. Drugs, guns, and money was glamorized and this is
what the young adults looked at as a means of getting rich. In the songs, a young man talks about how he is trying hard to hold on to the little bit of
sanity he has left in his soul. He talks about the struggle he endures while trying not to get pushed over the edge. He was born an innocent child who's
blind to the ways of mind kind. Growing up he faced many challenges and had to fight...show more content...
Despite all the hardships he faced he did not choose to be like the others in his community. Throughout the song he visually explain the life of the
young women and how they turn to selling their bodies as a means of making money. Although this may seem absurd, it was the life that many of
the women lived in order to feed themselves and their children. According to Crystal Endsley and Marla Jaksch Hip Hop has the ability to enact
social change because it is firmly connected to local youth, a source that the state does not generally reach. The global impact of Hip Hop as it relates
to East Africa and the struggles for equality and liberation begin with raising awareness within the masses. In the song, Grandmaster Flash tried to
bring awareness to the community in which he resides and he explores the struggle and fight to continue living in a poor

Mean By Taylor Swift: A Song Analysis
The reason I included this song is that when I was in elementary school I rode the bus to school and home from school. When I would ride the bus that
is when the kids would bully me on the way to school and that was an awful way to start the day with negative thoughts about myself, and then
throughout the day the bullying would continue. However, in about second grade after many days of coming home crying because of the mean kids
at school and on the bus, my parents got me an mP3 player and loaded a bunch of songs onto it. From that point on I would blast my music for the
entire bus ride, one of the songs that helped me to understand that I had not done anything to deserve the people who bullied me bullying me was

Michael Jackson – "Beat It"
In 2009, we lost one of the greatest entertainers in music history, however his music still lives on, inspiring and touching people's heart. I have
always been a fan of Michael Jackson, and the reason why I picked this song is because it presents a strong message. Not only did
Jackson make a powerful statement with his lyrics, he also made one with his choice of rhythm and beats. The guitars and drums that were used, give
the song a dramatic rock vibe. According to music critics Jackson's album Thriller seemed to be inspired by "a mixture of several genres which
previously were never combined" ( thrilleralbum). It is pretty obvious...show more content...
The second verse talks about making the right choice to just go away instead of shedding blood, and trying to be a tough guy. The third verse simply
describes that even if one chooses to walk away, it is better to be alive than to risk it. The fourth verse in my opinion talks about the consequences of
fighting and that if one chooses to be violent, chances are that they will get hurt.
As mentioned earlier the chorus defines to just walk away although "No One wants To Be
Defeated." It is better to go because in the end "It Doesn't Matter Who is Wrong Or Right."
Jackson uses very powerful words and explains that it is always best to look out for yourself instead of proving yourself to others. It is not worth the
struggle (songfacts).
As I was analyzing the song, I was listening for specific sounds and noises that would symbolize the meaning of the song. I heard a police siren
which could symbolize that if you get involved with gangs and violence, you will end up in jail. I also heard a snapping sound and deep breathing
sounds. The breathing sounds could represent the sound of someone running away and catching a breath. I could detect sounds as if someone was
getting punched and sounds of blades which could represent a fight. While searching for different meanings of the song I came across an interesting

Island Song Analysis
Most people can say that one of the most important things in life is happiness. Happiness is key to a worthy life. When you are happy, you go
about your day much better than if you are sad or angry. Happiness occurs internally but external factors such as music can always help. Music is
responsible for extracting certain emotions, such as happiness, in any listener. I chose to call my playlist "It's Going to Be a Good Day" because
everyone needs a playlist to start off their day right by listening to songs that instigate happiness. I chose this theme because personally I believe that
happiness is very important in my life. If I am not happy, then I cannot be efficient in the different things I do. By listening to these songs on this playlist

The lyrics of this song are uplifting and make the listener feel as if nothing can get in their way to reach their goal. This song is polyphonic because it
contains two voices accompanied by instrumentation. The tempo is upbeat and creating a feeling of happiness. The male voice's timbre is raspy and
soulful. The melody shows the sentiments that the two singers are promising each other during the chorus. The instrumentation included strings, which
gave the song a sweet and catch tone, and the drums gave a pulsating drums that keeps the song upbeat. While listening to the song I feel like I can
conquer the world and nothing can stop me from doing the things I want to do so the sense of power evolves into happiness

Personal Essay: Song Analysis
Listening to the lyrics of your favorite song you automatically start to have a connection with that song. Then the song starts to represent you and
your life because of the lyrics. Some songs show about being a fighter, having freedom, or just being you. There's a billion of songs out there and
there's a billion of people who connect with those songs. Usually the most common reason why some songs represent people is by their past
experience. For me some songs represent me because I decided to follow my dreams, living in the moment, and get right back up.
Being a teenager in high school you dream about having the same career as your friend or going to the same college as them but for me and my
friends it was reverse. They were more comfortable performing in a band, or acting, and singing. While I was more comfortable standing there and
give a speech than they were. But being a shy high schooler you rather be with your friends than by yourself. Listening to 'Social Casualty' changed my
thoughts. Just by hearing the lyrics I knew the song and I shared the same problem. I took my chance and signed up for my classes which was
entirely different than all my other friends. Even if I'm alone in a class I could always play this just to motivate me to follow my dreams than
someone else. The song represent me because I didn't want to be a follower in my...show more content...
Maybe that's why some songs represent me and my personality. These songs help me to just forget everything and to live in the moment. But being
with my friends help me have fun and to ignore any real world problems going on. Just listening to these songs with them helps us to have fun. Sure
I'm going to face some difficult problems some point in my life but those problems will have to wait. Even though time past by fast I still have time to
live my life and that's what the songs are teaching

Ed Sheeran, thinks of his music not just his song, but someone's first dance at a wedding or someone's late night feel. His lyrics can carry you right
into the story and can touch the lives of so many people. There are a lot of feelings behind his songs, he plays the guitar and it is like you can feel
the emotions being felt in the songs. A lot of people can relate to the stuff he sings about, his lyrics are powerful and it is one of a kind. It is from
his heart and his own experience. His songs always leave everyone with tears on their eyes or a smile on their face.
Every one of his songs has multiple purposes. His song "Photograph" is not just about fixing a relationship with your partner, it is more about

The trees willowed above the campers like fast moving water in a rapid. I consumed the words of the gospel as they flashed across the screen faster
than Usain Bolt in his 100–meter dash, the calming sound of the strumming guitar as it fills the room. I feel the crisp pages of my song book grace
my fingers as I open it to the first song. A dimly lit campfire glows against the campers' faces as they harmonize together in song. As we got done
singing we joined hands in prayer. I feel the slightly moist hands of my counselors and friends as we came together. I could smell the aroma of the

Music: Song Analysis
This song was started by having all the instruments introduced. Once the performers were introducing the instruments I was able to picture that this
song would be very unique and something I had not heard before. Once the list of instruments was finished the song started with the tin cans. The tin
cans were laid out in sets with three people playing them. The song starts with the same rhythm and tempo which is moderato. Then it changes to
andante. Then one person would stop and the three players would alternate between plays. One performer covers his tin cans with a black cloth and
the sound changes. The dynamics are piano and the tempo is adagio. While this is going on there are random beats of the bass drum. Once again there
is a major change...show more content...
I was not expecting the beginning of a piece to start out of nowhere. The piece starts with the tempo being allegro. Both performers stayed with the
constant rhythm and beat. The dynamics of the song were forte. The clapping of the hands created a very loud surrounding. Then the tempo
changed and the two performers began to clap faster and it became vivace. This continued for a while but it seemed as if one performer were on a
different beat or rhythm a little delayed. The sounds of the clapping hands seemed to overlap and it made it feel as if the sound were not coming
from the hands. The sounds seem to play some sort of trick when the sound hits. The clapping continues and there are parts where the performer's
tempo seems to be allegro clapping a little faster than before. There are some points where both performers seem to overlap their clapping of their
hands and it sounds very pleasing to listen to. The overall performance seems to stay at a constant rhythm and beat but once in a while there is a
change that can be heard. This song was very interesting to see and hear. This is something that I had never seen before and this was a whole
performance done with two people clapping their hands. Towards the end of the song the clapping seems to speed up and then staying at the same
rhythm like before. The song ends with a few last claps then it comes to an

Great Gatsby Song Analysis Essay
Song #1 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X9fLbfzCqWw http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/yellowcard/oceanavenue.html The song "Yellowcard"
by Ocean Avenue is a song that talks about a past relationship. The singer wishes to go back in time to the time that they were together so that his
life could improve. This is shown by the lyrics "If I could find you now things would get better" and "I know somewhere, somehow we'll be
together". This song relates well to "The Great Gatsby" as the singer's aspirations to enjoy life by reliving the past or similar to Gatsby's aspiration to
relive his past with Daisy. Gatsby believes that Daisy is everything that he will ever need and that with her he will attain eternal happiness. The green
light represents the dream of obtaining Daisy. Gatsby reaches towards this light at the end of chapter one as if he is trying to reach towards the past.
Both Gatsby and the singer of "Yellowcard" both want to achieve happiness by relieving the past with their former lovers. Song #2 https:/

Song Analysis: Forever Young
Music speaks what cannot be expressed. I often hear old people complain about how they wish they were still young and sometimes I ask my self
why? If so many people that are young wish to be older so they can go out exploring places that when they are underage can't. As I listen to the song
forever young by Jay–z and Mr. Hudson, I pay close attention to the lyrics and I find my self connected to everything the song is saying. As most
people know Hispanic parents are very strict when it comes to their teens going out and exploring new things in life. So many young adults haven't
had the opportunity to live their life the way they want for so many reasons and I'm one of many Hispanic who have never had the opportunity to have

Also another part of the song that I connected with is "hoping for the best but expecting the worst" I cant relate to this note of the song because
that has been my mindset through all this years, I'm always hoping for the best but always prepare to known that things can't always turn out right
in life. Another verse that I relate too is "life is for living, not living uptight, till you're somewhere up in the sky" I connected with this verse
because I'm always trying to make the best out of life, even in the worst situations I always try to be positive and be happy because if you're going
trough a rough time and one start feeling sorry for themselves it's not going to get better. Another verse that goes with me is "we don't have the
power but we never say never" it describes me because there are sometimes were I'm in situations were I cant do anything about it but I never back
down I always look for solutions for problems, I always thing there are things that are going to be hard but never impossible. This verse is the best
one that can describe me "life is a trip" I have always thought that life is a trip, a trip that you got to explore and enjoy, that is why one got to make
the best out of life. This song describes me because I want to be forever young, so I can have enough time to

A Rhetorical Analysis Of Song Lyrics
I'm inspired by this song to keep my head up high, not to give up so easily. Reading the lyrics and taking notice in the music introduced me to a

struggle and hurt with her audience brings a deeper connection, other than singing a song she has no relation with. Her experience with hurt spoke to
me as a fellow singer, it encouraged my life lessons from past hurts to say a little pray, and depend solely on faith. Hope, and faith which will assist
me along through my low valley of hurt. The better days that are described as her background vocals carry "I can see the future, and it looks

Song Analysis: Exploring A Song
I chose this song based on the kind of person I am. The song represents me by thinking twice, whenever I do something that I might regret I think
twice and either do it or not engage in the bad idea. I also have a lot of care for my family, pets, and friends. The song has a calm melody which
represents how calm I usually am, and the rhythm is relaxed which also relates to me. Stereo Hearts comments about not leaving behind which I don't
really like to be alone unless I'm tired. The song also says, hear my thoughts and every noise, sometimes I like to express my opinions on things, I am

The guitar solo provided more emotional support to the lyrics of the song. It wasn't loud and it wasn't soft. It was right in the middle. The song had a medium tempo and the dynamic of the song is soft to high and then back to soft. Because of the soothing and soft to high dynamic of the song with the guitar producing the support, you feel the emotions the song is trying to provide. Most of the lyrics are repeated in song and the main vocalist said this line ("I don't want to leave her now. You know I believe and how") throughout the song, which is the main idea behind the song. The main idea the song is trying to portray is how there's something special in the person he loves and he can't let her go. He said "Attracts me like no other lover" and" That I don't need no other lover" which means the girl he loves is irreplaceable. The lyrics of this song are relatable to everyone because it's about love. It's not something we can see or touch but it's an emotion that we all can feel and express at any given

  • 3. The Four Seasons: Song Analysis For this assignment, I decided to compare two songs that describe a very special (and usually very awkward) time in one's sexual journey–losing your virginity. My modern selection is "Wet Dreamz" by J. Cole, an up and coming artist. This song was released in April 2015 and became one of the rapper's top hits. My throwback song selection was "December, 1963 (Oh, What a Night)" by The Four Seasons, which was released in December 1975. These songs describe the myriad of feelings and emotions that coincide with one's first time, as well as gives a look into the ways sexuality and the ways in which talking about it have changed over the decades. For starters, both songs open the same way: J. Cole: "Man, it wasn't nothin' like that first, time"...show more content... J. Cole describes losing his virginity as a unique, once–in–a–lifetime, experience. The Four Seasons openly state it as a special time, one that is unforgettable. I'm sure this is generalizable to many people across many eras. The second similarity I found was the way in which the artists described their partners: J. Cole: "Cause when I seen 'em thighs on her and them hips on her and them lips on her, got me daydreaming, man what" The Four Seasons: "Hypnotizing, mesmerizing me. She was everything I dreamed she'd be. Sweet surrender, what a night" Whereas both artists are describing the overwhelming beauty and attraction they feel towards their partners and how they've dreamed about her, the way they do so and the terminology they use is vastly different. The way J. Cole emphasizes the female's physical attributes reflects modern society and its emphasis on outer beauty and curvy features. The Four Seasons lyrics leave room for more interpretation, allowing the listeners to imagine the female in their own definition of beauty and what they find attractive. One thing that still rings the same, however, is the rush of adrenaline and mixed emotions of excitement and nervousness that usually accompanies one's first Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. Song Analysis Essay Song Analysis Essay Social inadequacy is an aspect of life that many in today's world consider a matter of great importance. There is a constant "war" for the apex position on the social hierarchy that has been created as a result of mankind's strict focus on society. An indie pop band by the name of Fun. have taken this concern and made it the subject of a song called Some Nights. This song depicts and acknowledges the existence of a social hierarchy and the world's fixation on reaching the top of it. This song also demonstrates the Marxist theory which states that one's self–conscious is determined by one's social existence. Simply put, with little social power, one cannot be sure of whom they are. Furthermore, this song illustrates...show more content... He acknowledges his lips' potential at dictating society, and how they will influence other areas where power is present. Let's be honest, how many times have we heard of people who are virtually unknown to the world suddenly come to power in a number of areas? Exactly. You can count them on your fingers. This is one of the reasons for mankind's dependence on social adequacy. In order to gain power in many areas, you must have first acquired power in society, the greatest power of all. Climbing up this non–existent, intangible social ladder, Karl Marx's theory on the self–conscious' dependence on social existence and the power of social omnipotence in external affairs are all examples of how this world has taken a Marxist turn in not–so–recent years. Social adequacy seems to be everything now. All in all, this Marxist world of ours is subject to what society deems important or suitable in our lives. The sad truth is that this aspect is so deeply imbued within our lives that it has become a sub–conscious thing to mind our actions in every way; just so that we may get that much more social or gain that much more status. In everything,, everywhere there are Marxist inferences. In politics, in school, at work...even at home! In all honesty, have you ever completely not cared about your place in society, even sub–consciously? Dwell on Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 5. Song Analysis : Alright By Kendrick Lamar In "Alright" Kendrick Lamar is speaking to the public about police brutality, or is he sending a deeper message to the people of minority. Kendrick Lamar released the song titled "Alright" in 2015. Upon release the song instantly blew up. It 's catchy and even though people got tongue tied trying to recite the song everyone knew the hook of the song which stated "We gon be alright do you hear me do you feel me we gon be alright." I wonder did anyone catch the poetic verses Kendrick was saying before the hook. By simply watching the video you instantly think oh police brutality but I recieved a deeper message. I believe Kendrick wanted the song to inform the public about the brutality that seemed to be continuous at the time; and offer a bit of hope to those who didn't feel there was any. That's why the song was so famous, Kendrick performed this song on numerous award shows and talk shows because the people needed to hear it. Though some believe the song is in protest against cops or sending a bad message others believe it is an anthem for african americans. I do believe that Kendrick targeted the African American population with the song but the song could be for all races and minorities. I don't think the song excluded anyone. Police brutality can happen to any race and it has happened to just about every race. African Americans just have been the most talked about and more frequently abused lately. Kendrick doesn't put himself upon a pedestal or imply that he's above Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Personal Essay: Song Analysis My passion for music really didn't kick in until I wrote my first song. I had been playing guitar for about 6 years, but until my pen hit the paper I never experienced how cathartic music can be. It allowed me to escape from the crazy and stressful world and bleed everything I was feeling onto the page or over the strings. I have written close to 40 songs and each one has a special place in my heart for a specific time in my life. The stories I tell in my songs allow me to step into the shoes of someone else, or perhaps make my own fit just a little more snug. I like to find energetic riffs and sometimes quirky lyrics that inspire me to look at life a differently or find value in things or moments that are normally overlooked. As I build my following I hope to give listeners what my songs have given me–a three minute hiatus from everything else. Hopefully that three minutes can last them a life time....show more content... I transferred here to pursue music after completing three years of a biology degree at Bethel University in Minnesota. Through Bethel, I did a music study abroad program in Nashville that changed my life and connected me with my true passion. My faith is really what fueled me these past few years. It has influenced me to take life with open arms, to relax, and to remember that God's got me. I like to use the idea of guidance and perseverance as a common theme in a lot of my writing. Its important for people to fight for what they want while trusting in the larger plan, and with each song I write I remind myself of Get more content on HelpWriting.net

It is the most popular song by Pilot and became one of the top five songs in Canada, the USA, and the UK in 1975, which was around the same time it was released in late July of the same year. Because of the song's sudden success, it was introduced in many films Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. Essay on Morning Song Analysis Morning Song В– Sylvia Plath Morning Song, by Sylvia Plath, was written in February 1961, the same month she suffered a miscarriage. Morning Song, by Sylvia Plath, explores the physical and emotional links between a mother and child, and Plath's own growing maternal bond with her child. In the poem, Plath is contemplating her relationship with her new child and it is clear she has mixed emotions of apprehension and awe. The opening line of the poem introduces her first impressions of the child. "Love set you going like a fat gold watch." This immediately creates a positive connection with the baby, as she uses the word "Love" as the origin of her child. The simile "fat gold watch" creates a somewhat confusing image of the child,...show more content... In both pieces she wishes to be detached from love and responsibility, yet as the poem progresses, she has a change of heart, almost an epiphany. The next stanza moves on to talk about how Plath's apprehension stops her from bonding with he child with these lines: "I'm no more your mother / Than the cloud that distills a mirror to reflect its own slow / Effacement at the wind's hand." Here Plath (the В‘cloud') is resenting giving birth to her image as it reminds her of her own inevitable mortality. The child is the mirror, which reflects the dissipation of the cloud. Plath seems to then have a change of heart. She creates a fragile, beautiful image of her child; "All night your moth–breath / Flickers among the flat pink roses." Use of consonance in "moth–breath" and alliteration in the line "Flickers among the flat pink roses" constructs the soft sounds of the infant's breathing. It is interesting how she utilises the flower imagery which is similar to her other poem, Tulips. In Tulips, the flowers bring her back from the state of detachment, and here it is the baby's breath, soft as roses, the awakens her love for her child. The awakening of this love is expressed in the last lines of that stanza; "I wake to listen: A far sea moves in my ear." However, she stills resents the newfound nocturnal annoyance, evident in how she describes herself as "cow–heavy" as Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 9. The Message Song Analysis The song "The message" by Grandmaster Flash and The Furious Five depicts the struggle of young black adults growing up in society. The struggle to make it out of poverty can be compared to survival of the fittest in a jungle. Only the strong would survive and adapt to the changes to fit in. Trying their best to make a betterment with whatever little society offers. Being a young black African American in the early 1980's was not easy. It was easier to live the fast life and gain fast money by being part of the drug community. Drugs, guns, and money was glamorized and this is what the young adults looked at as a means of getting rich. In the songs, a young man talks about how he is trying hard to hold on to the little bit of sanity he has left in his soul. He talks about the struggle he endures while trying not to get pushed over the edge. He was born an innocent child who's blind to the ways of mind kind. Growing up he faced many challenges and had to fight...show more content... Despite all the hardships he faced he did not choose to be like the others in his community. Throughout the song he visually explain the life of the young women and how they turn to selling their bodies as a means of making money. Although this may seem absurd, it was the life that many of the women lived in order to feed themselves and their children. According to Crystal Endsley and Marla Jaksch Hip Hop has the ability to enact social change because it is firmly connected to local youth, a source that the state does not generally reach. The global impact of Hip Hop as it relates to East Africa and the struggles for equality and liberation begin with raising awareness within the masses. In the song, Grandmaster Flash tried to bring awareness to the community in which he resides and he explores the struggle and fight to continue living in a poor Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. Mean By Taylor Swift: A Song Analysis The reason I included this song is that when I was in elementary school I rode the bus to school and home from school. When I would ride the bus that is when the kids would bully me on the way to school and that was an awful way to start the day with negative thoughts about myself, and then throughout the day the bullying would continue. However, in about second grade after many days of coming home crying because of the mean kids at school and on the bus, my parents got me an mP3 player and loaded a bunch of songs onto it. From that point on I would blast my music for the entire bus ride, one of the songs that helped me to understand that I had not done anything to deserve the people who bullied me bullying me was Mean by Taylor Swift. • 11. Essay on Song Analysis Micheal Jackson- Beat It Selina Pearl Professor Finch English 109 03 August 2010 Michael Jackson – "Beat It" In 2009, we lost one of the greatest entertainers in music history, however his music still lives on, inspiring and touching people's heart. I have always been a fan of Michael Jackson, and the reason why I picked this song is because it presents a strong message. Not only did Jackson make a powerful statement with his lyrics, he also made one with his choice of rhythm and beats. The guitars and drums that were used, give the song a dramatic rock vibe. According to music critics Jackson's album Thriller seemed to be inspired by "a mixture of several genres which previously were never combined" ( thrilleralbum). It is pretty obvious...show more content... The second verse talks about making the right choice to just go away instead of shedding blood, and trying to be a tough guy. The third verse simply describes that even if one chooses to walk away, it is better to be alive than to risk it. The fourth verse in my opinion talks about the consequences of fighting and that if one chooses to be violent, chances are that they will get hurt. As mentioned earlier the chorus defines to just walk away although "No One wants To Be Defeated." It is better to go because in the end "It Doesn't Matter Who is Wrong Or Right." Jackson uses very powerful words and explains that it is always best to look out for yourself instead of proving yourself to others. It is not worth the struggle (songfacts). As I was analyzing the song, I was listening for specific sounds and noises that would symbolize the meaning of the song. I heard a police siren which could symbolize that if you get involved with gangs and violence, you will end up in jail. I also heard a snapping sound and deep breathing sounds. The breathing sounds could represent the sound of someone running away and catching a breath. I could detect sounds as if someone was getting punched and sounds of blades which could represent a fight. While searching for different meanings of the song I came across an interesting Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 12. Island Song Analysis Most people can say that one of the most important things in life is happiness. Happiness is key to a worthy life. When you are happy, you go about your day much better than if you are sad or angry. Happiness occurs internally but external factors such as music can always help. Music is responsible for extracting certain emotions, such as happiness, in any listener. I chose to call my playlist "It's Going to Be a Good Day" because everyone needs a playlist to start off their day right by listening to songs that instigate happiness. I chose this theme because personally I believe that happiness is very important in my life. If I am not happy, then I cannot be efficient in the different things I do. By listening to these songs on this playlist ...show more content... The lyrics of this song are uplifting and make the listener feel as if nothing can get in their way to reach their goal. This song is polyphonic because it contains two voices accompanied by instrumentation. The tempo is upbeat and creating a feeling of happiness. The male voice's timbre is raspy and soulful. The melody shows the sentiments that the two singers are promising each other during the chorus. The instrumentation included strings, which gave the song a sweet and catch tone, and the drums gave a pulsating drums that keeps the song upbeat. While listening to the song I feel like I can conquer the world and nothing can stop me from doing the things I want to do so the sense of power evolves into happiness Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 13. Personal Essay: Song Analysis Listening to the lyrics of your favorite song you automatically start to have a connection with that song. Then the song starts to represent you and your life because of the lyrics. Some songs show about being a fighter, having freedom, or just being you. There's a billion of songs out there and there's a billion of people who connect with those songs. Usually the most common reason why some songs represent people is by their past experience. For me some songs represent me because I decided to follow my dreams, living in the moment, and get right back up. Being a teenager in high school you dream about having the same career as your friend or going to the same college as them but for me and my friends it was reverse. They were more comfortable performing in a band, or acting, and singing. While I was more comfortable standing there and give a speech than they were. But being a shy high schooler you rather be with your friends than by yourself. Listening to 'Social Casualty' changed my thoughts. Just by hearing the lyrics I knew the song and I shared the same problem. I took my chance and signed up for my classes which was entirely different than all my other friends. Even if I'm alone in a class I could always play this just to motivate me to follow my dreams than someone else. The song represent me because I didn't want to be a follower in my...show more content... Maybe that's why some songs represent me and my personality. • 15. Personal Essay: Song Analysis The trees willowed above the campers like fast moving water in a rapid. I consumed the words of the gospel as they flashed across the screen faster than Usain Bolt in his 100–meter dash, the calming sound of the strumming guitar as it fills the room. I feel the crisp pages of my song book grace my fingers as I open it to the first song. A dimly lit campfire glows against the campers' faces as they harmonize together in song. As we got done singing we joined hands in prayer. I feel the slightly moist hands of my counselors and friends as we came together. I could smell the aroma of the fan favorite poppy seed chicken in the dining hall. The smell of the food overpowered the smell of the campfire smoke. After prayer, we rushed to the dining hall Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 16. Music: Song Analysis This song was started by having all the instruments introduced. Once the performers were introducing the instruments I was able to picture that this song would be very unique and something I had not heard before. Once the list of instruments was finished the song started with the tin cans. The tin cans were laid out in sets with three people playing them. The song starts with the same rhythm and tempo which is moderato. Then it changes to andante. Then one person would stop and the three players would alternate between plays. One performer covers his tin cans with a black cloth and the sound changes. The dynamics are piano and the tempo is adagio. While this is going on there are random beats of the bass drum. Once again there is a major change...show more content... I was not expecting the beginning of a piece to start out of nowhere. The piece starts with the tempo being allegro. Both performers stayed with the constant rhythm and beat. The dynamics of the song were forte. The clapping of the hands created a very loud surrounding. Then the tempo changed and the two performers began to clap faster and it became vivace. This continued for a while but it seemed as if one performer were on a different beat or rhythm a little delayed. The sounds of the clapping hands seemed to overlap and it made it feel as if the sound were not coming from the hands. The sounds seem to play some sort of trick when the sound hits. The clapping continues and there are parts where the performer's tempo seems to be allegro clapping a little faster than before. There are some points where both performers seem to overlap their clapping of their hands and it sounds very pleasing to listen to. The overall performance seems to stay at a constant rhythm and beat but once in a while there is a change that can be heard. This song was very interesting to see and hear. This is something that I had never seen before and this was a whole performance done with two people clapping their hands. Towards the end of the song the clapping seems to speed up and then staying at the same rhythm like before. The song ends with a few last claps then it comes to an Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 17. Great Gatsby Song Analysis Essay Song #1 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X9fLbfzCqWw http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/yellowcard/oceanavenue.html The song "Yellowcard" by Ocean Avenue is a song that talks about a past relationship. The singer wishes to go back in time to the time that they were together so that his life could improve. This is shown by the lyrics "If I could find you now things would get better" and "I know somewhere, somehow we'll be together". This song relates well to "The Great Gatsby" as the singer's aspirations to enjoy life by reliving the past or similar to Gatsby's aspiration to relive his past with Daisy. Gatsby believes that Daisy is everything that he will ever need and that with her he will attain eternal happiness. The green light represents the dream of obtaining Daisy. Gatsby reaches towards this light at the end of chapter one as if he is trying to reach towards the past. Both Gatsby and the singer of "Yellowcard" both want to achieve happiness by relieving the past with their former lovers. The song also has the lyrics "you take all of me," this represents the stalker quality of Gatsby, and shows that she is his life. Both the song "Hanging by a Moment" and Gatsby condone the idea of life being lived through someone else, and without that person life is not worth Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 18. Song Analysis: Forever Young Music speaks what cannot be expressed. I often hear old people complain about how they wish they were still young and sometimes I ask my self why? If so many people that are young wish to be older so they can go out exploring places that when they are underage can't. As I listen to the song forever young by Jay–z and Mr. Hudson, I pay close attention to the lyrics and I find my self connected to everything the song is saying. As most people know Hispanic parents are very strict when it comes to their teens going out and exploring new things in life. So many young adults haven't had the opportunity to live their life the way they want for so many reasons and I'm one of many Hispanic who have never had the opportunity to have a normal life. In...show more content... Also another part of the song that I connected with is "hoping for the best but expecting the worst" I cant relate to this note of the song because that has been my mindset through all this years, I'm always hoping for the best but always prepare to known that things can't always turn out right in life. Another verse that I relate too is "life is for living, not living uptight, till you're somewhere up in the sky" I connected with this verse because I'm always trying to make the best out of life, even in the worst situations I always try to be positive and be happy because if you're going trough a rough time and one start feeling sorry for themselves it's not going to get better. Another verse that goes with me is "we don't have the power but we never say never" it describes me because there are sometimes were I'm in situations were I cant do anything about it but I never back down I always look for solutions for problems, I always thing there are things that are going to be hard but never impossible. This verse is the best one that can describe me "life is a trip" I have always thought that life is a trip, a trip that you got to explore and enjoy, that is why one got to make the best out of life. This song describes me because I want to be forever young, so I can have enough time to Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 19. A Rhetorical Analysis Of Song Lyrics I'm inspired by this song to keep my head up high, not to give up so easily. Reading the lyrics and taking notice in the music introduced me to a different concept, despite how hard times can get, someone else is having a tough time also. I've found interest in her overall message, sharing her struggle and hurt with her audience brings a deeper connection, other than singing a song she has no relation with. Her experience with hurt spoke to me as a fellow singer, it encouraged my life lessons from past hurts to say a little pray, and depend solely on faith. Hope, and faith which will assist me along through my low valley of hurt. The better days that are described as her background vocals carry "I can see the future, and it looks Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 20. Song Analysis: Exploring A Song I chose this song based on the kind of person I am. The song represents me by thinking twice, whenever I do something that I might regret I think twice and either do it or not engage in the bad idea. I also have a lot of care for my family, pets, and friends. The song has a calm melody which represents how calm I usually am, and the rhythm is relaxed which also relates to me. Stereo Hearts comments about not leaving behind which I don't really like to be alone unless I'm tired. The song also says, hear my thoughts and every noise, sometimes I like to express my opinions on things, I am a talker. The lyrics are unique just like me, at least I like to think of myself as unique. "This melody was meant for you, to sing along to my stereo" It representing Get more content on HelpWriting.net
