Communications. It was originally formed as an
independent production company. They begun
with their television show ‘Who Wants To Be A
Millionaire?’ They then expanded with their
income to produce films.
Celador own Celador entertainment, Celador
films, Celador radio (they own eight radio
stations) and Celador teatrical.
3. Operating models
• They have various ways of making their money to make
the films:
• Initial capitalization- for example bank loans, personal
finances etc.
• Project capitalization- they may use what they have
earn from previous products.
• If they have a parent company they could use there
funds and then give back the fees through their
income.
• Distribution fees- This means selling the film to the
distributer before it has been made however this
means they get a final say in the pricing.
4. Products
Not only did Celador direct The Descent but
they have also made other films such as
Centurion, The Scouting Book for Boys, The
Decent: Part 2, Slumdog Millionaire, Separate
Lies, Dirty Pretty Things and some other films.
They started with the popular television
program Who Wants To Be A Millionaire.
5. Market Position and Competitors
• They are able to promote themselves through
their radio station and through their other
films as if there other films are good they the
viewers are more likely to want to see their
other films.
• There competitors could be other film
companies such as DNA films, Film4
Productions, Sony Pictures Entertainment.
